West Park Bistro

This is my favorite dining place in San Carlos. The food here will always surprise us by its nice flavor and complexity with reasonable price. There are times that the dish is serving a bit late, but when you taste the food, you realize it's worth the wait. I highly recommend this place to any foodie.

We had a few errands to run and decided to head down to the San Carlos Laurel Area to shop and eat. Annette mentioned let's just walk and I'll know where we're going to be eating. ( Trust me , she just feels a great place to eat ) After walking about 25 minutes she wasn't feeling many of the menus until we stopped and looked at what West Park Bistro offered. This is THE PLACE. We ordered simple , an Ahi tuna salad and a Fish sandwich, wine and a mixed drink but what made it extra special was the attentive service of the staff, ESPECIALLY "FIGEN", who was engaging, friendly, and helped with the wine selection. It was one of those perfect weather days, good food, cozy environment and a great selection of dishes to choose from that we promised FIGEN that we'd be back soon because we think we found our new GO TO hangout.

Salmon was really well cooked and tasty. The cuisine was pretty great, I like the broccoli and the sauce within the salmon cuisine. My husband also quite liked his clam pasta. There were quite many clams. There were not so many people in a Labor Day Monday. The waiter was pretty friendly and nice (Yasin Tosun) Full disclosure: Leave a review can get a free shot but I didn’t take it :)

We had such a great experience here! The margarita was spot-on which I had it at the bar and the iron skillet mussels were packed with flavor as a starter. Engin, our server, was so friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. Definitely coming back!

We booked the private room for a special family anniversary party and it was a fabulous experience from start to finish. We planned the event with Jamie and everything was perfect. Despite having a party of 16 we didn't have to pre set a menu which was important to us as we have various allergies and diet restrictions (egg allergy, celiacs, etc.) -- all was accommodated in a delicious and fun meal flawlessly served by Fagin, who made the night feel very festive. We were a demanding crew with lots of substitutions and complicated drink orders and everything was wonderful. It was for my parents 60th wedding anniversary and they haven't stopped talking about how special it was. We will be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at West Park Bistro, and I have to give a special shoutout to David, our waiter. His service was exceptional, but what truly stood out was his skill in crafting the best Paper Plane cocktails I've ever tasted! The balance of flavors was perfect, and each sip was a delightful experience. It's clear that David takes pride in his work, and his passion for mixology shines through. If you’re looking for a refreshing drink that elevates your dining experience, I highly recommend trying his Paper Plane. Overall, I left the bistro thrilled with my experience, and I encourage everyone to visit West Park Bistro and ask for David. You won't be disappointed!

Great dinner spot in San Carlos, perfect for large groups or date nights. As a local, this is definitely a spot my family and I visit often! The staff are always so friendly, ambience is lively and food is solid. Favorites are always their pork chop, burger, calamari, and their toffee bread pudding! This time I around I tried their potato leek soup and butternut squash gnocchi, both were delicious and comforting during this cold night! Overall recommend if you are looking for a dinner spot in san carlos!

We went for brunch. We were pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff was, and the kitchen did a solid job on the food. We had a big group of 7 that was half teenagers and half adults. Everyone raved about the food. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Jamie, who helped us organize the event, was exceptionally responsive and helpful in event planning. Never pushy, and always very courteous and looking to help. The food was fantastic, and the service (bar & table service) was simply outstanding. As it happened, the DJ we had planned for the event was a no show, but Jamie helped address that by making the in house speaker and mic available. The service through the evening was impeccable, and we are very happy to have celebrated this special occasion at West Park Bistro.

We come to this restaurant regularly and it never disappoints. We were there again for Thanksgiving with a group of friends, and it was perfect as always. They offered their regular menu along with a Thanksgiving special. The turkey was outstanding: perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly moist. Everything here is consistently delicious, with a great range of options, and the prices remain very reasonable (which has become rare these days!). The food, the atmosphere, the service and the reliability keep us coming back. Highly recommend!

I ordered the beet salad, which was fresh and tasty, and my friend had the fish tacos, which she enjoyed. Our server Mami was very friendly - when he learned I was from out of town, he gave me a number of suggestions for getting around. He also had some great recommendations for drinks. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxed and nice place for lunch.

The food here is outstanding! It is on the end of the DT san carlos, so I feel like the restaurant is tucked away and more quiet. But the food is so good! Ordered the lamb shank - the meat falls off the bone. The ambiance is nice and relaxing!

My pork tenderloin was delicious. It was served with mashed sweet potatoes and a fresh sliced apple salad. I attended a business dinner. There were also tasty appetizers. The only thing that wasn't 5 star (for me) was the chocolate mousse cake. It was still tasty, but it was a regular chocolate cake.

West Park Bistro is absolutely one of my favorite spots! Everything on the menu is delicious, but my top picks are definitely the fish tacos and the goat cheese with pistachio so unique and full of flavor. And their steaks are always cooked perfectly and taste amazing. The atmosphere is cozy and family-friendly, and the staff are always welcoming and kind. Every visit has been a great experience. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to this restaurant three times over the past year with my monthly group of friends (15 people), and every time has been a real pleasure. The service is always friendly, professional and efficient. The food consistently delivers. It's tasty, well-prepared dishes and plenty of reliable favorites that everyone enjoys. I tried their delicious ravioli, burgers and lentil soup. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and generous portions. We also really appreciated once the private dining room (wine room), which gives us a more intimate space to relax. Definitely a place we’re happy to return to!

Food was ok, the burger was better than the pasta… the meatballs were flavorless but the sauce was good tho. The server was kind, but we wanted to seat outside and BIG mistake. There was bird poop all around, pigeons everywhere, we got an ant in our cocktail. We will give it another chance but definitely not eating outside! Needs urgent cleaning and maintenance!

The first is the person who the party was for got the worst dish. Everyone's fish looked plump and juicy and hers looked liked someone stomped on it. They replaced it, but that didn't make her feel good. Second, is I have a nut allergy and my ravioli came out with nuts on it. I asked to return it and ther waiter snapped at me and told me I need to read the menu. That really ruined the night for me. I spoke to the manager and explained the situation and he was receptive and my meal was replaced. There are so many other delicious restaurants on this strip so I won't be returning here. For large parties I do really well down the street at Town.

We went for Valentine's day and were so excited to have a romantic delicious dinner but we were very disappointed. The service was very friendly and attentive but the ambiance was not romantic at all. They were playing music you might hear at the mall rather than a cozy upscale restaurant. Our meals were also disappointing and lacking flavor, and desserts were downright bad. We walked away saying we could have made better food ourselves at home and saved $200.
