Every time i eat at this place is an experience! I love the menu. The lasagna is excellent. It has that crispy edge that i like, and the tomato flavors just explode with freshness. Try the scallops, too. I also enjoy the ambiance.

Not often that a restaurant makes me feel the urge to go spread the good news on the internet, but wow. Could not resist getting the 5 course “Pasta Tasting” with the expertly curated wine pairing. I really wish I had an easier time deciding where to start on the menu. Amazing and very knowledge staff all around. Will be back.

We had a snafoo with our reservation where 7 people showed up to a reservation of 5. The restaurant was able to make accommodations for us and took our drink order while we waited. We ordered a number of different pasta dishes and every one that I tried had a great combination of ingredients resulting in a lot of tasty bites! I only had one cocktail but it was delicious. One of our party has their birthday that night and they accommodated our custom candles to place in the desert before serving it. The prices of both the food and drinks we ordered were worth the price. The server at the end was able to close us out with a unique separation of the bill flawlessly and quickly. The service throughout was both timely and friendly.

The wine menu is one of the best I have come across. Very fair pricing on some highly rated producers. The food is excellent. The staff is highly customer centric, and on top of their game. I had a delightful experience all round, and I look forward to coming back next time I'm in Long Beach. Highly recommend, and I am confident you will leave feeling happy!

I love Michael’s. The food is amazing and exquisite. The upstairs dining is gorgeous and on a great day they are able to open the roof for a wonderful breeze.

This is one fabulous restaurant with a staff that makes it a five-star in anybody's book. The bar upstairs is to die for. Windows in the roof and the bartender is the professional of the year fabulous mixologist. The spinach lasagna was cooked as your mother would make it in the world of lasagnas this is number one. The capellini and Manila clams were to die for with a piece of garlic placed in each clamshell. The hostesses were so wonderful to keep a personal note for us on which table we wanted to dine at. Obviously this owner cares so much about his clients and his Personnel it shows minute after minute. every single thing is done as you would expect and the finest restaurants in the world.

This place has an incredibly pleasant and versatile atmosphere - great for a night out with friends, first date, a nice dinner with your family. The octopus, clam linguini and their pizza, especially the mushroom one, were phenomenal. Will definitely go back!!

I've never really had super high end food before coming here, and I have to say it blew me away. I generally don't like cooked tomatoes, but the way they were prepared in the pasta dish I had was absolutely phenomenal. They had a little deal going on when we went, and it made it pretty reasonable, considering the quality, something like $40 a person for 3 courses. Still one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant.

This is my favorite brunch spot in Long Beach. Dishes change with the seasons, and they keep some favorites all year including the velvety biscuits with homemade jam. They offer half off bottles of rose champagne and wonderful cocktails. The service is top notch. It's the perfect balance of attentiveness and just letting you enjoy the experience. The lighting up on the rooftop is incredible.

I have been a client for a longtime and even if we have lots of other options to dine in Long Beach and our surrounding cities I always chose Michael's because service is outstanding and the food never disappoints. Love the atmosphere all around . If we want white table dinning we have indoor option and when we want a little casual we can use the rooftop dining. It's my favorite places to eat . I recommend it .

I love the rooftop here, we used to go for happy hour before the pandemic. I am not sure if they still have the same deals anymore. This was our first time in since covid, the food is delicious! We shared a flatbread, split a pasta dish, each got a glass of wine, and split dessert for around $110 after tip.

Obsessed. My husband & I were here for dinner to celebrate our Anniversary, you guys, it’s seriously the best Italian in the area. Sit upstairs. Everything we ordered came from the recommendation of the waiter. Wine list is wonderful, charcuterie is aged to perfection, pasta delicious & if you can save room for dessert you won’t be disappointed.

This place is a must-visit! The food was absolutely delicious!!! the pizza and lasagna were both spectacular. The gnocchi was outstanding as well, though the portion was noticeably smaller than the other dishes. The burrata starter was a bit of a letdown, as it didn’t really resemble a true burrata, might be worth renaming it on the menu to better set expectations. The rooftop terrace was a great touch, complete with heaters and a cozy vibe. The staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Also worth noting, they have an impressive wine selection with tons of options!

The duck was excellent. Negroni with dried fig was tasty. Excellent setting for a nice evening.

We've been here a few times and I should have written a review a long time ago. This place is perfect for a nice date night, showing friends from out of town and nice place in LB or celebrating a special occasion. We're foodies and love to hit up the happy hour during the week and especially love the upstairs outdoor patio. The service is always spectacular (although it was a bit slow the latest time we were there) and Melody is our favorite server. Thank you for always providing a great dining experience!

I came here for dinner with friends to celebrate the day! Made reservations the same day on a Saturday, we were lucky and got an opening just after they opened the doors! Looked at the menu and noticed that it was Dine LA!!!! We all ordered different things to try and had a fantastic dinner! Highly recommend, taking the inlaws here next time they visit. The weather was California perfect, and they even opened up the canopy! Heavily day at Michaels in Naples!

Nice upscale vibe and delicious food. The duck breast is the best. The restaurant has also a nice patio lounge.

Michael’s on Naples was an unforgettable dining experience on the rooftop, which also has an upstairs bar. As soon as you enter this restaurant, the elegant ambiance and beautiful decor is extraordinary. We truly enjoyed all the courses by Executive Chef Eric Samaniego and savored every bite!! Great quality ingredients and spectacular plating!! Each dish came out looking so beautiful!! The food surpassed all expectations! The combination of flavors was unique and delicious!

We stumbled upon this gem online and decided to celebrate our daughter's birthday here on a Sunday evening. Despite it being low-key, the food and service were fantastic. We enjoyed the mixed meat appetizer and three different pasta dishes, each of which were amazing. The food was of a fine dining quality, but the atmosphere was more relaxed and beachy. We also appreciated being able to watch the SNF game and wildcard baseball playoff without any distractions. Overall, a delightful experience with great food and a cozy atmosphere.

We are happy to have this restaurant here on Naples Island community of Long Beach. The menu is a myriad of Italian deliciousness. The orecchiette pasta e salsiccia & Branzino are my favorites. Great Italian wine selection - Brunello's! Love the upstairs bar with its friendly atmosphere. A definite must dinner destination. Staff is awesome! Fine dining at its best. Hope to see you here!

A pleasant surprise. Found it online. Took our daughter here to celebrate her birthday. It was a Sunday, early evening, so pretty low key. But the service and food were fantastic! We had the mixed meat appetizer and three different pasta dishes. Each were amazing. The food is on par with any fine dining place, but the vibe is a little more beach casual (which is right up our alley). We had an exquisite meal while the SNF game was on one TV and the wildcard baseball playoff was on another. Never a distraction, but rather another little bonus.

We had our holiday party on the rooftop at Michaels, and had a fabulous time. Didn't get pix of all the hits...but here's a few. Massimo the manager & somm, and our server Tyler took exceptional care to make sure the brunch was memorable...and it was. Great service, five star all the way!

Local gem without the hassle of leaving Long Beach. Right on Naples Island, steps from the beautiful canals is the wonderful upscale Italian restaurant. We sat on the roof which was shaded nicely and open/airy. The service was very attentive and professional. We had three courses and split each dash. House-made burrata was amazing. Wonder zucchini blossoms, crispy and hot. The homemade pasta was light, delicate, and had been cooked to the right doneness. The Branzino was artfully deboned and beautifully presented while being perfectly seasoned.

My evening at Michael's on Naples was an unforgettable five-star dining experience that surpassed all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere exuded elegance and warmth, setting the stage for a perfect father-daughter date. With a reservation in hand, we were promptly seated, and the convenience of valet parking for just seven dollars made our arrival seamless. Entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a sophisticated ambiance that perfectly balanced classiness with a welcoming atmosphere. The attention to detail in the décor and layout enhanced the dining experience, making us feel like honored guests from the start. Though we opted out of cocktails, the tempting array of libations hinted at the skilled craftsmanship of the bartenders. Instead, my daughter and I indulged in Stillwater and sparkling water, respectively, both impeccably served and ensuring our glasses were never empty throughout the evening. Our server, Bleue, deserves special commendation for her exceptional service. With a warm smile and extensive knowledge of the menu, she guided us through our culinary journey with grace and attentiveness, enhancing our overall experience. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. Executive Chef Eric Samaniego's culinary prowess was evident in every dish we savored. The Pólipo, featuring Grilled octopus, fingerling potatoes, spring onions, and hazelnut chili crunch, was a symphony of flavors and textures that delighted our palates. Next, we indulged in the Gnocchi, delicate potato dumplings paired with braised short rib and taleggio cheese gnocchi, atop a bed of polenta. Each bite was a revelation, showcasing Chef Samaniego's mastery of Italian cuisine. And finally, the pièce de résistance - the Grilled prime 32 oz bone-in ribeye steak, drizzled with Tuscan olive oil and rosemary. Cooked to perfection, each bite melted in our mouths, leaving us craving more. To end our culinary journey on a sweet note, my daughter opted for gelato, while I indulged in the Torta della Nonna. Both desserts were exquisite, providing a perfect conclusion to an exceptional meal. In summary, our experience at Michael's on Naples was nothing short of extraordinary. From the impeccable service to the sensational cuisine, every aspect of our evening was meticulously crafted to perfection. I wholeheartedly recommend Michael's on Naples to anyone seeking an unparalleled dining experience in Long Beach.

I recently dined at Michael’s on Naples and had an unforgettable experience. The customer service was truly top-notch. everyone was attentive and went above and beyond, not only with usual services but also by helping with my newborn and stroller needs, making the dining experience even smoother. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the food. The lasagna was exceptional, perfectly layered, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection. Every bite was a delight! I also tried their pistachio pizza, and it was a revelation. The combination of flavors was unique and delicious, with a perfect balance of savory and nutty. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Michael’s on Naples to anyone looking for fantastic Italian cuisine and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!

Michael’s on Naples is one of my favorite restaurants in Long Beach. It’s a small Italian Restaurant located in Naples. All though the inside decor doesn’t seem to impress many, I guarantee their dishes will make up for it. They also offer a good wine list for all wine lovers. I usually prefer to be seated upstairs, especially when it’s nice outside. They use to have a nice outdoor fireplace, but it was recently remodeled and they added a bar. It’s still nice, but I loved enjoying my wine upstairs by the fireplace. Enjoy!

Fantastic food and wine paired beautifully with attentive and friendly service. The giant ravioli special was nothing short of amazing. It featured an interesting combination of cheese and egg inside, along with wild black trumpet mushrooms. The Spigola - pan seared white sea bass over venere rice was both visually and flavorfully stunning. What an incredible meal!

The atmosphere was great as the restaurant felt high-end but accessible and the retractable roof was nice for having the fresh beach air without having to sit on the uncovered patio and risk getting too cold. The staff was super friendly and attentive. They initially brought us the wrong pizza but immediately realized the mistake and brought us out the correct one. There were no other issues aside from that. The food was pretty good but not amazing. The risotto was okay, though it was the first time my wife or I had risotto so that should be taken into account. The Chef's Pizza was better than the risotto but the toppings did have a habit of sliding off. However, the taste was excellent. The drinks we had were pretty standard cocktail affair but still good. The price was pretty standard for a higher-end place like this and we didn't feel like it was too crazy. While it is not a restaurant we would go to all the time, it is a very nice date night spot to have some good Italian food with an upscale atmosphere. Recommended for couples looking for a little romantic spot or for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries.

The food is good and the service is great. Michael's on Naples has a great ambiance, but the food is expensive and the portions are small. I don't think I've ever left a restaurant hungry before. I really enjoyed the pasta, but there were literally 7 pasta pieces in my dish.

Mixed reviews this evening, but overall it was still wonderful. We ordered a quick appetizer before our real dinner at a place down the street. The octopus was phenomenally cooked and the smashed potato was an excellent pairing. I didn't love the wine or the cocktails but the bartender was awesome and gave us a lot of great tips and recommendations. Their coffee Negroni was superb. The staff did what they could and we appreciate them. Still one of my favorite Italian spots in SoCal.

Mixed reviews this evening, but overall it was still wonderful. We ordered the pasta tasting and the chef’s tasting with wine. I can easily say the chef’s tasting won the evening hands down. Everything was amazing. The pasta however was not met with favor. The ladies hated every item on the pasta tasting, but the men loved everything on the chef’s tasting and of course we shared. The staff did what they could and we appreciate them. Still one of my favorite Italian spots in SoCal.

Very interesting place. Its got a intimate lower floor and a exciting bar open air design up top. Filled with the well heeled and beautiful. It's a very nice "right choice" to make. Its going to hold your wallet so know what your coming for. However the dishes are pleasantly and surprisingly good and offer unique touches that set this apart from a more traditional Italian place. Wait staff was on point and ready at the drop to serve you well. I suggest reservations. An interesting observation is the two different "looks" so choose wisely because its a different party.

First time. I truly enjoyed all the courses...the salad, main dish & the dessert was simply delicious. They take a long time to serve you, and the portion sizes are unpredictable. If you’re actually hungry, don’t order the pasta dishes, especially the gnocchi. I’ve been here twice, and both times at least one person ordered a pasta dish and then had to steal off someone else’s food because they were still hungry. It didn’t help that it took so long for the food to come out, and they didn’t even warn us so we could order an appetizer or something. One positive thing I have to say is that my cocktail was very nice. But overall I don’t think I would come back here. Don’t want to risk waiting 1.5 hours for food and then leave the restaurant hungry.

The location and atmosphere was great and so were the drinks. But unfortunately we were really disappointed by the chef tasting menus. I tried food from all courses of both menus and didn't particularly like any of the courses with the exception of the free initial item. So much so that we ordered more food off the menu instead.

We attended the Valentine's fixed menu. Food was mostly bland and under seasoned. Starter was cold when it arrived. Second course was just fine. Nothing wrong nothing memorable. Nettle pasta was supposed to have truffle and maybe it was made in the same room as a truffle buts as close as it got. Mains were again under seasoned, but not bad. Deserts we're simply bad. Value for the price was terrible at over $150 per person. First visit and will not return again. Long Beach offers too many better options.

I visited Michael’s on Naples in Long Beach for my birthday and, unfortunately, left disappointed. We ordered the pizza, squid ink pasta with lobster, mushroom bolognese, and a steak. The mushroom bolognese had decent flavor, but the noodles were overcooked. The pizza was a floppy mess—the crust lacked structure, and the tomato sauce was bland and underseasoned. The squid ink pasta had a strong fishy taste that overwhelmed the dish. We also ordered a steak medium rare, but it came out more on the rare side. On a positive note, the service was good—our waiter was attentive and friendly. However, given the price point, I expected much better quality and execution from the kitchen. The food lacked flavor. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Went there for dinner this evening and was disappointed by many things. The only aspect of the restaurant I have no complaints about is our server Bleue, who was amazing but just extremely busy taking care of so many tables. Noise on the second floor: The outdoor rooftop that I had specifically reserved because of COVID concerns was not actually a rooftop but rather the second floor of the restaurant where the bar was, so still indoors. There was in fact an outdoor area that was connected to this second floor, which makes me believe that somehow we did not get the seating that we reserved for. This second floor was absolutely terrible because it was impossible to hear anything over the loud music and rowdy people at the bar. It's NFL night, I get it. However, I feel like the dining place should have been a lot quieter than it was. They played such loud music and everyone was basically shouting to be heard. Coming down from the second floor after we were done, we saw that the first floor was basically empty and so much quieter. Maybe it would have been better if we had chosen to dine indoors in the first place. Food and price: We had the chef's tasting menu that cost 85 dollars per person without wine pairing. Even before we ordered anything our server let us know that they had a small kitchen today and that food may be delayed. We decided to go with it, not knowing that for six dishes, it would take us over 2.5 hours to finish, most of that time being us just waiting for our food. Honestly the food I think was overpriced, based on how much we had to wait for the food just to get lukewarm pasta and steak. For the caviar pasta I could not really taste the caviar. The antelope loin(?) was cold when we got it, and I personally don't see how the "salsify" added anything to the dish. The cocktails were great though! Overall: I was really disappointed at today's experience because many reviews on Google said that this was a great place. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to dine and actually be able to have an audible conversation with your party. And just fyi, they do not check for vaccine proof--do what you will with this information.
