Good for pizza and drinks with a view; tho the drinks were a bit pricey, the pizza was a good value for the price and tasted great.
Good food, service, & selection. Great views. A solid place to chill for a bit. Pretty amazing what they do with their off-the-grid facility. Speaking of facilities, those are missing, just outhouses for pilots.
Need a break? This is the place. Good food, good views, good music. Watching people clamber their way into the sky? Entertaining and awe-inspiring! Definitely makes my "must eat there" list!
Great food, fabulous service, and the owner, George, was absolutely wonderful to us! We’re visiting from Reno and looking for some good bites in La Jolla and found this place on Google. George made the whole experience with his customer service. He gave us free beer before our flight because he knew we needed it. Do yourself a favor and come eat here!
We came here to try the pizza and beer while we watched the Paragliders at Torrey Pines Gliderport. We ordered a Meat Lovers and Pizza Bianca. Both were so delicious but the Bianca was outstanding! We enjoyed the beer as we waited roughly 20 minutes for the wood-fired pizza. Kudos to Chris, the pizza master!! 😮💨🤌 We look forward to next time!
Really great little café at the Torrey Pines Glider Port. Mostly a soup/sandwich place, but with large, excellent quality sandwiches at reasonable prices for San Diego (around $8-$10). Their chili is also superior - healthy but still tasty - and a $2.95 "cup" was more like a bowl...probably the best deal there. Some of the best BLTs in San Diego!
Came here yesterday on valentines day. We had just got done doing a hike in Torrey Pines state beach. We googled some lunch spots and found this one. We are sandwich people so we thought to try it... and it did not disappoint. We loved the amazing view of the ocean and the gliders. It was like lunch and entertainment in one. It really was relaxing. I ordered the TURKEY TUSCANY but sub ROSEMARY BREAD and my fiance got the HAM TEXAN. Both were delicious. The rosemary bread is so good! The lady taking our order was super nice. The ambiance was beyond beautiful because u are on a cliff with the ocean view and air and the San Diego sun.. Note: it may seem confusing when you walk up but yes it's the blue building connected to the gliderport. Also it's a dirt parking lot.
Great place to have lunch along the cliff overlooking the ocean and watching the paragliders. Descent priced food and drinks...well worth the visit. 👍
Loved this cool spot overlooking the parsgliders field. It's an absolute don't miss to chill and hang out while watching the paragliders. Good drinks, great food. A unique and different thing to do while in San Diego. Lots of parking but a bumpy dirt lot
Great place to watch the sunset as well as watching the gliders out there floating around. Bar area and food is a great addition. Definitely worth going to and watching the sun go down while having a nice drink 🍻
Drinks with a view and that amazing San Diego weather. It was bit busy but we were able to get great seats. They have a full bar but canned seemed easier. We didn’t order food or use the restrooms (portapotties only!).
Unique and fun experience with top notch sandwiches as a pleasant surprise! Delicious and while a bit pricey, you pay for the views and the portions are generous. Worth the trek to get here. Great place to bring friends and family if they’re in town. Place was buzzing on a beautiful May afternoon.
It's such a cool place! The food was quite good! Tasted healthy and was filling. Great view of people taking off on their gliders, great music vibes, and i would be happy to go for dinner/drinks next time. Overall, it is a very nice place to hang out, get some food, and watch the waves. Just watch out cus it gets a bit chilly with the wind :).

Lunch with a rare view! Many healthy options on menu. Relaxed place to toss back a cold brewski, watch the gliders and chill.

Super cool little hole in the wall place. Located at the top of a cliff by the ocean. Truly an amazing place to watch the sunset
The view is great. The place can get pretty crowded on the weekends and on hot days it might be challenging to find some shade. The food is much better than your typical landmark cafe and the prices are very reasonable.
Had the Veggie Delight Wrap as well as the Greek salad. Both were delicious 😋. The view is spectacular!
Shoutout to JESSE! His playlist was on point. I take my headphones everywhere and when I need to get work done I usually won't take them off but the vibe was so good I didn't pull them out once. Of course, it is also so beautiful and food and drink was delish and high quality. I will be bringing my friends back over the summer.
Super cool spot. Amazing place to bring people from out of town. Awesome to watch the gliders take off. Great sandwiches and a surprisingly long list of beers on tap. A ton of seating and they make the food quick even when it’s really busy. Love these local spots!

This place has such a nice atmosphere - a grassy hill overlooking the ocean where you can watch paragliders take off. It's also dog friendly! A group of us got together on Sunday around 11am and were able to find parking. I do have 2 small complaints. Two of our group are vegetarians, so they both ordered the "Veggie Delight Wrap." - The first order was missing multiple items (jicama, pepperoncini, etc) -The second order had a piece of turkey slice. Obviously this was an accident, however, you'd think that a popular, established cafe would know how to either separate utensils or sanitize their items properly. I eat meat, so it wasn't too much of a problem for me, and I'm curious what the other items on their menu taste like, so I might go back anyway. The other sandwiches were pretty good, but the breakfast burrito was only okay.
The food is simple, a little better than you'd see at another food stand someplace, but you can't beat the view. Great place to sit and watch or take a little hike, and eat before or after.
Cliff Hanger Cafe is a casual spot that offers decent food, perfectly suited for its scenic location. The pesto chicken sandwich was huge, while the chicken Caesar wrap was okay, though not the best I’ve ever had. Very heavy on the lettuce, but not enough chicken or substance. I didn’t taste any croutons. However, the tortilla was fresh and toasted. The service left something to be desired—slow and a bit disorganized, with orders being called out in no particular rhythm. It felt more like a food truck experience, albeit one built into a building, serving up standard lunch fare. I came in with low expectations, and they were met. While the food isn’t anything special, it’s good enough for a quick bite in a beautiful setting. If you’re looking for a casual meal without high expectations, Cliff Hanger Cafe fits the bill.
The wait was pretty darn long, but it's a fun place to just watched the hang gliders. The sandwich was okay
You don't go there for the food, you go for the experience and the atmosphere. Drinks were good and it was a fun place to hang out at for a few hours.
The location is what makes this place great. It's nice to sit there and watch the paragliders practice, takeoff, and land. There's a beautiful view of the beach below. Service is ok. Ordered at the counter and was given a receipt with a number that they will call out when our food is ready is be picked up at the trailer in the back. Prices are $12 for a sandwich by itself. There were no sides included. I ordered the Chicken pesto sandwich and it was good. Bought an overpriced bag of chips and a small bottle of iced tea too.

Stunning view and great music. However, I’m not sure how they can call it a cafe if they only have black coffee. They don’t have milk so if you’re looking for coffee with a view, find somewhere else.
It's a nice place, but the ad on the share button on the google page sucks. When you're trying to share this with somebody, they gotta watch stupid.Ads before it will come up. And some of the ads are inappropriate
Casual sandwich 🥪 shop right next to the hand glider launch 🚀 over the cliffs. Lots of picnic benches where you can get an amazing view of the La Jolla coastline and the gliders. Fun place to visit and enjoy the beautiful views of the hand gliders. The sandwiches we had were decent but not great but I like that they have a quick restaurant next to the glider port.
Gorgeous view while the paragliders practice. The sandwich was odd? Acapulco Chicken. Delicious fresh ingredients….but no discernible seasoning (salt/sauce/etc.) The end result was fresh, tender and surprisingly bland.

The service was terrible. The steak that I ordered should’ve been medium rare and it came out to be a cow that could’ve been resuscitated. However, my mother‘s quiche was good. It was pretty clean and was not too loud. I still would never go back.

The location is amazing, unfortunately the Porta potties are disgusting. No excuse to have filthy restrooms at a popular public attraction
Be prepared to wait a literal hour for a sandwich. Most places would have gone out of business by now for such slow service, but I imagine most of their customers are one-time tourists.
Their poor service made me decide never to return to that restaurant, despite the paragliding area being a fun place to visit. After paragliding, we went to a restaurant for lunch and ordered two hamburger combos. However, even after an hour, our food hadn't arrived, After about seventy minutes, we finally got our burgers, but I was tired and annoyed from the wait. The burgers were okay but not great,
Came here for a wedding. Beautiful views. Bartender was insanely rude. Brown hair, tattoo on neck. Refused to make my recovering alcoholic sister an NA cocktail. We politely offered to pay full price of drink, sans alcohol. But he said “i don’t know what you cant understand”. Sad.
Took 50 minutes to get 2 cold sandwiches. They are very busy and the workers are great but if someone would have told us before ordering how long to wait would take, we wouldn’t have ordered.
I’m honestly very disappointed with the way I was treated at this bar. I ordered a pizza and waited… and waited. After about 30 minutes, I politely asked about it and was told it was coming. Another 30 minutes passed and still nothing. I had to ask again, only to find out my order had basically been forgotten. What made the situation worse wasn’t just the delay — mistakes happen. It was the attitude. The cashier and the manager were both dismissive and rude when I brought it up. Instead of apologizing and trying to fix the situation professionally, they acted like I was inconveniencing them for simply asking about food I had already paid for. Good customer service isn’t about being perfect; it’s about how you handle problems when they happen. In this case, the lack of accountability and the disrespectful tone were unacceptable. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting basic courtesy.
