This place is absolutely worth going out of your way to visit. It's on the outskirts of Koreatown and is currently one of the only retail establishments in the area, but it would be a shame to let that deter you. The restaurant is simple and humble but clean, inviting and fairly spacious. The five stars for the atmosphere really comes from the experience provided by the proprieter himself. He's a gem of a human being, and his kind and jovial nature is infectious. He could be heard happily singing old Korean tunes in the kitchen throughout my visit, and I loved it. The dumplings themselves were all excellent. I grew up eating mandu (Korean dumplings), and these freshly-made morsels did not disappoint in the least. They were all amply stuffed, expertly crafted, appealing to look at and invariably tasty. If you like a spicier dipping sauce, they'll eagerly oblige with some added chili powder that does the job. The place is also BYOB, so bring a bottle of wine or soju and hang out for a bit so you can soak up this adorable man's positive energy. The sign in Korean out front simply states that the dumplings are "made with sincerity," and I think that sums this place up nicely. Simple food (but elegant in its own way) done well by people who like other people and take pride in their offerings. How often are you really finding that these days?
The dumplings were amazing! My mom thought she didn’t like dumplings, but I brought her here and she left wowed. 10/10. The owner is so nice too!
I would highly recommend. He makes all his dumplings handmade, from his family recipe. I love mandu and have had lots of different kinds but I could really taste the difference. It was really really good!
Delicious dumplings and soup! We got there just before lunch rush. As we left several arrived.
I stopped by Hong Dumpling a couple weeks back when visiting Dallas. Thosexare the best Dumplings I have ever had. They are handmade by the owner KP who puts in a lot of love, Clean, fresh ingredients. Great variety of dumplings. Wonderful sauce. I wish I lived in Dallas as I would go here once a week.
Man these mandus are delicious! They are authenticity homemade and you can taste the freshness. These Mandu pieces are huge as well, I wasn’t even able to finish them all cause I was stuffed!! Also the kindness of the owner does not go unnoticed. I’m glad SamPOV put Hong Mandu on insta to show people how amazing these dumplings are. Please go in and try them !
Went there for the first time when I went to visit my family in the states, and it was just the best. The owner was just a joy to interact with, and the way that he welcomes you in his place was something I'd never forget. The food was very delicious and the price was good. Thank you for the warm hospitality that you showed us, sir.
I live 2 states away, it will be on my bucket list to come try this place. But I seen the tik tok video and you can just tell when someone is so genuine and such a good deserving person. I pray that wealth and a happiness always comes your way kp. I will make the trip one day just to try your place!
Husband and wife owned! If you have the opportunity to go you will not be disappointed. The dumplings are fresh and SO mouth watering. The squid was also delicious, even as my first time trying! Highly recommend
The owner is truly one of the most delightful and kind-hearted individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting! Their warmth and hospitality make every visit feel like a special occasion. The food is absolutely mouth-watering and bursting with flavor, offering a delightful culinary experience that leaves you craving more. The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with the place being impeccably clean and free of any trash, creating a refreshing and pleasant environment. I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful place to everyone, as it is a perfect spot for enjoying delicious food and creating happy memories with friends and family!
Hong Dumplings House is an absolute gem. The dumplings are clearly handmade, perfectly tender wrappers with flavorful, juicy fillings and everything tastes fresh and authentic. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the service is friendly and efficient. It’s the kind of place you try once and immediately want to come back to. Highly recommend!
A truly amazing experience it gave a DFW family owned and operated cultural dining experience. The owner personally service and showed my children acceptance like he was their uncle. This place is focused on dumplings which is great. We ordered some fried and steamed the beef, shrimp, pork, and it was filling way more filling than your cheap Chinese takeout restaurant dumplings. Definitely coming back to support the small business and hopefully to see it grow over the years. Stop playing with yourself and be treated like family. Right here. There were multiple ethnicities of people dining in which just cemented how good the food was we ordered three sets of dumplings 6 each set and for 3 kids and a man and woman it was filling
Without a doubt some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had, and definitely the best in the DFW area that I’ve tried. We tried a few kinds of handmade dumplings and they were all amazing. Each one was packed with rich, savory umami flavor and a bite of refreshing green onion. I highly recommend the traditional steamed mandu, the shrimp mandu, and the squid mandu. All were phenomenal. The owners were also incredibly kind and welcoming when we came in. This is a new favorite spot for me, and I can’t wait to go back soon!
I’ve lived less than five minutes away from here since it opened, this was the first time I stopped by and I’m so mad I didn’t try this place sooner. The owner was incredibly sweet and you can tell he puts a lot of work into what he does. These dumplings were some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had. They were full of flavor, and he definitely doesn’t hold back on the amount of meat in each one. Safe to say I’ll be a regular from now on.
My friend and I came here for a quick bite to eat in the car and we ordered pickup. We were just driving through and saw that the reviews were good. They didn’t lie! This was the best mandy I have ever had and the best food i’ve eaten in weeks😭 The owner was the sweetest man in the entire world and my friend and I literally turned our car around to go back in and thank him and leave a hefty tip. He deserves it! Thank you for the amazing food! We got the shrimp mandu, kimchi mandu, pork mandu, and snowflake pork mandu! 20/10 across the board!
Just discovered Hong Dumpling House with my daughter, and I’m already planning our next visit. The dumplings are handmade, juicy, and bursting with flavor—easily some of the best I’ve had in Dallas. You can really taste the freshness and care in every bite. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff was warm and welcoming. If you’re a dumpling lover, this spot is a must-try.
We went here for lunch to try out some mandu (Korean dumplings). The owner was so friendly and gave us suggestions on which ones to try. We got the galbi dumplings, Kim chi dumplings and the squid dumplings. They were bigger than I expected and very filling. So delicious. 18 dumplings for two people is alot and we had leftovers. Will definitely go back and try the other flavors.
From Cincinnati Ohio and was in for a conference, this was one of the only restaurant within walking distance it seemed like. We went it and was greeted by a nice man, since it was our first time we asked him to order us his top three favorite dishes, and WOW the food did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing, and the owner was so kind. He checked in on us and we made great conversation with him. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through, or even if you have to drive a bit out of the way…do it; it worth it. The owner is very obviously passionate and confident in his restaurant :)
Was curious to try after seeing raving reviews. (Many who left a review without visiting the restaurant it seems). I want to share an honest review of the restaurant from service to food. I walked in and ordered a fried pork mandu and a steamed kimchi mandu. It took about 12-14 min to get my food with no one in front of me. The owner was very kind and friendly. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and simple. A pretty casual place to grab lunch at. When I went there were two staff members, but expect a longer wait time if you go during a lunch rush. As for the food, the fried pork mandu were very delicious. The kimchi mandu was also really good though nothing special. The pieces were of a considerable size, however, I am not sure about the price. I think it was about 9.99-10.99 per order and the prices aren't on the menu so you'd have to ask to see what the price is. You'd never know if the price is suddenly different just by looking at the menu board at the restaurant. Serving portions might be difficult if you're not coming with others. I think 6 pieces for one person might not be filling enough if you're hungry, but two orders would be too much. (No picture bc I ate mine during the drive back home) If I'm being honest you could probably get more food for your money if you bought the frozen ones from Hmart. Frying them might be a bit difficult to get right on your own but you'd have no problem steaming them. Anyway what I am trying to get at is that I wouldn't go out of my way to go here unless you're already in the area for something else. It's always great to support a local business, so I'd check it out if you ever have the chance. It'd be a great place to eat at after making a run to the local Hmart or eat here before hitting up the karaoke places further east on Royal Ln :)
I came here after seeing this place blow up on my instagram. I was very disappointed. We ordered the beef dumplings, pork snow flake dumplings, and the owner recommended the kimchi dumplings. The kimchi dumplings were horrible. I love the taste of kimchi but couldn’t stand the taste of the dumplings . The beef dumplings were pretty disappointing too. The pork dumplings were the most tolerable and were average at best. This place is overhyped for sure and for the $48 we spent on 3 types of dumplings it definitely wasn’t worth it. I definitely would not recommend!
