Wow, we haven’t been to Piatti in over 20 years; however, everything is still spectacular! Piatti offers great, “comfort food” fresh Italian dishes!! Everything is amazing… appetizers, soups, salads, paninis, main courses, and desserts. In addition, they are family friendly with a kids menu. Besides great food and service, Piatti has a FULL BAR!!
I have been coming to this place for 17+ years since I know people that works there. I love how "Piatti" keep being "reinvented".. after the last remodel I love the new colors, dishes are delicious as always, some new items and love the fact they kept some traditional ones too. I like that now they have a happy hour. Wish I work near by. Staff is always attentive, friendly and professional. I was told all pastas are freshly made there.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner with friends. There're different choices from the menu but we all ordered the traditional turkey dish for the holiday. Price is a little high for what we get. But food is delicious.
Four of us went there for dinner on Sunday, 5/18/2025. Parking lot was packed but we were lucky to find a parking space right in front of the restaurant. We had a reservation for 6:15. We arrived at 6:00 and got seated right away. We chose outside sitting since it was a very pleasant evening. The restaurant was packed and lively. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. It was a very nice dinner for my family. I also noticed that many tables were celebrating someone's birthday.
I tried Piatti's happy hour menu and enjoyed it! The Piatti Spritz was nice, and the Margherita pizza was good. The Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli was tasty but a bit too lemony for my liking. I will skip it next time. I loved the ambiance, especially the open kitchen. It wasn't too crowded on a Friday afternoon.
The food, service and atmosphere was great. We had the calamari which was fresh and crisp and a shrimp and cornbread appetizer which sounded odd but actually paired extremely well. The flavors were excellent. I ordered the Pork chop which was delicious, the seasoning was spot on and the potatoes were excellent. My wife had the fish special with mashed potatoes. Her dish was also delicious. My mom order the seafood pasta and she had no complaints about it. For dessert we had a cheesecake and tiramisu. Both were devoured. We will be back for the food and service. Robert was very prompt and helpful.
Indulge in authentic Italian cuisine at Piatti!🍝✨ Great seating, indoors, patio, and at the bar. Enjoy seasonal dishes, an extensive wine selection, and exceptional service in a charming atmosphere. Great selection of Italian wines and local ones. A must-visit for foodies! 🇮🇹🍷
I've never been to a restaurant that had better customer service than this restaurant. I will be talking about it for years to come. The food here was amazing too! Cooked to perfection and the flavor is just right. My wife has a food allergy and the waiters worked with the chefs to make a perfect meal for her. Sounds simple but there are so many restaurants that don't want to deal with someone who has food allergies. Can't wait to come back to this place!
We enjoyed lunch today on the lovely back deck outdoors. I had the Caprese salad with chicken and my friend enjoyed the spinach salad with shrimp. For dessert, we had the popular apple crisp. Such a nice venue to eat and enjoy time with friends.
Pre-Thanksgiving tradition thanks to Kevin Brady.
Love the food here as usual and we had full portions. Only slight knock was the plates came to us a little messy, like it wasn’t cleaned up during expediting. No big deal though; food and service still great
Oh piatti, I love you. I am at a loss for words to describe how AMAZING their bread and dipping sauce is, it’s so good I’m speechless. I love the bolognese & the ricotta lemon ravioli they are both to die for. They have delicious meat dishes and their pizzas are also quite tasty! (They also do catering for take-home which my family loves to do)! The staff their is so friendly, it’s the best spot for Italian in Danville!
Fresh house-made pasta, amazing local bread (we ate 3 baskets), great ambience and amazing service. This restaurant earned its 5s all across the board and is one i would love to go back to when in the area.
First. Thank you so, so much to Tami, David, Robert, Chef Mike, GM John Perkins, and all of the Piatti Staff. Food was definitely on point! This was an AMAZING and intimate event for us - party of 18 in the Tuscan room. I cannot express the gratitude or the level of professionalism, care, and consideration that was shown to us. I have worked with numerous event coordinators as my profession is in this industry (working with hotels, restaurants, etc. for parties of 10 all the way to 2-3 thousand) and the event for my daughter’s birthday went off without a hitch. I mean, even before the day of the event, Tami, the event coordinator, was very responsive and flexible. She answered in detail, all my questions. She set up a meeting to give me a more hands on visual of the event location even while she was going on vacation. She followed up our meeting with multiple phone calls to ensure our event went the way it should while she was ON VACATION. She made sure the BEO (banquet event order) was modified every time we spoke and made changes to it and asked me to review it to ensure it was to my standard. Then, from the time we arrived for the event to the moment we left, the level of customer service has been the best I’ve seen. Not once in the 15 plus years I’ve worked in this industry has the coordinating staff ever helped in the actual set up of our event, but the staff at Piatti did (ie putting things out for our props that we brought, seeing and providing second opinions on whether the way things were laid out looked okay, helping carry items in from the vehicle to the venue location, setting props out. The moment we walked in, they offered drinks - coffee, water, tea, etc. to the set up crew. Continued to ask if we needed help with anything. It literally felt like they were part of the family, engaged and ready to assist with every aspect of the party. After the event, they helped with clean up, and even helped with throwing away props that we didn’t need anymore, I mean the whole 9. Last but not least, the price point is more than I can ask. For this level of service, the price point was seriously, all I can say is they are very generous. I was more than satisfied. I was ecstatic and we will most DEFINITELY do many more events here.
Good spot for celebrating a birthday or anniversary. The food is good and service was friendly. The golden beets salad with orange slices was really good!
Absolutely delicious and our waitress was amazing. I had the flat iron steak and was cooked to perfection.
The food was delicious and big portions. The service was excellent and fast. Highly recommend
Great place! Manny excellent dishes and service is excellent. It can get noisy and it is pricy but worth it
To celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, I surprised her & our girlfriends by taking them here. Piatti provided menus with a custom header "Happy Birthday Wishes to Christina!" (I had called two weeks ahead to make a reservation and they asked if I was celebrating a special occasion, hence the custom menu). The service was excellent, my duck risotto was exquisite & rich, and the mussels were flavorful. It was a romantic girls' night out.
We were there at the happy hour and tried their happy hour menu. All the food (especially margherita pizza and fritto misto) was delicious and the waiter was polite. We had a great time.
Enjoyed the catered Thanksgiving dinner we picked up on Thanksgiving day! It was still warm and tasted just like the Thanksgiving dinners I remember.my Mom used to make.
My wife and I absolutely love coming to Piatti in Danville. Every visit is a great experience, but our most recent one really stood out. From the moment we walked in, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome—especially with my wife’s small service dog. They made sure we were seated comfortably in a booth, and you could really tell they cared about making us feel at home. The manager, our waitress, and every staff member we interacted with were incredibly kind, attentive, and just genuinely good people. It’s rare to feel that level of care and hospitality these days, and it meant a lot to us. We also love the refreshed look of the restaurant—it feels warm and inviting, perfect for a date night or a casual evening out. And of course, the bread they serve is still amazing. It’s become one of our favorite little things to look forward to. If you haven’t been to Piatti in a while, or if you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and stop by. Great food, great people, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps you coming back.
I booked a table for 15 for my partner’s birthday celebration. From reservation to the time we left, the service and hospitality were excellent. What a pleasure it was to work with Tami Morgan, the special events manager, and our server, David. The food and cocktails as always are delicious and received high praise from my family and friends. We had a fantastic dining experience.
I have been to Piatti about 10 times in the last 6 months… The food is always delicious, no matter what you order. All the service stuff, including cleaning, is very friendly, attentive, proactive and detail-oriented.The atmosphere is very vibrant and social. I think it’s one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area.
Piatti in Danville is a true neighborhood gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm, friendly service and an inviting atmosphere. The Italian menu is deliciously authentic — every dish we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented. The pasta is fresh, the sauces rich, and the wine list pairs perfectly with the menu. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the overall experience felt relaxed yet special. Whether you’re grabbing dinner with friends or celebrating a special occasion, Piatti is a standout choice. Highly recommend!
Piatti in Danville stands out for getting the fundamentals exactly right. The food is refined without being pretentious, clearly made with quality ingredients and careful attention to flavor. Each dish feels deliberate and well balanced rather than overworked. What truly sets Piatti apart, however, is the service. The staff is polished, attentive, and genuinely engaged, striking the rare balance between being present and giving you space to enjoy the meal. It is the kind of place that feels effortlessly professional and consistently dependable. An excellent choice when you want great food and service you can trust.
This probably the best restaurant in all of Danville, and that’s a high bar. The food is spot on, delicious and has real flavor. All of the staff is five star and you can feel a genuine passion for serving customers with tasty food and a welcoming, cozy environment.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Food, Just a Bit Understaffed Had a lovely meal at Piatti—fantastic food, cozy atmosphere, and a well-curated menu with fresh, flavorful dishes. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The only downside was the service. Our server was clearly overwhelmed with a large table and wasn’t as attentive as we would’ve liked. He ended up mixing up one of our orders. While it was eventually corrected but others on the table waited and the food got cold. Still, the food was good enough that I’d consider coming back—hopefully with a bit more attentive service next time.
We had a fun experience at Piatti celebrating a birthday there. We made reservations a day ahead and they made it a fun experience by printing birthday wishes on their paper menu. We asked to be seated in the courtyard by the fountain. It is a good location if weather permitting. Their bread is something you really don't want to miss. The Gnocchi was average and so were the pasta. Tiramisu was really good. Service was super slow, it took us 2+ hours for dinner.
I had amazing experience at this place, amazing food, good vibe and yes very good service too!😄👏
Piatti in Danville is a comfortable, kind of loud place to enjoy a meal with friends. We had the Sole special, fried Brussel sprouts with added shrimp, blueberry crumble pie and ice cream. Dessert was the best!! We will be back !
Food was great with huge portions. I believe the waiter could have improved by mentioning about the huge dinner portions. Not everyone likes to take home nor waste food. As it is, there was no room for dessert. My friend and I could only finish half of our dinners - we could've shared the entrée. The place had a good sized indoor as well as outdoor dining space. Hostess was very pleasant and accommodating.
Great place for a decent lunch. Their grilled chicken ceaser salad wasn't bad. customer service was okay, but nothing to brag about.
Atmosphere is so vivid and casual. But, the squid ink pasta was not what I expected. Other food is good to enjoy.
Very friendly and attentive staff. We appreciated the experience and also the care their manager showed. The chicken sandwich was our favorite.
Came here for my wife's birthday. Service was good and food was good. Deviled eggs were okay, should have gone with the calamari. I got the steak, asked for it to be cooked medium, but it was more on the medium well side, but still delicious! My wife pasta was tasty, the spicy seafood pasta dish. A solid choice for a dinner spot near San Ramon without having to drive out to the city. One thing to note: Thought they were going to do something special for her since they took the time to ask me for her name and how to spell it, but nothing came of it, not even a dessert(we were too full to even have eaten it) or a happy birthday from the hostess.
Great service, food was very delicious. Always very busy. Wish the party’s were in a more private setting.
Company Luncheon and it was very good. The place filled up for lunch, and the food was well done. Menu is a bit small, and the reserved room we had was also too small for our party. Wait staff was professional and service was top notch. They did have gutter cleaning on that day and at that time during lunch, a little inappropriate. Overall, would suggest you give this place a try. Pros: Food is very good, and service is excellent. Restaurant has lots of windows, so the place is very bright. Free parking out side. The creme brulee dessert I tried was delicious. Cons: Parking lot is small and fills up quickly. Prices are on the higher end. It is a bit of a challenge to maneuver around the restaurant, especially if you need to use the restroom. If you plan on going, I highly suggest calling ahead and reserving a table.
Good food across a decent sized menu. Nothing particularly unique, but solid Italian food. Service, while somewhat inconsistent, is generally friendly and professional. Seems like there is quite of bit of new, inexperienced staff. Drinks are good. Prices not bad for Danville.
Gave this place another try with our team lunch yesterday and got disappointed with $35 steak quality as it being extremely chewy and lacking the taste. On the other hand, the beet salad was really fresh and delicious. Pumpkin cheesecake was very much on the dry side. Bread pudding is something to try. The ambience is classy and neat. Quiet and relatively busy starting around 3 PM. Service was pleasant and sometimes even fun with others cracking the jokes. Good to go every so often. Hope for the steak quality improvements.
This place seems like old school italian trattoria. they serve good pasta, pizza, antipasto which have standard of taste. Staff was quite humorous. What a huge mountain of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese on top of spinach Ravioli!! It tastes good but not much cheesy. Overall, it is good but not high-end(because of Trattoria) No frills!
I'm given 3.5. Bread and mussels is delicious. Pizza was dry. Shrimp pasta was just ok.
Good restaurant, nice ambience, tasty Italian food, good location. No tomato basil soup and few regular common Italian recipes are missing from the menu. Good table service.
We went to Piatti’s last night for a family birthday. Generally, both the service & food is excellent but not this time which was unfortunate because we had family from out of town and wanted to have them get the awesome experience. We had reservations at 5:30pm and we were seated promptly. Our server was David S. and he took a while to greet our table. I had to ask for his name and luckily I did because I had to call him over more than once because he was not very attentive. Not sure what kept him busy as other employees filled our water, delivered the appetizers, salads and main dishes and came with fresh grated cheese. David only took our order, brought cocktails and the birthday dessert. The food was delicious as always. Several people had the Petrale Sole and the rest had Lasagna. A small piece of tiramisu was brought out with a candle which was nice and dessert menus dropped off. We would have ordered dessert but it was 10-15 minutes before David returned to ask us if we wanted dessert. By that time, the bday person had finished their dessert long before. No offer of coffee etc. We are used to great service and were very disappointed so we will not be back for a while.
Four of us had lunch. Three very good plates of pasta, fish, and a custom pasta plate. Unfortunately, the gnocchi was very much overcooked. It should have gone back to the kitchen. We only ate half and did not ask for a takeout box. Our server asked "how was lunch?", so we told him the gnocchi was overcooked. At first he tried to argue that it was cooked correctly, but after taking away the plate, he came back and did not charge us for the dish. Overall a nice and popular restaurant.
I have have eaten at Piatti 4 years ago at birthday and again in a smaller group, the food was impeccable both times. Yesterday was another birthday and the food quality of most dishes has deteriorated. The 2 pasta dishes had been cooked without salt. The chicken piccata was greasy and no lemon or capers. The minestrone and apple crisp were good. The wait staff were trying. But the food preparations did not make us want to return. The ambiance remains lovely and the drinks wee good. Food a disappointment
Truly have mix feelings about this place. First the vibe was interesting and was not in a positive way. Our waiter seems nice at first but his english gotten harder and harder to understand than the service went south.
I came here for my mom's 75th birthday with my family. The hostess was warm and friendly but the service was absolutely terrible. The waiter was so lackluster. We had some water spilled on the table and no one came to clean it up. They barely gave us attention and the restaurant was not busy at all. There were specials we missed because no one told us about them until later. Only after I had asked did he bring out a tiramisu slice with a candle on it. This was a big milestone birthday and I had hear really great things about Piatti but sadly I don't think I will return. The food quality was good, but for the price and service it was not worth it.
Unhappy dinner on birthday event. We been there for birthday party and the we couldn't enjoy our food. The food didn't meet expectations. They are very blunt not much flavour to them. We ordered a pizza and Prawn Pasta.
We have been going to Piattis for 29 years for our anniversary and always loved it! We went last night (first time being there after recent remodel) and were VERY disappointed. We asked for the table for two in front of the fireplace like usual, but when I entered the room, everything looked different! No more fancy white table cloths, the fireplace wasn’t even lit (even though raining and cold outside) and they sat us in the corner. There was a very different atmosphere in the once cozy, romantic upscale room with people all dressed up having quiet meals. Now the room is filled with large tables and groups talking very loud. The food was good, but not great. The once classy professional waiters, are now loud and casual. The clincher is we paid over 200 dollars for that painful experience. My husband couldn’t get over they even served our wine in the wrong glasses which would have NEVER happened in the past under the old management. I heard the new manager wants a casual atmosphere, well he’s got it! He should lower his prices and call the place Denny’s now. We’re never going back! Such a sad loss for Danville!
