Absolutely delicious and spectacular service! I haven’t been in to Brio since I was a kid, and it was just as good as I remember. Our server, Claudio, was absolutely wonderful and so attentive and kind. He also made sure to assist my grandmother who has several food/health issues and she was thoroughly pleased. I look forward to returning and plan to do so much sooner than before!

We had an incredible last minute experience here at Brio. Me and my family of five the pleasure of being served by the incredible Claudio. 10/10 host although we showed up later in the evening he was full of energy and excellent recommendation thank you for making our vacation a little extra special 💯

Our server Cloudio was fantastic. The drinks were great. The food was delicious. I had lobster ravioli and my wife had Scottish wild salmon and we both loved our meals. And the tiramisu was so good, we devoured it despite already being full!

Claudio was outstanding! Had a great time! You should try the Pork Chop in case you love apple flavouring. Garlic bread with mozzarella cheese is a must try.

Amazing dinner! I've come here since I was 5 yrs old, and the food quality has never let me down and always continues to amaze me! Claudio is one of the most enthusiastic people I've had the honor of meeting, always attentive and considerate! If I could write a 20/5 star review I would most definitely. If you ever in Dana point and want a superb palce to dine, this is the place!!

Wow, wow, wow. The Fra Diablo calamari with grilled garlic bread appetizer... and it wasn't fried!! My server, Claudio, was so excellent. I ordered the Capellini pasta : fresh tomatoes basil, garlic , parmesan cheese and added the manila clams... The clams were a bit small... for this dish... still tasty dish I didn't think I'd have room for their tiramisu... it was heavenly! You could taste the espresso and the lightness of the lady fingers.. I was given a $10 Gift certificate to return! These people are smart... Bravo 👏!!

The food and service were exceptional last night. We all had the veal pinata & champagne. Our waiter was hysterical & went above and beyond. I was there while visiting my 94+ year old Aunt. We have gone here before, but this was the best visit ever

. . . REALLY enjoyed dinner here on a Saturday night. We were greeted warmly upon entering, and promptly escorted to our table. Our server was prompt, friendly, and efficient. All of the food, from the appetizers and salads to the main dishes, were fresh and delicious, and in ample portions. The Spumoni Bomba, housed in dark chocolate, was truly decadent. The live music also added to our enjoyment of the evening. Enzo runs a truly GREAT restaurant!!!

GREAT Tasting Cuisine & OUTSTANDING Customer Service! The Staff were GREAT @ making us feel Welcome! The Ambiance is NICE! Me & My Wife enjoyed a Romantic Evening! I filled out a customer information card when our bill came & a few days later received an offer via e-mail to come back for another Dining experience & get a free bottle of wine! We did just that! We also found out Brio Tuscany Grill has a mobile app that w/ the 1st order we get 20% off! Thank You!

Had a great dinner with friends. Food was fabulous and the service was fantastic. We had Paul's meatballs, fish with a white wine reduction and a brick oven pizza with pepperoni and sausage. Everything was great and we look forward to going back.

We've always enjoyed Brio Tuscany Grill any night of the week particularly the nights of live music as well as their happy hour. This past week happy hour was not as we expected. The menu was decreased and the prices were increased. The selections we were accustomed to aren't there anymore. The menu presented to us for happy hour in person was not the same as what we've seen online. Yet anywhere you may frequent these days the prices have gone up due to the pandemic. We weren't surprised. The quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff though have not changed.

Brio in Dana Point is PHENOMENAL! Their service is impeccable. Their bartenders are even better. Their waiters are amazing. It's like a family here. Ive never been disappointed with any of their dishes and I have all sorts of favorites from their surf and turf, shrimp, garlic bread, filet mignon, and lobster. Ive had it all and never been disappointed once. Occasionally they have music and it's always so much fun! If you're looking for wonderful service, good food, and even better drinks, this is the place to be!!!

Excellent staff and customer service! Especially to the petite woman who works the front. I'd call her a hostess, but between her customer service, sweetness, and pure hard work I feel calling her a hostess isn't her job description; she's a boss! Great vibes from everyone. Oh, and the food isn't bad, either. 😉 It's fantastic. Brava, Brio.

Everything about this restaurant is 5-star for me. The food is unbelievable. The way it’s served and how they present it is superb. You don’t even want to touch it. The service is also excellent. They have a few ladies that have been there a long time, and they make a very tight presentation. The owner has redesigned the restaurant in such a way where he opened it up and now there's a beautiful patio area, and a wide-open lobby-type of entrance. The bar is quite long.

Absolutely fantastic 👏🏻. Every single dish on the menu was amazing and unique. I wish every restaurant had this places service. So friendly and helpful. This place is a little pricey but it is totally worth it 👌🏼

We went for the half price pasta on Tuesday. I had the Scampi. It was delicious. Appetizers we had were Calimari. It was fantastic.

Brio is truly my 'Cheers' bar—a local gem right on the Dana Point/Laguna Niguel border in Monarch Beach Plaza. Whether you’re coming from Ocean Ranch or just up the street, the vibe here is always welcoming. The staff is incredibly friendly and they make you feel like family the moment you walk in. They have a fantastic happy hour seven days a week (rare to find!) and the daily specials are always a hit. I’m a huge fan of the food here, and their martinis and drinks are consistently top-notch. I love recommending spots like this to my South OC Happy Hours Facebook group because it’s a place I genuinely enjoy patronizing myself. It’s also a proud SOCHH VIP partner, and for SOCHH VIP Members they offer 20% off the regular menu, truly making members feel like friends and family. This says a lot about their commitment to quality and consistency. If you’re looking for a great atmosphere and delicious Italian-inspired fare in Dana Point, this is the place

Celebrating a special birthday and we couldn't have been more pleased. Our server was awesome! The menu was robust and definitely mouth watering. Our meals were so delicious. I highly recommend the Eggplant Parm, although truly everything was so good. We enjoyed the atmosphere out on the patio for our celebrating! Can't wait to go back!

We were a party of 10, to start the garlic bread and the baguette. We all had different dishes, Arena Eggplant Parmesan, Pasta Bolognese, Mushroom & Artichoke Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, Tortellini in a vodka sauce… well, everything was good and almost everyone was able to finish the large portions. We celebrated 2 birthdays and they were very accommodating with bringing our own cakes. This is my second time and aI hope we get Claudio to be our waiter again. He was excellent! We had a bottle of wine and each had a drink.

If you're looking for a tasty Italian meal in Dana Point, Brio Tuscany Grill is the place to go. Their salmon and pizza are both amazing. The salmon is cooked perfectly and the pizza has a thin, crispy crust. The atmosphere is also very inviting. I highly recommend Brio Tuscany Grill!

Came here on a Sunday night after driving by this place for a number of years. The outdoor seating area was nicer than it looked from the outside and the Halloween decor was a kitschy sort of cute. Our server was fantastic and took time to make recommendations and made sure our waters were always full. We started with the over baked baguette, which I have to say was a fantastic piece of bread. The rest of the food itself didn't knock my socks off but my chicken was good and the others in my party had a similar assessment of their plates. Not incredible but good. The dessert menu was intriguing but I'll have to come back to develop an opinion on that.

Hopped over to this restaurant for dinner from the hotel in DanaPoint as part of our continued anniversary celebration. Since I love Italian foods, our kids chose this restaurant that was close to where we stayed and to celebrate the occasion with us. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Dana Point/ Laguna Miguel. The restaurant is full of vies. Mixing with live jazz music, the restaurant is full of live and energy. The foods are even better. The two appetizers we ordered were amazing. Deep fried calamari was very good with crispy batter. The tomato sauce came with the appetizer was so good that I just ate it all. I loved my main dish of penne Donatello. The creamy tomato sauce was not too thick and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The other dishes my family ordered were also fantastic. The plates were cleaned up. Had a beautiful evening with the family. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, provided excellent service.

Service was excellent. I mean the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. It's not something to write home about. But overall good.

Tucked away in a corner shopping center, this bistro is hard to see from the street but worth the search. Classy and upscale yet still family friendly. The fare is American- style Italian, nicely prepared, good portions. The bar is well-stocked. Service is deferential and kind. There was a good band- One Less Monkey- playing dance music from all eras.

The music on Saturday nights is wonderful. The manager is extremely helpful and knowledgeable the food is good and flavorful. Lots of guests the day we went so the service was a little slow. Lots of fun when there is music especially when Cheryl Silverstein is there singing.

We love coming here for happy hour. The food is really good. The 4 stars are for consistency it would be 5. Some dishes are not made the same way but are still good. I love the Shrimp appetizer and the garlic bread. I have tried a few things and everything is good. The bartenders are always on point and friendly. This is close to home and I would consider it a hidden gem. It is popular at happy hour so get there early. They also do a lot for the community and have fun parties during the holidays. They do have daily specials ask your server. Great place to unwind and chill out with good food.

Disappointed in the meal. Food was mediocre, crispy calamari fritti for $18 was plain and bland, said had tentacles but there were none and came with a small amount of sauce, we asked for more but came too late. Main pasta dishes were underwhelming, bolognese was more tomato based with chunks of meat rather than a ragu, the pappardelle pasta was good had bits of filet that weren’t that tender. Ordered side Italian sausage and for $8 each they were overcooked and dry. No bread offered, pay for it if you want it, very loud live saxophone player, too loud for small indoor space so we asked for the outdoor covered patio. The patio was pleasant. Moderate wine selections, Paso Robles wines were very pleasant, Server Ann was friendly and attentive. Too many Italian restaurant options that are better to come back here.

The food is ok nothing great, service is good but the restaurant is very old inside and outdated. With the kitschy paintings it looks like the haunted house in Disneyland. Fake candles, no flowers on tables! Terrible ambience! Dark and like a dungeon!

S
Sarah Hobbs

Prices are $3 more than posted on their website. Food was pretty good but small portions for the price. They do not give you free bread, you have to buy it as an appetizer. The restaurant was very busy but the atmosphere remained calm and relaxed which is a plus.

My bookclub met at Brio last night for the 1/2 price pasta night. The member organizing specifically clarified that separate bills would be provided. this was affirmed by 3 people, as they joined the party, including me. When we asked for the bill, we were told it wasn’t possible to separate the bills. We grumbled but said we’d figure it out. Almost 2 hours later, after similar complaints from the table next to us, we were provided with separate bills. I was charged full price for my pasta. I got the Donatello Pasta. It was good, but the bill was not what I expected. $28.00 for pasta without any bread or salad, was not what I’d get at other restaurants. However, expecting the bill to be 1/2 price, it worked, but my meal was not 1/2 price as stated on the menu! At that point, I was not going to complain again, as I had to get home! During the meal, our water was not replenished, until I finally asked and then only 3 of us got refills and mine was only 1/2 way, with the waitress promising to come back. I had to ask for Parmesan cheese and didn’t bother to ask for ground pepper as it wasn’t worth it. She never asked if we needed anything else and would go 30 minutes between stopping by. We had a few ladies who wanted dessert, but she never came back for the order! It was a mess! This was my 1st time at the restaurant and will definitely be my last. The group agreed! We will not return!

The food was terrible, our plates came out hotter than hades like our food was either in the oven or microwave. My wife’s seafood pasta dish was so overcooked it was a rubbery mess. My filet mignon was so over cooked that i couldn’t chew one small piece in my pasta dish, literally took 10 mins to chew one piece. The staff super friendly and nice! Atmosphere was good enough. Probably will not be going back as the food was pretty bad. The bar staff were great as well!

Food was just alright, everything was really bland and had no character. Service was horrible. Our waitress was super cocky, like she was almost looking down on us. She would claim that the food is “right at the window” then would come back to us saying it’s still in the oven. Just lying for no reason. I do NOT recommend this place, please do not waste your time here. Terrible staff and food.

S

Very disappointed in our dinner. Shrimp and salmon overcooked. Not fresh. Got part of order wrong. Charged to split salad without telling us in advance. Oily tasteless pasta. Dry powdery Parmesan, not freshly grated. Will not return.

We heard amazing things so we were super excited to go listen to live music on a Friday night. Happy hour drinks. We're okay. It wasn't overcrowded so it was very easy to get a table. The restaurant does have a nice family element to it but definitely seems to cater to the older senior crowd. My major challenge was more with the menu. Their appetizers were decent but their entrees were extremely poor. I had the pork chop. I took two bites of it. It was extremely dry and overcooked. It tasted more like fried chicken than a pork chop, especially a thick cut. The potatoes that it came with were prepared more like dried raisins. They seem to have almost no moisture or texture to them. They were almost like lemon shaped chunks of potato chip. When the waitress came back and asked how everything was, I told her I didn't really enjoy the pork chop very much. Obviously since barely any of the food was touched she brought us out our receipt. Much to my surprise the pork chop was still on the bill. I understand the etiquette. If somebody takes something off the menu, you tip the waitress, whatever that meal cost. It wasn't her fault. The kitchen did a poor job. But when they don't take it off the receipt. It's definitely a huge red flag and quite truthfully, a bit of a slap in the face. To any way Chris is out there or to any patrons. If you do get a bad meal and you send it back that's okay. You should tip the waitress, whatever that meal cost on top of their normal tip. Any waitresses out there, If a customer doesn't enjoy their meal and it's obvious they didn't touch it, take it off the bill. It's the only way you're going to get a second chance and you get a bigger tip so I don't understand why something like that doesn't happen at many restaurants. It should have happened here. If it was only my pork chop that was bad then I probably wouldn't have written a review. My wife's salad wasn't good. Two out of three of our appetizers were very bland but the mozzarella sticks on marinara sauce were surprisingly really good. If you go I would highly recommend those and the Mai tais

We were there on a Sunday recently and brought two of our dear friends because of our bragging about the food and the service. I must say it was the worst we've ever had. First off we ordered a bottle of wine and then asked for a little bit of time before we order. That wasn't a problem, it was the fact that the food came late, overdone and poorly prepared. I ordered Sole piccata and it came plain in I don't know what kind of sauce, but I could barely eat it. The wine helped wash it down. Our friends ordered their specialty salmon with a champagne, reduction sauce, and it came almost charred and dry. I don't know if we will return. I tried to call and speak to the manager the next day and was told the manager won't be in for a couple of days. That might be the problem. Maybe management should stick around and see what the kitchen is doing.

Most disappointing $100 meal I’ve ever ordered. The baguette was burned and missing the dipping sauces (could get a better one from Ralph’s). The cups of soup were barely filled and mostly just briny both with 2 bits of lobster in one of the orders. Pasta was dry and flavorless. Gelato was missing the chocolate sauce. The only decent thing was the pizza. This was our first and last time ever eating here. We tried it after thinking it was the Brio Italian Grill (not Tuscany) we’ve had before that is amazing. We realized it wasn’t the same before ordering but thought we’d give it a try. Total waste of money!

Disappointing Experience at Brio Tuscany Grill We had high hopes for Brio Tuscany Grill on Saturday, July 19th, but our experience was a disaster. We drove from Aliso Viejo, excited to enjoy some great Italian food, but left feeling frustrated and disappointed. The problems started when I asked to taste two wines and was told they don’t offer “tasters.” I ordered a glass of wine listed at $11 on the menu, but it was billed at $12. We ordered garlic bread, eggplant, and a salad to share, and when the bill came, every item except the garlic bread was priced higher than the menu—by $1-$2 each. Adding insult to injury, we were charged a $6 split fee on a $9 salad and an $8 split fee on the $23 eggplant (which was also incorrectly billed at $24). The initial bill was nearly $90 before we complained and had the split fees removed. When we brought up the incorrect pricing, the manager shrugged it off and blamed the server. The only bright spot was our server, who was sweet, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Unfortunately, the misrepresentation of pricing, excessive split fees, and lack of accountability from management have ensured we won’t be back. Brio Tuscany Grill, how hard is it to reprint menus with accurate pricing? And as a manager, own up to your mistakes instead of passing the blame.

Horrible service - worst food ever. I had to ask after almost 25 minutes where our salads were. They forgot about them as they were sitting in the kitchen waiting to be picked up. They tasted like they were out of a bag. The dressing was even worse. Tasted like it was straight out of a bottle. $12 bucks for these monstrosities. Then we were told that they had just put the pizza in the oven. I had to ask for water refills several times. The server left dirty plates on the table after the salad and never asked us if we would like fresh ones. $18 for a pizza that tasted like chef boyardee out of a box. What a waste of my hard earned money. I won't be back. Good grief. Check on your customers often and for the love of God don't charge for a lousy piece of bread if someone asks for bread! Offer that for free. Be dilligent and aware of your customers!!

New York Strip tasted like it was made in a microwave - it was overcooked and not quality for $50. Can make one better at home on a skillet. Disappointing.

This restaurant shouldn’t accept takeout orders. I’ve come to pick up orders hundreds of times, had to wait 30 minutes in vain, and ended up leaving.
