nice place, super nice staff, great ice americano light roasted
Great coffee, good atmosphere
Excellent coffee, service, book selection and work area upstairs. Was in town for work and came here a few times. Thanks
Great book selection.
Great spot
The best book shop in Dallas!
Great coffee bar
Cute cute cute 😍 💓 💗
So cute inside, I got the honey oat vanilla latte and as someone that usually likes sweeter coffee, it was DELICIOUS. irritated I didn’t order a bigger size it was so yummy! My sister got the white berry matcha, so good! I don’t even like berries or matcha but it was also so yummy. The barista was so sweet too. I wish I lived closer it’s so delicious
Such a cute shop with a cafe inside! This is more so a shop for gifts, stationary, and designer/table books rather than bookshop with novels. I was able to grab a strawberry matcha latte here which was delicious & some gifts for friends! Very laidback atmosphere and could definitely do some work upstairs, but not bring large groups.
Very nice coffee/book store. Great coffee and pastries. Roomy open area upstairs to enjoy coffee and talk
Live this place!
They have the best chai in Dallas. It's from concentrate yes but it's not one that a lot of people use. I've even ordered it for home after coming here so regularly to save myself some money but I still go a few times a month. It's usually my Saturday morning treat when I'm walking my pup. You can get a punch card to earn towards a free one. The girls who work here so soooooooo nice, like so nice I cannot stress that enough. Some of the kindest people working in customer service ever. The store itself is also very cute. It's great place to get a gift. I've purchased a set of espresso mugs, journals, magnets and their selection of coffee table books is unmatched. The upstairs is a great place to chill and work and the patio is a great spot to hang out as well. It's places like this that make this neighborhood feel so adorable and quaint. 💗
Coffee shop bookstore, fun to wander around in, coffee is good not great
We had 2 caramel lattes and they were delicious. I as having an allergic reaction from hendy's on Henderson and they ran out of milk but I walked in here and asked for milk to calm the affects and she quickly and gladly accommodated with no charge of course. Never knew this place was there but definitely going bk.
Ashley went above and beyond to make my Sunday morning! Can’t wait to come back
What a great addition to the neighborhood! Absolutely love this bookstore/gift shop/coffeehouse concept. The staff was absolutely wonderful, the coffee was tasty and I was able to score a couple of interesting cookbooks. Definitely will be a regular spot for me to visit. Thank you for the warm welcome and tasty iced mocha Gigi, Ashley and Jill!
Great coffee and service by Gigi and Melissa! I loved my cortado and the vibes of this place is so nice and authentic. I love all the little unique items for sale and all really good book selection! Perfect place if u love coffee and books!
Love this as a place to work on my laptop at the stand up desks/ledges upstairs. I was able to do some Christmas shopping for unique gifts too. And, unlike Starbucks or other coffee shops, the music is not blaring and annoying! The children's book section is cute. Also, I hardly think books about crystals and chakras count as indoctrination. Good grief.
I love this sweet coffee shop/book store. Coffee was great and the store has an eclectic mix of wonderful coffee table books, new releases, and a great children’s section. Also quirky gift ideas, puzzles and games. Perhaps it’s more book store than coffee shop but I love it and will definitely be back.
cute things to buy & delicious coffee and matcha!! the summer strawberry matcha is amazing. the baristas are always so friendly and sweet! i love having this spot on henderson
So happy to have an intimate local shop in this area that has such a carefully curated collection of books, dish ware, and stationary that also sells tasty coffee?! Oh happy day. Shout out to Ashley and Gigi working the bar they were so sweet and gave me great recommendations. Support local!
what a perfect little gem. Chai latte was good and there’s an amazing selection of cookbooks upstairs, along with some tall tables and a few stools and couches. A great spot for a little remote work.
Good place to hang out! They are making reservations so there's not a lot of space. I'm hoping it will look even better soon!
Still in their opening days, this is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. While my first instinct might have been an eye roll to the idea of walking down the street and buying a cookbook that I could buy on Amazon, the place is so darn charming that I actually felt compelled to do so, especially given the curated selection of cool books. Solid Cortado, very friendly team, and a great environment for a quick date, meet up, or a break from your afternoon. Look forward to seeing them grow.
One of the baristas, Gigi, is the sweetest and so welcoming! Love this place—great coffee and curated gifts and books.
Love this place, the homemade pop tarts are so good. All of the negative reviews confused by the no seating… call city council and ask/complain about the car centric zoning laws… apparently lack of parking/zoning rules is what’s preventing us from having a nice neighborhood spot to walk to, sit down, and hang out.
Really cool spot for coffee, unique books, and gifts.
I love this place! They have great staff and a great space upstairs to hangout. My little one enjoys the cars while i look around and relax☺️ Also a great gift shop for friends and loved ones!!
Best new book / barista / food shop in Dallas - extraordinary!!! Everyone go to experience, buy a book enjoy an Iced Latte and a treat as you admire this amazing and much needed new store in Dallas!
First time coming here & we got the Iced caramel latte 10/10!! It’s so creamy & a good coffee for it having almond milk.
Brand new must go-to spot! Prices are great & the atmosphere is unique. Will be coming back! The matcha strawberry is my favorite
A really great find in Dallas, interesting pleasant and very welcoming
Absolutely adorable building with a pleasant and accomodating staff. These baristas know their trade; their espresso was very well dialed in!
Great service and delicious coffee! Awesome book options and relaxing vibe. It’s one of my favorite coffee shops in Dallas!
My wife and I stopped by while searching for Christmas gifts last year. We'll probably stop by again this year! The staff did a great job curating their collection of coffee table book - there's one on nearly every topic here. Also worth visiting if you just need to kill time!
First of all, the coffee is excellent. But it takes more than good coffee. Read shop has a well curated book and gift selection. You can’t go wrong looking here for a gift for someone who likes to read (such as yourself). Staff has always been helpful and friendly. Great addition to the area.
LOVE this place! Conveniently located and they serve REAL COFFEE! The girls (Gigi, Evelyn, Ashley) are always so kind and welcoming. Upstairs is a great spot to take a little break from the day and shop little gifts and such and friendly price points! 10/10 Recommend.
An amazing selection of coffee table art books and the coffee is really well made. You can tell they care about their coffee here! Baristas are always really kind too :-) If you are looking for a place to work, there isn’t really seating, but worth the visit nonetheless.
Took myself here randomly as a stop on my self date day. I’m so happy I did!! Gigi and Evelyn (i’m so sorry if i messed your names up) were the sweet ever. The coffee was amazing. The window seat was so cute. Thank you guys for making my experience so amazing! Gigi even went out of her way to help me find things for my journaling. Thank you guys for being you!! I will be back!!
Read Shop is the cutest spot! They have tons of books and nicknacks for sale, but mainly a lot of coffee table books. The reviews are correct, unfortunately they do not have a lot of seating. Just a few tiny bar-top tables and stools upstairs, but nothing comfy to sit and read or work in. The coffee was pretty good! I got a honey latte and it was on the sweeter side, but many people like that. I think it would’ve been better if I got it half sweet, so just be conscious of that if you don’t like super sweet coffee. I’m excited to visit again and try more coffee!
We are excited to welcome Read Shop to our neighborhood and the community at large! What a gem of a place—everything looks and feels just right in this place that is certain to become a popular hangout. Friendly and engaging service from the coffee bar staff, and a wide variety of beautiful books to peruse (and buy!) while sipping the coffee. There is something for everyone in the assortment of this very thoughtfully merchandised shop. We especially love the charming plush toys from Jellycat. So glad that we can just walk across the street from our house to this cool new place!
This spot is SUCH A GEM!!!! I drive by all the time on auto pilot. This week; I was dire for a coffee & thought ‘why not’. Immediately I was greeted warmly by the barista behind the bar. There might be cool stuff in the menu but I knew what I wanted. My head was turned by all the cool stuff in the room!!!!! I asked for extra time to look at post cards. I added post card to my order. Walking out; she mention more stuff upstairs. Bet your bottom dollar- I set my stuff down & walked up those stairs. Jaw drop. I don’t know how long I was up there. I walked down the stairs with my arms full & starting a ‘next time’ list. Please support this incredible gem!! Coffee. Books. Good vibes!
Such a hidden gem! I stopped by Read Shop and instantly fell in love with the cozy, inviting vibe. It’s the perfect mix of a charming bookstore and a relaxing coffee shop. I tried their matcha and it was so good 😊 smooth, not too sweet, and perfectly made. It’s a great spot to read, work, or just unwind with a good drink. Can’t wait to go back! 💚📚
I loved the vanilla oat milk latte and almond croissant! It wasn't too sweet. All recommendation from the nicest barista I've ever met, Gigi!! It's so pretty inside and book selections are great.
Read Shop is such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The patio & 2nd level truly is what makes this coffee shop my personal favorite. Perfect for Zoom Meetings, etc. The staff truly embodies southern hospitality & their Jasmine tea is AMAZING. Def worth checking out!
Read Shop in Dallas, TX, offers a cozy blend of bookstore and coffee shop vibes. Their unique book selection is perfect for book lovers looking for something special, and the coffee is top-notch. It’s a great spot to relax, browse, and enjoy a cup while diving into a good read. Definitely worth a visit!
A little gem on Henderson. Gorgeous, unique coffee table books, awesome popcorn (try Poppy Handcrafted dark chocolate raspberry) and fabulous coffee. So happy can get the same brand in Dallas that I enjoy when in Seaside! They also have pastries to enjoy with your coffee.
Amazing atmosphere, lovely selection of books! Got the 16oz Iced Latte, and it was so good. Definitely coming back again!

Read Shop is an absolute staple of the Knox Henderson neighborhood/ community. It is always clean. The novelty of the items for purchase are so satisfying and curated beautifully. You are guaranteed a delicious coffee and pastry every time, prepared by who I am convinced, some of the friendliest faces in all of Dallas. Gigi especially is 100% sure to make my day. With the privilege of being surrounded by the most welcoming atmosphere around, Read Shop is a place to relax, study, meet up with friends, swing by on a walk, etc. You’ll have my business forever!
The women that work here are so sweet! The shop itself is a great place to pick up a little gift- great coffee table books, notebooks, and novelties. I hope that eventually they will get a few healthy breakfast options to go with my morning coffee, but Read Shop has been such a good addition to this neighborhood!
I absolutely love this coffee shop, it is my favorite in the area, I go here multiple times each week and am a HUGE fan. The coffee is delicious, the croissants are heavenly, and above all else, the staff is incredible and frequently goes above and beyond for their customers!!! Every time I come in, I hear them warmly greeting all the new guests as well as the regulars, who they know on a first name basis and remember their orders!!! It is truly difficult to find good customer service these days, and somehow the staff here strike the perfect balance of delivering a decadent, consistent high quality product and making you feel like you are at home in your own living room. I'm a foam snob, and I have to say their foam on all their drinks is that perfect, thick, frothy foam that they clearly take the time/energy to perfect for every drink, and not the thin/bubbly foam that most coffee shops quickly churn out. I have only one recommendation for management- I am wondering if maybe management could splurge a little on furniture for the patio? I think a little patio refresh, with some more comfortable/padded seating, a plant or two, and maybe some umbrellas would really enhance the patio experience and would offer strong competition to some other coffee shops in the area who boast decorative/comfortable patios. I think this would help enhance the vibe of people wanting to stay for several hours and read and hang out. After all, people want to stay and read at The Read Shop, let's help make this into a neighborhood vibe where people can read/work and relax!!! I know some days are windy, but I think the staff could totally exercise their judgment when it's best to keep the umbrellas down. Thanks for considering!!!

Un lugar muy especial El sueño realizado para alguien que le guste un buen café y excelentes libros
Little touch of ATL in Dallas. No place to sit but great coffee, wonderful energy and feng shui in the design and flow of the store.
Lovely place, didn't try the Cafe, but the book selection, although limited was quite quirky, would like to come again
Good coffee, no seating
I found this place through Tiktok and decided to try it with my friend while on Spring Break! Overall, very nice coffee shop with a few book options and trinket items! I got a matcha latte which was okay, it was a little lumpy and definitely could’ve used more matcha. My friend tried their cheese danish and they loved it. The barista seemed to be a bit annoyed but overall a pleasant experience!
It’s an interesting place. It had a nice selection of books, most of which were either coffee table books, cookbooks, or gift-y books. The coffee was good too. The one thing that puzzled me was the relative lack of seating. For a coffee shop that has books (or a book shop with coffee), you’d think they’d want people to stay a while, but I suppose not.
Cute modern style book shop. Knick-knacks & home goods on display tables. Majority of books seem to be nice table top display books; architecture, local artists, cooking/baking, photography, fashion, travel, history/educational, etc. which i personally love to look at and partake in— Wouldn’t come here expecting a library; I read an early review mentioning the book selection was lacking (lol). The place is larger than i expected with multiple lit up rooms, and an upstairs- which i didn’t get to, yet. I ordered the summer blackberry lemonade while stopping in during my walk around the neighborhood, it was yummy- a lil over priced for the size, but i feel that is expected with the boutique-style food & beverage shops in Dallas. Won’t stop me from going back again, especially since I work on the street and have been waiting for a bevy place to walk to that ISN’T a bar, sit down restaurant, or 7/11 . I do wish there was other juice and maybe even smoothie options, considering this is Texas (hot as __🥵), and there was only one juice (non-caffeinated?) option.
Cute! Came here after a couple insta ads popped for it. Cold brew was good, the book selection was something that works well for last minute gifts for friends or just browsing through when you are drinking coffee. Could use more couch or stool seating upstairs!
Great new independent coffee shop/book store in the Knox Henderson neighborhood. Excellent quality latte, friendly staff, beautiful decor. I echo what others have said about the distinct lack of seating, which tbh, makes no sense. Upstairs, there are stand up ledges which are a waste of space. The shop has plenty of square footage to add some comfy chairs and a cafe table or two. I like loitering over a great book and coffee, but here it seems like I’m supposed to buy and leave quickly. Hopefully they listen to the feedback and adjust accordingly.
Beautiful new coffee shop in the Knox/Henderson area of Dallas! They have great options for coffee and matcha! The service was great too. It is more of a book store than a library, so don’t expect to find a cozy place to read. There is very limited seating, at the moment, but it looks like they will add some patio furniture soon. The second floor features mostly coffee table books (photography, recipes, etc). There’s also a children’s section, but I don’t recommend indoctrinating your child with this selection of books (see photos) Overall, I would say it’s a fun landmark for a quick outing, but not a coffee shop I would stay for an extended period of time or visit often.
I am not the biggest fan of stumptown so I can only give this cafe so much credit, it's focused a lot more on aesthetics which makes me a little sad since there aren't many places to sit and read the tons of books that line the walls. A cute spot to visit and enjoy if you live in the area.
Went for the books, stayed for the coffee! Nice selection and variety of drinks, had many stickers and cute things for your pups(: Only took off one star since the seating was limited and the book selection is limited with some books being overpriced. Would definitely go again to keep trying the rest of the menu, but enjoyed the atmosphere that was calm and cozy.

Finally a coffee shop in walking distance! Nope, it's a book and gift shop that sells coffee. Coffee and service were good. The store layout is clean. No seating since they're a gift shop, but it feels like a missed opportunity for a nice hangout spot.
Great coffee, good vibes but the lack of seating is a bummer. All the books are more coffee table type books too. Unfortunately its more of a 'get your coffee and leave' place than a hangout spot but I do love its location.
Nice layout, design, and book selection. It's real close to a full experience. Music is the missing link, and dimming the lights. It's like one of the cheesy clubs in Dallas. Hard to get inspired to sit and read when Bad Bunny is playing. A few things to tighten up before the fall season and this place could be busy.
Good coffee and nice staff. I will say this is more like a stop in and grab your coffee and go. It’s not really a cozy vibe coffee shop. They did add some additional seating upstairs and a few people were reading when I went. The book selection is severely lacking imo. It’s basically all coffee table books. Good if you want to stop in and grab a gift pretty much. Not really the cozy bookstore/coffee shop I was hoping for.
Cute shop, great coffee. Not the coziest vibe to make you want to hang out but nice variety of unique finds. Not typical popular selections if that’s what you’re looking for.
A cute coffee shop with other offerings (table books, cards, stickers, etc). They use stumptown beans and the space is bright and big. The espresso was well extracted and I enjoyed my latte. I visited as they were just opening- hoping they bring additional seating to the space as that’s what many people are hoping for in a coffee shop experience. They have a patio as well but unsure if they allow dogs.

Great coffee but the book selection so far is very poor. Just coffee table books and children’s books.
Great interior finish out. This place would thrive as a true coffee and book shop where people actually want to meet but it doesn’t not facilitate that experience and it’s just surface level. What do I mean by that? The books are all coffee table books with no substance that no one wants to buy and there is minimal to no seating. It has no energy and is doing nothing to facilitate that. My recommendation to the owner would be to curate interesting books and novels with staff who can help answer questions along with ample seating throughout so it can actually function as a coffee shop. Right now, it’s not a good coffee shop and it’s not a good book shop even though it is technically checking the box for both.
Pretty coffee table books, good coffee, but quite literally no seating at all. You order your coffee or tea, walk around to look at books. But there’s no place to sit and have a conversation over that cup of coffee. Sadly, I think it’s a missed opportunity.

If you're looking for a cookbook or an art book I guess this place is fine, but they have absolutely no fiction selection. Should have known better than to go to a bookstore outside of Oak Cliff.
This is not a bookstore. It has a bunch of coffee table books and candles. Nothing of substance…
Beautiful place, but the drinks were disappointing. I had the strawberry matcha & it was so bitter; it tasted like it expired last year. I then went to exchange my drink for something I could physically drink. I got the peach hibiscus tea because it was hot and I wanted something refreshing. …it was not refreshing, it tasted like medicine & could not drink the rest. It’s unfortunate because the place looked cute & the staff was kind enough to exchange drinks. There’s also no place to sit down & work if that’s what you were looking for.
