Moriya Shokudo is a popular spot for authentic Japanese ramen and curry. Customers rave about the rich and flavorful broths, especially in the Tonkotsu and Jiro ramen. The curry, often paired with omelette rice and chicken karagee, is also a hit. Service is generally friendly and efficient.

Opinions de Moriya Shokudo Dallas
This place has officially become one of my go-to spots. My favorites are the Spicy Jiro Ramen, Fried Oyster, and Curry with Tonkatsu. Everything is just so delicious, and honestly, it’s my favorite ramen restaurant by far. The servers are incredibly friendly, and every visit has such a cozy, welcoming vibe. If you haven’t been yet, I absolutely highly recommend checking it out!
Found this local spot when looking for Japanese comfort food. After reading their website, knew we had to swing by. Staff immediately sat us down, a table for 2 at 5pm on a Friday evening. We had the takoyaki as an appetizer, sizzling hot and SO flavorful. My partner ordered the double cheese pork katsu curry and I ordered the pork katsudon with miso. The curry was aromatic, flavorful, cheesy and well balanced with the crispy katsu. It was my first time trying katsudon and will definitely be back for more. The umami flavor was addictive. It was nice seeing the owner active in the restaurant, and all of the staff acknowledge every single guest who walked in! Cannot recommend this local restaurant enough. My partner and I are very lucky to be locals and look forward to becoming regulars! Thank you!
Moriya’s homemade curry is soooooo good. It absolutely hits the spot for me every time… rich, comforting, and packed with deep umami flavor. And their frothy tonkotsu broth is so unique too… creamy, flavorful, and just delicious. Beware that seating is limited and service can be slow at peak hours.
Stopped by for dinner and everything was excellent. The ramen was rich and comforting, the curry was full of deep flavor, and you can tell the food is made with care. Service was solid and the overall experience was great. Always happy to support local spots that are doing things the right way. Definitely worth a visit.
We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Saturday to a completely packed house, which felt like a promising start. Hearing so much Japanese spoken among both the staff and the guests added to the sense that we were in for something authentic. Even though the ramen gets all the hype, I couldn’t pass up the omurice curry since it’s not something you find often in DFW. The chicken karaage curry omurice did not disappoint. I ordered the spicy version, though it could have used some more heat. The karaage was seasoned beautifully and incredibly tender. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try the ramen next time!
No wait for a table for 2 on a weeknight. I ordered the (shin) Jiro style ramen and it did not disappoint. Brightly colored spicy broth on wavy noodles. On top is a mountain of bean sprouts and cabbage with 2 thin slices of cashu. If you love bean sprouts and spicy ramen, this is the dish for you.
Some of the best Japanese food Dallas has to offer. The curry has a unique spice with a hint of tomato in it that creates a fresh yet rich flavor. They also have provide a bowl of self served pickled ginger on the side which most places don't. The ramen broth looks and tastes amazing with a rich and savory broth. The char on the chasu is a nice touch too. I would definitely recommend this place and go back again
I ordered the curry with omelette rice and chicken Karagee. The curry was very good. It had a bunch of spice and was quite flavorful. The chicken was also tender and well seasoned. Most place don’t season their karagee ij comparison. Additionally, we came at a busy tome but food came out super quick and tasted great! 5/5
If Dallas has been on the struggle bus when it comes to truly great ramen, this spot might just be the driver who finally knows where they’re going. I’ve slurped my way through nearly every ramen shop in the city, only to be met with broths so watery they could pass as flavored tea or aromas so gamey they should come with a warning label. But this place? Completely different story. I ordered the Black Double Garlic Tonkotsu, and let me tell you—this bowl is the hero Dallas ramen didn’t know it needed. The roasted garlic and black garlic oil tag-team to deliver a knockout umami punch, while the broth hits that dreamy trifecta: creamy, frothy, and beautifully balanced with zero off-putting smell. It’s the kind of bowl that makes you pause mid-slurp just to appreciate your life choices. Bonus points: it’s cozy and conveniently close to UTD, making it dangerously easy to become a regular. This is officially my go-to ramen spot, and I’d recommend it to anyone who believes soup can, in fact, be a personality.
First time trying this place. Friendly staff, clean and nice decor. Super delicious food — we had the tonkatsu ramen and my husband got spicy tonkatsu with the pork on the lunch specials. I’ve never been to Japan so I can’t speak to the authenticity but the rich, frothy broth was so good! Would recommend, and we’ll be back.
Dropped by with some friends when an event ended nearby and was pleasantly surprised. I’ve had plenty of Americanized ramen and been to Japan myself and this place impressed me more than expected. I got the Tonkotsu mild and it wasn’t spicy at all to my delight. It had spinach, which wasn’t traditional, but I enjoyed it all the same. The chashu was good (my only complaint is that I was having trouble biting it off!), the broth was rich, and the noodles had good texture. Plus it was slightly cheaper than other ramen in the area! The vibe was cute, mildly traditional ramen shop with Ghibli movies playing and smelling great. I’d say the service was a little slow and inattentive as my only complaint. I’ll for sure be bringing others back!
Amazing, TOP notch service! HUGE shout out to Eric, gave great suggestions, very attentive and made my wife and I's evening even more memorable. BIG HUGE EXTRA shout out to Tadashi who can make AMAZING RAMEN AND CURRY. First off this Ramen Does Not Mess around. Everything about it is fantastic I usually go for the garlic or regular Tonkotsu Ramen. The love of my life loves omurice, guess what this place has the best omurice beef curry this side of the pacific and further west until you hit the next mainland. They don't mess around! Look if you want an epic night with a full belly full of flavor THIS IS THE PLACE. Stop whatcha doing already with wimpy ramen joint and go here for RAMEN & CURRY THAT DOESNT SKIP LEG DAY!
A Taste of Tokyo in Suburban Dallas Every time I make the drive from Houston to Dallas, I end up here, a small Japanese eatery tucked away in the suburbs. It is not flashy, not trendy, and that is exactly why I love it. The moment I step inside, I feel as if I have wandered into a diner in downtown Tokyo, where the air smells of broth and grilled pork, where the warmth is not from the décor but from the rhythm of everyday life. The bowl you see here is their ramen, served with a side of fried rice. It is the simplest kind of comfort, rich clear broth, noodles cooked just right, half-boiled egg, a few slices of chashu, and a scattering of sesame seeds. The fried rice is unpretentious and familiar, as not oily, just the right touch of home. There is no music trying to set the mood, no over-designed presentation. The staff greet you with quiet efficiency, and you can take your time without feeling watched or rushed. The place feels lived in, steady, honest, just like the small eateries I grew up with in Tokyo old neighborhoods. In the states, we often talk about “authentic” restaurants as if authenticity were a flavor to chase. But what I find here isn’t nostalgia or imitation. It is something quieter, the easy honesty of a place that does not try to be more than it is. If you ever find yourself near Dallas, skip the reservations and the crowds. Find this little spot. You will find comfort not only in the food, but in the calm, unassuming warmth of ordinary life that fills the room. It is the kind of comfort that does not ask for attention, but it simply exists.
Moriya Shokudo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely delicious! I had an excellent meal at Moriya Shokudo and will definitely be coming back. I ordered the Tokyo Spicy Miso Ramen, which came loaded with tender pork chashu, crisp bean sprouts, cabbage, green onion, onion, seaweed, and a perfectly seasoned boiled egg. The broth was rich, creamy, and full of umami flavor — exactly what you’d hope for in a great bowl of ramen. I also tried the kimchi on the side, which had a nice kick and balanced out the richness of the ramen really well. The menu had a great selection, and it honestly made it tough to decide — everything looked so good. I’m really happy with the ramen I chose, but next time I visit, I’m definitely trying one of their curry options. Can’t wait to come back!
Despite the busy Friday night, our food came surprisingly fast and the wait staff provided great service. Very reasonably priced. Unfortunately the taste of the foods didn’t meet my expectations. While the presentations were promising, the flavors lacked the authenticity a little.
I remember this place used to be in a Korean grocery store in Dallas. I loved their salmon don and I still do now. Their ramen is good too, and it’s great place to get katsu curry. It is just a little bit pricey.
Friends recommended me to see this place and I usually don’t give reviews, but this experience was so bad and I have to warn people, especially for those who wanted to order take out orders here… after placing orders I stood at the sad front door because there’s no place for you to wait and it took them 34 minutes to make the food. If the food is awesome I’m fine with the wait, but they just put a little sad pork in the rice it’s almost invisible and does not match with the price at all. I don’t expect to be served because I ordered take out but making me and the other lady stand for 30 minutes with that portion size..it’s just disappointing.
