Tried 3 different Eggs Benedict, and they all taste delicious. The traditional one with bacon was the one I liked the most. Hash browns are really good too. Dessert-wise, the cheesecake is standard, but the crepe with Dulce de Leite is great!
I had a great experience at Jay Kays Café. The food was excellent—everything I tried was delicious, from the French toast and avocado toast to the eggs Benedict with pulled beef sandwich. The hot chocolate was also wonderful and comforting. The only thing that didn’t quite suit my taste was the Irish coffee, which was a bit too strong for me, but that comes down to personal preference more than anything else. The café has a lovely ambience as well, making it a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit and would happily return to try more from their menu.
There was a queue outside but the place is massive so we were seated within around 10 minutes. The food was stunning. Added bacon to my savoury croissant which took it to the next level. The caramelised onion on the sausage club was sensational. Would 100% recommend and come back again.
Absolutely no notes for Jay Kay’s, we had a fantastic experience here. Was in the mood for a traditional Irish breakfast but when I saw they had an Irish breakfast burrito I couldn’t resist. We also tried the eggs Benedict on brioche bread as well as the dolce de leche crepe. The burrito was my favorite but everything we had was a 10/10.
Fantastic breakfast place with a lot of savory and sweet options. The Irish breakfast burrito is probably one of the best breakfasts we had in Dublin. Never fully busy on week days, so it is easy to find a spot. That might be different on the weekend. The staff is nice and efficient. The prices are average for the area and card payments are possible.
There was a line as soon as we entered, some people were made to wait outside. But we did not wait ling to be seated around 5 minutes. Breakfast ends at 11:30. The food as great, especially the eggs Benedict. A coffee and a dish for breakfast will be around 20€ per person. The service was great all the people were very nice and friendly.
Delicious breakfast spot in Dublin. We had to queue but it moved very quickly as the place has a huge upstairs area. Really generous portions with the veggie breakfast burrito defeating me. The service was friendly and laid back and the food arrived quickly. Coffee was also nice although could have been a bit hotter. Will definitely be back next time we're in Dublin.
Ordered the full Irish Breakfast and it was delicious! Servers were extremely friendly and good about explaining the menu and providing options without upselling. Really fresh ingredients, everything tasted fantastic. Food came quickly, would definitely go back again and highly recommend!
Absolutely the best breakfast spot in Dublin! We stopped into Jay Kay’s Cafe and were blown away by how good everything was. The chicken sandwich with mozzarella and basil was perfectly balanced—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The eggs Benedict with bacon were just as amazing, with perfectly poached eggs and a rich, creamy hollandaise sauce. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly—making us feel right at home. You can tell they put care into every detail. If you’re looking for the best breakfast or brunch in Dublin, look no further than Jay Kay’s Cafe. We’ll definitely be coming back!
THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE CREPES!!! I can’t tell you how amazing these crêpes were and as someone with celiac it’s difficult to find. All the food was delicious. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice and an amazing vanilla latte. Don’t sleep on this place!! Make sure you check it out if you’re in Dublin and looking for a good place for brunch. Staff was very friendly as well and accommodating to allergies.
Came with a friend for breakfast. It was very busy but host found us a table upstairs, a nice table for two. Ordered their version of a full Irish Breakfast and it was fantastic! Really fresh, everything tasted delicious. They made really good flat whites as well. Gluten free options are available, the servers are very good at letting you know what options are available and what can be done for you. Washrooms are strangely hot though compared to the rest of the restaurant being comfortable. Food came quickly, would definitely go back again!
We really enjoyed our visit here. The sourdough bread topped with avocado, beetroot hummus and poached eggs was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The full Irish breakfast was equally delicious, served in just the right portion size. To top it off, the cappuccino came with lovely latte art — a small touch that made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Stopped here upon arrival to Dublin for an absolutely smashing Irish breakfast. We got seated without any issue on a Thursday morning, but tried to return on a Sunday and there were queues around the block, and they don't take bookings, so be warned. Superb food, coffee and service though.
There were 2 of us, and I had the eggs benedict while my boyfriend had the English breakfast. All the options were excellent. The atmosphere was phenomenal snd very aesthetic. A lot of people waited in line but we got there just before rush house. The waiters were very attentive to my gluten intolerance. Highly recommended. Excellent value for money and with good gluten-free options.
Hands down the best breakfast we had in Dublin -- and perhaps the best breakfast I've had in all my travels. The Eggs Royale was absolutely delicious. I also got a side of the veggie sausage which was also very good. The coffees were very well made (cappuccino and americano) and my husband loved his veggie breakfast. This is a must-have in Dublin.
This place was so worth it! There was a little line when we arrived that took roughly 15 minutes to wait in (again so worth it!) the staff were such nice people and worked hard to get us in to our table. Food was great, I got the Irish breakfast burrito- to which I recommend- and my friend got the soup of the day! I would definitely come back if in Dublin again, as I’m here on vacation from California! *forgot to take a photo of the burrito, but the matcha latte was just too beautiful!
The wait wasn’t long to get in, service was quick and the eggs Benedict with gluten free bread was absolutely delicious. I could have more then the two pieces 😂💖 my smash burger 🍔 of my husband looked delicious too and both the lemonade and orange juice were freshly prepared in the house which is what we love, not the store bought one 😒
Lovely food. Amazing and fast service. I went at 9:30 on a Sunday morning and it was very busy. I got seated fast and food came out very quickly as well. The only downside was that it was fairly noise-y. Now this more of a personal preference but I put in noise cancelling headphones and then it was perfect.
It's a big cafe that manages to nevertheless feel cozy. Very vegetarian friendly! They even do veggie sausages! I've had the smashed avocado and poached egg and it was great! The flaky seasalt, beetroot hummus and chili flakes plus 2 perfectly poached eggs made this a highly recommendable breakfast option! Staff is incredibly friendly, quick and works super well together.
Whoever the manager is, should get a raise. This man was running around all morning making sure everyone was seated in a timely manner—I’ve never seen someone work so hard and efficiently! There was a line out the door and he was able to sit us within 15 minutes which is unheard of in the states. Food was lovely and hit the spot! I also had a carrot ginger cold pressed juice which was delicious.
Lovely place, nice covered outdoor and indoor seating. The staff was great, food and coffee were lovely. Had a full Irish that was reasonably priced and delicious. Coffee and croissant were great!
The food here was great! We went twice because it was so good. Definitely worth the 20 min walk each way from where we were staying. We were seated right away, however, having someone come take our order was a bit slow but the food makes up for it. Would highly recommend
Wow… returned here 3 times during our holiday! Really good prices and amazing food, always a line out the door. Really worth a try.
Came by for brunch on Saturday 26th. There seemed to be quite a queue around the corner but it moved within minutes. Very well organised. The man seating us kindly gave us a table with a bit more space as we had our dogs with us, and brought a water bowl straight out. Food was brilliant, nice coffee and mimosas. My only regret was I became too full to finish. This was my second time here and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Dublin.
Been here a couple of times and the taste, quality and service have been excellent every time. The indoor seating is cozy and the outdoor seating is something you would enjoy on a sunny day. The granola bowl is very tasty, i tried the vegan breakfast, but the star is Shakshuka amazing flavor and the coffee is great too!!
Went here for a breakfast and it was fantastic. Great place, great atmosphere, excellent food and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend.
they do really good food and portions 👍🏼👍🏼 sometimes no queue at certain time
Went for a brunch and wasn't disappointed. Tasty food and generous sizes! The orange juice was amazing and served in a rather big glass. The Irish omelette was soft and juicy on the inside and not dry. We booked the table for 2 online and I would strongly suggest that you do the same if you don't want to wait because there was a queue when we got in. No downsides although I couldn't try all Dublin's brunches, this one was amazing!
Amazing Full Irish - absolutely delicious! Great ambiance and spacious café. We loved it
Excellent food, service and atmosphere Best half Irish (which was huge!) and fruit muesli bowl ive had. Adding the yoghurt is recommended Coffee is amazing too!
The Irish Breakfast, just WOW! Incredible delicious and comforting. The staff were nice and the food came out really fast.
Our first meal after landing in Dublin and we weren’t disappointed. The best gluten free crepes I’ve ever had, a great latte, and the cutest atmosphere.
Popped into Jay Kay’s Café and was so glad we did. We only popped in due to a recommendation from a friend. The staff were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Great coffee, proper portions, and everything was fresh and full of flavour. It’s got that lovely local vibe where you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. A relaxed spot to grab breakfast or lunch and recharge before heading back out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area or it’s definitely worth a travel to. Very close to centre
Stopped by Jay Kay’s cafe for a quick breakfast. Must say the service is prompt and very welcoming . Even though it was a busy day we were greeted well throughout. My husband ordered veggie breakfast and I ordered avocado toast with poached eggs. Both were good though I would order veggie bf next time 😂 Great coffee though. Will surely visit again
We arrived (luckily) before the long queue so we did not have to wait for a table for too long. I ordered iced latte on oat milk and Avocado & Poached Eggs sourdough with beetroot hummus for breakfast - it was lovely. Service top tier.
Stand out breakfast with something for everyone. They serve a traditional Irish breakfast but options for other eggs, omelettes, French toast, crepes are all plentiful, alongside coffee and tea drinks. Reasonable prices with meals that stand out against what hotels offer. Edited to say: We will compare their fresh pressed apple juice to every other apple juice for the rest of our lives. So far, nothing compares.
A hearty plate featuring sausages, rashers, black and white pudding, eggs, baked beans, grilled tomatoes, and toast or soda bread. Everything cooked to perfection with quality ingredients. The staffs are patient and friendly, accommodating special requests for picky eaters. Food arrives quickly, minimizing the wait
We were looking forward to the Irish breakfast and chose this place. The coffee, tea and juice were excellent. The best thing was that we felt very well looked after. That was very nice, we are very grateful.
Such a lovely cafe. Bit of a queue but we were seated in under 5 mins. Staff were so pleasant and accommodating. As for the food it was brilliant. We got a the club sandwich, Italian job and a smash burger. Everything was fantastic. Will definitely be back.
We spent a weekend in Dublin and went both here and the Lemon Jelly Café across the road for breakfast on different days. Both were good, but this edged ahead slightly. The food was good, the environment was very comfortable, and the service was on point.
The food here is always fantastic, well presented and delicious. I love the range of fresh juices on the menu as well. We found a good range of vegetarian options, but anything we enquired about could be modified within reason. This wasn’t necessary for us because of the range. The portions were good and food arrived quickly despite all the people seated. The business was very busy and there was a queue of about 15 minutes, but we had made a reservation and were seated immediately. I felt the restaurant was a small bit cramped for my taste, but nothing unreasonable, we were seated upstairs
There was a queue out the door at 10.30am so we had a feeling the food would be good. We had the Irish breakfast and it was honestly the nicest I have had, amazing coffee too. My husband and I ate every bit, except the tomato, we weren't mad about the basil on it. So that is literally the only constructive criticism we can give. The mushrooms were unreal! Will definitely be back.
Called in for breakfast on a Monday morning. Plenty of seats available. Seated promptly and orders taken in good time. We ordered a Breakfast Club and a Irish Breakfast Burrito. Food came out quickly and obviously freshly made. It was delicious! My wife really enjoyed her Breakfast Club. I devoured my Burrito. Full of breakfast items, decent amount of sauce, and really fresh and tasty. I'd have one right now if I could. Will be back next time we are in Dublin!
disappointed with the chicken burger—the coating wasn’t crispy enough, and the chicken itself wasn’t tender or juicy. The salad was just okay, nothing special. The staff were friendly, though.
Popular place for breakfast there was a long queue but the M D’ was super efficient and brisk at sorting who went where, when! The place was nicely laid out and had a good vibe, noisy but not overly so. Service efficient orders taken quite quickly. We went for the eggs Benedict and smashed Avocado with beetroot. It looked great on presentation and the flavours were great but oddly while the eggs were over cooked the food was not really as hot as we’d have preferred. Think there was a delay in the serving station. Coffee was very good and the food was very tasty. Good value for money and recommend you give it a try.
It is a good place for a fast brunch. Normally there are a lot of people and everything happens very fast (from ordering to paying the bill). The food and the service were amazing, however, the atmosphere is definitely not a chill one.
Full veggie breakfast was tiny. One egg, 8 potato wedges and one slice of toast, never received such a small portion before.
I came here for breakfast on Sunday. It was absolutely packed but I managed to get a table. I ordered the eggs on toast, and I asked for my eggs to be made scrambled. I also ordered a sausage and hashbrown on the side. Honestly the food wasn’t anything special. But the portions were good and the staff was very friendly. I would rate this place a 7/10 overall.
We had Sunday morning breakfast at about 10:15AM. There was no wait, and service was attentive. The food was fine, but really no better than the average diner. I had a veggie omelet and hash browns. The omelet was a bit greasier than I like, and the hash browns were a little triangular cake - think MacDonalds. Katy had eggs Florentine - again, OK, but certainly nothing special. The latte was good, as was the orange juice. We might have enjoyed it more if we had tried something like the shakshuka, or veggie burrito.
I visited this restaurant and was kindly shown to my table by a friendly waiter. The interior is nicely designed. I ordered the avocado toast. Unfortunately, the dish looked unappealing and did not live up to my expectations. UPDATE: Reaction Jay (October 6th, 2025): Hi H.J, you ordered avocado toast but asked for it to be done on brown sliced bread, this is not the way we do it normally but did as you asked. We serve thick sliced rustic toasted sourdough which works really well with the smashed avocado, sundried tomatoes, rocket and basil oil and looks completely different to what you asked for. Maybe you should visit us again and order it the way we serve it which would definitely be very appealing. Kind regards Jay’ My reaction (October 7th, 2025): Hello Jay, Thanks for your reaction. I just wanted to clarify that I chose brown sliced bread because it was listed as an option when ordering, so I didn’t realise it would make such a difference in how the dish was served or presented. I certainly didn’t intend to request anything unusual . I simply selected from the options provided. I found your response a bit disappointing, as it seems to suggest that the situation was my fault, whereas I was just ordering based on what was available. I appreciate your explanation about how the dish is normally served, but a more understanding tone would have been appreciated. Kind regards, H.J.
