The best Chinese buffet I ever been to. If you’re in love with sea food it’s a great place and if you have someone in your family who doesn’t like seafood they can find so many non-seafood delicious options as well. The variety of oysters and shrimp is incredible. So many well cooked chicken, beef and pork dishes. Different type of noddle and fried rice. The Sochi bar has different type on top of that, there is a great chef who makes the Sochi of your choice. Finished with the entree, the desert and cookie bar is so delicious, make sure you leave some spot for that before you feel so full. For all the courses, there is veggie options available too. The staff are so polite, nice and helpful. As I said at the beginning the best experienced I had in a Chinese buffet.
Chinatown Cafe at 2317 W University Dr #125, Denton, TX 76201 First thing you want to know is this restaurant has rewards program. So make sure you get your rewards card and get it stamped every time you eat here. Now to me this is a typical Chinese buffet that caters to a lot of different tasty🍛🍲🍤🥡🍚🍱🥠🍟 items for lunch especially. I was able to eat corn dog and fries somedays. Typically the food is very good, hot, fresh and ready to eat at 11:00 a.m. I do want to give out to shout out to my server 👨💼 I always sit in the front right and this guy is always very attentive and focused on details when he's serving the customers. Next time I got to get to know his name better. I would definitely recommend eating here anytime you're craving some delicious Chinese food with extra 😉
Ordered takeout via TooGoodToGo app and wow, was I surprised. The amount of food you get for the price is incredible, along with the variety of food. Thank you for caring about food waste and for being a part of a good cause by participating. Prior to this, I have never eaten here but passed it a million times and I'm so happy I discovered this hidden gem.
For a Chinese buffet, this place meets all the criteria. Highlights: corn nuggets, steamed white fish (with ginger and green onions), hot and sour and egg drop soups, cold pasta salads, teriyaki chicken, and the spicy ribs (tender and moist). I'm not a fan of the sushi, nor of the napkins by request (instead of available at the table). Some dishes look dried-out and I'd like to see better aesthetics with the dishes that are likely pre-prepared. Avoid wontons, gyoza, and dumplings; undercooked, skin too thick, and don't taste right. Verdict: affordable, good Chinese all-you-can-eat spot with a solid fried food selection.
price on picture is not accurate. about 1.50 more than expected. food was good not the best buy also not near the worse. good for price. cozy smaller atmosphere
CHINATOWN CAFE 06-19-24 We tried the all you can eat buffet. The restaurant was clean had a nice atmosphere. It was about 5:30 pm. They were filling the buffet up fuller for the dinner rush. The food was hot and fresh. They had many choices. Almost too many! I think they had something for everyone. They had Sushi, a fungus type grill where you pick your meat and veggies and they cook them for you. Many choices! The food was about average. Nothing special just good.
Pretty disappointed. We used to always order the “best deal” from Chinatown. We paid 65 dollars for delivery for three people, i noticed right away the fried rice container was like half the size it used to be. Then my husband tucked into his “best deal” which used to come with a egg roll, chicken wing and soup. Well apparently the price went up and the food went down. No chicken wing, no egg roll… only disappointment. Will not be ordering from Chinatown anymore.
Not the worst buffet I have been to but by no means the best. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was clean and well attended to, the food was just okay, probably won't be back.
Went on a Saturday evening for dinner for 3 in the coldest part of the year. The restaurant was freezing- could not get comfortable- had to keep jackets on. I know it’s probably expensive to heat that huge restaurant. The waitress was great. FOOD WAS AWFUL- out of a lot of things (maybe because the freeze has slowed down everyone’s restocks) - a lot of old food that looked & tasted like it had just been sitting there for hour's, was very bland, desserts that used to be plentiful were seriously lacking. For the price it was a serious bummer. Very obvious that’s the management changed. The best part of the experience was the big beautiful ZZ plants in the front. That’s it.
My family and I have eaten here numerous times over the years with nothing bad. This trip, the worst ever. Nearly everything was cold, you could taste the frozen in the vegetables. Even the soup broths were tepid at best. The worst part is we had it daughter and grandchildren with us. She loves hibachi, and so she ordered it. Meat was either severely over done or the toughest cut of meat one could buy. I will be hard pressed to return another time.
First time back since their remodel and possibly new owners but will for sure not be coming back. Food looked very old as if it hadn’t been changed all day. Was very dry and even cold somehow. Did not enjoy this visit worth the drive to just go to king buffet on 35. Service is fine nothing special but the food is really not anything like it used to be a year or two ago do not waste your time.
This place use to be amazing. They are now under new ownership and the food selection shows it. We will not be coming back until changes are made. The service however was still great, they do what they can with what they have.
ROACHES! There was a roach in my friend’s water and he only noticed once it was in his mouth. Other friends of mine said roaches were seen in their food in the past after I brought it up. Manager tried to only refund my friend instead of the whole table. Eventually relented, but was very rude about it. Surprised this place has not been shut down.
I use to enjoy coming to this restaurant. Today was an unusually cold day. The restaurant was cold and so was the food. It would not have been bad if the food was warm. Hopefully this is a temporary problem that they will be able to fix. We didn’t eat much at all but it still cost $20 each.
We used to love coming here but had lunch there today and the food looked like it had been sitting for a long time. There was what looked like “film” over the food, certain foods were cold and the fried rice had clumps of uncooked rice. I got chocolate pudding and bit into a metal piece. For $60 for 3 people it was absolutely not worth it. Will never go back.
New ownership and the food quality is TRASH now. I normally drive 30 mins for this place and I was so disappointed yesterday. The food looked Bland, the noodles were cut up into tiny pieces so I knew something was off. At checkout I asked if they were under new ownership and the man confirmed my thoughts. I won’t be back and now have to find a replacement!
This place is the most disgusting restaurant I’ve ever been to. It was completely unsanitary. We could tell something felt off the moment we walked in, but we decided to give it a try since we had never been there before — big mistake. The food looked like it had been sitting out all day. The next day, my entire family got food poisoning, and one of us ended up in the hospital for two weeks. 😡 I definitely do not recommend this place to anyone.
Wow!! All I can say is wow! Used to love going here as a family as the food was delicious and flavorful and was reasonably priced but NOT ANYMORE. Food was cold, mushy, and looked like had been sitting out all day. Should have taken photos but fried rice was puke green?? Disgusting over all and will never be coming back. And to top it all off 62 DOLLARS for three people. We all had waters as well. Absolutely ridiculous.
Went in for a lunch buffet and found everything to be cold to touch even though steam was rolling off the steamers. Dr Pepper from the fountain tasted like dirt due to dirty ice. Atleast my egg drop soup was decent enough. Please beware about coming here, I feel safety department needs to pay them a visit.
Went on a Saturday afternoon. Everything except for the chicken skewers was terrible. Peel and eat shrimp-old, no flavor Sautéd Shrip- bad flavor Sesame chicken- mushy and tastes like it came from an expired bag of Walmart brand Asian chicken. Lo mein - mushy and soured flavor. Fried rice- how do you screw that up? Good staff. Prompt service, but terrible terrible food. Not worth $40.02 for two people.
The food looked like it had been out all day and was somehow burnt and dry but cold and mushy at the same time. Staff was nice enough but took a while to take plates even though it was dead inside. Needless to say it hurt my soul to even stay; way too expensive. You’re better off going anywhere else even if it’s not a buffet because you won’t make it to your second plate without feeling sick.
