Opinions de House of Dumplings Dublin
Seriously superior dumplings, from the soup dumplings (pork XLB) and the potstickers and the steamed dumplings. Szechuan soup is spicy and amazing. Delicious tea, cucumber salad was super crunchy, and wonton soup the best I've had in a long while. And the bunny and pig shaped dessert dumplings --not to mention the chocolate XLB-- were kid-pleasers and super yummy too! Caring and friendly service, beautiful dishes, ambience is otherwise lacking but with the amazing food and nice people who cares about ambience! Reasonable prices too.
My wife and I are food critic, so happy that we discovered this restaurant a week ago, and can't wait to go back. I hardly give 5 starts to any restaurant, especially Chinese restaurant, this one I did. Reasons: 1) Xiao long bao cook perfectly, full of stew/soap inside. 2) All food is not greasy 3) All food is not overpowered with salt. 4) salad is super fresh. 5) Panfried foods are crispy 6) Dough of all dumplings, potstickers and others are not too thick or chewy. 7) All (I mean ALL) dishes are delicious 8) prices are reasonable. 9) Restaurant is small, simple and cute, Interior is clean, no funny posters on the wall (do prefer some decorations/art. I was sitting on a chair facing the wall, nothing to stare at except my beautiful wife) How can I not give this restaurant 5 stars.
Everything is made fresh and it tastes that way. Fresh noodles in the soups are amazing. The pork bun texture is crispy, meaty, soupy, and chewy all in one. The owner even gave us a complimentary cucumber salad during our meal. Felt like a cozy cafe especially on the rainy afternoon we visited. We will definitely be back.
Excellent and Authentic. Owner served us and was very helpful and courteous. Food was delicious. Dan Dan Noodles, Beijing Noodles, Black Pepper Dumplings, Squash and Egg Dumplings, and Demon Wings. Onion pancakes were sublime.
Saw them making dumplings through the window when walking by & looked delicious. So thought I’d try. Grabbed the dumplings - squash & shrimp - & the Dan Dan to go. Both were delicious with great flavors. Newly remodeled. Definitely will return to try other interesting dishes!
Small shop with SUCH BIG flavor! My husband and I are vegetarian and the chef was so accommodating, even gave us hot and sour soup to warm us from the chilly weather. Will DEFINITELY be returning to get our Chinese food fix in soon!
Ordered take out for an office lunch and it was an overall great experience! We ordered a mix of soup, veggies, dumplings, and noodles and everything was amazing! They also included a couple of bonus items in our bags, a cucumber salad and an extra soup which was really nice and also delicious!! 10/10 recommend and will definitely be back!! 😊
The people that run the place are very nice and very efficient. I don't know how they execute so many dishes. I can't claim to know what authentic regional Chinese food is like but I was happily surprised at the variety of vegetation on the menu. The open kitchen and really clean bathroom are little touches that are appreciated! We did take-out for the first time (other times went in person to have the soups). Minor watch-out - the kids thought that one of the sauces was soy sauce and poured it on their food to discover it was vinegar (they still ate it but just FYI).
We used to love the old spot here called Panda Dumpling and were very sad when it shut down. We are now very happy to see it coming back with a different name. Not entirely sure if it's the same owners or not, but it doesn't matter, because it's amazing! We had pork soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and a beef noodle soup. All three were very good and hit the spot. Service was also great, we got a complimentary cucumber salad that was also delicious.
The whole time I was here dumplings were being actively made. All the variations of dumplings we had were solid, as well as the custard buns!
The best dumplings in town. We got strong recommendations from our friends and tried it with kids. Everyone was so happy. They are hand-made dumplings and everything is so fresh and delicious. We also love the truffle rice so much!! The service is so great that we cannot wait to come back here. Thank you!
Best local dumplings. Great value and upscale atmosphere. Noodles, appetizers all fresh.
Wow!! Amazingly good. Authentic taste with great quality food. We thanked the chefs who made the dumplings through the kitchen window. Everyone was so nice, too. Yum. Will recommend and return.
Randomly found this place on Google and was happily blown away. Beef noodle soup is the best in the bay. Wontons are delicate and generous with a delicious meat filling. We didn’t get to try the soup dumplings so we’ll be back. The love is evident in the food
Some of the best soup dumplings I’ve ever had - way better than the over-hyped DTF. Pork XLB & the boiled shrimp dumplings were our favorites. Really great value and service as well.
This was my first time at this restaurant, and it truly feels like a hidden gem in the San Carlos area. The atmosphere is cozy, with the charm of a small family-run business. The food is absolutely delicious, and the owner, Leon, is such a kind gentleman who takes pride in providing both high-quality dishes and service.I ordered the soybean noodle (zha jiang mian), and it was outstanding—full of flavor and very satisfying. I also noticed they have a variety of dumplings on the menu, which I’ve heard are quite popular, so I’m looking forward to trying those next time. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends. Highly recommended!
This place is fantastic. Hot sour soup to die for shrimp and chive dumplings, cucumber salad. Everything that we had tonight and every time we’ve come here it’s been really really good. You can’t go wrong ordering anything up the menu. The people are fantastic. It’s got a great atmosphere and ambience
Wow - I never leave reviews but I must for this place. Came here with my parents and kids. All three generations thoroughly impressed. The XLB and pan fried buns are top notch. Our usually picky kiddo was eating them hand over fist. The service is excellent and all the staff so welcoming. We’ll be back for sure!
I found this restaurant after visiting the area, and I was glad I found it. My dining experience here far exceeded my expectations from the moment I arrived. The staff greeting was warm, and my host gave excellent recommendations for the meal. I have not had chicken satay prepared this way before, but their version was mouthwatering and delicious. The sugar pea leaf left me delightfully satisfied that there is something other than kale that is healthy and pairs perfectly with my chicken corn dumplings. I wish this place were closer to where I live because I would visit at least once a week.
The food is sooooo good. I was in the mood for some high quality food and saw the reviews - this place did not disappoint. I had wonton soup- the wontons were so soft and tender, the broth was yummy and you could tell they used fresh ginger. There were fresh greens floating around in there too. So so so good! I also had onion pancakes - they were crispy and full of onion flavor. Lastly I had custard dumplings - so cute and yummy! It was such a great experience.
I’ve lived in San Carlos my whole life but moved away and haven’t been back for a few years - was looking on Google for restaurants and found this place with 4.9 stars and that entirely makes sense. Not sure why the average isn’t 5 stars, because wow the food is incredible! The staff is so kind too and service is fast! Will absolutely be coming back every time I’m in town :) Walnut shrimp, XLB, soup and not pictured: scallion pancakes (delish), Dan Dan noodles (also delish) & pork buns!
Was here last Sunday with my husband. The food was so yummy, I was craving a beef noodle soup and they delivered. Definitely recommend the soup as an entree or to share. The cucumber salad was also delicious and i’m still thinking about the chocolate dumplings, the best dessert. Overall this restaurant was very clean and the service was great and the food was excellent.
This place is worth visiting. Everything was delicious. Just a heads up — don’t rush, or you might burn yourself! The food is served piping hot!
Definitely the best dumplings I've had. Clearly handmade and family owned. I highly recommend for anyone who is in the area. Decent amount of street parking. Not too busy in off hours either.
What a lovely spot with delicious food!!! All the dumplings were delicious but our favorite was the beef noodle soup. Amazing service as well!
The food is SO good! We ordered the hot & sour soup which was just $8.95 and enough for a family! The cucumber salad has the best flavor and is so fresh and crisp! We also ordered the crispy tofu and 10 pieces of beef & onion dumplings! This is going to be my favorite go to spot in San Carlos! This is a clean cozy restaurant AND Phoenix, the best wait staff, is very attentive and helpful! I’ve been at this restaurant at least 4 times now and it is consistently good every time!! Come and give it a try, I know you’ll enjoy the fresh and tasteful food here!!!
Amazing food. And have you seen the prices? $14 for TEN huge flavorful dumplings? We've accidentally found the place, and we'll be frequent guests. The cucumber salad is great, and the fish dumplings are fantastic!
Our friend was craving dumplings so he showed us this place. It is a quaint neighborhood shop meaning you need to find parking. We ordered pork XLB dumplings, beef pepper dumplings, potstickers, dan dan noodles and angel wings. There is a glass view in the next room to see a lady making dumplings while we waited. We were served tea in a cute dispenser. The food was nice and hot. Great textures and flavor. We even got a complimentary fried okra which was a hit at our table. Service was nice and efficient.
I loved the old Panda dumpling in this spot and was glad it was another dumpling restaurant. Authentic taste, I had the beef noodle soup and crab XLB. The custard buns are supercute. They also sell frozen dumplings to cook at home. The staff is very attentive and love that you can see them make dumplings in the kitchen. It's definitely a new neighborhood gem.
A great hidden gem ! Came in expecting the same ol thing as every other overpriced dumpling restaurant but was completely taken by surprise as to how tasty all the food was. Tried the beef soup huge portion very tasty brot had to take some home because I got stuffed with their delicious dumplings. Friend ordered the angel wings and they were to die for. Gonna have to try their devil wings next. Prices were reasonable I felt we ordered a ton of food 4 sets of dumplings, wings, soup and desert but the bill was less than we spend at a crappy Denny's. Will be coming back over and over.
So delicious! The pan-fried buns are just juicy and perfect when you bite into them, and they have this wonderful crispiness on the bottom, creating a delicious contrast in texture and flavor that's just amazing.

Great spot with flavorful food. Really enjoyed beef noodle soup, black pepper beef dumplings. Super cute dessert!

Wow! I’m so happy Dumpling & Dough is here! It was amazing and exactly what I needed. This is LEGIT Authentic food. My husband and I were looking for a casual dinner on Sunday, and so many places were packed because of Valentine’s Day. We came here since there was no wait, and it turned out to be such a special treat. The food was incredible. We ordered the pot sticker dumplings, soup dumplings, and beef noodle soup — everything was delicious. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you to the staff!!
Very solid meal, surprisingly refined service for a small shop. Szechuan noodle soup was extremely good! Smashed Cucumber Salad, solid! Seasoning was very well balanced. Two remaining dishes that were great, but not standouts like the Szechuan Soup. Beef & corn steamed dumplings were juicy and flavorful. Pork XLB was well executed as well. The server was attentive, provided good recommendations, brought a free side dish of well executed cucumber salad to round out the meal as well & boxed leftovers. Pleasantly surprised by that level of service for a casual weeknights dumpling spot.
Stumbled upon this place and it’s one of my new favorites!!! Would highly recommend others to give this place a try! Food: My friend and I ordered the soy bean paste noodles, beef noodle soup, crab soup dumplings, and pork dumplings. All of which were priced fairly for the portions. More importantly, they tasted great! I personally enjoyed the dumplings and soy bean paste noodles as some of my favorites. The crab soup dumplings were also great as a perfect mesh of exploding flavors. Service: Everyone at the restaurant was extremely kind and helpful. Our server in particular, Phoenix, was absolutely amazing! Phoenix was super attentive and kind in providing the best quality service; providing great recommendations, answering questions, and bringing us our food. Atmosphere: The restaurant isn’t as large and may feel crowded when really busy. The design felt modern and sleek from the seating to plating of food. An extra plus were the multiple windows to watch chefs cook the food and make the fresh, handmade dough. I am definitely coming back for the delicious, reasonably priced food, but also for the amazing service.
Stopped in today on a whim to grab lunch to go. Super clean & bright space. Really friendly gentlemen greeted me and I asked for suggestions for dumplings. I ordered both the black pepper beef dumpling, and shrimp and chive dumpling, per his suggestion… Home run on both. And also was fortunate to try the cucumber salad…great! I can easily see ordering these dumplings as an appetizer for a dinner party in the future. Great job Dumpling & Dough!
Very unusual and delicious dumplings. I don’t live in the bay so I was strangely close to the two tables on either side. The service was OK, but they seemed to lose track of us for a short time. But the flavours were very good and the portions large.

Everything is freshly made & it comes thru in the taste. Really enjoyed the tofu/avocado salad, which is something not offered at any other Asian restaurant. The XLB came in a convenient wrapper that makes it easy to slurp up the juices. You can also watch your meal being prepared on site as well.
Solid dumpling spot. The quality is there and you can tell everything is homemade. We got the walnut prawns $19, dan dan noodles $14, szechuan noodle soup $15, shrimp and chive dumplings $14, pork buns sjb $15, Beijing pot stickers $11, pork xlb $11. It was nice of them to give us complimentary cucumber salad. The best item was probably the pork bun sjb. Rest were decent. Noodles are skippable. Was expecting the typical honey walnut prawns but it's just prawns with mayo, lettuce, and walnuts, no batter. Healthier I guess. Lol. Their hot sauce was way too salty and not spicy. Reasonable portions and prices. Service was fine. Small restaurant, but no wait during dinner time on a Friday. Overall, not bad but I've definitely had better
Dumplings were great! Beef noodle soup was flavourful but the broth was quite salty might I say. The szechuan spicy wonton soup was the best thing we got, hands down. 10/10 yummy in my tummy, and the mala spice feels great in the mouth. Waiter dude was really nice and food came pretty quick. Thanks guys.

Won't be going here again. I was motivated by the high review numbers. I ordered 4 items and included 2 types of buns. None were appetizing. Veggie rolls were very bland. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes past pick up time. Hard pass.
Food was inauthentic. Cucumber salad was very lightly seasoned and had red cabbage (???). Scallion oil noodles were about as bad as Panda Express if not worse. Zero additional seasoning besides soy sauce. XLB was passable except the tin foil had somehow flaked off and stuck to the dumpling skin. Shrimp dumplings were somewhat undercooked. No idea how this had 4.8 average.
Vibe- 3/5 . small but modern and clean. Good for solo dining or small groups 2-4 / families. Food- 2/5 based only on the beef noodles soup Soup was salty ( a bit oily, taste of soy sauce, no complexity in the flavor profile, for $15.95, 75% of the volume is noodles, 20% soup , noodles texture no bounce, not much different than ones bought in Asian grocery stores ). The beef was super thinly sliced, more like shaved beef - didn’t amount to more than 2 or 3 oz of beef. There were some Chinese greens. Maybe Chinese spinach. Service- 4/5 my server was a nice non Asian male- friendly, attentive. He noticed I stopped eating but the bowl of noodles soup still almost full, and asked if everything was alright. I nodded, trying to keep my criticism to myself and not make a big deal). The fact he asked was a good gesture. I appreciated that. Final thought- this a good spot in downtown San Carlos for solo dining if you’re in the mood for simple northern style Chinese food. Not sure if I will return but if I do, definitely will skip the beef noodles soup.
The food is not authentic. XLB and dumplings have very thick dough and feel essentially store bought. Dan Dan noodles had too much vinegar, and chicken felt not fresh. Price was very over the top.
