Dan Modern Chinese

Stopped at Dan to grab some takeout for my boss and I. They were busy for Monday night, good for them! I was helped by Anne, the manager. She was AMAZING! So sweet and professional!!! Highly recommended the short rib Dan mein. Anne was so gracious to add a half order of pickled cucumber for us to try and kindly added rice for my order of mapo pork. Anne seriously went above and beyond to take care of me and my order. She is the reason I will be returning back to Dan very soon!

I came here with my family for dinner for the first time on New Year's Eve, and it was a great experience. The dumplings were tasty and fresh, and the service was fast and friendly. My only complaint is that the chicken we ordered wasn't made with white meat, which is disappointing. But other than that, everything was fine. We'll definitely be back.

Came here for new years lunch with my family. I looooved the string beans and veggie dumplings. There's something on the menu for people of most dietary restrictions - GF and vegan. :) Very laid back atmosphere and the manager Anne + staff were so nice, they took photos for us to celebrate CNY! Highly rec.

I got delivery and it arrived in great time! The food was very tasty, just what I wanted. I got the pork dumplings and rice with spinach and egg. I would recommend this establishment to my friends and family. I will be ordering again in the near future.

The soup dumplings did not disappoint—nice big portions and cooked perfectly. I was so glad they didn’t rip on the paper (my biggest pet peeve when I order to-go because then the soup just ends up all over the plate instead of inside the dumpling where it belongs). These held up great and tasted amazing. I also got the salt and pepper tofu which was seasoned perfectly, and the scallion pancake… let’s just say I could eat 5,000 pounds of that every single day for the rest of my life. GREAT PRICES.

Manager Ann really made this a memorable dining experience with her attention to detail and kind tableside manner. We stumbled upon Dan Modern Chinese looking for something late night and what a wonderful surprise! We ordered the Dan Mein Short Rib which was so well seasoned and the steak was tender. Amazing dish! The oxtail noodle soup was another pleasant surprise. Cesar presented every course with a smile and kind demeanor. Overall, just a joy of a place where the food was outpaced only by the remarkable service!

Everything we ate was delicious! Black Pepper Beef, Short Rib Dan Mein, Popcorn Shrimp, Dumplings, Cucumbers.. but my favorite were the Spicy Pork Soup Dumplings! Our server David, and the manager Anne were beyond wonderful to us. We enjoyed Sapporo and chardonnay, too! Fantastic experience, we will be back to try everything else on the menu!

We have really enjoyed Dan Modern! We love the xai long bao especially the pork and spicy pork. The chicken chili oil dumplings are also great if you like a little heat. We can’t get enough of the short rib dan mien and the garlic green beans and order that on every visit. The wait staff have been really attentive even on some busy nights. We went three times this week and aren’t tired of it yet!

I came to celebrate my birthday on November 15th . I had a great experience. The food was very delicious, came out quick and the service was great. From the moment I came in I was seated and was greeted and helped by many staff. Our waiter was Rudy and he was very attentive . Thank you Rudy for the great service. Delicious food! What I appreciated most is that they were diligent in addressing a gluten allergy in my family. In addition to having allergies checkable on the ordering website, they also called me to ensure I knew that some of the items we ordered were not gluten free. It made us feel very very safe in ordering with a good allergy!

Love coming here! It is a little on the pricey side so it's more of a rare treat, but the quality of the food and service is always consistent which is great! Generally, between 2 people depeing on what you order that is, you're looking at about $60+. The pork fried rice is absolutely delicious and so are the Pork/Chicken Soup Dumplings along with the Chicken Noodle Soup. Haven't had a bad experience yet, so I definitely recommend coming here.

Great location, and glad for options if you can’t go too far for XLB. Enjoyed the XLB (more broth than “the others”), short rib fried rice. Also ordered chicken noodle soup & popcorn chicken. Overall, flavors are distinct but disparate, the food tastes good but would taste better to me if everything played together as a team. Def will come back to try crispy dumplings.

I thought this was California, and you can't go wrong with milk tea. I was wrong. The server was slow, and we only saw him twice for order and brought the food to us. We have to flag him to get the bill. I can't imagine during the weekend if this is what you get for service.

When we arrived, they mentioned there was no heater available for outdoor seating, but while we waited, the staff was busy helping another party turn on their heater. It took 20 minutes just to clear a table after the previous diners left, making the service feel extremely slow. As for the food, it was underwhelming. The beef noodle soup was especially disappointing—worse than instant noodles with beef flavoring. I’ve never seen shredded beef used in beef noodle soup before, and it just didn’t work. On the brighter side, their rice was cooked perfectly. Overall, the cleanliness and decent rice were the only redeeming factors.

Server self tipped when I clearly wrote cash on tip option. As a server myself, that is completely unacceptable. Server was given a 20% tip in cash and still had the audacity to add a 30% tip on my card. Luckily i was able to see it in my bank statements and the restaurant was able to accept my dispute. If you go, please check your bank statements after so it doesnt happen to you.
