Recommend anything soup related, such as the tom yum and chicken noodle soup. Always very plentiful and delicious. Also the soy milk here is actually ‘real’ soy milk, not the bleached and diluted ones you find in supermarkets.
Great food with large portions! The price is cheap as well. Highly recommend!
Fantastic. The vegan options were great, and the service was exceptionally fast. I work on campus and I’m so glad to have found a great lunch spot.
Quick and delicious Thai food. They also have fresh soy milk and yo-tiao (chinese long donut). A great place to grab food and find a place to sit/study.
Their curries are good and filling, and the service is always excellent. Their tom kha soup is particularly good
Great place with nice and delicious food! Love the mango sticky rice and Thai tea there!
Great food great price bring your bike parking is a good walk from cafteria
Chinese long doughnuts are pretty authentic. Porridge is great too.
I've been here in La Jolla for almost 7 years as a graduate student and now I'm a post-doc. Hi Thai is located close to my building. It's so convenient to go get lunch/dinner at Hi Thai. First of all, I'm Thai (My family owns a Thai restaurant in Thailand, I know how good Thai food should be!). Second, I understand that it's a campus food (basically for UCSD students and staff)! Due to reasonable prices, hot foods service, and friendly people at Hi Thai, I gave them 5/5!!! My favorites are Thai Boat Noodles, Siamese Noodles, BBQ Pork Noodles, Pork Chop (you can ask them to remove bone for you!). Don't listen to any campus tour guys who never try this place but keep telling you that it's not recommended. Hi Thai...best food on campus!!! PS: It's true that some items are not authentic, but not bad to try. As you know, even american food, you have so many recipe/protocols to cook them, right?
I don't understand why this place had such bad reviews. Look down at those comments - Nobody didn't say which plates or what kind of food that they got. I work here for 5 years and Hithai is the place that I go eat with my friends almost everyday. Pork Chop is the best. Panag curry sandwich is the best too. Also, Thai Tom Yum Noodle Soup and Egg Noodle BBQ pork are my favorite ones. What are you complaining about the price or service? These are only 5 bucks dishes and togo order only. Do not say anything if you have just ordered Pad Thai with your limited knowledgeable about Thai food and you didn't like it. This place has so much things that delicious and healthy. If expect to get great atmosphere why don't just go to La Jolla- Garnet st or Pearl St there are lot of Thai food restaurants there and you'll end up spend $30-50/person. Pad Thai dishes there, average prices are $9-$12. I'll vote this place for 5 stars for their delicious food and friendly service - Stan- He is the great manager and his staffs are very friendly.
Their food is great. Some meals they give enough food that you can have leftovers for dinner, so it's like two meals in one. It also smells nice in there. They also have a water fountain and bathroom if you're studying in the Old Student Center.
Best restaurant in UCSD. Try drunken noodles, or Tom Yang noodel soup with Thai iced tae.
It is a nice place at the ucsd campus near Revelle college. The staff was efficient and courteous. I ordered vegetarian pad thai and it was tasty.

I’m a student at UCSD and blue pepper is a great place to get some lunch. Wasi always brings a welcoming environment to the restaurant. Def try the drunken noodles !

It's not amazing food, and it's definitely not traditional Thai food. However, for the reasonable price, good location, friendliness, and actually ok cuisine, it really isn't too bad. I'd give it a 6/10 overall.
Great food, my only complaint is that I asked for no tofu and there was a lot of tofu in my curry. Food was delicious after I picked it all out though!
I had my first Thai food at this place. I love the vibe and the food here. The staff is friendly as well. They have fake meat options as well.
Decent Asian food at good rates. Nothing spectacular but not bad for a quick lunch.
Good food. Good vegetarian options. Quick and friendly. Love the soup!
Love their yellow and green curries...Their lemon jelly tea is outrageously tasty..
Excellent Thai food at a reasonable price. Best on campus. BBQ pork dishes are very tasty. More curry items and seafood needed on the menu.
I honestly only ever eat Chicken Pad Thai when it comes to Thai food and honestly this place doesn’t do it too poorly. The chicken can be a hit or miss. I’ve had the driest nastiest chicken breast sometimes, but then i’ll go and it’ll be some really decent chicken thigh. I also have to say that I like how spacious the interior is and the proximity to the restrooms. You can get there, wait a little until a table is free and then just drop your stuff off while you wash your hands and settle in. I go to the General Store before coming here and get all my drinks there (1$ Arizonas). Overall, it’s a solid place. Definitely not DAYGOEATSCERTIFIED✅ but I can say that I approve and if you want Thai food in a pinch here on campus, this is not a bad contender. I also would ask for no green onion (Idk why I didn’t like it at this place).
Sorry but for me, the drunken noodles were too greasy and salty. Some part pf the food also overcooked on the edge. I also tried the pad thai, it was not too greasy but kind of sweet.
Thai style chicken/beef/shrimp noodles and rices. All dishes are sweeter than you imagine.
Flavored well, the price is good and the portions are large.

Good amount of food, not expensive and fast service.
Can be a little pricey, but worth it because the portions are big. The food is a hit or miss. Cant go wrong with their noodle dishes. I wish the protein wasn't so dry. Their soup is hands down my favorite.
They add way too little protein/ noodle in the soup. However, food was good!
Decent Thai spot in the UTC area, especially for UCSD students. Not gonna be the best Thai food but the portions are big, the service is fast, and it gets the job done. I usually order the drunken noodles or one of the rice + curry options. Yes the drunken noodles can be very greasy and very spicy but that's not a problem for me. I don't recommend the soy milk, it's of questionable freshness. The tom yum noodle soup is also good, but quality is hit or miss (once I got it and it was wayyyy too salty to finish). It's definitely not made to order but it's a step above HDH and most other dining options on campus with similar prices. It also has a microwave and plenty of tables / chairs to heat up your own food and study.
Pretty decent food when I want (more real) Asian food. This place takes Triton Cash too which is convenient. Service is fast and tables and floors get sweeper pretty regularly
The food quality is awesome. One dish I would recommend here is the Pad Thai. The price is also good. Overall , the place is very good for filling your stomach fully or you could say a very good place for brunch at an affordable price

Food is okay but fairly inconsistent. Service is a bit unfriendly at times but responsive enough. Pretty good place to study, especially with a group.
Some dishes are good like their noodle dishes byt the curries are pretty bad. You get a good amoubt of food and its decent prices.
I ordered the Pad Thai and it had little flavor. The Thai Tea with boba was good.
I really like the staff and enjoy the Thai flavors, but the food is often overcooked.
Decent pho. Sandwiches are okay. Great drinks and fruit. Get the chinese donut.
the chicken pad thai was.. disappointing to say the least!
generous portions as stated for the price, tastes more like a fast food place (oily, not same taste) than a restaurant but still good and filling if you're craving Asain cuisine and it's convenient.
The building itself has lots of seating so it's a good place to go study. The food is pretty good, I like the pad-thai. It can get busy around lunch time, they do have a cash only line so if you pay with cash you can order pretty quickly. The boba is not very good, it's kinda mushy, but the Thai tea is good.

Twice they got my orders wrong the last two times I went, both times they gave me the short ribs and I ordered something quite different. It was intentional, you can tell that they are not selling the stuff, cuz it was just meat and rice. I have decided to stop going there. Their taste has improved after the name change, but prices have gone up, so still not worth more stars.
Hope they have more warm lights and turn on heater. The place is always cold.
You know how sometimes you taste love in the food you eat? Well you are not going to have that here. Very over priced. The food is laden with oil and salt. The noodle soup is v v very msg based. I'm not against msg but it'll be nice to have soup that don't rely on it, especially for the price offered. I know blue pepper can do better than that. Do better than just ripping students off bc of the limited alternatives on campus. Ex. This spring roll costed almost 6 bucks.

Pad Thai is slimy, way too much sauce and chicken tastes weird, decent portions
This place is super hit or miss when it comes to the beef noodle soup. One day it'll be good, the next day it will be so bland I consider getting a refund. Probably going to stop going here because it's more miss than hit.

The only reason this place is still alive is because it's the closest to Revelle college and it's kinda bad. The only thing that's moderately good is the banh mi sandwiches, but other than that, the pad thai, pad-see-ew are all tasteless. They do have vegetarian options using tofu instead of meat, but like the counterparts, they are not good. Some of my friends have even gotten food poisoning from there. Do not recommend.
if you hate yourself like i do you’d fork over $15 for the driest thai bbq chicken of your life
Worst Thai food I've ever had. Got the pad see ew. The portion size is pretty big and the food comes out like 3 minutes after you order so none of it is "fresh" or made to order obviously. The taste is sour and bitter. The heat is uneven. It's actually gross. The Thai iced coffee tasted like nesquik with ice cubes. A couple of sips and I had to toss it. No thanks. Get tacos instead, this asian food is so bad it's like an Asian hate crime given physical manifestation.
Both times ive ordered from here the container has leaked in the bag and ruined my clothing and the dish itself. Called the first time explaining the soup container burst at the bottom and they were incredibly unsympathetic and refused to believe me. Ordered a different dish the second time thinking surely the entree container wont leak and then it did and now im covered in oil and sauce until the end of the day again. If the flavor was good id give another star but its bad food, Scary dry factory chicken and mushy brown rice. I will never eat here again.
