Taffer’s Tavern – Alpharetta (Downtown)

The food was delicious - we ordered the jalapeño poppers, fish & chips, the lobster roll, and side of tavern “truffle” fries. Even just the truffle fries alone were worth visiting for. Perfect portions and flavorful dishes for a great lunch out.

Katie was our server. She was fantastic! Food was served quickly and still warm. Great add was meeting Jon Taffer today! Very nice guy!

My family are Bar Rescue junkies and Taffer's Tavern was everything and more than what we expected! The cocktails were amazing and the food unbelievable! Such a wonderful experience that we can't wait till the next time! I would highly recommend John as your server! Outstanding is an understatement! We were most impressed by the management team! My husband and I both hold upper management positions, and we experienced top rated management interaction tonight which knocked our socks off! OhEmGee! The jalapeño poppers!! I wasn’t feeling like anything fried but my husband wanted them. They came out “baked” with no breading and I was thrilled!! They were so good. Pimento, cheddar and cream cheese! We also got Honey bourbon Wings. Cooked to perfection. Smoked old fashion and their twist on the French 75, “deconstructed” with Prosecco on the side. Definitely have Jason or Ty make your drinks! They made the experience fantastic!

I come here every Friday night and have had McKenzie a few time now, and she’s the best! Great service, kind, takes care of anything we need. And we have the best view of the Alpharetta Concert Series. Looking forward to being a Friday night regular!

And the Smoked Old Fashioned in a glass decanter filled with a cloud of smoke? That’s not a drink—that’s a moment. Perfectly chilled with crystal-clear ice, it was as smooth as Jon Taffer’s one-liners. Bonus points for the bourbon lovers: Taffer’s Tavern isn’t playing around. Their flight menu is a whiskey drinker’s dream. From Stagg Jr. and Blanton’s in the Barrel King’s flight to a full Pappy Van Winkle lineup (yes, even the 15 year), the options are elite. We didn’t splurge for the Pappy flight this time, but knowing it’s there earns instant credibility. Whether you’re a rye fan, a Buffalo Trace devotee, or just want to try something rare, their “by the glass” list is worth asking about. This isn’t just a tavern—it’s a bourbon bar with swagger. We started with bacon-wrapped jalapeños and the deviled eggs, both packed with flavor and plated beautifully. The star of the show was the Short Rib, fall-apart tender over crisp green beans and creamy potatoes—no need to yell “Shut it down!” here. Service was on point, atmosphere was upscale but relaxed, and the whiskey chandelier overhead just confirmed this isn’t your average bar—it’s a destination. I walked in expecting to nitpick like a bar consultant and left feeling like I’d been served by Taffer himself. Bravo to the Alpharetta team—you nailed it.

What a fun way to spend a Friday night! We started with a couple of signature cocktails and the Brussels sprout appetizer - yum! Followed by a salad with grilled salmon. A nice mix of “treat yourself” and healthy eating. We were warmly greeted by our server Katie who paced out our meal just the way we requested. We look forward to going back!

My husband and I love watching bar rescue and so we had to come check this place out. The food and drinks were amazing! My husband is gluten free and he got a gluten free bun with his burger. The S’moffee martini was the best! Highly recommend. The atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Highly recommend this place if in town!

First time visiting. The interior decor with touches as protruding mortar from the bricks, the wood tables, curved booths, and fixtures set the tone for our group dinner. I was impressed with the mixology, and the quality of the drinks was awesome. The servers were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the drinks and menu. The food was excellent and the presentation was great. We had a large group, and I had a pasta dish, and it was. Fresh, hot, and delicious. I love to cook, so I always try my food before seasoning, and I didn't have to. That's a huge positive for me. The boozy deserts were freaking awesome! When I'm in the area, I will definitely come again.

This place is a lot of fun with good food and even better service. If you go in, be sure to ask for Nyasia. The cocktails are creative and served with an ambiance that creates an entertaining environment for all. The menu is creative with a lot of crowd favorites. This place gives off speak easy meets classy cocktail bar vibes. We even built a little campfire at our table this evening thanks to our wonderful server Nyasia. We’ll definitely be back and will make sure Nyasia is the one taking care of us. Already looking forward to next time.

Place was very good and decent. Seating was great and service was good too. Dylan suggested us some good cocktails and drinks. Food options were good. Quality and taste was perfect. Must visit place to hangout out or for a date. Second visit: still great and not tried all of their drinks on menu! They have some good blend of mixes. Sandwich and coconut shrimp are good!

Such fun cocktails and yummy food. Staff was very attentive, and our server Lauren was fantastic! Beautiful restaurant inside, lovely decor and swanky booths. Loved the intimate private room for a small group in the back. Highly recommend the pork belly app, steak frites, and get the truffle mousse with your fries. Grab a drink at the bar if you are short on time - bartenders are great! YUM 😋

We had to try this place for our anniversary, so booked a table for a Saturday at 4pm. Marcus was our waiter and he did an excellent job making sure we had what we needed from drinks to starter, main, and dessert. The food was delicious, especially the truffle fries and cheesecake. This place caters well to large groups, as it has plenty of booths and tables to accommodate 8-10 people.

This place blew my fiance’ and I completely away. Top 5 restaurants we have ever been to! Blue cheese olives for my martini, best spinach and artichoke dip we have ever had, friendly service that spaced our apps and mains perfectly timed apart. Good vibe with nice music and homelike, yet elegant ambiance. REASONABLY PRICED! And 10 min from our house! We will be regulars for SURE!

I ordered the steak, and it honestly exceeded my expectations, perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. You can tell real care goes into the food here. Every bite was spot on. Okay, seriously, if you go to Taffer's Tavern, you have to ask for Arsalan and McKenzie! They were both just absolutely the sweetest and so, so nice to us. They were super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed without us even having to ask. They made our whole night feel easy and fun! Major props to these two. they are truly the definition of great service with the best attitudes. Thanks for making our visit so lovely! We'll be back for sure!

During our first visit to Taffer’s Tavern, we had the pleasure of being served by Ashlyn, who was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly knowledgeable about both the drinks and the food, and her descriptions of the menu were spot on. She was attentive throughout our meal and really elevated our experience. We’ve always loved watching Jon Taffer on Bar Rescue, so it was such a treat to finally stop in while on vacation. My husband and I both agreed—we’ll definitely be back! We started with the Taffer’s Tasters, and the Tropical Bliss cocktail quickly became our favorite. For my entrée, I enjoyed the braised ribs topped with a rich demi-glace—absolutely delicious. The green beans were the best I’ve ever had anywhere! My husband loved the roast beef handheld, especially with the perfectly paired au jus—it was out of this world. For dessert, we couldn’t resist sharing both the chocolate molten cake and the milk and cookies. Both were decadent, fun, and truly to die for. From start to finish, our visit was fantastic—great service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Yum! We can’t wait to come back.

Went in here with my family earlier today, great good, excellent service and great ambiance. I got the chicken and it was one of the best dishes for the price it was on a great mashed potato’s and carrot mixture. Our server was case and he was extremely attentive and a great server. Overall it was great highly recommend.

McKenzie is such a great bartender! She is the sweetest and deserves a pay raise. Always serves good drinks and has a great attitude. And she’s very pretty!!

We celebrated our anniversary...another great experience. Love the Onion Rings starter. The Tavern Burger was medium rare...exactly as ordered. The side salad was a perfect portion. We will pass on the lobster roll next time. Our server Adriel was attentive and very friendly. When Anna heard it was our anniversary she had a slice of creme brulee cheesecake brought to our table. Taffer's is a great option for casual dining.

We came here a few nights ago for our anniversary and it exceeded our expectations. Our waitress Pearl was lovely and attentive. The atmosphere was nice as well. My husband had the braised short ribs and I had the salmon cakes, both were amazing! We also shared the deviled eggs and they were great too. We will definitely come back again.

It's rare to encounter a server who embodies hospitality quite like McKenzie. She was cheerful, efficient, and clearly takes immense pride in providing outstanding service. She checked in just the right amount, making us feel valued and well taken care of throughout our entire visit. If you plan on dining at Taffer’s Tavern, do yourself a favor and ask to be seated in McKenzie’s section. The food was delicious, but McKenzie’s incredible service is the reason we will be returning very soon!

We just stopped in for appetizers, but they were amazing! The jalapeno poppers with the pimento cheese were so good that I am definitely going to be craving them later. Our server was awesome and very funny. I know she had only been there for a few weeks, but I hope they keep her on because my girlfriend and I love talking to people and she was super sweet. We will definitely be back to try more their food.

McKenzie was an amazing server. She was super warm, attentive, and helpful the whole time. She gave great suggestions, checked on us at the perfect moments, and made our experience feel really comfortable and enjoyable. She’s definitely the kind of server who makes you want to come back.

This is one of my absolute favorite places. The atmosphere is always fun and the crowd is great. While these are highlights, we come for the food and the staff. We ABSOLUTELY LOVE McKenzie and Austin. They truly make you feel like longtime friends when you are in their company. Their drinks are always on point and they always make sure we have a great time and are taken care of. We love Taffer's <3

Had an excellent experience at Taffer's. The Honey Bourbon BBQ Wings were amazing and the Campfire Cocktail was top notch. Our sever Hannah was awesome! Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We'll definitely be back.

Adriel was amazing to our 20+ group of adults and children. He did a wonderful job getting everyone their drinks and food. He was friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. I truly appreciate all of the hospitality that Taffer’s Tavern gave to us.

We visited this place in Alpharetta downtown for my wife’s birthday dinner along with our two kids. The atmosphere was amazing, especially in the evening, perfect for a special dinner. The food was tasty and delicious overall. Service was fine, not outstanding but decent. There’s no dedicated kids menu, but they do have a few kid-friendly options on the main menu like chicken tenders and fries, which worked for us. Drinks could definitely be better. Overall, we enjoyed our time and had a nice birthday dinner experience.

We celebrated our anniversary there & everyone wished us a Happy Anniversary. Our server, Katie, was great! She did a great job explaining the various cocktails and menu. She was very attentive to what we needed and made our dining experience enjoyable! The sauces that came with the onion rings were really good. The Campfire cocktail was yummy. I got the chicken and waffles. The waffles & syrup were delicious and the chicken was good. Overall, good experience and will return!

I didn't care for the fish and chips. The rest in my group enjoyed their meals. Parking could be an issue for some. I THINK there's plenty of parking, but I think you need to know where to go

I met some friends here for dinner and drinks. Loved the huge booths! The appetizer pretzel was massive and good! Delicious brussels sprouts and the side salad was a really good size. My friend got the au jus sandwich and another the chicken and both enjoyed it - because they didn't share! Lol. Great service! A very decent choice of beers and cocktails. Would definitely go back. Moderately loud because of the large open space.

We had specialty holiday drinks that they advertised which took 20 minutes to get at our table. At the time of day that we went, There were only 3 people at the bar and 4 tables of guests inside. We sat outside since it was a beautiful day. There was an unbussed table next to us for almost two hours that we stayed. Our server was attentive enough, but will say he looked unkept with shirt untucked, food all over his shirt and pants. We don’t come here often because each time we find ourselves disappointed, but try again hoping for the best. Also…… I may only write 2-3 reviews a year and we go out to eat 5-7 times a week. That’s how disappointed we are.

I was in the area and had to give this a try. It's all about standards. The first night we came, we went to order two things for dinner, and they were both out of those items. In turn, I ordered a grilled chicken cobb salad. I also ordered double eggs, french onion, and chicken club. When the French onion came, there was no broth in it, leaving me unable to consume any of it. I showed it to the server, and he agreed. The deviled eggs were eeeehhhh, and there was nothing special about them. The grilled chicken avocado club was good. The server was hit or miss for us; sometimes, he would be on top of us, catering to our needs, but then other times, he would completely disappear for a while, leaving drinks empty and us wanting additional items. The following day, we returned with an additional group of business people. When we came in on Friday night, we were seated and waited over 18 minutes for any form of attention from a server. This is all while management walked past our table, servers, and hostess countless times. Finally, we asked management if we could get a server for our table. Management would have apologized and got us at least started in on drinks, but they did not. We waited another 3 minutes and 37 seconds for a server to come to the table. Once the server got there, the service was on point. The roast beef sandwich was not that amazing, and the fish and chips had a heavy batter on them. However, the grilled chicken club was still good. When the owner/management responds, revisit us, and it will be different. We did it twice, and the service was the same subpar and even worse on the second experience! Everyone missed the mark for a place that is supposed to uphold standards, from the hostess to the server to the management. Is the vibe inviting on the inside? It is. But the service from the tables and management needs better standards/oversight!

The hostess with the shoulder length curly hair was very nice but the one with the straight hair pulled back had an attitude and her facial expression did not help at all. The guy at the bar was quick to get our drink order and made some great drinks. Our waiter was nice, drinks, and food was good. We did notice one of the lighting above the center tables needs to be replaced we kept looking because it looked like it was going to fall on the guy at that table. Honestly , as many tables/booths that were empty there shouldn’t have been a wait list especially for an hour. In my opinion reservations should only be made if it’s a huge group. It’s not like it’s crowded or packed like Rumi’s.

First I want to say the server was great. We were slow and I hope she felt I tipped accordingly. /Karen mode BUT! Two of our party got the fish and chips and they were out of coleslaw. The server gave a clearly scripted excuse involving how the dish is packaged from the supplier and that means no substitutions for the coleslaw. What? Server showed up later with two $16 drink vouchers which I *might* stop in to use in the future. Again, can't blame her. I got some poppers, which were very good, hard to find those without breading...but I also got a wedge salad and the dressing was...off. I tried it, my lady tried it...ick. When the manager showed up I told him about it and he ran off. But then he came back and said it tasted fine to him. It doesn't matter if you like it, sir. It matters if I like it. It was on the bill. Might come back to use the voucher, but overall unimpressed. /Karen mode

Food was incredible, but service was incredibly slow. 3 of the items we tried to order were out of stock, say for over 30 min yes and had to ask for service for stocks and food. Took an additional 30 minutes to get bill to leave when finished.

This review is from Sunday January 4 at 4 in the afternoon and Taffers was almost empty except for the bar and two tables. We got seated and told hostess it was my wife's birthday. She said "oh you get a free drink on your birthday" which was nice. Unfortunately, after a twenty minute wait I got up and walked to the bar and asked if we could get some service. Waiter who came was nice but was unaware that the one drink we ordered was not available after we had ordered and waited about 10 minutes. Ordered different drinks and appetizers that were good albeit a little pricey but we have been coming here since it opened several years ago. My wife's complimentary drink was ignored and forgotten by the staff. Last time the service here was very poor and we thought we would give it another try but were disappointed again. Taffers needs a Rescue IMO.

Drinks were great, food was not. The final product that was delivered was either missing items completely or substituted items that were key to the dish. It took too long than expected to get drinks and apps. We arrived at 8 p.m. on a Sunday, and the place was not even half full. The server was nice but didn’t see her as much as we needed. If there were no problems with the food, I’m sure we would have had no problem with the service. The food is not of quality, just frozen and fried. There are way better food options within walking distance.
