Outstanding! Service excellent! Food great. This just may be my new favorite Mexican Restaurant. Oh and the Margherita - perfect! The server was polite, checked on us, told us who would be taking over while she was on break, mananager/owner thanked us for coming in and choosing their restaurant. I can't wait to go back!
Sooo yummy, came here for my moms birthday and our waitress was so lovely. The whole vibe of the place was just great, definitely made a great first impression on us. Come with a huge appetite because they do not let you leave hungry with their huge portions🙂
This place is great. First packed for a Monday night. Took 10 minutes to find a single seat at the bar. Owner was working behind the bar helping out and got to talking. Great guy. The burrito was recommended and was awesome. Wish I found this place sooner. Food came fast was hot and the lime cilantro killed it.
Great Mexican food. I'm from California so the Mexican food/restaurants are very slim pickings here in Buffalo, so when we found this gem we are permanent customers. Prices are great the food is even better. And the portions are crazy big, plenty of left overs. Check them out you won't be disappointed.
Miss Nicole was a amazing waitress and always had a smile on her face!! She constantly came over and checked how we were during and frequently came back to give us water and chips!!:):) she was great with kids and even though they were busy because it was spring break she still had time to check on us. Food was delicious, great people, and great customer service!!
One of our family's favorite places to go, the food is always excellent and the portion sizes are unreal. We always say lets try somewhere different, but we end up at Arriba, cannot say enough good things.
My husband and I went out for a lunch date today and we had a great time! We were greeted by the sweetest hostess and she promptly brought over delicious and addicting chips and salsa. The frozen pina colada was refreshing and had just the right amount of alcohol in it. My husband enjoyed the house margarita as well! Our entrees were flavorful - I had the chicken and corn enchiladas and my husband had the steak enchilada flat bread. The portions were huge and our only regret was it was a hot day and we couldn’t keep a to-go box in the car to walk Main Street after lunch. Our waitress was attentive and helpful as well. We will definitely be back :)
My wife and I had our first meal here tonight. We ate early, around 5pm, and it was nice to see there were other guests there enjoying food as well. As two people who have lived the last 8 years outside if Houston Texas, where Mexican food is more popular than pizza, it was refreshing to see such a unique decor and ambiance in the restaurant. We were immediately greeted by a bar tender and we were promptly seated. The first encounter we had wad with a very pleasant young man who brought us chips and salsa. This is my first and really only complaint about this place. The salsa... well... lacked flavor. The ingredients all appeared fresh and tasted good, but it was missing something that at least I consider key to what salsa should taste like... but your mileage may vary. Now moving on, the server was excellent. She was attentive but not overbearing, and very prompt with everything from start to finish. I had the steak flautas and my wife had the chicken fajita quesadillas. Everything was brought to our table quickly and was HOT on arrival! The food was outstandingly good for Buffalo NY Mexican cuisine and really on par with some of our favorite places in Texas. The prices were very reasonable and combined with the quality of the service and the friendliness of everyone there, our experience really couldn't have been better. We won be returning and the next time we plan on getting the guacamole and see how that is!
Food was delicious as usual. Seating was limited due to social distancing as was understandable so there was a bit of a wait. We opted to eat at the bar as was early enough to get seats. We have been ordering to go meals through the pandemic so was nice to actually enjoy the meal at the restaurant.
Service is outstanding and the food is always really good. A local review describes the dishes as "aircraft carrier sized plates of comfort food" and that fits this establishment perfectly. Prices seem a little high but once the portion is on the table you realize that the price covers practically two meals.
This was the first restaurant we dined in since we moved to East Aurora. The food was amazing and the portions were humongous. We ordered the taco enchiladas and weren't expecting such a mammoth plate! This place was so good my husband and I went there without the kids twice in the next week. You have to try it!!!!
Food is absolutely delicious, we love to get their nacho dip and cheese crisp. I've tried the shrimp and lobster quesadilla as well as their steak flautas, both were amazing. Service is always great, I like the decorations as well. Love stopping by when I'm in East Aurora!
Lovely place. Ordered the traditional platter with a bean and cheese taco and a “veggie” taco. I wish I knew the veggies in there on the menu!! I hate mushrooms and there were mushrooms in the taco and I didn’t enjoy that. Waitress was extremely helpful!! She was very nice and experienced.
I wish I was able to give them 10+ stars. We moved to the Rochester area more than two years ago from Houston TX. We have visited so many "Mexican" restaurants. We have been let down every time. When we discovered Arriba Tortilla it was as if the angels we singing. The food and service at Arriba Tortilla are top notch. The nachos are enormous. The seafood quesadilla is to die for. The guacamole is authentic. We live in the outskirts of Rochester it is a three hour round trip in the car worth every single second in the car. If you haven't been GO it is so worth it
Arriba has the BEST chips and salsa, hands down! And the portions are HUGE! I end up with 2-3 meals from a single order! You can't go wrong with the Portobello Mushroom Fajitas or the Parm Crusted Veggie Quesadilla - both are DELICIOUS! This post was made in connection with a Toast promotion.
I love going here week nights because it doesn't get too crazy. The food is always cooked and seasoned well. The pricing is good, and I always bring home leftovers! Our servers have always been so polite and quick with food/drink orders. Highly recommed!
This is my favorite restaurant in East Aurora. Food is fresh, tasty, healthy, huge portions! I love the friendly waitstaff and ambiance.
Best Mexican around by far. Somewhat pricey, but with large portions.
If you're in the area, definitely stop here. Their Guac, and pineapple salsa are so good. Couldn't get enough. I had flautas, and my coworker had the biggest quesadilla I have ever seen. Portions were generous and everything tasted super fresh. In town for nearly a week and could have had every meal here.
Very good American style Mexican food. The bar wait for drinks was too long, but it's a very small bar area. The food and service were great!
Food was very good, did the steak fajitas, portions were a nice size and the spices were excellent. My only complaint would be that I though the margaritas were a bit weak. But that wouldn't stop me from coming back.
Food was excellent, the only problem was the wait. No reservations is okay during the week, but not on weekends. There is also no place to sit for older people while they wait, except outside.
Went here for dinner this past weekend. Our server (Matt? - The guy with the tattoos) was amazing, honestly the best wait service I have ever had in my life. The food was delicious and they make a TASTY margarita. Will definitely be coming back.
Came for lunch on a Friday almost right when Arriba opened. We were seated immediately and offered drinks while waiting for the last member of our party to arrive. Once everyone was present, the waitress came quickly for our orders. Food was lightning fast! Everyone was pleased with their orders and portions.
Got a warm welcome from the staff. Seated Immediately. Food and drinks ordered. Great timing, food was incredible. Will go back soon.
FABULOUS margaritas - tequila selection is top notch! The food is consistently amazing, there are too many great dishes to pick the best one. Our favorite place for lunch, dinner, and drinks in EA!
Went today and had a simple 2 beef tacos plate. Best tacos I've had in years. Very flavorful and vibrant with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Hit the taste buds absolutely perfect! Coming back with the family!
Absolutely loved my food, I stopped in Monday with my daughter. I had the chicken skewers, my daughter had the lobster/shrimp quesadilla!! I felt bad for the female server (Hannah) she was so busy with all the people coming in but still amazing service and a great personality!!
Every time I go to eat here the food is better and better. They really put in the effort! Hats off to the cooks for always stepping up and giving me the best Mexican food in Western New York. The atmosphere is truly fun and the outside patio is great. And last bust not least the Margarita is an art in itself. All top shelf ingredients and masterfully made!
This place was recommended to us by a couple friends. We were very impressed at the authenticity and ease of ordering. The tamale is HUGE, and ofc so is the monster enchilada. I would deffinetly also recommend the quest dip w chorizo. It hits!! Very very impressed w the food, quick service for such intricate and authentic dishes, and knowledgeable friendly staff. We will be back, Y gracias todos!
Food has always been great no matter whether eating in or taking out.
I went there with a friend last Saturday. There's an excellent selection of food, and my enchilada was delicious. Bar service was great and they have a lot of interesting mixed drinks, along with a few craft beers. Our server Carlie was fast and kept our glasses full
What a kind and gracious experience here tonight. I was solo parenting with three kids - 5 y/o girl and twin 18 month boys. Along with my elderly Uncle and mom. The entire staff was helpful and understanding. Drinks and food were swift and exactly correct. There were plenty of vegan options for those in our group (the refried beans don't have lard either!). Thank you thank you, sorry we had to dip out quickly!
I have been to Arriba many times and it never disappoints. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are huge! I would highly recommend this great East Aurora treasure!
We had a family dinner here and it was excellent! The shrimp and lobster quesadilla was amazing! As were the steak & chicken flautas! The shrimp tacos were a hit too! The blood orange margarita was quite yummy! Topped off the evening with the churros ~ they did not disappoint! We'll definitely be back.
First time at Arriba Tortilla was enjoyable. Good food with excellent service. The parking lot is definitely a plus.
Only been here once. Our server Matthew was very friendly. The blood orange margarita I personally did not like. It was really bitter and had no major flavor to it. However the food is what made me give 5 stars. The chicken quesadilla was BOMB. I never finish my plate when I eat out no matter how big or small, and I destroyed this.
Great food and service! We came in with a large group of people and they got us sat down at the time we asked. It was perfect! Our hostess and waitress always kept the table full of chips and guacamole. 10/5 stars! Good job.
Oh my goodness this queso was the best ever!! I’ve had queso at every Mexican restaurant I’ve been to and this one is the best. I seriously can’t imagine getting queso anywhere else because I’ll be disappointed. We also got the combo sampler platter (forgot what it was called). After filling up on the queso, my husband and I could barely finish it but everything on it was great! We hope to be back 🙂
I had a really enjoyable dinner here last night. Although the wait for our food was incredibly long, and we had to ask a couple of times for water, I believe they were short staffed at the time. Food was on point and delicious. Drinks were affordable and tasty. Starter and free chips & salsa were a nice addition.
Great spot with great service and the food was outstanding! Jordan was our server and she really made it a fun experience. We will definitely be back
Fun atmosphere, very festive, amazing food and we had a great time talking with the bartneder Kaitlyn and the owner Kelly! We will be back and spread the word!
I am from Texas and this place puts Tex-Mex to shame!!! Best queso ever!!! Our server was Emily and she was so sweet and personable. Can't wait to come back!
The food was fantastic, perfectly cooked to perfection. I had the chicken flautas, with all the sides on the side. That jap jelly is to die for! The only thing that eclisped the immaculate food, was the service. Our hostess was so quick to seat, get us drinks, and chips and salsa. We felt so at home thanks to the service of, Emily, I think her name was. While no one could even try to follow Emily's service, Bridget waddled along and knocked it out of the park. She was quick, speedy, timely, efficient, kind, compassionate, and above all else, professional. Our food was ordered and brought out within 10-15 minutes, and it was beautiful prepared. Compliments to the chef on that one. Hats off to the owner for cultivating such an amazing experience through great service, great food, and a great atmosphere. I highly recommend requesting either Bridget or Emily if you want fantastic service like I received today. 10/10, would give 6 stars if I could.
Consistently good Mexican food for the area. The nachos are to die for, a major recommendation. However they are massive so bring like 5 people. Vegetarian options are readily available. Only possible issue is this place gets busy fast and can have long wait times for both seating and food. I recommend going in off hours.
Food is amazing, great service, lovely outside dining area in back. Had Flautas and combo dinner. Steak tacos were delicious. Loved the corn pudding. Great atmosphere, Mexican motif. Bar has nice selection. Easy access. Rear entrance to patio area. Not your average Mexican, different flavors really take the experience to a new level.
We really enjoyed this out of the way little restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. We had the bbq burrito, shrimp and lobster quesadilla (to die for!), and the chicken quesadilla with margaritas and sangria. Everything was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back!
For just a short drive off NY 400 and NY 78, you can enjoy a clean and culturally decorated pleasant atmosphere for Mexican restaurant dining. I ordered the chicken chimichanga. It was a bit pricey at $17 but I went for it. I ordered a melted cheese dip while I waited. The chips and salsa were nice but that cheese dip ....yummmm! When my chimichanga arrived my eyeballs fell out! The thing was huge! There was rice and beans and a melted cheese sauce dripping all over the chimi. The wait staff was courteous and attentive...no complaints here y'all! Enjoy your visit because I will be back!
Service was outstanding. Thought the food was just on the "OK" side and a bit expensive. Very noisy, we could not really carry on a conversation with other people at our table. There is no place really to sit & wait for a table. We had to wait in the outside "entryway" where it was very cold (no heat). Margaritas were way to strong, couldn’t even enjoy them. After a couple of sips, we left them looking "untouched" and pushed them to the side of the table.
Let me start with; I am not a Mexican food fan, but we go to dinner with friends once a week and this place makes it into our restaurant rotation about once every other month. The staff is always great, they accommodate customizing your order, very polite and friendly. The food is good if you like Mexican, I only say this because some of us are pretty picky eaters and we have returned many times. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5...I am not a Mexican food lover.
1st visit. Not your average Mexican restaurant. Seems that the chef has taken the basics and put his amazing creative ideas to them. I had the Chilli Relleno with chicken loaded. So delicious. Had zucchini, portobello mushrooms, pineapple, Chipotle smashed potatoes, and goat cheese! The chips were super fresh and the salsa excellent. Hot sauce was very flavorful too. I'm going back!
It was a really great experience, loved the tasty food. I attended with 2 other people for sit down lunch on a weekday and my only issue is that there was only one waitress working. She was very capable of handling us and the 4 other filled tables but there was a delay in small things like drink and cashing our bills. Other than that everything else was amazing!
Food is good, and you get plenty. I ordered the beef enchiladas. I ate off of it twice. Unfortunately they use a spice I am not a fan of. Sour cream helps counteract the spice. Service is very friendly, but they get busy on a Saturday at lunch. The service did a great job, but they got busy, and we had to ask for the check, after they passed our table a few times. I loved the atmosphere. I like a dim setting, it makes me feel like our table is more private.
The restaurant can get loud, but the decor is nice and the staff are very friendly. The food is also DELICIOUS and the servings are huge. I got the chicken chimichanga and the leftovers lasted me for breakfast and lunch the next day. They also have lots of vegetarian options. Our waitress was very friendly and chatty and the service was awesome. This is my new favorite Mexican place.
This was our second visit to this Mexican themed restaurant and we loved the food and attentive staff but both times it as terribly loud with all patrons attempting to talk loudly over others. The decor is nice and tables are located far enough apart except for the crescendo of loud conversation. The management should inform customers that they should leave their stadium screaming at the door.
An interesting take on Mexican food… it’s not what I expected but it was a decent meal. I will say, the portions are absolutely Texas sized and you can get away with sharing a meal and still satisfy your hunger… I had the green enchiladas with a veggie filling (thank you for having vegetarian options!) No one at our table was able to finish their meals. 😅 The atmosphere was cute and the wait staff was super patient and sweet.
All the usual Mexican-American selections plus a few creative menu items in a colourful atmosphere at this restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly, forgot to bring the hot sauce I asked for but I ended up just fine without it so I didn't really try to get her attention, and otherwise she was attentive enough. I tried the veggie tomatilla flatbread. It was like an open-faced quesadilla. The tomatilla sauce was delicious (but salty), and I liked the assortment of veggies. Super cheesy. The tortilla was not sturdy enough to support the weight of all the toppings so I had to fork-and-knife it. I enjoyed this; it was different and kind of fun. Huge portions. I ate 5/8 slices of my flatbread. I was with my parents who ordered 1 taco each and that was enough for a complete meal for both of them. While it doesn't stand out to me compared to similar Mexican-American restaurants, it was good and I would consider stopping here again if I'm driving through again.
The restaurant was mostly empty when I went there so some of the atmosphere may have been missing. Good food and plenty of it. Wait staff was very good. They got my order right and remembered me throughout the visit. Food came out in a timely manner and was hot. Ordered fajitas and there was enough for two or maybe three people! The only minor complaint that I have is there is no beer on tap. They serve RC Cola and I found I actually liked it. Huh. Go figure. I always fancied myself as a Coke person.
After a late Friday afternoon round of golf at a different local establishment we opted to give this watering hole a try for dinner. Found plenty of ample parking as Arriba sharers a large public lot with many others. So we backed our rig into a spot not too far from the entrance and scampered on in. We were pleasantly surprised to find no wait on a Friday evening and we were seated at a high top near the bar area. Barely seated 15 seconds and we were greeted by the first basket of fresh chips and salsa. Delicious! Possibly the best chips I've had of the many local Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants we've frequented. We also tried the dip sampler with guac, queso, and pico, also phenomenal. For the main course I opted for the taco platter and was able to substitute shrimp tacos with no problem. The tacos were delicious, the shrimp cooked perfectly, and the sides were typical. With the exception of the corn pudding that is. That was amazing, I would've bathed in it if I could have! Though it might be considered a little pricey by some standards, the amount of food more than makes up for it. We have plenty of leftovers. So give this local joint a shot. You'll be happy you did! 🌮🌮
This place came highly recommended, and I have to say I wasn't impressed with the food. Salsa is very thick, but like tomato paste thick. Food lacked character. Everything is very salty. Flautas were greasy and.. heavy, as in I took two bites and really didn't want anymore. Place is clean, wait staff friendly and helpful. I'm just disappointed
Food was good I would go back, Frozen margarita was very basic and probably less than a standard shot of tequila so I only order one. Nobody was at the bar serving nor at the wait to be seated counter when we walked in at about 1230 which is prime lunch time. Seemed like only one young lady was hosting, bartending and serving food. Two women that were sitting at the bar when we got there started to help her clean tables which I thought was weird because they didn't help when it was busy. Music was not on till those 2 ladies started to help and it was country/pop music which I thought was really weird for a mexican restaurant.
A bit disappointed. My son brought me here a year or so ago and the service and food were phenomenal. This time there was a huge drop in quality. It wasn't as good as before. It didn't help that on that night there was a large group of drunk ladies having a night out and it was so loud you couldn't talk at your own table. Dinner took forever to be served and wasn't terribly hot when it reached the table. Not so sure I'd go back again.
Far from authentic Mexican (we'll call it "contemporary"), but very good; we had the tenderloin & corn salsa burrito, & lobster & shrimp quesadilla respectively, & both were downright scrumptious. A sour note though, & the main reason for the mediocre rating was what I consider to be an exceptionally BAD cocktail (was a special too, their "Blood Orange margarita"). The limpest stiff drink I've ever had, & it wasn't even good. I'm pretty lenient & can usually forgive a subpar cocktail, we all have those days, but it was VERY overpriced to boot, within $5 of my meal. That, & while they've obviously invested heavily in the theme with the decorations, it seemed a little "try hard," & the cherry on top was the reggae playing over the speakers, LoL. I'd go again, but I'd see what the wait was at several area restaurants first.
Service was good. The enchiladas were not like any I’ve had before. They were one big glob. Very chewy. When I’ve had them before , they would be rolled separately . I ate very little . My friend and I were very disappointed. We both had upset stomachs that evening into the next day.
The beginning nachos and salsa were a bit too hot... kind of over powered the rest of the meal. To the point where we couldn't get the taste buds working for our actual meal.
Ordered chimichangas and they were bland. Salsa was good.
Place didn't seem too bad. Service was friendly and attentive. The house made hot sauce was good. Unfortunately, my girlfriend found a dead bug in the cilantro on her plate and lost appetite not even halfway through our meal. Our server immediately said she will remove her order from the bill.
Food was nothing special terrible service. Portions are ridiculously small Had a enchilada that had little chicken in it and ordered two margaritas without salt and both came back with salt both times and nobody seem to care about anything except the bill was ridiculous. the only thing good about dinner was the people we where with great to see them and catch up. But would never waste my money again at that place when there’s so many better places to go.
The food was not great. For some reason I was not allowed to bring my bar tab to my table, my wife had to go to the table by herself while I waited for a busy bartender. I ended up leaving cash at the bar unattended so I could just join my wife. The dining area was loud and cramped. The server and staff were attentive but the food was less than stellar for the price although the presentation was attractive. I probably won't return.
We went here yesterday. Our server was awesome! The food was mostly decent. We ordered a BBQ Chicken Flatbread as an appetizer. The tortilla wasn't cooked/strong enough to pick up and eat. We resigned to using a knife and fork to eat, but it was difficult to do. The enchiladas we ordered had too much sauce on them and not enough chicken. Not sure where the corn salsa was on it. The beans and rice lacked flavor. We dined outside because it was a beautiful summer evening. Unfortunately, the plastic chairs weren't accommodating for bigger persons. One of the arms of the chairs almost broke off and my fiance's dress got caught where in the broken area was. It took a few minutes to free it without ripping it.
The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean, but I came away severely disappointed. I’m not sure where the idea came from to serve Tamales like this, but please stick to the traditional method. This was a dry, flavorless, and unappetizing abomination in the name of this food. Every person who I have shown this picture to was appalled! Not only that, but 20$ for 1 tamale is a ripoff. I would return for the queso dip, but I probably would not trust any meal from this place again.
Don't bother with carryout. They always screw something up. Last week, they did not put Pico Da Gallo in the order. Didn't find out until I was home. I called immediately and the person even admitted it had been left out. Since I was charged for it, I asked for a credit. I was told I'd get it. Nope - no credit. The chips are always horrible when in a carryout as well. They also package things poorly so that half the food is stuck in the container.
Started to get concerned when I sat down and my arms stuck to the table from whatever was spilled on it but not cleaned (had to wash up in the bathroom immediately and blew through our napkins immediately). That transitioned to (and maybe it was new kitchen staff, but) out of the 3 meals we ordered (chicken tacos, pulled pork tacos, and a beef chimichanga), 2 had meat with no seasoning and no sauce resulting in a very bland experience.... the refried beans had more flavor. Not great, especially for the price.
disgusting. food was so mid and there were so many flies. I could not enjoy my food without a bug attacking me or falling into my food or drink. There are so many nicer mexican places in buffalo, this place is gross. wish i could rate it 0.
