Opinions de La Ventana Dallas
Stopped by La Ventana and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the staff were friendly from the moment I walked up. The frozen margaritas were excellent, cold, refreshing, and exactly what you want with great Mexican food. But the real highlight was the tacos. Absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, the flavors were spot-on, and everything tasted fresh. Great people, great atmosphere, strong margaritas, and seriously good tacos. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.
Taqueria La Ventana is hands down one of my favorite casual spots in Dallas. It’s simple, fast, and consistently good. The walk-up counter vibe keeps it laid back, but the food punches way above its weight. The tacos are the star. Fresh tortillas, well-seasoned meat, and just the right amount of toppings without trying to overcomplicate things. The carne asada is solid, the al pastor has that perfect balance of savory and sweet, and the barbacoa is the kind that makes you pause mid-bite. Their elote and chips with queso round it out perfectly. The patio atmosphere is great too — relaxed, lively, and perfect for meeting up with family or friends. It feels authentic without trying too hard, and the margaritas don’t disappoint either. If you want legit street-style tacos in Dallas without the fuss, this is the move. Simple, flavorful, and consistently great.
I had a life changing experience here, ate the best street tacos I have ever had in my life. No exaggeration, the food is PHENOMENAL but what really sets this place apart from any other restaurant is the outstanding service. Maribel and Michelle were AMAZING and I genuinely was having the worst day until I met Maribel. She was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and gave us perfect recommendations for food and drinks all with a contagious smile on her face. I will be coming here very often and if I were you I would make the trip.
The BEST guacamole. It was so fresh and cold. The small area of the restaurant is very cute and cozy. It is outside. The staff were all so kind. I got the quesadilla and added in chicken. It was very good. The prices are cheap!
This was a random find, that was absolutely 🔥!! Paid for parking then after realizing that this restaurant validated parking... #Winning Music was playing, you could smell the food from the parking lot... This place is a total vibe! I can imagine this place is popping when the weather cools down a bit. Went to order and asked for recommendations... The Barbacoa Tacos came highly recommended, so I got 2 and I grabbed a Jarritos Mandarin Soda. But he time I found a seat and got settled, here came the food. The tacos looked good and tasted incredible!!! LET'S GOOOO!!! I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend! ⭐
Taqueria La Ventana is hands down one of the best spots for authentic Mexican food! The food is absolutely delicious—fresh, full of flavor, and made with care. The drinks are just as impressive, perfectly balanced and refreshing. What really sets this place apart is the customer service. Eduardo and Adrian go above and beyond to make sure every guest feels welcome. They’re attentive, friendly, and truly make the dining experience special. If you’re looking for amazing food, great drinks, and top-notch service, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!
Great Authentic Mexican Food in Downtown Dallas! First time in downtown Dallas and I saw their reviews and menu. There is public parking by the resturant and easy to walk to. You order at "la ventana" (window) and find a seat. There are many coverings and it is dog friendly so our little dog got to sit under the table with us. We had the tacos de pastor and carne asada. We also had elote, chips and guacamole. I also tried the aguas frescas: jamica and horchata. Delicious on this warm day. Everyone that I interacted with was very nice and checked in on us. They have different salsas available and you can ask for takin. There are alcoholic beverages too and this would be a fun place with friends in the evening.
The perfect place for any occasion! Whether it’s happy hour, a casual dinner, drinks with friends, or watching the sunset, this spot delivers every time. Eduardo, Arturo, and Jason are amazing — their energy, friendliness, and attention to detail truly make all the difference. You can feel how much they care about making your experience fun. Definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for great food, great drinks, and even better service!
Staying downtown for the volleyball national tournament and did a quick search for local Tex Mex place This place had amazing reviews and we love it as well. I had the brisket taco and shrimp taco as well as elotes. My wife had chicken tacos. The salsa and chips were probably our fav due to the high quality salsa
This spot was on our list for top notch breakfast tacos. My god, it did not disappoint. The chorizo was perfectly seasoned. I assume it was made in house. The tortillas were the lightest fluffiest flour tortillas I’ve ever had. Breakfast tacos were only $2.50. The courtyard seating area was cute and fun. The sauces were also incredible.

Good food at a reasonable price - Good choices for vegetarians also. Guacamole is a bit of a joke if you add on as they don’t give you much so don’t bother. The tables are located outside so on a hot 🥵 muggy day it can be quite uncomfortable even with the umbrellas. The aggressive grackles and the flies are in constant battle with you over your food. Parking is available nearby and they will validate upto 2 hours. The lady at the cashier’s desk had a hard time understanding English and the loud music doesn’t help. Had to remind them that I had ordered an additional item (rice) before they quickly obliged. No restrooms.
Nut allergy friendly - the salads have nuts, everything else good! DO NOT USE THE PARKING LOT QR.. there is a 2 hour parking validation at the restaurant. Outdoor seating only. Order at the window, sit down. They've got guest wifi though! Time to Food: 6 Minutes I went looking for somewhere to spend my $25 off $50 inKind credit and applied it easily here, getting a flavored margarita, churros, and 14 tacos. Took a bunch of tacos to go while I was in town for a conference, ate some tacos while there. They're a brick and mortar spot but considering they had my 14 tacos ready in 5-6 minutes, definitely premade meats. And the quality was unfortunately reflecting it. Overall - all of the corn tacos felt a little undercooked, a little too much bite. I only tried the green sauce and honestly couldn't distinguish any flavor notes from it, one of the weaker salsas I've had. Al Pastor (3.5/5): Oily but decent in substance. The flavors were good. Carne Asada (3/5): The meat was a little dry, but the biggest downside was just that there wasn't enough of it. Calabacitas (3/5): Same as the carne asada, just not enough substance to the taco. Flavors were fine. Churro (4.5/5): The redemption of the meal?? They did forget my churro, and it came out warm and delicious. Soft inside, crispy outside - actually an incredible churro here! Margarita (4/5): Stayed frozen, so a well blended margarita. Could've used a little extra flavor for the $2 spent extra. Altogether a nice spot for a fast and decent hangout at a reasonable price (and huge bonus for taking inKind credits), but I've had much better street tacos at their price point from trucks. 4/5 for inKind value, 3/5 without it.
I was craving tacos and wanted to switch it up a bit so I tried this place. I’m glad I did because the tacos were bursting with flavor! The only downside is that the barbacoa was way too fatty. The meat I was able to get was tender and flavorful. I also enjoyed the elotes and margarita! The patio was very spacious and had jenga on some of the tables. Perfect setting for a group but also great for singles!

In the mood for breakfast tacos… this maybe satisfying if you love to eat pork or do not have any food allergies .. of course go on a nice day outside, it doesn’t appear to have any inside seating… everything is outside including to order… note: the have heating lamps… I ordered the potato egg and cheese $2.50ea (very delicious) and the brisket egg and cheese… $5each (and to be honest I did not eat it because I’m not sure that it was truly beef… ) I parked easily and got to the window and ordered… I appreciated the convenience of the parking QR code by the window….stick to the menu… the ladies will talk about you in Spanish if they think you do not know the language… I waited a short period before getting the bag of food and made a 15 min drive to the house… surprised food was still warm… I will not return because I don’t think they respect food boundaries for does whom may not eat certain foods… weirded out that she just made up a name for my order… good thing no one else was there
The service was ok, nothing spectacular but thankfully nothing negative. Music was great, but the food lacked flavor in everything. Had a taco plate, side of rice, and salsa trio. Was hoping for a more authentic taqueria, this was one of the closest with a decent rating, but the only flavor was in the salsa. Had to wave off flies the entire time. Even the horchata was watered down. Went around 4pm
First time here wouldn't recommend it. Food had no flavor and carne asada was raw waste of money for the food.
We came to eat here knowing we’d be seated outside in the cold, but knew they had those outside heaters. We ordered and got our tacos shortly after…already cold. We asked for the heater by our seat to be turned on. Waited and waited and nothing. We tried turning it on ourselves and it wouldn’t lite. Asked again, and the same guy said he’d come out and turn it on. He came out this time but after trying to turn it on said it’s not functioning and told us there’s another table we can eat at with one turned on. Mind you I’m trying to take all the onions out of my tacos that I did not ask for. One of my bistec tacos had LOTS OF FAT AND UNEDIBLE pieces of meat. When I got rid of those pieces it was half a taco. Same applied to my barbacoa. Did I mention the tacos came out cold off the bat? We decided to just eat quickly and leave versus move. A couple comes to sit nearby the same heater and asks the guy cleaning up if he can turn it on. He tries and sees it’s out of propane. He goes and brings a filled tank and starts it up. The original guy I asked comes out to talk to these people, shaking their hand and chitchatting. So my point is, they’ll feed you cold tacos, in the cold and not bother to put in any effort to provide warmth unless they personally know you. I hate that I spent my money here and left with the feeling I have.
