Had their "The Hustle" sandwich and it was amazing! The bread was unique, fluffy on the inside but crunchy on the outside. One of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. Also we got the sausage egg biscuit. The eggs were creamy and the biscuit was perfectly flakey. The vanilla latte was perfect. The honey latte was a little light on the honey, but overall espresso was very smooth. Awesome place! Definitely will be coming back!

Coffee and matcha was good, but nothing extraordinary. Vibes were good and the environment was nice :D

Hard to find a spot where the coffee and the breakfast food is tops, and this place has it. It's adorable, small and cozy, and they have a lot of personality in their food and drinks. A great spot if you want to eat and sit or grab and go!

Been consistently going here since they opened in 2023 and it's been fun watching their progress. The in-house roasted beans have come a long way since the first bag I bought - I love how you can now buy single origin (African beans are my favorite), and the roast is light so you can taste great coffee bean flavor when you brew. I would probably go more often than I do know if the drinks were slightly less expensive. There seems to always be a seasonal drink menu now, and it's fun trying both what's on-paper available and asking to mix-and-match the flavors for a different style of beverage since the flavors come from a homemade syrup. It's a little too bad that's how they're made because if you want less sweet, you get less flavor. There's seating inside and out, but the space is a bit small for me to feel okay with taking up a table/chair for an extended time (say for working remotely).

Such a chill vibe & just a ☀️ place to hang out. Feels very homey. Their vanilla latte is the best I've had, not too sweet. Tried the sausage, egg & cheese today, delicious! It comes on this flaky biscuit and totally hits the spot. Nice outdoor seating area (in the sun or shade, your pick). Will be back with my laptop! 💯

Went to their soft opening and loved their energy, atmosphere, service, and coffee! There was no menu but they could make most coffee orders so it wasn’t a big problem, especially since it’s a soft opening. We talked to the owners and they were so open to feedback, very friendly, and explained all of the goodies they’ll offer once they fully open. We’re so excited!! My husband I both got iced vanilla lattes and they were PERFECT! Just the right amount of sweetness. Support a LOCAL coffee shop and go here!

Great local coffee spot! There isn't tons of seating, so if you're looking for a place to hang out for a few hours, this might not be the right spot for you. But the ambience is great and location is convenient.

I’ve been coming to Groovy Goose since the day they first opened, and they never cease to amaze me. Even with two Starbucks nearby, it’s clear why this shop continues to thrive—it’s all about the vibes, the lovely people, and the incredible quality of the coffee. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted by a friendly cashier, and the baristas are so kind; they always take a moment to ask how my day is going, even when they’re slammed. Most importantly, the consistency is unmatched. My order has never been wrong, and it tastes exactly the same every single time. My absolute go-tos: The Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Croissant: The portion size is perfect and very satisfying. Jam & Butter Toast: Never disappoints and is surprisingly filling! Caramel Iced Latte with Oat Milk: As someone who can't have dairy, I appreciate that this is always consistent and delicious. Vanilla Bean Rose Latte (Iced): This is a seasonal must-try! It’s so good I’ve actually gone back two days in a row just to get it.

This a gem for the locals in San Carlos. If I lived here it would be my coffee shop. Clean professional atmosphere with a high end vibration. I ordered a cortado with whole milk and a single shot. The espresso was pulled perfectly and the foam was on point. My drink had a lotus design on the pour. The milk was steamed to perfect sweetness and the coffee was sweet and delicious. The mark of a good coffee shop is how they can make a cappuccino style drink. I'm blown away and would recommend any coffee drinker to come here especially if you're into a quality cup. Thanks to the baristas for running this spot so well

Coffee was excellent here , the food didn’t really make an impression on me . The pesto egg biscuit even though the inside was good the bread itself was terrible. It crumbled apart while eating not the best when eating and driving . Would come back to try more drinks

I tried the cappuccino and it was very enjoyable and flavorful. They have optifions like lavender or hazelnut to add to your coffee, and the menu includes smoothies and some food items. Overall is a good place to get some coffee.

Not to mention they have a reward system and after just a few weeks, I received $5 off of my purchase today-- can't beat that! I've had iced lattes, hot lattes, and cold brew. The cold brew is a slightly lighter roast than I usually prefer but everyone has different tastes and it was still very good! They use my favorite oat milk from Califia. I've tried the scones, the butter croissant, the gluten free banana muffin, and the prosciutto sandwich on a delicious baguette. All so good!! The owners are San Carlos locals, and they're such great people! The entire staff is lovely, welcoming and helpful. Skip the lame chains and check them out for sure! Yay! A local cafe that offers excellent espresso drinks in a very cute indoor/outdoor setting. The breakfast sandwich here was also delicious and tasted like a fancy, elevated version of a McDonald's breakfast biscuit.

Simple breakfast sandwich that was tasty and a nice flat white. Simple space that is small but has both indoor and outdoor seating options. High ceilings that make the space feel more open. And there’s a big garage door that’s open between the inside and outside and lets in a nice cool breeze.

Such a cute spot! With an incredible holiday special - the cardamom-white mocha. Got it with almond milk in a big sunny mug and it was so creamy and lightly sweet and cardamom. Was tempted to get another one but didn’t want to get too buzzed, but already wanting it again this week! They’ve got a hidden little outdoor table in the back that’s even quieter than the one on the street, highly recommend. 5 stars!!!!

Parents rejoice - this place has toys for toddlers! My toddler happily sat on the floor playing with the toys while I got to drink my coffee in peace. Really, thank you, to the people running this place. There are few coffee shops this kid friendly. Will come again!

Had a cortado. The ratio of espresso and steamed milk is correct and the fact that there was barely any foam was great.

The coffee is a little expensive for the limited amount of seating they have. Even for drinking inside the store, they give you to go cup, which sadly doesn’t let you enjoy the latte art etc.

I was very glad when the cafeteria opened, as I don’t like chain coffee shop and now I can just buy good coffee from local shop instead of 15 mins driving to Blue bottle. I always go with latte, and it is okay ish - it is definitely better than chain coffee but in my mind not up to other boutique cafes like blue bottle/verve, and not even to latte I made at home sometimes (and I don’t have an expensive Lamarzoco machine). Also as others pointed out, it is too milky with large cups. But the price is the same as the other boutique cafes! I was surprised when I first noticed the price: close to $8 for a grande latte? Anyways, still happy that we have a nice local coffee shop, but please keep the price reasonable for locals to support happily.

While I’d like to support local, independent coffee shops, I can’t help but feel taken advantage of when I come here.

Such a cute place! Been waiting fora mom-and-pop coffee shop to open up in downtown. I went to the soft opening today. Great service, the cashier was super friendly. Unfortunately my espresso was sour, I think the shots sat for too long on the counter. The drink was around $10 and was not really worth the price. Also, they don’t have a menu yet which seems strange for a place thats about to open. I’ll try again in a few months when they get their recipes settled. Atmosphere and service wise, its a great place. Hope the coffee gets better!

I really wanted to love this place. The goose with the glasses was so cute. Three of us ordered egg/sausage/biscuit or egg/bacon/biscuit. The biscuit part was absolutely delicious, but all theee had cold eggs. We also tried the cinnamon roll, which ended up being much smaller than the one in the case, and it was OK.

Nice place with great vibes , need to maintain consistency in Doing cortado’s , I drink 3-4 times a week and I barley get a good one. All other drinks and food are great and my teen girls love it.

Coffee shop that can’t master cappuccino and steaming milk??? I’m very frustrated with this place! Why, why do you boil the milk!??!! Why am I waiting for my coffee to cool down for 15 minutes and can’t hold the cup without two sleeves? Once this place opened I thought that barista is just starting out and not trained enough, it’s been several months and the same barista still boiling the heck out this poor milk. Please, learn to steam the milk otherwise I would continue to drive extra 10 minutes to other coffee shops for a decent cup.

I’ve been a loyal customer at GroovyGoose for some time now, but I was very disappointed with the customer service I experienced last week. I ordered a double shot of espresso on ice and went to the bar to add a splash of half and half, as I usually do. When I noticed the half and half container was empty, I asked the employee who rang up my order if there was any more available. Instead of simply assisting, he responded rudely by saying that next time I would need to be charged for a latte. I explained that I didn’t want a latte, and that I specifically ordered a double shot because I find lattes too milky, especially the breve ones you serve. I was genuinely upset by the tone and implication of his comment, and I ended up leaving without adding anything to my drink. At $6, a small splash of half and half shouldn’t be an issue, and certainly not something to cause conflict over! On top of that, my mom’s latte was also overly milky and not up to the usual standard. I hope this feedback helps your team better understand how to speak to regular customers and maintain a welcoming environment.

Having people in the wrong seats it’s always a devastating blow for small entrepreneurs. I’ve been here so many times but their sense of urgency to get people out. The door is almost 0 out of a croissant lady is just standing in the front counter, not doing anything and says it’s coming. I said it’s a croissant they have to get it from the back. She could’ve easily just gone over and got me a croissant and I would’ve went. I guess that’s why McDonald’s in the larger chains really focus on this In-N-Out just did a big survey on this where they had drones and getting clients out within 13 seconds. I love to see local small businesses in Oakland, and I can only imagine that the owner will read this and take massive action to try and fix this all the best to this business I’ll wait anymore
