I grew up in Denton in the early 90s and used to love this place! I stopped by on my way through Denton the other day and it's amazing I definitely recommend you stop in here! Way better than subway or jimmy johns! By far!!! I hope they stay open even longer!

BEST SUBS ANYWHERE! From '77 to '81 while I was a UNT student, N.Y. subway was always my favorite place to eat! After I graduated in '81 & moved back to DFW, I continue stop at NY subway anytime I drive to/through Denton, to pick up a couple of YUMMY subs. N.Y. subway still makes the BEST SUBS anywhere! PLEASE open a store in N. Arlington, near AT & T stadium! I'll be the first person in line at the new store!

Amazing subs and priced reasonably!

I got introduced to NYS about 10 years ago, never have I ever had a better sub-sandwich! The food, the atmosphere, the owner are the greatest!

Been here a few times & already one of my favourite places to grab a quick meal, the subs are always amazing, they never jack you on the amount of pickles or any other toppings you want & the service is amazing with kind staff

This is one of our office favorites, we frequent it at least once a week. The sandwiches are great, a long list of options, the staff is very helpful and welcoming. You can also turn any sub into a salad.

The crew here builds real sandwiches - as opposed to the subway chain which serves fake sandwiches (guess you have to work there and see how the meat is "made"). Great service and great food for a great deal. It's been a d-town favorite for decades.

Just had one of the best sandwiches in the 18 yrs I’ve lived in Denton ( called the stops ) for only ten dollars you get a foot long that is absolutely delish !!! Will def be returning for another

Hands down the best sandwich shop in Denton. Great food at decent prices (a whole sandwich is an enormous amount of food), and generally acceptable customer service. Try the #22 avacado on wheat! It's AMAZING.

This is the gold standard for submarine sandwiches in Texas and has been for over 40 years. I recommend getting your sandwiches with their oil and vinegar dressing and NO mayo or mustard.

We love their salads! You can get any sandwich as a salad here. My favorite is the number 8 with avocado as a salad & their house vinaigrette! Of course, their sandwiches are great, too!

This is my 3rd time eating from this place. First of all let me just it's a breath of fresh air to walk in and be greeted with smiles and friendly attitudes. I felt bad because I was rushing to get dinner after my daughter's game and arrived 15 minutes before they closed. They were so welcoming! Their prices are very reasonable, they cut the meat in front of you, the subs are a very nice size. They have so many options of different chips, the cookies are freshly baked and so good. This is our go to now. I get the #20, the all the way with jalapenos and it is perfect everytime.

I try to go here at least every 2 weeks. Great prices on sandwiches and a good variety. Way cheaper then Subway and better quality of ingredients. Employees are always nice and fast service. The only downside is the parking lot has a lot of potholes that need to be filled. I realize this might be a landlord issue.

By far one of the best subs in DFW metroplex! You can not go wrong with "All stops" sub. Only one I order and it is great. Service is always warm and friendly and I will be visiting them definitely as I finish my degree over the next few years!

Stopped in for a #7 while in town for a tennis tournament. Finished a 6 inch and honestly wished I had ordered a 12 instead! AMAZING sandwiches, excellent customer service, and reasonable prices. It's a grand slam when you eat here. I promise you won't be disappointed!

One of the best New York style / eastcoast subs I've ever had in my life, and I'm 55. The service was pleasant, and the selection was straightforward. It's always a delight to visit while in Denton.

These really are superior sub sandwiches and I don't understand why the place has been open for 28 years yet still remains local to the Denton area and has not expanded to beat popular Subway sandwich chains! The prices are great. The meat is great. The deli cheese is great. The bread is great. I love eating here!

Best sandwich I’ve had in Texas. I ordered a “whole”, not knowing how big it would be. I think bigger than a foot long, half was plenty. Very cute inside, the employees were very polite and fast, too. And only $8 for that huge sandwich (which would be 2 sandwiches basically) and a bag of chips. Soooooo much better than Subway all around.

Been loving New York Sub- Way since my UNT student days. Took a friend who had never been. Guys behind the counter started joking and cutting-up. We paid up, sat down had two great subs, potatp salad, chips and on our way. Great service and fast. I keep going back.

Great food, stopped here cause my friend and I were hungry. Food is fresh and filling, great service. The young lady at the front was very courteous. This place has been open for almost 30 years, and is family run. You can tell they have pride in what they do. I'm not sure about the negative reviews, must have just been an off day.

Just come on in! Listen there’s a recipe for a great sub, and they got it. They took care of me in a good 3 minutes flat and they didn’t try to make it flashy. Good honest restaurant that needs more traffic. Fantastic food, insanely reasonable prices in todays world

The atmosphere is fantastic, I love The rustic style of the restaurant. The food is fabulous and very cost effective. The employees are also very kind and interesting to talk to.

A very quaint sub shop that bases it's atmosphere around the history of New York. Kind of an odd ball when considering it's location, but the food is excellent, the service is of the highest quality, and it's actually pretty cool to experience art and history that's culturally significant to another place while enjoying a sub. Prices are very fair. I was almost surprised to see a reasonable bill the first time I went. My only real complaint is entirely personal preference and that is that the Cajun style sub doesn't remind me of Cajun food in the slightest. It's still a great sub by itself, but it's very lightly seasoned and not spicy as most folks tend to associate with Cajun food. Overall, it's kind of hard to do better than New York Sub-Way when you're looking for a sub.

They have great prices and great sandwiches. Their half-size is plenty enough to fill me, so it keeps prices low. I love their soft sandwich bread. I love their cheesecake! They have friendly staff.

Not a spec of rude and the 'All Stops on the Subway' was incredibly good! Everything was fresh and it was nice to just sit with my friend and look out the window and relax a while. I used to be addicted to this place years ago but hadn't been there in ages so I need to remember to stop by more often. The screaming kid out of his chair and racing around their table and other tables put such a frown on his grandmother's face that I expected her to throttle him any minute. I wanted to. Mom was deaf to the little brat and the manager should have said something to them because he/brat ran everyone but one preacher and the two of us out the door prematurely. SOMEONE needs to regain control when parents won't. This has become a society of Rude. The sub was delicious but stopped eating and took the other half home because it was too noisy to talk.

Picked up my prescriptions for my pleurisy at CVS and I tell you this actually has an OG cheba hut type of vibe I like the food massive selection of chips the meats just make your mouth water they also have the cities favorite voodoo chips if you know the vibe then you know. Fast paced and oh my Lord those cookies. I did give a cookie to the homeless man outside of pizza hut on my way home will be going again when I feel the need for a homie type of spot chill vibes

I had the All Stops On The NYSW - ALL THE WAY. The Oregano and Oil & Vinegar is what really adds to it nicely. In hindsight, I should have also asked for mayo and mustard to be added. The bread tasted too plain for me, which detracted from it. Decent sub overall. Good price point.

The subs are good, but the service is terrible and the employees are rude. It’s very similar in most ways to New York Sub Hub at Eagle and Avenue C, however due to the rude attitude of the employees at NY Sub-Way, I recommend going to Sub Hub instead.

Eh. The young staff are slow and don't pay attention - one gave my change (cash) to the person in front of me who'd paid w a card. Then he tried to give my sandwich to the person behind me who ordered a salad (I swear I was pleasant!). The one on Avenue C puts waaay more stuff in their sandwiches.

Can't speak to the authenticity of the sub as I have never been to the NE, but the sandwich was good and $8.51 for a sandwich, chips and drink seems reasonable. Not some place I would travel far to eat at but if I'm in the area it's a good option.

Prices are a bit better than other sandwich shops…and the sandwiches are simply OK. I thought the bread was a little too dense. My jaw was sore after a sandwich. On my sending half, I took half of the bread off, and ate it as an open sandwich. Really…” better “ bread (from my perspective) would make it a better sandwich. And…maybe a little more meat. I, personally would rather go somewhere else.

VERY DISAPPOINTED....If you want and excellent salad, please go to the store over on Avenue C...I have ordered a salad from the University location several times and they always shorted us on the meats that go on the salad. After speaking with the manager and his not to worried about it attitude, sealed the fate for this resturant and any of my money.

The last time I visited the bread was dry and the employees were rude. I was the only customer and I was rushed through the ordering process. I typically won't eat at a place that doesn't have customers during peak dinner times, but I made an exception because my previous lunch experiences have been positive.

Hands down the worst customer experience I have ever had. I pulled into the parking lot at 9:45 to get my wife a sandwich. Keep in mind, that’s 15 minutes before they’re supposed to be closed. I pulled on the door and it’s locked. I see two employees still inside so I knock on the window and yell “Don’t close at 10?” The guy, who I’ve found out is named Dan, said he was closed and keeps shutting down the place. I knock again and yell “I’m here 15 minutes before you close, please open the doors.” This dude literally says “I don’t care, I’m closed” and flips me the bird. Look. I work in the service industry so I know how much of a pain it’s is to have someone show up at the last minute. But dang. Dan should be fired. Hands down. Never going back.

I’ve been going to New York Subway for years because it was the best sandwich shop in Denton but they have now lost my service. I got home, unwrapped my sandwich and what’s stuck to the bottom!? Someone’s nasty a** bandaid! I never write reviews but this could not be passed up. Yes I did post a picture to google and no I won’t be coming back. What a let down. This happened on 8/2/19 and I’m almost certain the manager is the one that made my sandwich that day.
