Me and my wife had a great time at vals. We had tried their pasta and their pizza which was amazing. The staff were really friendly and the restaurant theme looked fabulous. 10/10 I recommend this place

Simple and delicious food. You can see they really know about food. Even local favorites like fish and chips were much better than what you get usually in Ireland. Service was great. Restaurant feels like family owned and operated which is a great feeling but it felt like some details are missing for 5 star. I would redesign the menu for one.

I visited this beautiful Pizzeria with my family yesterday and it was definitely one to remember. The children got a kids pizza and chips. Not only was it so tasty but it was such a big portion. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff were so friendly. I would highly recommend. I for sure will be back.

We’ve been going to Val’s Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria for the past couple of months with our friends and family, and it’s easily become one of our favorite spots in the city. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming the perfect mix of authentic Italian charm and Dublin friendliness. Owen is always fantastic, remembering our favorite pizza and drinks every time we visit. The staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel right at home. The food is simply delicious from the wood fired pizzas with that perfect crispy crust to the rich, homemade sauces and fresh pasta dishes. You can really taste the care and quality in every bite. It’s hard to beat a Margherita straight from their Italian made oven or a hearty Bolognese that tastes just like it came from a family kitchen in Naples. Highly recommend for anyone who loves real Italian food and great service. Val’s is a gem in Dublin! 🇮🇪🍕🇮🇹

Amazing food! Staying at a hotel nearby, and saw the 5 star reviews and had to try for ourselves. Waiter was very welcoming and very polite and couldn’t do enough to help. We ordered the filo prawn pastry starter to share and was incredible. Pasta and pizza was very very good too. Thank you Val’s

Brilliant spot for a lovely meal, my partner said the carbonara was some of the best pasta he has ever had. Our waiter was lovely, the pastas took longer than the pizza to come out but as it tasted delicious it was worth the wait.

Amazingly fresh dough, and flavorful Bolognese, coupled with pleasant and courteous staff. Loved the experience. Even the ambience is very soothing.

We popped in for some pizza and it was so good that we went there anytime we wanted pizza during our stay. Very accomodating when asking for changes.

Best pizza in town, Dario and Francesco are the best. Lovely atmosphere too. If you feel like pizza please come visit.

A very nice classy interior, a large open window front to a small street seating area. The beers were cold and the food was hot quick and good. If you want a nice Italian meal, great calzone! This is the place to go and for a take out orders. Right near the Premier Inn.

Delicious food! 🩵 Pizza margarita was very good and the spaghetti carbonara were amazing! The staff was friendly and I appreciate free water :) Overall the experience and atmosphere was very pleasant!

Very nice place, the owner is incredibly friendly and the service really close and attentive. Pizzas are nice, they work with fresh ingredients and you can notice that, the nduja was slightly spicy and the marinara very nice as well. The only thing I would like to see is a wider range of pizzas, the rest was all fine.

I ordered fish and chips in this Italian restaurant, sounds crazy but it’s so far so good.

I went for my friends birthday. The pizza was pretty big and tasted really nice. The prices for the meals were pretty reasonable the drinks and sides were a tiny bit pricey but it didn't take away from the experience. The staff was very nice and welcoming, they brought out the cake and sang happy birthday. Overall It made the experience really nice too. Would recommend.

We came here whilst visiting Ireland, a nice family run Italian, staff are friendly! Food was nice! Carbonara was a little bland but good portion size and presented well! Overall good value for money, especially being near temple bar! Weirdly we were the only ones in here on a Sunday night at 7.30pm, normally this would put you off a restaurant but we did not leave disappointed, if you want some good food away from the noise and hustle and bustle of the temple bar, give this place a try! I didn't try the pizzas but they look great!

Another Italian restaurant without Italian music. Whole experience was very average, not bad, not impressive. Carbonara would be much nicer with less black pepper. Tiramisu was actually quite good, maybe too big for 1 person, with too much cream. But still nice. Would I go back? Probably not, and if so, to try pizza this time.

Service was very good. But food was rather mediocre. Attaching the photo of focaccia served there 🫠 just a pizza base nicely burned, for some reasons it’s called focaccia there.

Food was very nice just the whole atmosphere wasn’t the greatest. The door was kept open so cold kept coming in. Our order was forgotten and had to re order but apart from that it’s still a nice place.

The food was tasty and the menu has a great variety of options. We ordered pizza and pasta, and both were very good. However, the overall experience wasn’t as good because the place was overbooked. We had to wait over 45 minutes to be seated, then another long wait to order, and over 45 minutes more for our pizza and pasta to arrive. The staff were friendly, and we understand that it was Valentine’s Day and the restaurant was quite busy. However, the booking management was not good at all. The restaurant was clearly overbooked, with customers queuing outside (all of them had reservations), staff overwhelmed with the number of tables, several wrong orders, and food taking a long time to arrive. Maybe on a quieter day the experience would be different, but unfortunately, that wasn’t our case.

We had booked a table in advance, but still had to wait when we arrived, which wasn’t a great start to the evening — especially on Valentine’s night. Once seated, we were given menus and then left waiting for around 25 minutes before anyone came over. In the end, we actually had to ask to be served. The delay really took away from what should have been a relaxed meal. At the end of the night, paying was just as frustrating. I went up to the counter and waited about 20 minutes before someone finally asked what I needed. When the bill arrived, it was incorrect, with three extra items added that we never ordered. It was clear the restaurant had been overbooked for Valentine’s Day, with far too many tables squeezed in. This felt like a management issue rather than a staff one — the workers were clearly run off their feet and doing their best under difficult circumstances. Overall, it was a disappointing experience due to poor organisation and long waits throughout the evening.

the food had literally no taste. don’t get fooled by google score. service was nice, but i have never tasted an itallian food tastes like anything. not recommended

I made a booking for 7.30pm. Upon arrival, the line was out the door. Never in my years of dining experience have I seen a restaurant so greedily overbooked. After waiting 1 hour in the rain and cold, we were hurried to a table and then forgotten about for over an hour. We received our food 2 hours after being seated. Wrong mains were brought out, and we still hadn’t received our drinks. Management was a joke, two servers were left to seat and serve a restaurant with over 30 tables. Plenty of better Italian restaurants in Dublin. Will never be back.

We waited around 2 hours for food that never arrived, including my main. We tried getting the attention of servers which did not work, and ended up leaving without eating. It is not the fault of the servers, our one was very apologetic and gave us a discount. It is the fault of management for not having more people on. Everyone around us in our section experienced similar situations. Wont be coming back.

Food quality wasn't good. If I go to a restaurant and order a carbonara, I expect to have a nice pasta and nice guanciale properly cooked, it looked like if my brother did the cooking one Friday evening after work. Tourist trap.

Food was disappointing. The calamari tasted like it was frozen and the bruschetta was 3 pieces of soggy toast with bland tomatoes and the tiniest little bit of burrata. We waited an hour for our pizza to the point that we ended up just cancelling it and leaving. Servers were lovely but the management of the establishment is clearly lacking. Despite also making a reservation, we had to wait 30mins in the cold to be seated. For the price you’re paying as well, we are definitely not coming back.

Horrible experience. I had a booking for 7.30pm. Upon arriving at 7.25pm, the line stretched out the door with over 12 groups of people waiting to be seated, all with bookings. After waiting for over an hour, we were finally seated and then proceeded to be ignored by several servers. One girl looked through me like I was a ghost. 1 hour after being seated, we were offered some food. Unfortunately, it wasn't what we ordered. It took another 30 minutes to bring out the correct pasta dish. We then got our drinks, one of which was served in a used, dirty cup. For some reason, we decided to get dessert. Maybe it's because we were so hungry after waiting 2.5 hours and we weren't thinking clearly. Two tiramisu were ordered. We received two Twinkies with cream on top for a grand total of 18 euro. Tiramis-who? When it came to getting our bill (only 20 minutes after asking - what an improvement!), we were assured that the 20 euro deposit that we paid for our booking was taken off the bill; however it wasn't. We then had to wait at the front in another queue to ask to get it refunded. A very cheap, nasty trick.

Extremely Disappointing Valentine’s Experience We booked this restaurant for Valentine’s Day with high expectations, especially as we had travelled all the way from Nottingham, England to Dublin to celebrate. Unfortunately, the entire evening was a huge letdown. Our table was booked for 8:15pm, yet we were left standing in a queue until almost 9pm. There was no proper communication or explanation for the delay, just more waiting. Once we were finally seated, things only got worse. We then had to wait over 60 minutes for our food to arrive. By the time it came, we were already exhausted and frustrated. Ironically, it took us less time to eat the meal than it did to wait for it. The whole experience was dominated by delays rather than enjoyment. To make matters worse, there was very little apology or acknowledgement of how badly the evening had been handled. Despite the long waits and poor organisation, we were still expected to pay full price for everything. For what was meant to be a special Valentine’s celebration, this was incredibly disappointing. After travelling such a long distance and looking forward to this evening, we left feeling frustrated and undervalued as customers. I would not recommend this place for any special occasion unless serious improvements are made in organisation, customer service, and respect for reservations. Such a shame, and honestly felt so awful for the workers who were clearly being overworked and understaffed, so it is clearly no fault of their but of the management of the establishment whom hadn’t handled the preparation for this night correctly.

I had an 8.30 booking for this restaurant last night. We arrived to find a massive que outside. Everyone in the que had bookings. After 10 minutes of no communication from the staff I went in to see what was going on. The manager said we just let people sit and enjoy their food then just walked off. She didn't even admit to being the manager and didn't seem bothered. Another staff member confirmed that the first lady was the manager and said it would be at least an hour before we got a table. We left then. They had way overbooked. I can't comment on the food but I won't be returning!

We went to have a nice dinner to enjoy the holiday season. Unfortunately we had a bad experience in one of our dishes where we found a piece of plastic. I personally didn't want to make a big deal about, we didn't even request anything as an "apology" However, the least I expected was the manager to come and apologise or to say something. Despite the other pizza was good, this really killed the mood and we felt disappointed that nothing was said. I dunno if I would give it a try again. But we were really disappointed as local customers.

Really disappointing experience. We had a confirmed reservation and had paid a booking deposit in advance, but when we arrived there was a queue of around 30 people outside — all of whom also had reservations. The restaurant itself was already full with people eating, and the queue didn’t move at all during the 35 minutes we waited. It was clear there was no system in place to honour booking times. What made things worse was the staff’s handling of the situation. While we were waiting outside, staff inside were waving at people through the window to leave and shaking their heads rather than coming out to explain anything. We tried calling the restaurant and they answered the phone but ignored us speaking before eventually putting the phone on engaged. In the end we had to leave without being seated despite having a booking and paying a deposit, along with many others in the same situation. Completely unacceptable organisation and customer service. If you’re going to take deposits and reservations, you need to actually manage them properly.

We waited almost an hour for our food and the service was very poor. No one was welcoming or seating guests, leaving people standing at the narrow entrance. It took 10 minutes to be seated, another 10 to get menus, and we had to ask to place our order. The only positive was a Spanish waiter who was attentive and apologised several times. The food was good but overpriced for what it is, and the restaurant’s organization was a mess. Nearly an hour wait for food and even nearby tables waited ages for the bill. Overall, a stressful and disappointing experience despite decent food.

Can’t even comment on the food as we never made it inside. Paid a €20 deposit and arrived 30 mins before our booked time to see a line that started from the inside and went the whole way out past the restaurant of people with bookings who couldn’t get in. Waited for over 30 mins and the line didn’t even move. Disgraceful and greedily overbooked. Also from waiting in the line we saw food being thrown on people’s tables inside which looked to me like frozen chicken wings, so we didn’t seem to miss out on much. AVOID, no point in even booking a table as they can’t even manage that!!

Do not pay a deposit for a reservation! We showed up with a reservation, sat at a dirty table for 15 minutes without menus or service of any kind. Watched the wait staff pay attention only to the front of the restaurant and ultimately walked out with no food and lost 20 euros on their silly deposit policy.

Arrived on valentines night with a booking that we had for 2 weeks to be told at the door it is a huge wait and there is a huge delay. I was told people were waiting since 7 and our booking was at 8. People were waiting 1 hour to even be seated even tho everyone had a booking. It’s absolutely disgraceful we had to get a child minded and drove 40 mins to the restaurant to be told this at the door. The girls blamed the system for over booking and they had no control over it.
