Renny's Bar & Grill

Stopped in for an early dinner and left very satisfied. The place is definitely built around the bar, but still felt very much like a cozy restaurant in the dining section. Food was great, service was great, and prices were reasonable.

I did not get pics. I had the Ahi Tuna Salad and it was delicious. Presentation was well done and it was tasty 😋 I’d love to go back! Our server was Roger and he’s excellent!

Fantastic north Dallas restaurant pedigreed from the famous Maguire's here. Food was exceptional, service at the bar was fabulous, and the ambience was a great way to unwind after a busy day.

It was our first visit and our server Lenny was very kind and attentive. She gave us a tour of the speakeasy and told us all about the McGuire family. All the other servers we came in contact with were very nice as well. We look forward to returning!

Rennys is great. Food is delicious, service is exquisite and the food is well worth the money. Just a note on service, we left our leftovers and they thought to check the reservation to call us to tell us our leftovers were there and that they could hold if we were coming back. That's the level of service you get.

I just want to share my experiences at Renny's from the perspective of a black man after reading a negative review. I've never felt more welcome. The staff is always professional the atmosphere is fun and upbeat. Ive enjoyed so many things on the menu from the Thai beef salad to the green chili lasagna. I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends.

Great food and great service! Plenty of parking. However, go early before the crowd and not during peak hours because it can get pretty noisy.

I have never been so welcomed to a restaurant. Evelyn was the first waitress I’ve ever had that tried to make the restaurant feel like a second home. Food was amazing, great ambience and superior service and kindness from Evelyn.

The chicken tortilla soup was excellent! Very healthy portion for just $8. My friend recommended the salmon, so I ordered that. It was COVERED in glaze, which overpowered the flavor of the salmon, and the broccoli didn't have any flavor at all. Service was great, it's a very nice place; probably more suited for the crowd that drinks alcohol since the entire back of the menu was drinks.

This is a comfortable spin-off from McGuire's restaurant. It is slightly more casual. Many of the same menu items appear, but not all of them. Fortunately, the McGuire's signature salad is one of the retentions. As might be expected, prices have escalated some from McGuire's prices, although it is still a reasonable value. Our server was friendly and attentive. The attached "speakeasy" 'Stache was a quiet and comfortable cocktail lounge, but expensive.

I wish I could give them 4.5 stars. Food was solid! Service was attentive! We just weren't blown away by our meal. I ordered the Texas Redfish and it was tasty. Pretty sure they gave me spaghetti noodles instead of udon though.

Great little neighborhood restaurant in a shopping center location with a solid offering of American classics. While the dishes are quite tasty, the menu feels a little outdated. Nonetheless, servers are friendly and the newly constructed space has a casual, modern feel providing a great environment for those nights when you want a nice meal, but don’t feel like doing the “Uptown” thing.

Great place for dinner. I had the loaded potato soup, it was delicious. Also the pork chop, highly recommend. Service was stellar. My second time to visit. Will definitely be back

It has been a year already but it was so good to be back! I had the salmon sandwich special and it was scrumptious! The space was packed but I could still hear my table mates! How refreshing. Service was perfect and the warmed moist towel was a much appreciated after the sandwich and fries. Go and bring your friends!

The classic McGuire's experience you've missed. Many of the favorites carried over. The meatloaf or burger is always hard to resist. Ahi tuna makes a tasty appetizer. A good happy hour just right for a martini. They also have an excellent secret speakeasy with an incentive entrance and a separate bar menu. In an unassuming strip mall. Wonderful garage door windows and a small front patio for one of our all too few nice weather days. It's a favorite in the restaurant rotation.

If you happen to be like 85 and "can't understand why all these movies have to have black people in them nowadays" and like your food to be just a few steps removed from porridge in texture and flavor, this is the spot for you. If you happen to be white and can avoid the glares from the waitstaff at POC, the ambience is pretty solid! However, then you will be treated to a meal that showcases the pinnacle of nursing home food. Between the Focaccia, Brussels Sprouts, lamb chops, shrimp, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and two drinks, only two of them (the lamb chops and one of the drinks) had anything approaching flavor or texture that would be palatable to the under 65 crowd.

It's truly a gorgeous place and I was so excited. However, as a black woman, I couldn't recommend this place less. I was glared at by staff and made to feel unwelcome in this establishment. The food was also a let down. Portion sizes are small and the flavors weren't done well at all. I got the lobster ravioli and the shrimp that came along with it was overcooked. My boyfriend got the pistachio crusted lamb chop and the pistachios were mush and didn't add anything to the dish. Really wanted to love this place, but we won't be returning.

Waited for 5 minutes to order take out. A female employee saw me and continued chit chatting with existing customers. There were only 6 customers today at 1:35 pm. Called and no one answered either. I just walked out of the door. I will contact Amex Platinum to complain as well as part of Resy. Awful service!
