Opinions de India Chaat Cafe Dallas
I’ve been coming here for 6 years and have never once been disappointed. The food is always so flavorful, my personal favorite is the Chicken Vindaloo with rice and a side of garlic naan. The service here is also amazing, it feels like having a meal with family. I would highly recommend bringing family or friends to enjoy a meal here.
Great spot for authentic chaat! The food is consistently delicious and full of flavor. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend if you're craving some good street food in Dallas! I also like their veggies wraps!
Very pleasant staff and great food. Great portion on chicken biryanis. Butter chicken was melt in your mouth perfect especially with the naan bread.
I have been eating here for years and the food doesn't disappoint. I still think it's one of the best places to get Indian food in the Dallas area. This is Indian comfort food. I can't really comment on the heat of the food because I'm not really into that. If you like the flavor and you want it mild they understand. Chicken tikka masala which is our favorite is creamy and savory as it should be. Spinach paneer for example is also a perfect dish. Not everyone likes the same type of Indian food. I've tried a lot of different Indian places, and this is at the top of the list.
Absolutely amazing food — truly tasted like homemade cooking. We ordered chaat papdi chaat, chole bhature, and aloo paratha, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. You can really taste the care and authenticity in the food. It reminded us of home-style meals, not restaurant food. We drove over 10 miles just to come here, and it was 100% worth it. Highly recommend — we will definitely be back.
I love this place. My sister and I have been coming here together for 13 years and I've made my way through quite a bit of their menu including: Chicken tikka masala Vindaloo (various protein/veg) Aloo matar Keema matar Vegetable korma Tarka daal Butter chicken Garlic chicken Saag paneer Stuffed naan Chicken wrap Desi chicken pizza I have no complaints. In fact, l've enjoyed the vindaloo, aloo matar, keema matar, and vegetable korma so much that they inspired me to try making them myself at home. I still haven't nailed the vindaloo (one of these days, dang it!), but l've got the other ones. Service is quick and friendly. Prices are very fair for what you get and they always have great specials on the board. Thank you for all the wonderful meals, India Chaat.
I had an incredible experience at this Indian restaurant. The moment I walked in, the place smelled amazing—rich spices, fresh naan, everything you’d want. The staff was super friendly and helped me pick a few dishes since it was my first time there. The food itself was insanely good. The butter chicken was creamy and flavorful, the tikka had a perfect smoky char, and the garlic naan was soft with just the right amount of crisp. Everything came out hot and fresh. Portion sizes were generous too, so you definitely get your money’s worth. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, not too loud, and perfect for either a casual meal or a nicer dinner. You can tell they care about quality and presentation. Overall, this is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve tried. If you’re looking for bold flavors, great service, and a really satisfying meal, this is the spot. Highly recommend!
I recently visited India Chat Café, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The food was bursting with authentic Indian flavors — each bite reminded me of the vibrant street food lanes of Mumbai and Delhi. The pani puri was crisp and tangy, the samosa chat, Papri chat, and Dahi Puri had the perfect crunch, and the choley Bhature was rich, buttery, and full of flavor. The service was quick and courteous, and the ambiance was cozy yet full of energy, making it a perfect place for both casual hangouts and family dinners. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and pay attention to every detail in presentation and taste.
India Chaat Cafe is one of our go-to spots in the neighborhood! The food is consistently delicious. My fiancé loves the papri chaat, and I’m a big fan of their samosas and saag paneer. Be sure to check out their daily specials; they often have great deals. The owners are kind and welcoming, which makes every visit even better.
India Chaat Cafe is a gem for casual dining. The food is delicious, especially the chaat, it’s flavorful and fresh. The puris they use are super crispy and add the perfect crunch. Also don’t skip the gulab jamun, it was warm, soft and just the right amount of sweetness. The owner and staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, which adds to the whole experience. Whether you’re craving street-style snacks or a relaxed Indian meal, this place is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend!
India Chaat Café in TX absolutely nailed it with their Golgappe! Crisp, perfectly hollow puris served with chilled, tangy, and spicy water that hits all the right notes—just like the streets of Delhi. The flavors are authentic, the presentation is clean, and every bite is an explosion of nostalgia. You can tell they put heart into the prep, and the freshness is unbeatable. If you’re craving real desi street food vibes in Texas, this is the spot. Highly recommend for all chaat lovers!
It was our first time here, and after today’s experience, I can say with certainty that we will return. I am already planning what to order on our next visit. My Mom and I met my BFF here because we had one heck of a hankering for chaat. Visited on a Tuesday evening around 6:30PM and there were several tables occupied. Order at the counter and the owner’s family serves you at the table of your choosing. I would imagine this place gets pretty packed and crazy on the weekends so I will try to time our next visit prior to the lunch or dinner rush. Walking in, you are immediately taken by the aromatic spices wafting through the air. There is also an electronic Menu Board with easy-to-read sections of items and their corresponding descriptions to guide you. If you are placing a to-go order, you pay at the register. If you are dining in, there are table numbers and you can choose where you want to sit and you pay after you finish your meal. Mom and I ordered a Mango Lassi each and shared the Pani Puri, Samosa Chaat, and Paneer Pakora - all excellent. Came with mint and coriander green chutney and red chili chutney. My BFF ordered the Papri Chaat and Chicken Pakora. Years ago, when I graduated from TWU in 2007, we had eaten chaat at Taj Grocers in Richardson - it was the only legit and real deal place at the time, and I have been on the hunt for something similar ever since. Most establishments, over the years, seemed to have missed the mark, but India Chaat Cafe wowed us and absolutely delivered. The service was adequate and the food was ideal in presentation, taste, and true to my culture, heritage, and roots. The ambience was traditional and inviting with a vibrant burst of energy to the space. Definitely somewhere you would want to come to relax and unwind. We will be adding this establishment to our list of restaurant rotations whenever we are in the Plano/North Dallas Area. I wish them all the success and will be returning regularly for other Menu items in the future.
We come in at least once a week and have done so for 11 years. The owners Harwinder and her family are so welcoming. They are attentive. Help with describing options if I ever try something other than my all time favorite Paneer Tika Masala. I have garlic Naan and rice with it. We top it is with Ras Malai. Perfection!!
My husband and I have been loyal customers of this restaurant for 10 incredible years! We always order the Jain Papri Chaat (with extra chhole). They're also happy to accommodate our requests, including making Jain sabzi on demand. Today, we tried the Kadai Paneer, and it was absolutely delicious! We can't recommend this place enough!
Really cool and yummy “Indian Chaat + more” place. The food was very nice, fresh and the crispy stuff was nice and crispy (usually an indicator of well-made). We ordered Fish Pakora (Tilapia), Bhelpuri, Pani Puri, Samosa Chaat and a few other dishes. Everything was tasty and reminded us of the yummy Indian Street food you get in Bombay (Mumbai). The Lady at the cash register was very helpful, nice and accommodating. Patiently answered all questions regarding allergies. The restaurant had very good ambience and very clean. Definitely a 5-star+ place. I would highly recommend it! we are looking forward to visiting again.

I’m from Houston, and this food is amazing and better than any I’ve eaten in Houston. While visiting family in Dallas, I ALWAYS make a point of eating at Chaat India! The food is piping hot, and port…
I had one of the specials this evening. We were in a group. I think they forgot mine, which means that all my dining partners were well into their food before mine got to me, even though I was not the last one order. The good news is the food was really good and I am happy to say that they finally decided to give me a full credit due to the lateness. I only requested half. That's what good management does.
The service was pretty odd. We were served the chicken, and then it took a while for all the rice and Naan dishes to come out, and then the shrimp came. So we didn't know if the dish was just chicken or that the shrimp would cool because the chicken cooled down a bit. You know what they say about places with bad service, the food is good--and it was. The appetizer balls were very sweet, so I recommended saving that for dessert. I can't wait to come back and try some more dishes. Also, the spices were all over the air, so if you are sensitive, it will take some time to adjust. I coughed a lot when I got there, and my throat eventually settled down after the mango Lassi.
Staff is very helpful and approachable. food has always been great whenever we drop by.

Quick service. Food was good. Ordered samosa chat, Paani puri and paneer butter masala. It comes with one naan. service was super quick. Naan was soft and I liked it.
i had chicken pakora and butter chicken curry. the chicken pakora did not look like regular chicken pakora (it was just like a fried flat piece of chicken), and the butter chicken sauce was not that great. i cant put my finger on it but it was just not that exciting to eat. my friends got the paneer roll and it did not have too much spice. however the mango lassi was really good!! the mango lassi is the only thing I'd recommend. service was good. the silverware is self serve. also the soda beverages. overall would not come here again just bc the food was disappointing and not what i expected from an indian restaurant.
We went to this place upon recommendation from a family member. The restaurant was easy to find. It is in a nice location. Plenty of parking option. Parking for Special friends are right next to the restaurant and the ramp is easy to go up. Inside it is spacious to move a wheel chair. Food was ok. I was disappointed with the appetizers. We chose some chaat. But it had no zing. My papri chat had no tamarind sauce or mint sauce inside. Whatever was on the top. I was shocked to see this. And it did not taste good at all. I requested for some hot spice and they gave me something that was just not what I asked for. The dahi puri was ok. We took 2 more chaat and they were just ok. We also had the chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chicken karahi, tandoori roti and nan. Well the roti and nan tasted the same. Nan had no fluffiness and roti was too dry. Butter chicken and tandoori chicken literally tasted the same. Butter chicken had a sweet flavor while the chicken tikka masala had a sour flavor. We ordered lassi and gulab jamun. They tasted good. Restaurant is overall clean and tidy. Utensil and cutlery’s were good. Bathroom was clean too. I like the fact that there is two separate bathroom man and woman. The restaurant is spacious enough for wheel chair friends. They can easily move around. I did not like the staff. The lady in the front was very cold. She did not have a welcoming vibe which I thought was sad for a food business. My family member said a year ago when they came the lady had a positive vibe. I hope everything is going well in her personal life. The staff that brought food acted un the same manner. Moreover, when we were done eating and finishing the hot tea nobody came to pick up the dirty dishes. It stayed in the table just like that. The staff seemed very much uninterested and unmotivated to do anything. I personally don’t like to go to places like this.
This is a good place to come to for a quick bite. It's not the most flavorful at first, but if you add in the sweet chutney, it definitely gets better!! The cafe was clean and staff was friendly!
I visited Indian Chat Cafe last night while traveling from Michigan to Texas. During my trip I tried many Indian and Asian restaurants in Dallas and Irving, but this was the worst experience I had. The restaurant was almost empty , the woman at the reception had a very rude attitude and was not even willing to provide a simple glass of water. I have visited many Indian restaurants across Michigan and Texas, but I have never seen staff behave this way. She mentioned that she has been running the restaurant for 20 years, but with this kind of service it is not surprising the place is often empty. Unfortunately, the food quality was also disappointing. I would recommend driving 5–6 minutes to another restaurant instead, as there are much better options nearby.
