My wife saw this place on TikTok, so we decided to give it a try. We made a reservation just in case, and the call was handled smoothly. We arrived about 15 minutes early and still got seated after only a 10-minute wait. Caden took care of us — super friendly and gave us some great insider tips on what to order. My wife loved the spicy mango margarita — it really hit the spot. I tried the coconut margarita, which was a bit too sweet for me, but still pretty good. When it came time to eat, we ordered lobster (I can’t remember exactly which dish) and it was absolutely delicious. 😋 Overall, the staff was very nice and welcoming. I’d rate the food and service 5 stars, but the place itself 4 stars, as there’s definitely room for improvement and some updates needed. We’ll definitely be coming back!
I'm sorry I took so long to get here The dining experience. Was completely excellent. The short rib was tender and juicy, the sauce was (Cabernet demigloss) excellent. The server Juliana was very attentive and checked on me often. The highest compliments to the Chef! The atmosphere is very warm and cozy.
The BEST lobster roll you will ever eat is the Maryland Roll at Jackson Hall. We're not big fans of lobster roll, and we've eaten it from Baltimore to Ogunquit, never having been impressed. But recently, a friend visiting from The Great White North asked us for lobster roll, and we'd been hearing about Jackson Hall as a good place for it for awhile, so we took him. WOW. Really impressive. We ordered three different rolls - the Maine (mayo), the Connecticut (butter) and the Maryland (spicy, with crab and butter) and all three were impressive - both in quantity of lobster, buttered, grilled bun, and quality of the lobster - but the Maryland was positively spectacular, as were the spicy fries with it. Chef Michael visited our table, was very visible during the visit, and was delightful. Service was excellent! Great experience. We live 40 minutes away and will be coming back again...and again. Reservations recommended.
First time coming here and we were blown away! We grabbed seats at the bar right by the outdoor area and it gave a great indoor outdoor combination atmosphere. The bartender, Gabriel, took excellent care of us and was very personable. We ordered a coconut margarita and the Keep Your Gin Up to start and they were great drinks. We started with the Burnt Ends Skillet, the Gorgonzola Cream Steamed Mussels Pot, and the Fried Zucchini Flower special. We were thrilled will all of them and would order them again in heartbeat because of how flavorful they were. For entrees we had the Connecticut and Maryland Lobster Rolls. I’ve had plenty of lobster rolls and these were by far the BEST I have ever had! I need to come back and try the other six options now. We weren’t going to get dessert, but the food was so good thus far that we were enticed into ordering it. We needed up getting the Hot Cookie Dough and the Tartufo. If you manage to have room for dessert, then. I HIGHLY recommend getting them. Also, we ordered some of the GIANT cocktails such as the Coco Loco Margarita as well as Coconuts For You. Honestly, this as one of the best dining experiences that I’ve had. I will be back and will be back encouraging others to do so!
6/5 stellar food, service, and space! Our server Josh was amazingly attentive and helpful too. So refreshing to have such friendly and welcoming service, especially in the broader NYC area. It’s a bit far traveling from NYC but now we can’t wait to go back. It’s worth the trip! We came on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch and it was PACKED. Over 80% of the tables indoors and outdoors were filled and I can totally see why. Food: Huge menu and insanely great lobster roll. Worth 100% of the price. Thick, juicy meat and plenty of sides - we’ve eaten a ton of lobster rolls across major cities and this one takes the cake. Great portion and absolutely delicious. Don’t miss this one! Salad was filling and delicious too. Service: Outstanding. Our server Josh was quick, efficient, and super friendly, even despite the restaurant being so busy. Made good conversation and even congratulated us on a recent life milestone. What a memorable server! Ambiance/Space: Huge huge huge. Big outdoor space and even bigger indoor space across two really large rooms. You could fit hundreds of people in here seated no problem. Bustling afternoon but good service and chatter.
i would leave 10 stars if i could. we loved it!!! food was fantastic, staff was so nice and attentive. Nicole our waitress was adorable so sweet and attentive. Chef mike is the man and knows what he is doing i trust him with my life now. Get the paella and a lobster roll you won’t regret it. AND BRING UR DOG IF U HAVE ONE MY DOG HAD THE BEST DAY!!!!
Dinner was amazing at Jackson Hall. All it took was one instagram video showcasing their Lobster Rolls to get me out there. Love that they do Connecticut style and give you a lot of Lobster. Unlike overpriced NYC establishments that use a lot of Mayo and lettuce etc. Service was great! Well worth the 45 mile bike ride or even better for those that are driving.
My husband surprised me today with lunch at Jackson Hall. When we pulled up, the parking lot was packed. We had to park across the street but didn’t mind because we knew we were going to a really good place. When we walked in our hostesses.Ayana & Natalia greeted us with great big smiles, and despite the fact that there were 169 people already previously seated, we got a table right away. (I’m still super impressed by this one thing) Our server, Josh, was very pleasant and accommodating, and recommended to us as an appetizer, the barbecue brisket burnt ends skillet. He said it was his favorite thing and boy oh boy he was not wrong. It was absolutely fantastic. My husband got the Maryland crab and lobster roll which he devoured. I got the lobster grilled cheese and was so stuffed. I had to bring half of it home. It was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is very family like and all the guests were either laughing or smiling (and they’re baby friendly too.) As we were about to leave the table next to us where two gentlemen were seated, told Josh that they came all the way from Brooklyn to be here for lunch. I thought that was very cool. It’s a really great place and I’m really looking forward to going back there again real soon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ X 💯
Place was really busy, we had a 40 minute wait for a table. Went to the bar and bar was packed. An employee helped us out and got us a drink menu, then we order two drinks while standing off to the side of bar. In the meantime a high top was opening up and another employee grabbed it for us had it cleaned immediately and served us right away. Ended up sitting in 15 minutes. Fantastic service and the apps and food were excellent!!! Buffalo Mac & Cheese was awesome!👏
Once again, the food was fantastic. This time I ordered the California Lobster Roll and it was very good. My sister in law got the New England and it was great. Now the issues, the waitress wasn't very friendly. She seemed to be stressing out and the only time after taking our order did we see her, was when she dropped the check at our table. I'm leaving her name out of this review because maybe she was just having a "bad day." Maybe if she see this review, she'll know who she is and "lighten up" The best food and atmosphere. Chef Michael & Team deserve a hand.
This restaurant is amazing!!!!!!! It’s my birthday this weekend and Nicole was our waitress. She made our experience exquisite… The Maryland lobster roll was amazinggggg and to top it off we met the chef!!!! He was an absolutely amazing person. The food the ambiance the hospitality!!!! It was just one of the best experiences my husband and I have ever had. Thank you so much Jackson Hall this first experience was one to remember and I’m looking forward to our next!!!!! Thanks Nicole you are appreciated!!!!!!
Great Food, Even Better Service at American Jackson Hall Had a fantastic dinner at American Jackson Hall and wanted to shout out Terrell, our waiter, who took great care of us. He was attentive without being overbearing, super friendly, and made great recommendations. We started with a few appetizers, and honestly, we could have stopped there because the portions were huge. The Crab Cakes, Bang Bang Shrimp, Fried Calamari, and Lobster Bisque were all delicious, but the Bang Bang Shrimp really stood out—crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. For the main course, we went all in on the seafood. The Lobster and Crab Roll was packed with fresh seafood, the Lobster Bomb was a fun (and messy) treat, and the Seafood Pasta Diavolo had a great spicy kick. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. One thing that really impressed us was that the chef actually came around to check on tables, which you don’t see too often. It showed they really care about the experience, not just the food. Overall, great spot with solid food and even better service. Will definitely be back!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Jackson Hall in East Islip is hands down serving the best lobster rolls on Long Island. The lobster is fresh, the portion is generous, and everything is perfectly seasoned. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. The atmosphere is great, service is friendly, and the food comes out quick. If you’re a lobster roll fan, this place is 100% worth the trip. Easily one of my favorite spots on Long Island.
Went to Jackson Hall for the start of restaurant week. The service is fantastic. The food was delicious. We got the mussels with lobster sauce and bang bang shrimp to start. Both very flavorful. Got the lobstercado salad that was not skimp on lobster AT ALL. My sister enjoyed the lobster risotto with shrimp but we do wish the risotto was not so thick. The giant margarita was amazing for the price. My sister enjoyed the smoked old fashion as well. Will 100% return.
Our server, Nicole, was awesome from start to finish - very attentive and knew what she was talking about. Food was great, you definitely get what you pay for here. The chef even came around to see if we were enjoying our meal. A lot of things on the menu we wanted to try, but just didn't have the room, so we will definitely be back to try other stuff.
Came here for lunch. There are wide varieties of items to choose from for price fixed lunch menu. I got a side house salad for 1st course, which is a huge portion! My husband got lobster bisque, which came with big chunk of lobster meat!! For 2nd course, I got chicken penne alla vodka. It’s delicious and again huge portion!! I had to take almost half of meals back home. Friendly waiter, great service, reasonable lunch, good quality food, highly recommend it!!
Went to dinner here to try it out. My gf heard all about their legendary lobster meals. I will say, they did not disappoint. We ordered the lobster bomb and a lobster roll. Both were amazing. The amount of lobster stuffed into both was excellent. We were full and even had to bring home some leftovers. Thats not something I've ever had to do a seafood restaurant. The price was also very reasonable for what we got. I highly recommend going here if your in the mood for lobster. I will definitely be back.
I ate here for the first time today and was completely blown away. I had what was possibly one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten in my life, their ‘Lobster bomb.’ It was a hollowed out, crispy bread bowl filled with an outstanding lobster bisque and piled high with quality jumbo chunks of lobster meat. Everything about it was perfect and I cannot wait to go back to order this again. On top of the meal, our server Josh was exceptional. He went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of amazing. I’m mad at myself for never hearing about this place but will be making it a point letting everyone I know this restaurant is special. Can’t wait to go back!!
It was good, will try again but did not live up to what I thought from the IG posts. the spicy crispy lobster roll was neither spicy or crispy it was just a good lobster roll, the burger was a good burger but there was a dead fly on the container or coal slaw. I would say the lemon. chicken was the best thing we good, the chicken was good but the artichoke risotto was excellent!
Its a cool loud place with high who food Its was super busy and super fun Oh the lobsters rolls are out outstanding Drinks great and well made , bat was hoping can wait to try it out Kind of place with tons of repete customers Packed all the time Parking a bit of a mess park next door in the bank We did the prefix worth every dime
Calamari was decent but was good with thai chili sauce. Grilled chicken nachos are very very good. Some of the best nachos I've had in a long time. Marinated skirt steak didn't taste marinated at all. Wasn't seasoned too. I had to salt and pepper it myself. It was cooked to order though, medium rare. Mashed potatoes were good with the demi glaze. The asparagus was over priced for how many you get imo and didn't really taste sautéed. Maryland lobster/crab roll was good but only after adding butter as it was dry from what I was told. Lobster bomb is just ok. Service was good. Waitress, Megan, was always passing by and refilling drinks. Issue was appetizers was brought to table maybe less than 10 minutes after ordering 👍. However, entrees took 30-40 minutes and by that time we were no longer hungry for the most part 👎👎. Definitely recommend making reservations as the restaurant is very busy.
We've been wanting to try this place, but decided a Friday wasn't the best time due to crowds, so we arrived on a Tuesday for dinner. Surprisingly, it was packed. No parking in the parking lot, people were parking on Main Street, the side street & probably the neighboring parking lots. We had a 20 minute wait time, they took our cell # and texted us when the table was ready. The wait time was accurate. There is a nice patio area where you can dine, and even bring your dog (they have a doggy menu!), but it was a misty rain, so today was not an option. Large bar area and the restaurant presented as very clean. The hostesses were pleasant. Our server brought over a bread basket with sweet butter and took our drink order. For an appetizer we ordered the Burnt Brisket ends. They were very good, but beware - they are tossed in a habanero bacon jam and are HOT!! For dinner, my husband had the Tomahawk Pork Chop, which was in a vodka sauce and parmagiana. It was a huge portion and very good. They have 8 - yes, EIGHT different Lobster Rolls. I had the Maryland Lobster & Crab Roll. One of the best rolls I've had, and I'd like to eat my way through all 8 rolls! They are served with French fries that are tossed in old bay, so they have a little kick, but they're very good. The only negative is how loud this place is. And it is LOUD. It's hard to hear your own conversation. We laughed to ourselves how it could be so loud when people should be eating LOL They have a really nice menu, with a good variety; we will absolutely return.
Not our first time here but the first time we had Josh as our server. The food is constantly pretty good, but Josh made our meal remarkable by suggesting two dishes that made us both smile, delivered with affable demeanor and personal anecdotes. We started with French onion soup that was among the best we’ve had. I then had lobster ravioli with copious chunks of lobster strewed on top in a very nice sauce. Kinda rich, but really, quite a satisfying huge portion. My wife had boneless ribs on a sandwich, which she enjoyed very much. All in all a great lunch complimented by our new favorite chef turned server, Josh
My friends and I went to dinner here tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday. All of us being from the town of Islip, we enjoy supporting local restaurants but service and food here has been inconsistent over the years. We were a party of 8 with a reservation. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly and about half the restaurant was full. The waitress did take some time to get our orders and we had to ask for things like some of our drinks multiple times but after ordering our meals we waited at least 40 minutes for bread to even arrive at the table. Not even five minutes later our meals arrived, several of which had issues. All three burgers were overcooked, buns burnt on the insides. Two burgers were incorrectly and inconsistently assembled. The chicken francese had warm pasta but lukewarm chicken. The fries accompanying at least one of the burgers were stale. We were able to get some of the food corrected but ultimately asked to speak to the manager. We waited 15-20 minutes for her to come over and when she did, she presented us with the check. We denied it and expressed our concerns and she said she would see what she can do. After waiting for at least another 10 minutes, she came back and told us she removed 2 drinks and 2 meals. We had no complaints about the drinks. Upon looking at the receipt, we discovered the drinks were amongst the cheapest items we ordered. All of this went down while the executive chef spent at least 40-60 minutes talking to the table next to us. He did a short walk around the restaurant but we were ignored, despite attempting to get his attention. Once he finally left that table, we came to find out from one of the members of that party that someone with them works at News 12. It's clear he devoted his time discussing his ideas and his food to get the positive attention while his kitchen suffered. We are all highly dissappointed with this experience.
Wanted to come here so badly after reading about in Newsday and seeing the lobster roll in article. So was very disappointed in the quality and taste of food. First had bang bang shrimp that tasted way too greasy and had terrible after taste. Then for main dish had lobster mac and cheese, was not cooked enough, not enough breadcrumbs, tasted like Velveeta and only two VERY small pieces of lobster in it. The worst part is I brought someone, I recommended the restaurant and was quite embarrassed after the person I was with complained of stomach ache on way home and we had to pull over. I gave the staff 3 stars because the girls upfront were very kind , forget the waitress, because I think she forgot us a few times. The place was very loud . I dont like bashing but when you spend good money you expect better.
