Chicken wings 4.6/5, dark meat 4.1/5, chicken tenders 3.9/5. Some of the best chicken wings I've ever had, n I've tried some popular spots here... I passed this place probably 15 times on my way to work n finally decided to stop, dnt think I'll get chicken wings from any other place, they really set the standard here. I mean they were so good I order a to go box. The jalapenos literally burst in my mouth, no place in the entire metro has given me that experience. They got some SERIOUS potential here,
Everything was hot and fresh this time!!! Was the best chicken I ever ate!!! Couldn't even talk we just ate! Love it when they're working ❤️ They just close the inside around 5 but I love eatn in the car lol
Two day visit. Drive thru and inside order. First time at this location and had to revisit it the next day. The 11:30a lunch order was hot and fresh but the 4:00p could've been better. However, I still enjoyed it but will have to discipline myself not to ruin my health/fitness journey. Haha...
Nicest voice you could hear took my order. Then the owner of that voive handed me a 4 piece tenders & waffel. Ive never eaten hear so I asked for whatever sauce is most spicy. My lil bit o syrup and a tender dipped in that tangy spicy sauce left my mouth oh so delighted. Ill for sure be back every time Im over this way. GREAT WORK!
This is NOT the Hall’s chicken I grew up with. It wasn’t greasy and it was perfectly seasoned. It was fresh and the fries were crispy and we didn’t wait long at all. The staff was was really friendly and it was very clean. It’s not a big place at all but I will definitely go back when in the area.
Not the best picture but I still had this much left after eating too tenders. Normally I get the five piece tender which is $10.39 plus tax. People normally go to Golden Chick or Chicken Express but trust me this place is a hidden gem. I would always go to the one in pleasant Grove until it burned down not long ago. Definitely worth the drive.
Felt rushed at the drive thru even tho it wasn't busy and, she was lacking customer care experience, chicken was served in a flimsy paper plate in a brown paper bag, I didn't like that at all, no napkins in the bag, I was not offered and condiment, I love to support BOB but this place need to do better with service 😑
Really good fried chicken. I liked the bread, pickles, and peppers. The chicken had nice crisp skin with light batter and natural flavor. The chicken was juicy without being greasy. The only slight disappointment were the fries. They were similar to McDonald’s fries but they were on top of the chicken and tasted soggy by the time I got home. Nevertheless, excellent chicken and I’ll return soon.
Was in the neighborhood and saw this place listed. Shows they have a long history, was in D magazine, so figured I would give them a shot. Easy to get to which can definitely be tough in the Medical District. Drive thru was wrapped around the building so I decided to go in. Very small inside. Very narrow and while they have a dining space, there is so waiting area for Togo orders so room was full of people waiting on their Togo orders, so plan on taking it with to eat in the car, which wasn’t a big deal to me. Staff seemed to be having a good time which is always nice to see as long as it doesn’t hinder the food, which it didn’t. Got the 4 tender meal which comes with two sauces(I got their boss sauce), fries, pickles and a pepper, which you don’t see anymore and I can assume these garnishes are an ode to the family history recipe. Tenders are huge! Very fresh and seasoned well. A little on the dry side and the batter was a bit greasy for my taste but that is more of my preference. Fries were skinnies, which are my favorite but was very disappointed that they had no salt. A nice kosher salt crisp would pair great with them. I don’t usually like dipping sauces, but theirs was good. Nothing too powerful and good heat, a little mild to be called Boss, I would say but good flavor. I don’t know if this ranks, “Seek them out” status but if you’re in the neighborhood it’s solid.
Everytime I pass by here I see the line so I decided to try it today. I had the 2 piece dark meat. Honestly it was just okay. The order comes with fries, two pieces of bread, pickles, and a jalapeno pepper. The chicken needed more flavor and the fries were way too salty. The portions were good though. I will give this place the benefit of the doubt and visit it one more time. I will update my review when I do.
Wonderful welcoming staff, good crispy breading, underwhelming flavor. We ordered dark meat, livers, and gizzards. It was exciting when we received the piping hot chicken but once we got past the pleasantly crispy exterior, we discovered that the juicy tender chicken was completely devoid of flavor. Oh, what a simple brine, marinade, buttermilk soak, or anything to introduce seasoning to the actual chicken would have done for this chicken. The gizzards were a little chewier than what I’ve had in other establishments. The lovers were fine. The fries were soft, greasy, and alternated between bland and salty (uneven salt distribution). Quantity is very good for the price.
The chicken was crispy but had NO SEASONING AT ALL. Not even a grain of salt.. The fries didn't even have salt on them. I did not even finish my meal. Was a total waste of $17. Will not eat here again. Although the lady that took my order was nice.
After finally bringing myself back to this restaurant after deciding long ago never to return - not only do their prices increase every full moon, but they seem to believe hours of operation are optional! They don't maintain consistent business hours at this location to begin with, but the last time I attempted buying a meal from them, I arrived 15 minutes before closing time, but they had already shut down for the evening. It's a sign of pure laziness when businesses can't even honor the hours that they claim to be operating. That frustrated me, but a couple of weeks ago I decided to give them one more try. There were 3 cars ahead of me in the drive thru. I waited about 10 minutes to place my order. All in all it took about 17 minutes for me to get to the window, pay and leave, but as I gave them my card to pay, I'm told they didn't get my order. Fine! I repeated my order to the guy at the window, but he tells me that's not good enough and that I would have to drive back to the back of the line and place my order at the box again. I was livid! It was there mistake for not getting my order, but instead of simply taking it at the window, they wanted me to get back in line and waste another 20 minutes of my life ordering food again. I told the guy I'm not doing that and drove off. It's a shame that they think so little of their customers that you can't make the smallest accommodation to help, you've got to inconvenience your customers to the fullest. I'm not giving this pathetic excuse for restaurant any more chances. There's only so much bad customer service I'm willing to accept.
First time here and will be my last. Been wanting to try but the energy from the drive thru lady was crazy. I was being rushed with my order when I asked about sauce she responded as if I was supposed to know about the sauces. Chicken was greasy like churches would've been better . For the price it's not worth it waffle was nasty . Well glad I got that out my system since I've been wanting to try for 8 months now .
For a place that only does one thing they're not very good at it. After probably about a full 3 minutes waiting at the intercom to order I finally received my order though the staff was kind enough the chicken was greasy and flavorless like another reviewer has said. I get better fried chicken at grandy's.
Chicken was flavorless. I had to really bite the jalapeño with every bite to add flavor. Church’s even Popeyes tastes better. So disappointed.
I tried to enjoy the chicken but to season not only the chicken with table salt but to also season the fries, pickles, jalapeño & the BREAD with TABLE SALT? Only thing that didn’t have salt was the lemonade. We as black people should know better, and should definitely not give this out to our people. I get a lil salt but sheez. That was 911 phone call waiting to happen if I had finished. Hoping to see some redirection soon.
Just left this Halls location and I noticed that when she handed me my chicken, my bag didn’t feel warm at all. I opened my bag up after I got back to work and sure enough, my chicken was cold. Not only was my chicken cold, but, it tasted like very old grease with a bad smell to it. I just wasted $16 on trash. Never again
I am from Louisiana. We know fried chicken, and this is not good fried chicken. It's tasteless and greasy. I was very disappointed! Edited to respond; I'm from S'port and I work at Hendrix for years. Southern Classic is where I set my standards. That location in Mansfield has The Best fried chicken for a fast food joint. I was disappointed in the lack of seasoning, I'm not sure where the Honey comes into play with this chicken, because it was not there. I'm just a Fat white guy trying to give honest reviews of food. God Bless!
