My husband and I and (14 of our friends) went to dinner last night to celebrate a friend’s bday.. we absolutely loved it here! The staff were so friendly and attentive. They took care of our table perfectly!!! The food was delicious!!!! They prepped the bday cake for us and lite the candles and then cut it for us as well. It was a great evening, with friend at an amazing restaurant
The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the hospitality was beyond compare. I had just gotten off of work and the owner himself came to get me as I was headed outto my car. I was being impatient and didn't want to wait the 10min he said it would take to open up a table. I had my family start to leave when he came outside the restaurant and told us they had a table ready in just a second. I was in a rush to find some dinner for my family and he went out of his way to get us a table even though he didn't have to. All throughout dinner, the service and hospitality was unmatched. I will definitely be bringing as many people as I know here for as many family occasions as I can. Thank you Bernie, for the incredible service, hospitality, and amazing cuisine. Definitely a forever restaurant.
Randomly stopped here for lunch with my husband and let’s just say I’m glad we made a U turn to this place. We ordered the cilantro queso fajitas and nachos Mexicanos 100000/10. I’m mad I haven’t been here before. My only regret is not trying this sooner.
First time here and was amazing. I loved the customer service and our server. Unfortunately, I did not get his name, but he was great, and food is delicious .
Our first visit tonight. What a fabulous surprise. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I got the Americano Plate. Best sour cream chicken enchilada I've had in decades and OMG, the tamale with the most amazing tomatillo sauce (to die for). The salsa, guacamole and queso were equally great! Needless to say we will be back soon. Oh and my spicy jalapeño margarita was superb.
My new favorite Mexican restaurant. I was blown away by the attention to detail as soon as I walked in. I was blown away by the ambiance, the music (Gloria Trevi, Juan Gabriel, etc), the decorations, the color temperature of the lighting, the accent tile used on the kitchen wall, the color of the napkins, the style of the cocktail glasses, the decoration around the bar, the wallpaper, the professionalism of the staff, and of course, most importantly, the food itself. Our table of three each ordered a different entree and we were all delighted with our choices. I got the cilantro queso steak fajitas. I was a bit skeptical about having queso on my fajitas, since I tend to be pretty traditional… but it was delicious and had a little bit of spice to it as well. Strongly recommend their traditional margaritas and mango margaritas. Can’t wait to go back!
Absolutely incredible food and service, they are so attentive and friendly. I had a wonderful experience and the food was fresh, authentic and a great portion size.
We visited for the first time today. It was relatively quiet on this Sunday afternoon. The food was quite good and came fairly quickly. When we ordered the kids’ food while ordering drinks, they brought it out first, which was good because it’s why we ordered it early. The restaurant is small but cozy. The decor is very minimal. The bar is very short with little seating space. The price range is more like $10-35 but many of their options are around $20. The complimentary chips and salsa were good with the salsa being about medium spicy. The staff were attentive, friendly, polite, and professional. Overall, we were happy with the experience.
If you like good TexMex, you have to try Lalo's. Reminds me of Christina's or MiCocina. Good start - chips and salsa and bean dip - nice. Sweet tea was good. Ordered their lunch special - chicken enchilada, brisket taco, small salad, rice and beans - right around $10 - very pleased with the meal. My friend had the chicken quesadillas - lots of sour cream and guac included! Nice atmosphere, excellent service, good food.

We arrived less than an hour before closing time, on a Monday night, but the staff welcomed us and treated us like valued customers. The food was excellent. My husband and I shared the steak fajitas, and not only was the steak good, but the grilled onions underneath were fabulous. We ate every scrap of them. Our server, Austin, was very attentive. He kept our water glasses full, which is no easy task since my son and I both drink a lot of water when we eat. Austin noticed a minor issue with our order and fixed it before we even saw it. He’s a real asset to your restaurant.
With restaurant prices being so high, expectations have increased. We have been so disappointed in our favorite places, decided to try someplace new. SO GLAD. The restaurant was so clean, the staff was friendly, and professional. I had leftover enchilada and it was boxed by staff. The food was great, fresh, seasoned perfectly. Sometimes food can be greasy, over salted, not pretty. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes. The guacamole was great, the chips were amazing (that greasy thing), the meal was beautifully plated, the service was great. I highly recommend you try this restaurant - I only wish we had tried is long ago. It's my new go-to place to eat. You will not be disappointed.
Austin took great care of our table! The kids loved the food. And the drinks were good.
We were around the area and stopped by. BEST DECISION. Service was excellent, food was amazing, everything was perfect taste. I will definitely make the drive from Cedar Hill just to eat here again. 100/10. Thank you
This restaurant serves delicious Mexican food! I highly recommend it. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. If you are looking for authenticity Mexican food, Lalo’s is the place. The food came out quickly and had great presentation. The service was exceptional. The waiter and staff were very attentive. Everyone made us feel welcomed. The restaurant is very clean and plays great Latin music.

Love the food - great quality and such good flavor everything. Definitely a favorite place for good Mexican food for both my wife and I. Eat in or to-go are both great!

Service was on point. Servers are always neat and clean cut. Love the refried black beans that come w your chips and salsa. Salsa is medium spicy. Queso was a little runny but still good. Custom veggie enchiladas were tasty n loaded w veggies but lacked cheese to keep the veggies together n for the final savory touch. Taco salad...amazing. Great presentation of all the items.
Our most recent visit was a bit interesting. We had heard from someone about being charged $25 for a cup of queso with brisket, so we decided to order the Chile con queso listed at $7.95, please add brisket. Well... Sure enough we got the bill and it was $24.90 for the cup of queso! The waitress attempted to justify the charge but when we asked for a manager, she went over to the register and adjusted the charge to the correct price. Other than this queso overcharge, the food is very good. Just check you bill before you pay.
I stopped here while my son was getting a haircut next door. The food was excellent! I had the ceviche and caldo soup.

Great fajita nachos. Carne asada is great too, as well as the ceviche.
Standard fair texmex with an emphasis on decor. Flavors were fine, nothing bad, nothing amazing. Needs more Mex less Tex to really standout, but as a place to go and listen to pop music and sip cocktails, it's fine.

The review is really only based upon the price. The food was delicious. The service was fine no issues at all. I just felt what they were charging for where it was is probably a little high. an $18.95 margarita that’s in a water glass made with 1800 Repo tequila is probably a bit much and then the fajitas for two was really a chicken breast a flank or skirt steak on a pile of sautéed onions for 50 bucks just feels like they probably need to drop their price a bit and play in that segment. just my opinion. Also the margarita had a funky after taste, I think it was from the ice. But really everything was good…

Not sure if I caught them on a bad night but I ordered the fajitas and they were the worst I’ve had anywhere. The meat was tough and chewy, even the shrimp tasted pre cooked and had no flavor. Probably would’ve been better off buying freezer section microwaveable fajitas. The best part of the meal was the guacamole. Spent $150 for a very mediocre meal. Wouldn’t go back.
The food was average to salty and greasy, not the best Mexican food I’ve had. The skillet caso was literally a skillet of hot oil. The food is definitely not good value for the money. It was served lukewarm, the brisket was very salty, and with the mixed beverage tax, one mango margarita was $17.00. On the menu, the “classic lunch” was listed as $14.95, on the check it was $16.95. By far that was the most expensive, and one of the worse Mexican restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. They’re more expensive than Villa Real in Las Colinas, a true “fine” Mexican restaurant. It’s definitely overpriced! The young waiter was very polite. There was no long wait because at 2 o’clock on a Sunday, I was the only customer. The ambiance is not very inviting, with poor lighting and decor. For 2, our bill came to $80 + $16 tip for two enchiladas lunches, one appetizer, one Margarita and one tasteless lemonade. I won’t be going back, and I don’t recommend it.
