Best bread I’ve ever had with eggs. I couldn’t stop eating! Turkey bacon cooked to perfection. Even the salad had a simple and delicious dressing with pickled onions. It’s so hard to get in during summertime so if you can go during the winter, do.
Visited the Little Gull during a week long stay in town and I'm so glad we stopped in! Such an adorably curated, cozy spot. Plenty of parking and easy to find, with great staff and good coffee. We had breakfast on a quiet summer morning and their egg sandwich was perfectly oozy and rich. We brought home blueberry pancakes and there was enough for 2. Really fair prices and great vibes.
This might be the best breakfast on Long Island. The sourdough pancakes are fabulous - soft but with a great bite. The sausage is unique and tasty and the bacon had all the great bacon flavor without being too salty. The Little Gull Rolls use on the breakfast sandwich are light and fluffy, but holds everything together. The scrambled egg and cheese sandwich was incredibly fluffy throughout. Hash browns are very crispy, like they should be. Coffee is great. And the house-made biscuits. I'll keep coming back for those alone. They're not as tender as a proper southern biscuit, but the flavor is there. And it's the best I've found on Long Island by a huge margin. The space is tiny, but quaint and cozy. While the service on my first visit was a bit slow, it was perfectly timed on the second. Both visits I arrived at opening, and the 21 indoor seats fill almost immediately. Third visit: I arrived an hour before closing, waited to be seated, and got my food 1:15 later. Fried chicken sandwich is good with bacon, though I bet it would be even better on a biscuit. I would have tried it, but they were out (not too surprising). Lemonade is just sweet enough, and tastes freshly squeezed. I like it sour, so I this was great. Fourth visit I tried the pumpkin pancakes. It tasted strongly of pumpkin puree, with a dense moist texture. They were okay (though certainly high quality) but my least favorite thing I've tried.
Went with my mom to start off our mommy-daughter day and we were confused at first from the outside. But as soon as we walked in, we loved it. The staff let us choose our table, they came to our table to get our order without us having to wait for too long, and we got our food pretty quick after ordering; and it was DELICIOUS. We loved every moment of the experience and we can’t wait to make the trip out there just to eat at the Little Gull Café again! Also convenient for people traveling by the LIRR as there is a station right across the street.
One of our favorite spots! Best pancakes and hashbrowns…everything is actually delicious. The space is in an old train station. Cute little restaurant with a few tables indoors and, in warmer weather, there’s a few tables outdoors as well. Fire beer on tap too! Sometimes a short wait to be seated but 100% worth it :)
High welfare personal chef here 🙋🏽♀️ I got the breakfast sandwich with an over hard egg, American cheese, the house made sausage and added sautéed greens—to go. Easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. First time there. Service is a little slow but understandably as they are very popular and very small. Do not expect to be greeted and seated when arriving as the waitresses are constantly running around serving people and there wasn’t a hostess. Will be back next season!
If you are ANYWHERE remotely close to this adorable little gem, GO! Absolutely incredible food with a sweet and attentive staff. Can’t wait to come back again soon! We had the BLT, pancakes, burger, and breakfast sandwich and all were delicious.
Hands down the best breakfast I’ve had in years. Everything is extremely fresh. The egg sandwich and the pancakes are incredible. Awesome little spot with incredible food and service. 12 out of 10!
The best pancakes I’ve had in a long time, maybe ever. The BLT was on thick slabs of perfectly crunchy bread. All for a great price. You might miss it but it’s in what was the LIRR ticketing office at the Speonk stop. Friendly service. Laid back good vibes. Has quickly become a regular spot in the lunch rotation.
What a wonderful addition to the area! This spot has everything you could crave for breakfast/brunch/lunch & more! It has great ambience. Such a fun vibe, always busy, clean, and friendly (Toni & Vann are truly a superstar dynamic!). I’ve already been by 3 times since I heard about it and I tell everyone I know to check it out. The food is truly top of the line and something like this was much needed. It takes you to another place and makes you want to come back with your loved ones! Can’t wait to come back many more times to try other new items on the menu. Good luck & thanks!
Delicious breakfast in Speonk at a converted railroad station turned restaurant: Little Gull Cafe. All bread is baked on site. The owners were so sweet and gave us a Long Island Railroad history book to look at when we inquired about the history. We will definitely be back.

This little neighborhood diner is truly a gem. You can taste the love in every bite. The ingredients are local, the bread is baked fresh, and the food feels like home. Since it’s gone viral, weekends can mean a wait—but it’s worth it. Be patient, be kind, and remember the staff is working hard to serve everyone. Come with an open heart and an open mind, and you’ll see why this spot is so special to our community.
One of the best little cafes on LI. Worth the trip. Love how tucked away it is, and the history of the building. You must try the remsenburger and the pancakes!
Went last night for dinner, which is always nice to try and catch because they don't always have dinner service. Everything was so delicious. My husband and I split a farm greens salad, I had the fish sandwich & my husband had the pickle dog. Everything was super flavorful and well made. This fish was fried to perfection and the tartar sauce on the side was soo good! When we went there was live music that was at the perfect noise level. You can hear the tunes loud and clear but can still have a conversation. The pacing of the meal was nice and relaxed. Staff was accommodating and friendly.

Food is high quality best I've seen on long island. Very charming setup.Very amazingly delicious food. JUST MESMERIZING! I wish they would use imported ketchup from Canada or Europe so it wouldn't contain corn syrup but love that its in a glass bottle. Coffee is Superb! Pancakes the best ive had in 30 years. Bread is freshly made by themselves. Bread was soggy on Philly cheese steak, table not clean, no spoon or wooden stick given with coffee to mix milk They need a busboy/busgal, Clean garbage around dumpster even if its not there's. Its your restaurants view. , powerwash patio. Thank you for the lovely food and experience ❤️

Absolutely delicious and 10/10 recommend IF you are going on a weekday. Don’t bother on the weekend though! Long waits, super slow and service gets overwhelmed. Came w/2 ppl on Sunday and quoted 20-30 min wait for a table - no problem. Sadly we only started eating 2 hours later: 1 hour waiting for table, 1 hour waiting for food. Any requests (as simple as water and utensils) were bafflingly always forgotten about, follow ups were not even met with an apology… The table next to us had to request their food to go it was taking too long. Luckily I had lots of time to kill today and the banger food made up for my hangry mood.

The place was really beautiful and my partner and I had a great time enjoying our food. We got the sour dough pancakes and they were delicious and the whipped butter on top was amazing. The drinks we had gotten( I believe the peach mango tea and the sparking lemonade) were also very refreshing and light and helped to balance the heaviness of the pancakes. Only issue was that it took about 45 minutes for the food so the wait time was a bit long but besides that everything else was very good.

This place can benefit from having a better chain of command. One girl was simultaneously the hostess and server, while also taking calls and helping other staff - but she did so with a smile on her face and was incredibly kind. The staff did their best among the flood of customers waiting, and I can only hope they’re all being compensated more than fair. For the food itself, it is clearly all fresh and made to order, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything particularly outstanding - I personally wouldn’t go out of my way for their dishes. During peak season, expect to wait a while, but be considerate if you choose to dine with them - they are all handling a lot at a time.
Finally got to this cafe after reading so much about it and was sadly disappointed. First off the food IS GOOD, that's NOT the problem. The problem was the WAIT and that was NOT the server's fault but the kitchen. Two orders of pancakes, an omelet and a burger should NOT take an hour especially when the place isn't filled. Then there's the grime... We sat outside. The windows and siding were covered with dust (acid rain residue?) Frankly, that's easy to clean off with some siding spray and a hose... but it wasn't. I know the owner is looking for a casual atmosphere (weathered paint, old eclectic tables and chairs, a dimly lit interior) I get that, but the exterior SHOULD BE clean, and that does a tremendous disservice to an establishment that serves nice meals. Suggestions... close early one day, wash down the outside, & get more kitchen help (one more person would do) It's a great old building (an old LIRR train station) but it needs some TLC

1st I will respond to the "owner"/THEN BE sure to READ my review- response: No not a bot or ai nice try, I am that guy who was there with my fiancé and we were disgusted by how you run this place, I clearly outlined our experience and. You can act like I am a ai bot but I told you I would be leaving you a review and you asked me "why would I do that". really? smh you should not be in the restaurant business or hospitality until you go through some indepth behavioral skills and proper etiquette all around. MUST READ BEFORE CONSIDERING! A FRIDAY! I drove to see how the place looked before taking my partner out the following day, since they seemed to be closed mid day on a Friday due to lack of customers. The girl was sweet but they seemed to not have anything to drink but diet root beer and explained the kitchen will not take any more orders bc they are all going on break soon. I thought it was a joke but realized she wasnt, so I smiled and figured okay no big deal maybe tmrw will be a better day. So the following day, My partner and I took the drive all the way out here on SATURDAY. AGAIN they close from 2 - 5 on a cheap post it.. so we walked around this empty closed down town for a little until then. When we returned, the service was ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS! we were "greeted" with an attitude seemingly because the young man who (explained he owns this place) was some how over whelmed, the first FIVE things we asked for they did not have. We tried to keep our spirits high and figured maybe they are just under pressure because of lack of consistent business? AND NOW we know why bc - When we finally got our food after THIRTY SEVEN MINUTES!! and keep in mind there was maybe four tables with people ..we ordered an app to munch on and two dishes -the food was absolutely disgusting ...The person behind the bar was pouring a bottle of wine into another opened bottle of wine which I truly thought was disgusting, and the FORKS were DIRTY!! come on!! That was it for us.. we ordered the check didn't want to send the food back in fear of some kind of retaliation if we asked to return the dish for something else, also at this point we understood these people do not care about quality cleanliness or professionalism....THERE IS NO CHANCE this is a repeated business type of place to eat or drink. It is truly disgusting not only the unprofessionalism but the food and lack of customer care in ANY capacity. We tipped this extremely poor quality experience because we don't believe in going out and not tipping even if it's not what expected. I dont leave comments much unless I really enjoyed it, but with this I was duped by these phony reviews. BC THESE other 5 star ratings HAVE TO BE family and friends !! because there is NO SHOT this is even close to a TWO star experience. 100% 1 star for service, 1- experience, prices are outrageous for the absolutely terrible food quality, and I gave it 3 for atmosphere for what I felt this place Could be.
Nothing positive to say. The "Waiter" forgot our silverware, gave us the wrong order and the main reason I went there was for the biscuit. This was THE WORSE biscuit I've ever had; could not eat it. It was full of salt and just not well-cooked. Most restaurants, out of courtesy, would refund the customer.for that one item..not this place. I paid $52 for breakfast and it might very well be the worse $52 I've ever spent. I spent the next few days in Southampton and thankfully, had delicious meals. This place needs a serious overhaul.

Staff is so inexperienced, simply dont know how to run a restaurant. They serve eggs, but dont make a Western Omelet... REALLY. We sat at the counter, waiting for our food, looking into their cooking area, directly in front of us, 2 feet away, was the cash register, and a lady folding cloth napkins for the entire time we were there. Between the staff ringing up sales, and the napkin lady it was very uncomfortable talking with my family while they were in our face. Service was sooooo slow, we had to leave after 40 minutes. When its breakfast time, usally youre Hangry... The owner responded with a curt response, "NO IT'S ONLY 32 MINIUTES SINCE YOU PLACED THE ORDER" ... she forgot it took 8 miniutes to get our order. After we left, the owner ran out to the parking lot apologizing... I said, sorry, to late, and your attitude sucks. " ONLY 32 MINUTES " My sister reminded me that we had the same problem last time we were there. It's a nice place, great location, just needs better management.
