I saw this place nearby and stopped for lunch. I got the brisket sandwich and jalapeno slaw. It was so good. You can see through the glass the rotisserie chicken turning, and the smell was so yummy. It does only have a single bathroom, so make sure to lock the door.

I love this place!! The flavor of their chicken is amazing, and the macaroni and cheese...is sooo amazing!! The cucumber jalapeno lemonade is really good too I enjoyed it very much!!! The atmosphere is very fun as it sets the feel for a great meal. The tables are kept clean and the staff are friendly and laid back.

The chicken is good. Some spots were undone, I cooked it a little. The mashed potatoes have a bitter weird taste. Green beans are ok. I'll just stick with the yummy chicken.

I used to come to Cowboy Chicken almost weekly. My go-to was always the Three Piece Dark with Twice Baked Potatoes and Creamed Spinach. At some point in the past year, they dropped the creamed spinach from the menu, which was a huge bummer for me. I’ve since swapped it out for the fried okra, which is good, but it’s just not the same. Because of that, I’ve probably only been back a couple of times this past year. That said, the chicken is still really solid. It’s tender, juicy, and has that great smoked, fire-roasted flavor that originally hooked me. The place still feels like a reliable, casual spot to grab a meal, and the experience itself hasn’t changed much. I just can’t help but miss that creamed spinach every time I’m there.

I used to live cowboy chicken :( they got rid of all the healthier sides I liked.. the cream spinach and charred broccoli was sooo good. Now they have three types of potatoes 3 types of beans.. green beans and slaw are the only healthier options :( chicken enchiladas are great though.

I don't come out to eat to sit in a restaurant with someone's obnoxious dog. It's more and more Austin/Cali up here every year in Denton. I hate coming to places I've gone to for years and seeing them changed by the new demographic. I've been coming to cowboy chicken for years. Foods great! Service is always on point, but they seemed afraid to mention to this individual that his NON "emotional support accessory" isn't appreciated inside. Or the management needs to do a better job. I'm a "dog person" myself, but before that I'm a "don't be an inconsiderate human" first. This dude was in his own world, not even realizing the whole restaurant moved away from him. That's fine. Bring your hypoallergenic four legged friend. There's plenty of comfortable places to sit here... OUTSIDE!

Used to come here pretty frequently on Sundays but I'm thinking we won't come as often anymore. The last two times we have come they have run out of chicken. We had to wait 15 minutes just to order, and almost an hour for our food. The rest of our party had finished eating before we even got to start, even though we ordered only shortly after them. I understand being busy on a Sunday but seems like they should have more staff on hand and more ovens running. The food is pretty good, with the chicken being the highlight of course. I'm sad they have changed their mac and cheese. I don't like the new recipe nearly as much. It's a watery, saucey mac and cheese versus the delicious baked mac and cheese they used to have. The okra has also been on the tough side the last few times we have come. Overall I'm thinking we won't come as often as we used to just because the wait is usually so long, and the food isn't as good as it used to be.

The bbq chicken sandwich was the best part of the meal. The sides were a little off…the Mexican corn almost tasted like old milk however my gf enjoyed it 😂 so maybe it’s just my preference.. we both thought the potatoes tasted off… and for the slaw it had a unique flavor that became enjoyable after a few bites as there’s jalapeños in the mix. Sweet tea was very good however lemonade tasted slightly old.. friendly staff and cool atmosphere 👍🏽

Went out to buy chicken to go… At the table, noticed the chicken was not fresh it was re-heated, it was super dry and very tough to chew. But, but the worst thing was when we opened the disposable tray with sweet potato, it was so over cooked, that the skin looks like charcoal. If they said they have pride on serving quality food, then why they don’t do what they preach. Over all it was not a good experience.

I really have high hopes for this place because I am enjoy a good rotisserie. However with a side-by-side comparison between cowboy chicken and Walmart. Walmart wins hands down. For $7 I can buy the whole chicken at Walmart and it is more tender. At cowboy Chicken I got the three-piece dark. It comes with two small lakes and a small thigh. The meat was dry. And not much flavor. The cowboys slaw tasted like they put a whole bunch of Tabasco sauce in it. Which doesn't go good with a slaw. I also got the peach cobbler as a side. I was disappointed in that as well since it was super dry. I would recommend the owner go to Walmart and buy a rotisserie and compare it to his own rotisserie. And make changes before he loses his business.
