Opinions de Feris Wheeler's Dallas
My husband, myself and two of his coworkers are staying at the Hilton across from Ferris Wheelers so we decided to try it out. It did not disappoint!! The food came out very fast and was very tasty!! I got the brisket and spare ribs. The meat was so tender you don’t need a knife to cut the brisket. I highly recommend if you’re in the Dallas area to try it out!! I forgot to take a pic when my food came out so the pic is of my leftovers. You get Texas size portions. 😉
I really enjoyed visiting here several times over my stay in Dallas. Twice for a meal and once for the bar out back. The BBQ was excellent. I had the brisket, both fatty and lean which was perfect with simple salt and pepper run. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was great and the ribs were wonderful with a great blend dry rub. I tried both sauces as well as the Mac and cheese and I have zero complaints! The staff was always friendly and easy to talk to and the atmosphere was very chill with a vibe you'd expect from a good ol BBQ joint. Highly recommend you stop in and try it out!
Great service. Going under new management and ownership. Great friendly place. Prices are great for as much food you get. The elote was amazing!! Best I had in a while. We sat in the backyard, they had swamp coolers that made a huge difference in the hot humid temperature. Great experience. Would definitely come here again. Thank you Britt for teaching us about Dallas and great service.
UPDATED****This place is so amazing I'm back again....In Dallas for the weekend saw this place and thought oh that Ferris wheel looks cute. The food amazing. The atmosphere incredible. There was a concert in the backyard so we couldn't visit the Ferris wheel but that was all right cuz the people in food made it a wonderful experience. Family of four had the family platter we all left happy and full.
Super friendly service and we enjoyed our BBQ. One of us got the sandwich with pulled pork, sausage, brisket and coleslaw with waffle fries, and I got the pulled pork and brisket with coleslaw. I really loved the choice of both BBQ sauces. Turns out I'm really into the mustard based one. The coleslaw had a nice spice. Loved the fried pickles with ranch. And they had sweet tea, a bonus.
I happened to be staying next door at a nearby hotel and wandered into Ferris Wheelers Backyard and BBQ—what a lucky find! Denise was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly patient with me as I figured out what to order, and even though she didn’t want to be in a photo, I have to give her the credit she deserves. She literally walked me through the entire menu, explained everything with care, and then gave me a side of every single sauce to try. That kind of hospitality is rare and made my visit unforgettable. The turkey sandwich? Legendary. Packed with flavor, smoky and tender—hands down one of the best BBQ turkey sandwiches I’ve ever had. The entire menu radiates high-quality ingredients and perfected Southern taste. This place is more than just a BBQ joint—it’s a full-on experience. If you're anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in.
Great restaurant/smokehouse in the Dallas area! 🥩🥓🍗 This was the first smokehouse we stopped at in Dallas when we got there during our family road trip because it was recommended to us by Google Gemini as a good stop for dinner that is kid-friendly in the area (with good reviews, of course!) and it did not disappoint 🔥 Vibes were great and very 'Texan', coming from tourists passing through from the Northern side of the USA ☺️ food were great, portions were huge, and the price was even better. Definitely recommend this place! ⭐💯
Absolutely incredible! We are in Dallas visiting for a week and wanted to try a BBQ place. We made a reservation for 8 people easily on a Monday evening. Dre was our server and he was so kind, attentive and a great time. He had great recommendations and was quick but friendly. The food was amazing! The groups favorites incude but are not limited to: brisket, beans, fried okra and ribs. We had a few people just get the loaded baked potato and they were the biggest potatoes I’ve ever seen in my entire life. They were huge and stuffed with great bits and meat and a fabulous meal. There was nothing that wasn’t appreciated at this restaurant and I’d recommend to everyone. We loved it and would go back if we lived in Dallas.
One of the cheapest places in Dallas, and it definitely delivered on flavor. I ordered the two-meat dish with brisket and turkey, but they were out of turkey, so I stuck with brisket alone. While some parts were a bit dry, the taste was still fantastic. The brisket BBQ sandwich was also a highlight, packed with flavor. The sauces served with the meat were delicious, enhancing the overall experience. The cole slaw was just right for my taste, crunchy and refreshing, and the waffle fries were perfectly seasoned. Despite the slight dryness of the brisket, the rich flavors and unbeatable prices made it worthwhile. The staff was incredibly friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. If you're looking for great food on a budget, this spot is definitely worth a visit.
The brisket fat was rendered PERFECTLY - and the four sauces weren't vinegary. Was it mind-blowing? No. Not fully 5-stars bc it's pretty pricey for the quantity & quality - like the cornbread was $4 for two bites (pictured). And we must have gotten the bottom of the barrel beans because it was 50% water (pictured) when we've seen photos of nothing but beans in other posts... Maybe what we get for going at 3 pm...?
Not at all like I expected, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I don't even want to go into details about the experience. You can see by my rating and it got 3 stars only because after getting a managers attention he compt. Some bread pudding and banana pudding. Please teach them how to make a true rum sauce. It was burnt you could see and taste it as well.
We showed up on a Monday an hour before closing and got the Texas Trinity with moist brisket, ribs, sausage, and fries. The brisket and fries were good, but nothing special. The ribs and sausage were below average. All we heard about was how fun and busy the concerts are, so the bbq has probably taken a back seat. With all the other good bbq spots in town, i don’t care to go back
It wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't a great experience either. First of all when we paid with cash and waited for change, she proceeded to tell us they carry NO change; therefore, do not give change. They need a sign that just says credit card only then, because you don't keep someone's change. We ordered fried pickles because I had read on a review that they were "to die for" - NOT. I would not order them again. The portion was a litte bit - served in one of those little paper boats. The beans looked delicious, but were way too spicy. The pulled pork was just okay, nothing to write home about. The ribs and okra were good. So out of all the items we ordered: fried pickles, sausage (had cheese in it which was not stated), ribs, pulled pork, potato salad, beans, fried okra, and Mexican street corn; we liked three. Recommend: corn, okra, ribs.
Updated review 10/25/25: this visit was disappointing, they went up in price, they barely gave me any brisket meat, it looked like half of what they usually give me, the Mac and cheese wasn't made the same either. I don't know if they changed management or something, but something was definitely different in a terrible way. I won't be coming back. The pictures are from the original review. Original 5 star review from 7 months ago: Got the chopped brisket sandwich and the mac & cheese. Everything was delicious! The workers are nice and they also bring your food to you, which is nice. The mac & cheese tasted great and is made just how i like it.
We ordered off Uber Eats and decided to give this place a try as me and my friend were travelling and since everything in Dallas seems to close early. We were hungry and we ordered brisket and ribs with cornbread and banana pudding. The meat didn’t have any bbq sauce whatsoever. The meats were dry and lacking any taste that you should get when you eat a bbq. Very disappointing I think the workers at this place were in a rush to go home and forgot that the key element in a BBQ is sauce and seasoning. Will never eat here if I visit Dallas again.
Worst place to eat bbq I honestly do not recommend it , the meat looks like it's atleast 3 days old the corn bread was cake corn bread and the cole slaw was made with a tons of dressings , I tried to support small businesses but ferris wheeler needs way way to much help in cooking bbq , the worst part is that I brought in 8 ppl to eat here
Stopped by for take out, cannot comment on noise or staff. Was very disappointed in the meal provided. It was a three meat meal with one side for $28 dollars, we added another side. The total cost was $40.00. This meal was $40! It was one slice of brisket that was mostly fat, ribs and a sausage. The quantity was not representative of Texas bbq at all. Will not be back.
I ordered the esquite and brisket sandwich. The meat was very dry and the esquite was SUPER salty, almost to the point that it was impossible to eat. This restaurant location was super convenient for us but we did not come back (I suppose that says everything). In all fairness the place is going under major renovation and we had a late lunch. The food might be usually better, I would not come back though.
