WOW - this food was truly amazing and authentic! I enjoyed the aesthetic, particularly the outdoor covered seating. It had Miami vibes with the music playing. We got complimentary chips and salsa to start, delicious. We ordered the recommended queso & guacamole as well. The guac was unbelievable and the queso was quite delicious too, although I could pass on that next time, especially since it was $18. I ordered the fish of the day with rice and veggies and WOW it was just delicious. Even the rice was perfect. My friend enjoyed her margarita & fajitas & I opted for an alcohol free strawberry water & it was tasty. The servers are busy so they don’t make you feel special by any means but that was fine, as we weren’t needing to be doted on. We arrived at 5:30 and had no issue with getting a table for two, but it started to get quite crowded and around 7 there were a lot of people waiting. I went inside to use the restroom and wouldn’t have enjoyed the experience as much if we had been sitting inside.

This is a great location just off the main busy street. It's perfect for a date, especially if you sit on the patio on a warm breezy day. It is also a great place for brunch/lunch during a break from shopping. The alley seating looks ideal for couples. Be mindful that the waitstaff uses that pathway to go back and forth. The menu has ample variety without overkill. The dishes we had were delicious and presented well: sopa, guacamole, and enchiladas. The staff is attentive. It is a quaint and cozy restaurant. I'll definitely revisit and bring others. A relaxed boutique restaurant, a true gem...

This place is a Dallas staple for us. The vibes are always high and the service is always good. The food is also incredible. There’s usually a wait to get seated, but you can order drinks at the bar while you wait. My go to meal is the enchiladas (one Blanca and one Verdes). It’s incredible! My friend did try the Mole (pictured) enchilada and their review was it was kind of too sweet. We also always get the guacamole - non negotiable. We also tried the Tres Leches and it was so so good! Highly recommend!

Beautiful cute spot . The margaritas were awesome . I feel in love with the chile relleno of shrimp !! We order the composted #4 the enchilada was good . But the Brisket taco was 3 star the tortillas was super cold and hard and a lot of oil . Chips and salsa were so good !!! Definitely recommend making reservation for weekends.

Ambiance, staff, cleanliness & food 10/10. Thelma was our server and she was amazing. Helpful for recommendations & very attentive. Texas has very very limited good true Mexican food and this is a great upscale Mexican restaurant. We got the carne asada nachos, carnita tacos & verde pollo enchilladas. Everything was delicious. Their verde sauce is an absolute must!!! It came with green rice & black beans (which they are great with switching out sides) The asada was perfectly cooked tender. Fresh ingredients. 2nd time visiting this place, will definitely be back!

5 stars all around. You just can’t go wrong here. The restaurant always seems to be nearly packed, but when you walk in they seemingly always have a table ready for us within 15 minutes as a walk-in. The patio is perfect, the food is fast and excellent, but the service is where they really excel. Hector usually takes care of us and is wonderful. Highly recommend if you happen to be in the area.

I was taken completely by surprise when I shared a lunch here with good friends. I checked out this place online and thought, "Oh, another ho hum TexMex place." Boy, was I wrong!! The ambiance is exceptional, as is the food and service. The chips and salsa were over the top, as was the guacamole. I enjoyed the chicken Mole enchiladas, and I have never tasted Mole like theirs. We also tried both deserts, the flan and their tres leches cake, and both were phenomenal!! Definitely check this place out!!

The waitress was kind and attentive. The ceviche was filling with great taste. My husband favored the white enchiladas the most. We had a very sweet spontaneous date here.

Amazing food and service ! We went there by accident (just looking for restaurant while walking) but here on will go again and again. Their drinks are super great too. The service is so prompt yet not pushy. The best is when I asked for hot sauce the server got their own green chili sauce which I could not get anywhere. If there are more than 5 stars it will be this restaurant !

We went to their location at 9810 N Central Expy St. 600 Dallas, Tx 75231. It's their newest spot. We had organized a last minute birthday lunch for a coworker, we did call ahead. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and sat. The restaurant is beautiful and the costumer service is excellent. We had 8 guest and despite everyone ordering drinks and entrees at once, everything arrived shortly. The drinks were delicious and the food tasted just like at home (I had Sopes.) At the end, upon hearing that we were celebrating a birthday, our waitress brought us cake as a complimentary celebration. We were in and out in an hour, great experience!

I ate here during a brief stop in Dallas and was impressed with both the quality of the food and the service. I was very hungry and started with the carne asada tacos, which had the most fork-tender meat I can remember. I also ordered enchiladas as a main dish, but I didn’t realize how generous the portions are so by the time I was done with the tacos, I was full. And this is where our server Monica really shined. She asked if I was still ready for the enchiladas. I think she suspected I may not have wanted them after all, and she had stalled putting in the order to be sure. This allowed me to change my order and get dessert instead. These little considerate actions are what take service to a whole new level. She also consistently anticipated our needs even though they were slammed that afternoon. I’ll definitely be back while in Dallas next time.

Exceptional food. Fresh coastal seafood with lots of flavor. Go for the Great margaritas and drinks. Sharp service. Restaurant is smaller and can be loud and lively. No bar area to wait, so get a reservation and be on time. Cheers!

We were looking for a fun Mexican restaurant to take our Grandson. I Yelped Mexican Restaurants Knox Henderson. They had 4.5 stars. We can certainly see why. The food was so good. We couldn't make up our minds between Guacamole (delicious) and the queso so our server suggested we do half and half! Amazing. I couldn't decide between two tacos … once again, one of each. My husband and Grandson had enchiladas with con carne sauce …. Sooooo good! Service was great and it wasn't too noisy. Definitely a repeat. It was too hot for the patio but when the weather cools down it would be a great patio to sit and enjoy food and drink! The margaritas were outstanding as well.

While the space felt very cramped on a Friday night, I loved the food and will go back for sure! Don't miss out on the ceviche - it's amazing. Same goes for the Chili Relleno filled with Camarones. Friends got the chicken sandwich and it was excellent as well!

Went here for brunch and the food and drinks were amazing !! The bartender made some great drinks and the tacos were so good!! The menu does not state Gluten Free options, but the staff were aware and knowledgeable, they advised me of what could safely be prepared.

When I left the house this morning, I asked a few neighbors if we were still in Dallas. The weather had changed so drastically overnight that I couldn't believe it. Shadow and I headed out for a morning walk, Deana headed to Pilates, and we would meet later in the Know Henderson area for lunch. Sun shining with a nice breeze made it a perfect outing. I ran a few errands, and then we headed off to Knox Street and were floored with all the people out and about. We found parking and made our way down Travis to find Deana, and then the three of us searched for something new to eat. We decided to try Doce Mesas because of its outdoor patio seating area and healthy food choices. It was the perfect place for Shadow. He had a great view of all the action happening while we ate. Deana and I decided on the Taco Salads, one with beef and one with shredded chicken. It was the perfect blend of greens with a light avocado vinaigrette dressing. After seeing some on another table, I also had some guacamole- you can even go wrong with Guac. Shadow- I highly recommend Doce Mesas, and if you decide to bring your humans along, they will like it, too.

Upscale setting with well priced food. The Coctel de Camarons off the ceviche menu is fantastic. Pictured below as the presentation is gorgeous. The iced tea is yummy and fresh and goes great with an afternoon on the patio. We went with the tempura fish tacos and the grilled gulf shrimp tacos Sitting outside is amazing. The patio and set up feel like you are in a different time and place. Relaxed and casual atmosphere with shade and even a stage for entertainment (although I don’t know if they utilize it) Cocktail menu is basic offerings but the One margarita looks like a great choice. Always add a floater of gran Marnier for a little extra punch. Overall location is fantastic and close to other great restaurants and little shopping center in walnut hill. Make a day of the area.

We had a wonderful dinner at Doce Mesas out on their front deck. Food was great and our server Johana was just awesome! She was so attentive and always had a pleasant smile on her face even though it was quite warm outside.

Great atmosphere and great food. Limited cocktail menu but all quality tequila based cocktails. The fish of the week is fun and delicious. I had the Redfish, and it was cooked to perfection. Please stop in for a classy , lite atmosphere.

This place is always a vibe. We've been dining at this location very often since moving to Dallas from the east coast. Valet parking is available. Very consistent in all aspects. I like that they finally added fajitas. Had them yesterday, and they were solid. Plenty of ingredients. The quac is excellent (a little salty this last time, but that was a one-off) The ceviche dishes are both outstanding. A definite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ recommend!

I have only visited Doce Mesas once, but I will be coming back soon! Our server was one of the kindest servers I have ever had in my entire life! I really loved the food and the ambiance here. My boyfriend came in about an hour before close, and we sat on the patio outside. Our server was happy to help us and give us menu recommendations! We loved the service with a smile! It was a perfect end to our day.

My sister, nieces, and I came here after a terrible experience at Eataly, where we walked out after not being attended fairly. We wanted comfort foods so we came here after remembering we had a great experience at the Uptown location. The staff great and friendly, food was amazing and my sister is raving about how good the mojitos are. The aguas frescas are so refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet. We will definitely make this one of our go to spots for the family.

We intended to eat at chuys but stumbled upon this gem! The service was amazing. We love Carmen! The food was superb! The drinks were super tasty. The ambiance is very romantic and comfortable. HECTOR DESERVES A RAISE!!!! While we were eating outside it started pouring and we were getting soaking wet. Our waiter, Hector, came over and held a table cloth in-front of us so we didn’t get wet. Food was also great, short wait and good drinks. The environment was so fun outside before the storm and was even great during thanks to our waiter!!!

We came in to celebrate a birthday and had an awesome experience thanks to Carlos! His service was top-notch—super friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. He even created a custom birthday shot for us that was seriously amazing. It was a fun, memorable touch that made the night even better. Highly recommend asking for Carlos if you stop by—he’ll take great care of you!

Another great concept from legendary restauranteur Mico Rodriguez, this is top notch Tex Mex with some great traditional Mexican dishes mixed in. Everything is great, but the mole dishes in particular shine.

The service at Doce Mesas was great, from arriving to attentiveness throughout the dinning experience. Doce Mesas feels like a hidden intimate gem. We ordered the Coctel De Camaron, a Carne Tampiquenia, and an Enchiladas Blancas. The ceviche came in such a generous amount that between the Coctel De Camaron, the margaritas, and complimentary chips and salsa, we were satisfied, ended up taking the rest to go and they tasted great even after reheating. The ambience is amazing, the margaritas are great, staff was polite and kept their masks on, I'll definitely be going back.

While on my way to the barbershop, I noticed this place off the highway. Intrigued, I promptly googled and checked its location, scrolling through pictures. I decided to stop by on my way back, and I'm thrilled with the food, service, and atmosphere. I had to share this positive experience in a review—modern habits, you know. Usually, trying something new disappoints me, but not today! The food was truly worth the money, and I thoroughly enjoyed my sangria.

Mexican food is my favorite. I moved from California almost 20 years ago and I think Dose Mesas is literally the best Mexican food I have had since moving to Texas. I have been 2 times now and everyone who was with us thought the same. The food is amazing.

Dos Mesas is a hidden gem. Second experience and I’ve enjoyed it immensely both times. The food is excellent, prices are very reasonable, and the service is prompt and professional. Additionally, the margaritas are good. Pictured is the “catch of the day,” which was grilled Redfish. And the #5 enchiladas. Both great meals.

Great local spot for lunch or dinner. Drinks are the best! We try to come in early as it can get packed. And maybe you can tell by the name, there is not much room so it gets packed. They do have a nice patio area and the see ice is great no matter where you sit. Haven’t been? You gotta try it out and have a Doña to cool off in the Texas heat!

Small, unassuming spot in McKinney area. Upscale feel right from the start. Service could be a little faster but was very friendly. Best Margaritas around. And the Chile Relleno was the best ever... highly recommend. I had the grilled cod... DELICIOUS. Overall best bang for your buck in a high-end setting.

Ambiance for sure is the appeal of this place. The place is always packed. Glad I got an excuse to check it out. Ceviche is incredible and is great shared starter. Definitely recommend. Entrées themselves could be better (a bit overcooked) but the prices and portions are right on point. The wine list is delightful. A couple glasses of that Franciscan white on a balmy evening in good company made for a memorable occasion.

I do think the ceviche could use more lime and mabe chili? the shrimp tasted a little fishy :/ one thing that somewhat upset me is that I ordered the ceviche for my meal and the waitress asked if I wanted to add a little side of guacamole to go with it, I assumed it would be a small cup for a small charge but ended up being the entire appetizers portion for an extra $15!! I paid $35 for my lunch BEFORE tip, with only drinking water, half of which I didn't even want :( I would just say to try to be more clear with customers about what they're ordering

Love this place. It's very upscale looking inside but you can dress casually. Food it too notch. Have been a few times. Loved everything I have gotten. I really praise the brisket tacos. They have a jalapeno relish....it deserves a chef's kiss for sure. They also serve a Strawberry tres leches that is the creamiest, most delicious tres leches I've had in years. Makes you want to eat the whole cake. Last time I got the chicken Pineapple tacos and they were amazing. I preferred the brisket though.

Good, attentive service and Tex-Mex style food. Prices are reasonable, and the frozen margaritas are great.

Elevated Mexican food. Great atmosphere and the margaritas were good as well. I would go back again. And there was a birthday party and they were dancing on the chairs....alot of fun!

Food is good but slightly overpriced. Need to create open parking, not empty-lot valet parking only. The valet parking is free but one doesn’t know this until you’re inside. Just let us park close to the restaurant.

I could honestly give this place an extra star just for the outdoor patio but I want to hold it back because my rating is primarily based off of the food we ordered. I have been wanting to try this place out because it has a good outdoor vibe going on, very ideal for a weekday dinner, so I did, but didn’t sit outside, coz Texas summer. Anyhow, we ordered the Enchiladas Verde with pollo and my friend got the Enchiladas Verde with veggies, both were about average. Salsa verde felt very tangy and didn’t feel very balanced. It came with refried beans and those were really bad(like I could taste the old oil), sadly had to pass on it. We both went with Enchiladas Verde over the Mole option because we like savory while having a meal but Mole could be a better option for others. We also ordered a side of guacamole with the chips and that wasn’t too great either. Overall, nothing blew our mind and the experience felt about average at best. Just wanted to share my experience being a local in this area.

Nice atmosphere, great service, good drinks. Loved the mango agua fresca. Had the cocktail shrimp, would recommend to have it made with more sauce and less avocado topping. Overall a good place for dinner and drinks.

Went here day after Thanksgiving and was super disappointed. Not one other group in there so they weren’t busy. Food came out way too spread apart - first plate to last more than 10 minutes. Food portions were small (nachos were 5 individually loaded chips) and uninspired. And wait staff were distracted by each other and had to be flagged down to ask about missing food items and then the bill.

It’s Mi Cocina…with less options. I’ll never understand the hype. I’ve been to Doce Mesas on McKinney several times with friends over 3 years and I don’t think I’ll be back soon. The place is tiny…which makes it nice and cozy on a slow day. But in the summer, there is always a crowd waiting in the very small dining area or outside in the parking lot. The patio is very popular and it’s incredibly difficult to get a seat there. They take your name and party number on a piece of paper…and there are no ways to make reservations. There may be 30+ people waiting outside and they tell you it’s a 30 minute wait, which is a lie. The food is mediocre. The meat is typically under flavored or dry. The tortillas are hard. The drinks are pretty good and strong, which is why I think people come back. Overall, I think it’s a see-and-be-seen situation or people stop after shopping in Knox. Trust me, it’s all hype. I would never take someone from out of town here and say that this is representative of good Tex-Mex. It is very Dallas though…nice aesthetic but lacking on flavor or personality. The business model is let’s keep it small so people wait and think it’s popular because there’s a long wait. No one wants to wait over an hour for mediocre food. Also…the AC dripped water me.

Food was meh, definitely not worth the price. We had the queso, ceviche, brisket and fish tacos. We left around 9:00 after the staff started stacking chairs and cut off music. Our first table the light was flickering and the table was shaky, moved to another table. The furniture felt like very cheap patio tables. Maybe the boozy drinks play in the high ratings, but I certainly don’t understand what people see in this place.

We live in the neighborhood and drive by all the time. The atmosphere looks great from the road and so it seemed very appealing. We walked in and were kindly greeted and offered any seat we wanted. We chose a very cozy and comfortable corner seat on the patio. We were then greeted by a very kind gentleman server who took our drink offer. That’s where the pleasantries ended! Soon thereafter a dead pan woman server comes to the table and asked what we want to drink. When we mentioned that someone else already took our drink order she responded: “I want to take it....what do you want?”. So we obliged and re-ordered. From that point on it was a series of unfriendly experiences and completely un-welcomed frowns and seeming inconveniences to her. It appeared as if she begrudgingly served us and didn’t care for our business whatsoever. As I type this she came to our table and snatched away the book with our credit card in it without a word and whisked away to process our payment. The cocktails were delicious and the main entree were quite tasty. The guacamole was bland but I was able to doctor is up with salt and pepper. I started this review with 3 stars solely because of the poor service and by the end I have revised it to 2 stars because of how the server has demonstrated such a lack of professionalism. I would return for the food but certainly not for the service. Our server was Ivana and I hope she sees this and takes to heart that people/product/process are the key to a successful business. When one is lacking the other two suffer greatly!

This was our second visit in a row with the same server, who again seemed out of it—possibly high or just completely disengaged. When we first walked in, all the servers were sitting down, and we had to ask if we should seat ourselves because no one greeted us. Throughout our meal, we only saw our server twice on his own in the two and a half hours we were there. Every other time we needed anything—even something simple like a refill or the check—we had to physically get up and find him. He never once checked in, asked how the food was, or offered refills. As someone who works in the service industry, I understand Mondays can be slow, but it’s unacceptable to have guests walk in to see every server sitting down and then be ignored for 30-minute stretches.

The waiter took forever to even to check if we were doing ok and if the food was ok after he delivered it. I ordered the chic fajitas. The chic was really dry.

We came in. Sat at a table immediately and got greeted with chips immediately. Chips and salsa were great. Got menus. Then literally never got approached again. We fed our infant, got up and then we left. Never approached by waitstaff at all. We went at 6 on a Sunday. They were very slow. We sat and waited at least 20 minutes to get a drink. Very annoyed, to say the least. We will NEVER be back. I’m pretty sure the owner told staff to ignore us until we left. Terrible. 👎🏾👎🏾

Really disgusted with my service tonight. Have eaten here multiple times, hence the reason I choose to take clients to lunch at the walnut hill location. The service was poor and, after 45 minutes, I still hadn’t received my side that essentially makes the dish. The line cooks laughed at me as I expressed my frustration to the manager- my server didn’t show her face for 45 minutes so I had to walk up to talk to him. He proceeded to ask me if I asked the bus boys for my requested item, rather than my server. The manager said he would take care of it, we got our side about 2 minutes later, and also received the round of drinks we were waiting to order for about 45 minutes or so- thank god! The line continued to laugh at us thereafter, it was great. After the meal, we realized we got charged two dollars for our requested side that took almost an hour to receive. We tried to talk to the manager after the meal and he quite literally smiled and said absolutely nothing as we expressed our concern after spending $175 with them. Absolute disgraceful customer service and extremely poor management. My family has been in the restaurant business for 20+ years and I’ve rarely experienced this level of unprofessionalism.

I absolutely cannot describe the disappointment that I have in this “restaurant”. My cousin, who lives in the area, highly recommended this establishment. My sister and I, both of whom are from out of town, agreed to meet her there today, since she was seeking to find a place for us to meet nearby. I’ve traveled the world and have been to Michelin Star restaurants, but knowing that it’s typically the standard for European establishments, I keep my expectations rather low. With that being said, the fare at this place was incredibly subpar. We were beyond surprised, since my cousin had recommended it. To make matters worse, our server was absolutely the worst that we’d ever had… He was absent for extremely long periods of time, inattentive and overall, mindless. We watched as he tended to tables around us and never once checked on our needs. We could not believe how incredibly rude he was. As a matter fact, the three of us found it rather bizarre. Needless to say, due to social norms, we all left him a generous tip, much more than what was necessary. With that being said, we’ll never frequent this establishment again, nor will I recommend it. How they manage to keep their doors opened is beyond me…🇬🇧

Was really excited to try this place as I loved the old restaurant Mr. Mesero and I’ve seen so many people posting on social media about it. But it was the worst dining experience I’ve had in Dallas. If you want to be chasing the manager down to put your name on the list (a physical notepad he carries around), then this is your spot. There was no hostess and it felt chaotic. My friend and I were just looking for a table for two and after waiting about 30 minutes we saw several people arrive after us, with larger groups, and be seated which was frustrating. I told one of the waitresses that passed us on the front porch and she told me to go ask the manager if it was our turn to be seated. I am Latina, and other than the wait staff, probably was the only customer of color. When I went up to the manager to ask what our wait time was looking like now, he proceeded to argue with me in Spanish. Very unprofessional and didn’t expect to be treated that way. He was obviously catering to the uptown/younger white clientele. I want to support fellow Latino businesses in my neighborhood but I will not be returning to this establishment.

We LOVED this place. Refined, great food, excellent service. But on our last visit they were greatly understaffed. Our favorite waitress was no longer there. The food portions appeared a lot smaller. And then we came to find out that they were going to remove the really nice white tablecloth touch in favor of plain table tops that were easier to clean and less costly to maintain. If this is going to turn into a Mexican chowhall, we don't need to go back. We are really sad to see the best Mexican restaurant spot in Dallas suddenly economizing itself into an "also ran".

Wow…wife and I walked in for an impromptu dinner while shopping…very quickly realized the entire waitstaff was also having dinner in between waiting on us….never once washed their hands in between eating and going back and fourth to make drinks and serve food….very uncomfortable and inappropriate….we won’t be back…

I was at your location at Walnut Hill and Central last night, and my car was broken into. The staff at the restaurant could not have been less helpful. No one really was interested in helping me. They said there were no cameras and there was nothing they could do furthermore, the wait staff was horrible. They kept disappearing during the night. I have tried to call the number at that location and it says it’s not accepting my phone number. I will never return to this restaurant again and I will tell everyone I know not to go back.

I came to this place based off of recommendations on where to go from Tik Tok and I left so disappointed with the food. The food was flavorless. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and received 3 shrimps and the rest was just avocado. I think they need to rename it to avocado cocktail… I also ordered a “mango agua Fresca” and it literally was Jumex. It was not freshly squeezed juice. It was overpriced, overly crowded, and overall just not good. I do not recommend this place at all.

This place false advertising drinks. I came up there on a Saturday morning to get the three dollar Mimosa special that they promote online and he said oh we don’t have any glasses . And can’t honor the special. But they said I can get the $20 mimosa glass. Which makes no since because they had all the flyers on table promoting this deal. Don’t go here there rude about it when you question them .Go to Taverna the food is so good !!!

Dallas has so many great restaurants that sometimes you can start to take them for granted. In this case food poisoning from the fajitas was a wonderful reminder to be grateful for the plenty of other restaurants that will continue to receive my business. Besides that the servers are amazing and atmosphere is pretty dope.
