This place was great! The chicken kebab was perfectly juicy and flavorful. As was the rice which was so delicious and buttery. For $16 you get a ton of food which is great. The lady behind the counter (maybe the owner) was so kind and gave me a sample of their soup of the day. I’m not sure what it was but it als was very good. I’ll definitely be back
Absolutely phenomenal Ghormeh Sabzi (vegetable lamb stew). Deep, balanced, and comforting flavors packed with fresh herbs, tangy dried limes, and tender, fall-apart lamb that makes every bite memorable. The stew is rich and aromatic, perfectly cooked, and tastes like true homemade Persian food. Mr. Ali's hospitality made it even better; he welcomed us with a plate of crispy tahdig (scorched rice) and a refreshing doogh (yogurt drink). Generous portions, authentic taste, and a warm atmosphere. We will definitely return.
Food was excellent. Kabob was very tender. Would definitely go back.
This place is amazing. Easily the best persian cuisine in San Diego. The food is lovely and they make it right in front of you there is no back kitchen. They also sell most of their ingredients except for meat and chicken. Awesome crew as well very friendly, kind, and warm.
I have been going to Persian restaurants for well over 50 years and time to time I run into one that stands out and has the authentic Persian experience and quality food. This place is one of them.
Namino Persian Restaurant is an absolute treasure, and I can’t say enough good things about it. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and the unmistakable aroma of authentic Persian cuisine. Owner Ali Zabdi has done a phenomenal job bringing the flavors of Iran to life — every dish reflects care, tradition, and culinary mastery. The kabob koobideh is incredibly juicy and seasoned to perfection. The barg melts in your mouth with every bite, and the lobia polo is the perfect balance of savory and aromatic. But the real standout for me was the tahchin — golden, crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. It’s a masterpiece! Ali truly knows how to make very, very good food — food that not only fills you up, but makes you feel at home. You can tell everything is made with love and high standards. This is more than a meal — it’s an experience. Highly recommend Namino to anyone craving delicious, authentic Persian dishes. I’ll definitely be coming back — again and again!
This is one of the best spots for Persian food in the La Jolla area! Atmosphere is very basic, but the food more than makes up for it. You can watch the owners grill the kebabs in front of you. The soltani kebab, rice and salad are delicious. They even have the authentic Persian yogurt drink for sale. Highly recommended!
My absolute favorite! The juiciest yummiest beef & chicken kabab!
The food as incredibly awesome. This is my favorite place for Persian food in San Diego. All kababs are great. I had some specials and they were delicious as well. In one sentence, the food feels like home. Mr. Hooshang is such a lovely man with great sense of humor. He takes his time with the food he prepares. It is a couple of years later. I still come here regularely. The quality of the food is consistent and of course great.
If you want to have a satisfying Persian Meal .. This is your place to visit. The Chicken is soft and tender whereas the Beef Kebab is juicy and well spiced and definitely have then with white rice and butter. The restaurant is managed by a family and I would advise you to call them to check if there is Beef or Chicken available because it is freshly prepared on daily basis and it sells out fast. Special thanks to Mr. Hoshsng for this excellent restaurant.

Reza the owner, was very pleasant and caring. food was incredibly fresh and delicious.
Truly so impressed by the quality of the badamjan and fesenjan, easily the best I’ve had outside a home kitchen. The fellow who served us was so kind and gracious. Really enjoyable, much better than other Persian options in the San Diego area.
The owner Ali had great hospitality and the food was incredible. Amazing kebabs and saffron rice. Best Iranian food I’ve ever had compared to NYC and Dubai. I have a dairy allergy but Ali was very helpful and accommodating. Great way to end my San Diego trip!
I’m beyond impressed with the flavors, quality, and hospitality at Namino. The Persian kabobs—especially the koobideh and joojeh—were perfectly seasoned and grilled to juicy perfection. The saffron rice was fragrant and fluffy, and the salad added a fresh crunch that balanced the meal beautifully. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even more memorable. You can tell every dish is made with care and authenticity. San Diego doesn’t have many Persian gems, but Namino is a standout. Highly recommend for anyone craving delicious, comforting Persian food.
Been a loyal customer since they first blew me away with the food truck. I am super picky when it comes to beef koobideh which is what I judge all Persian restaurants I visit. I tried their beef koobideh - flavor, juiciness, tenderness and was blown away. Its the best I've had in SD. Also highly suggest the chicken kebab - adding barberry rice is the move. The combo of the savory chicken, the sweet tartness of the barberries on their rice with some sumac is what dreams are made of. I usually need to get some tuom (garlic paste - its a lebanese sauce not persian) with my chicken kebab - but I don't even need it here because the flavor is so good. I also love to order the special dish as well because everything they make is sooo good. Order some Doogh to drink with your kebabs and its just chefs kiss perfection. ENJOY!
Everything was good, I like the all kebab, juicy and delicious. Ghorme sabzi was the best.

The food was fantastic. Meat was tender, juicy and had proper spices. Portion size was disappointing though. The Kobeideh kebab skewer is small though compared to other restaurants. An adult male would need probably four of them to feel full with a total price of $45+tip+tax.

Good value for money. Rice could be more flavorful, kebabs were good
We really wanted to like this place. We like to support locally owned businesses. Located next to pho and chicken places, we felt like we made the wrong choice. The service was fine, even though he forgot whether we had paid, but it's counter service. We were planning to eat in, but the lighting was so garish we couldn't handle it. The food was just ok. The chicken kabob was tasty, the beef was a chewy cut. Lots of onion. I'm sure there's a secret menu that insiders order.

Noooooo! I have been coming here for 30 years. It seems the owners just sold it in Feb. I used to get the chicken wrap that was the best ever! I just ordered one and it was served in a cold burrito tortilla with some weird hot sauce. She said she ran out of lavash bread. Lol. Well all good things come to an end. Bummer. They should call it what it is now, Don Carlos Kabab Shop.
This is the worst Persian food I have ever had and I know what Persian food is. Don’t go here to eat if you want the real thing! My grandmother was born in Iran, she spoke some Farsi, and made authentic Persian food. I came with a Persian friend of mine and we both agreed: This was the blandest, most inauthentic version of what can be called “Persian food”. The rice was dry and unflavorful. Nowhere near “saffron rice” more like turmeric rice, a cheap colored version. Also what Persian restaurant puts thousand island on their salad? If I wanted American food I would’ve went to McDonald’s. Only the beef kabobs itself contained any real flavor, but paying $20 for one kabob with terrible rice and thousand island lettuce is absurd. One positive, the food presentation was nice lol. Will definitely not be back. Y’all have been warned.

$41 for sultany no problem but Your disgusting food taste like buffalo meat! Charged for must Khiar never got it!! Begged for bread nd butter one piece of lavash and no butter. Your attitude is extremely unfriendly.
Unfortunately, this was the worst dining experience I’ve had. The food took an hour and a half to be served, we weren’t offered even basic water/ bread service, we were charged extra for the food we didn’t order, and my friend became ill with food poisoning.
