Applebee's hosted our first ever pancake fundraiser and it was a complete success! Manager, Greg, was organized, patient, and helped direct all the youth that participated as greeters, servers, and clean up crew. Will definitely plan for another event at this location. Thank you, Applebee's!

Manager on duty on the 12 of May was on point! I haven't seen a manager be so hands on to help his staff when they're short. Resolved issues immediately and offered apologies to other tables having issues. Very friendly and well spoken, and was very respectful! This manager deserves recognition! He made everything run smoothly and on time even while missing employees. 10/10 recommend to go for the great service and food!

Stopped by for a dinner with my family and was very impressed. Justin S., our server, was very attentive and courteous. The 2 for $30 special (Sirloin and Ribs) was great as were the desserts. We will definitely be back. It was a very enjoyable dinner.

...nothing excites my appetite more after a horror movie(there is legit a Cinemark Theatre right behind this Applebees), than a steak! After the movie. I dropped in, enjoyed a couple of their Dollar margaritas and from their lunch special, ordered their 6 oz sirloin and doubled up on the brocoli! It was the perfect pairing of drink and food. Service was fantastic(as for Erika), and her service was on point! Give this Applebee's a try next time you are on Trenton, near Jackson Rd in McAllen, Texas, drop on by!

Husband & I went after he got off work (21 days at sea). Super nice atmosphere, even on a Friday night, it wasn't too crazy. Our waiter was swamped but he was very nice. We just had appetizers and drinks and it was really good. Only - is that my watermelon margarita was all lemon and patron and my regular margarita was the exact same margarita....super lemony.

I had the six once Ribeye, mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. The Ribeye was super tough, potatoes were almost cold and broccoli was okay. This place was not busy but it took thirty minutes to receive our order. We let the waiter know our dissatisfaction. So the manager to replace steak with another item. I said no. She gave us a dessert instead. I was very disappointed.

I've always found Applebee's to be good and enjoyable when I'm there, but not quite good enough to be first choice when I'm trying to decide where to go. It this case my steak was tasty but just that teeny bit less tender than the competition, and the background music was fine, except that one song about wanting to "kiss your a**" that was inappropriate in a family restaurant at dinner time. Still, the spinach artichoke dip was wonderful, as were the veggies. UPDATE: My wife and I went today and found it was "burger Monday." $8.99 for any of their burger plates is a good deal. Updating experience since it has been some time being here. They have turned it around. New flooring, upgrade to decor and the food taste better. They do a great job supporting vets on veterans day and all year. Management should be very proud on turning this place around and bringing back that neighborhood experience. Terrible experience, the restaurant was not even half full, very, very, slow service, all you can eat was ridiculous when it takes 20 minutes to get a refill. Manager never came to table. Very disappointing.

The food was good, the service was really good pur waiter would go and check up on our drinks very often so I really like that. The atmosphere at firat was very quiet, but then lunch hour hit and it got full real quick, however, I will say the food took about 40 mins to come out and because we were on lunch from work, we were given an hour an half lunch which does not happen that often, we ate quickly so we could make it back to work on time. Other than that it was great😊.

Incredible service from the waiter, prompt service and an interesting technique of saran wrapping the food before dropping it off at the table. Personally seems over the top and unnecessary, but others find it to be a precaution for maintaining food integrity between the kitchen and the table. No complaints about the food itself or speed of service, but I swear I contracted something from the restrooms.

We just discovered their 3-6pm happy hour. My wife and I were able leave with full stomachs and two adult beverages for less than $26 including a tip. The food is about average but it is cheap. The staff was friendly enough, not as much as I would like but our server was pretty attentive.

Visited on a Sat around 5pm. No wait time to be seated. There was a drip of water falling from the a/c vents where we were sitting. We asked to be moved and the manager relocated us promtply. Appetizers came out first so i always appreciate that. The main courses were brought out in a timely manner. I tried the cheeseburger with the 2 for $25; definitely noticed the patty was smaller. Fries were plentiful and fresh though. The tropical twist drink was delicious. I would recommend this place.

Anahi the bartender took forever to take make my drink had to wait 10 minutes till for my drink to arrive when it was something simple and person name tana idk if that was manager did not to help with the process at all it wasn't even packed their was hardly any ppl I would assume the drink would have been ready I was last to get my drink. The waitresses was good nice and checked on us that was nice she apologized for the wait on my drink she tried at least to get it I thank you for keeping my updated got my drink for me.

Applebee's has never been my go-to restaurant. I've always found their food to be mediocre. I went in because I had a gift card lol. My visit went great. They seemed pretty busy. Even so, our waiter was very attentive. The food was alright. The only problem was our stale chips from our appetizer.

I came here on the night of May 9, 2021. For starters, we got drinks, which was 2 shots of 1800 silver, the perfect Margarita cocktail, and then captain Bahamas mama cocktail. Both were good. When the waiter came back to bring plate and silverware, I ordered food and it was at 12:07pm. I Ordered boneless wings app with honey pepper as flavor. I personally never had these before. Menu said it was a new flavor and the waiter said it was similar to sweet Asian Chile. The wings were delicious. I also ordered the brew pup pretzels and beer cheese dip app. I wasn’t fond of the dip and the pretzels were okay but definitely not one of the best. Felipe was our waiter. He was attentive. My bf ordered the French onion soup. The cheese wasn’t melted and it looked nothing like the picture. He didn’t like it and sent it back. We were not charged for it. We got 2 shots of 1800 before leaving. Overall, not a bad experience. It is Applebee’s, after all. Even though the state doesn’t have a mask mandate, the restaurant requires it and staff were wearing mask.

Place is nice and clean, employees are friendly but last visit I order a salad with crispy chicken and the chicken was totally dry, I'm patient and I just ask the waiter to have extra chicken to replace the one that it was dry, the manager in charge came and apologize and told me that it would take a few minutes to get the chicken and I said fine, I can wait. I waited for more than 15 min until I decided just to pay my ticket and get out of there, very bad service at this time.

It is extremely cold in there and when we wanted them to lower the AC they said "everyone complains about how cold it is" they do nothing about it. I ordered the ribs like i always do and they were either days old or extremely dry it was very hard to pull the meat off of the bone. I told the waiter and they happily brought me another batch of ribs. Great service but the cold temperature really gets in the way of enjoying the food.

So it's been over 5 yrs since we've visited Applebees.. the last time I was awful. This time was pretty good. I had a safe plate. Chicken breast, broccoli and mashed potatoes. The sides were yummy. The chicken was slightly a little too salty, but still edible. My husband had a burger that was pretty good. Overall a decent experience.

We waited for almost an hour for our server to come take our order. She came to our table and asked if we wanted our ticket I was like noooo you haven't taken our order yet. People that came in after us were already eating. When we finally got our food everything came out separately for everyone. We all did not enjoy our food at the same time. My husband was the last to eat and his steak came out first then like when he was about to finish his steak he finally got his shrimp. I do want to mention that when I was looking around trying to figure out who was gonna take our order I saw someone who seemed to be the manager who quickly disappeared after I asked the hostess who was going to take our order and when. She quickly responded with, "They still haven't taken your order?" Bad management and bad slow service. And I still left the server a tip.

I stopped by here with my mother elderly mother about a week ago. I had never been to this location. It was not that full. There was plenty of room on the east side and the server told me I couldn't sit there because I didn't have a reservation. So he set us on the wet side where apparently there was a leak. There were tons of buckets and water was coming down in a specific area. I told him I didn't want to sit there with my elderly mother and he said the only thing he could offer me was two tables down in the same area. I asked them why I couldn't sit on the east side and he said I didn't have a reservation which was ludicrous to me because the place was half empty. It was only about 1:30 in the afternoon but because my elderly mother had not eaten I didn't want to leave so I sat in the area. The location was terrible. I was not happy that I was not allowed to eat on the other side. But like I said, my mother needed to eat so I didn't have a choice. I will say this. The young lady that helped me out and helped my mother out was very nice and extremely courteous. I have no complaints there and the food was great. My mother really enjoyed her ordering but that location should have been closed while the leak was fixed My mother is 80 years old. She had to cross through a couple of buckets and a big sign that said wet area and I looked to the east side and there were tons of empty booths it just made no sense especially when I dropped almost $70 for lunch. But I'm not one to make scenes. I don't get angry in public and I don't like to argue in places where I'm going to eat so I left it alone but I was disappointed

Mango tea didn't taste like mango and Caesar salad terrace was old and brown. My mash potatoes were cold in the middle.

Sorely disappointed with the holiday menu. I really wanted to have the fish with would have been extremely easy to accommodate. Unfortunately they wouldn't. The whole thing would have been fried so not difficult. I travel for work and was unable to shop for a proper thanksgiving dinner. I also have some dietary restrictions so unfortunately green beans are the only thing I'm having for dinner as all the groceries are closed. I probably will not return because it would have been simple to put frozen fish into a fryer and they could be bothered.

Came on a Sunday afternoon, there wasn’t a lot of people in the restaurant. The staff was friendly. However the kitchen was the worst. We had 5 people ordering good. It took a long time to get our food and when they finally can out they only had 2 orders, then we waited at least another 7-10 and they brought 2 more orders we were still waiting on the 5th plate of food to come out . Finally at least five minutes after that we got our last plate of food. My husband ordered all you can here and got 3 orders, the last one took so long to get we were all waiting to leave by the time it came out. We ordered 2 kids meals and both were so bad my kids wouldn’t eat it. One was a quesadilla, the tortilla was super Crispy over cooked and the cheese was still cold. It was a big disappointed and won’t be back to this location.

Late night meal with family. My husband and I always come to Applebee's after 9pm this time was a bit after 11pm and we come here for half price appetizers and half price margaritas..but I guess it depends on what waiter you get...we have to check our recents now like tonight. Waiter charged me $7.49 for my margarita, so I asked about the sun-thurs after 9pm specials, she said no..I told her ," ma'am we always come after 9pm for this reason". She asked the manager..he said half price is only after 11pm... we got there after 11pm and got charged at 12:08am and they still didn't correct it. 😕 I will never know the truth!? What are the facts!? You got signs everywhere stating the specials and manager is saying something completely different..half price after 11pm!?! This will be our 2 time this week we have gone and it's either waiters don't know specials and don't charge correctly..maybe we shouldn't go anymore..specials pfffttt what specials I'm being charged still at regular price. 😒 fyi---always check your receipts.

Adviced host I would be needing a high chair, for my daughter, before being seated. And he acknowledged it and asked us to follow, once seated we placed our drink order and appetizer order. Once our drinks came out we asked AGAIN for the highchair and we were told they could not place a highchair in the area we were seated because it was a safety hazard for them. They then offered to move us tables to section where it was allowed but if we moved there would be a wait time, until one was available. I don't know who was in the wrong the hostess for seating us there, knowing we were going to need a highchair, or the waitress not wanting to bring one. Overall made for a bad experience from the beginning of our visit, everything went downhill from there

Was highly disappointed tonight. I've usually gone and service is always great but I don't know what happened this time. We arrived and were checked up on immediately but once it was time to order our food it just became complicated. I understand it was a table of 8 and many of us wanted extra things but I was the last one to get my food. I waited more than 30+ minutes to receive my chicken salad which the girl completely forgot about till I reminded her. I finally get it and she tells me that some employees had been picking out of it and if that was alright. Was that alright!? I literally wanted to just get up and leave but I just waved it off since I was more worried about my brother and his order. I couldn't even finish my margarita that I had been craving for the longest time. Completely lost my appetite and left very depressed and unsatisfied. It's gonna take me a good while just to step foot at this place but I do hope next time I will have a better experience and employees don't pick out of my forgotten order.

Hello, I am a regular at your Applebees on Trenton in Edinburg, Texas. Tonight, I went alone, as per usual, and there was a new bartender whom I had met three time prior briefly. He was kind to me. I went outside to light a smoke after my second drink, something I regularly do. As I was outside I was approached by a clearly intoxicated homosexual man. I am a woman and my behavior with homosexuals and WOMEN is a little lighter and friendlier than it is with heterosexual (straight) men. I become more enthusiastic and girly. Unfortunately, the bartender tonight took that as a sign to use his own prejudices and assumptions for judgement. Later the night, the stranger man and I got in a disagreement, (leading us apart at the bar). I was offered a ride home by another "regular" customer whom described me as sweet and gentle. The bartender approached her during closing hours and spoke "I would not give her a ride, she claims she does not know that guy she is with but I bet they are on drugs", such a shame. A man whom I'd trusted my drinks with as an alone woman, accusing me of indiscretions and criminal activity after feeling I could finger dance in my chair politely and shamelessly. I have come many a services, but this is shameful itself. I applaud the day time visiting manager, behavior like this never happens under his management. I never would want to, but I will be contacting corporate over this defamatory comment.

The music was so loud playing Mexican songs that was fast. I ask to have the music turned down the waitress said the manager chose the music. We live in America. This is the first I have heard Mexican music in an Applebees. The chicken with shrimp had so mush garlic I was unable to eat. This was the worst experience to have. If u want to play Mexican music in an American restaurant play the calm music, love songs.

Service- Was very bad since the start. Our waiter was very rude and racist towards me and my family (We are mexican) We saw how she treated everyone around us and we asked one simple question about our bill she tried and change the rules and when I corrected her politely even if she was being rude and mean about everything we spoke to her with respect. She got told us that she couldn’t change anything she signed so loud and rolled her eyes and left. Instead of saying sorry she never can back out and her manger had to come she still made us wait to paid and we had to get someone’s attention. The manager needs to know about this because it’s not right at all. We will not be coming back. I feel bad for the other people that’s this happened to.

I'm afraid this Applebee's has seen better days. The service was lacking, we were being rushed from the time we entered to the time we left. The only bright spot was the new Grill dishes but the pasta was cold.

The portions have gotten smaller. And unfortunately you remember the really bad experiences like when I got rotten baked potato and mashed potato on the same day. They take the same amount of time with appetizers as with entrees.

The food was good as always… the service was ok… we went last night and I understand football Sundays can be very busy, but was like 9pm the restaurant was empty, just like 3-4 tables with people… but they had so many dirty tables with the floor super dirty not only with food but sticky… Also the restaurant was uncomfortably COLD, even the server was shaking and some other employees were wearing hoodies, I know here in the Valley is always hot, but inside of the restaurant feels like a freezer… we didn’t ask to talk to her the manager but we verbalize how uncomfortable the restaurant was.

Too cold! Guys, it's great to have air conditioning but you are blasting it full-tilt. Even your hostess is standing there wearing layers of clothes and a sweatshirt...IN AUGUST!!! She knows it's too cold! So why doesn't the manager know? It's summer, we came in summer clothes. It's too uncomfortable to sit there and freeze! As for customers, come only if you have a sweater or jacket.

My husband and I used to love to come here for the great deals on both food and drinks. We went this past Friday night and both ordered steak and both our entrees had to be returned not once but twice. The steak was completely raw. Do not order steak if you come here. I took my mother for lunch and it was fairly empty. The hostess wanted to sit us near the bar at a small table. We prefer a booth so we told the hostess our preference and her face just dropped. She seemed upset when we politely insisted on a booth, I guess they have a rotation so I'm sorry about that but I really like the booth. The waitress wasn't rude but she really seemed not happy to be serving us. We ordered garlic and parmesan wings for the appetizer and ten minutes later we got bufflo wings. We asked for what we ordered and 10-15 minutes later we got the garlic and parmesan, which were pretty good. Ten minutes after the wings we got our main course. I ordered my steak medium but it was well done. It was also very dry and I noticed that it was warm and not piping hot as is the norm at Applebee's. My mash potatoes and mac and cheese were also lukewarm and I realized that since they had to redo the wings, they waited an extra ten minutes or so AFTER we got the wings to give us the main course. The music they were playing was excessively loud and I would have asked them to turn it down a bit but at this point I had given up on this Applebee's. Next time I'll go to the Applebee's in Mcallen where they're friendlier and the food is cooked the way I like.

Our family went Monday night to have dinner when we arrived we got seated right away and waitress took awhile to take our order. We ordered 2 coffees, tea, water, and a beer... after about 10 minutes our drinks arrive... both coffee cups were half full .. we asked waitress for sugar since there was no sugar on any table... sugar never came we had to ask another waiter for sugar and to refill coffee since it was now cold... food came in a timely manner except for my husbands food... when we finally saw the waitress we asked for his plate and she said oh let me go check... food came when we were ready to leave and she was upset that we didn't want it anymore... I told her to pack it to go but that they should take it out of our ticket and she said no .. that if we weren't going to pay for it we were not taking it.. i said ok no problem... i asked waiter Cruz if i could talk to manager and he said no that manager was busy. He apologized for waitress and we left. Very poor service... and the fact that manager never came out was not good.

This is the worst service I have ever had! We ordered our meals, the onion rings and cheese stick were good and so was the salad. But when we got our chicken pramesan, it did not taste good and the chicken was chewy. We told the waitress she asked if we the same or something different. We chose something different. She gpt a menu and left. Waited over 20 minutes. I told her just charge us for what we ate. Goes again for another 15 minutes with a check. Had my card ready when she came back and then waited for card. I understand there other customers but we was there before them. I don't think we will go back to this one.

It was a very dirty place. It smells, and the front door was locked. I entered through the service door. Asst. GM didn't take any ownership. He stated that he was the asst GM and not THE GM.

Got there at 545 to get the special before 6 all 3 servers and managers were just standing around never took our order or even asked what we wanted to drink!! When I asked the server if she can call someone she made a face and rolled her eyes at that point we just got up and left we didn’t wanna risk them doing something to our food

This place was packed so it was very loud. My son's pizza was cold & bland and I kid you not, the wait accidentally spit on my plate as he was taking and trying to hand me my plate. 🤢 Not one person in my party enjoyed their food. Definitely a big waste of time and money.

Worst service ever we asked for our regular drinks a bucket and a margarita for me we come once a week to this location or the one in mcallen off expressway and today my waitress said she couldn't and i told her ok since when so we waited and still after half the bucket was gone she still refused to give me a margarita till the buck was empty and i told her mama this is the first time at either location has this never happen and her words to bad ....and now we're getting no service no if we need anything else nothing she just avoiding our table ....i couldn't even eat my food in peace .....didn't even eat just left my food and left poor customer service and attitude.....

Horrible service. Think our waiters name was Luis? so we waited forever and never got refills on the drinks, never got checked on. We placed a To-go order and he made a comment like wow that’s a big order. And it made us feel like we were inconveniencing him for placing an extra order. They ended up switching waiters a bit after, and when we brought up this issue to the other waiter we were made to seem in the wrong and were met with the excuse of “it’s because they have class after, school comes first to him”. Respectfully I get it, but as a customer that isn’t my problem what goes on in his personal life.. just our experience at the place he works at. Never coming back here again.

Came to the one here on Trenton and the service was pretty bad. The server was unattentive and it took a long time to get my order. Then when I got my order the chicken strips had very little drizzle of sauce not anything close to how the picture was. My friend's steak was well done when he asked for a medium rare. Because the long wait we just decided to eat because we're on short lunches. My mac and cheese that went under the chicken strips was very watery. I asked the server for more sauce for the chicken, waited a long time for it, and she brought me macaroni cheese sauce instead. Just really bad. Then after I paid she made me wait even longer to get my card info back while she was hugging some older gentleman in a cowboy hat and rubbing my card on his back which is not sanitary in my opinion.

We came here to eat and sat at an area where there was an inch of dust covering tables and chairs (yes, we were greeted by the hostess). The windows and the window sills were just as dirty. We were so grossed out we left. We waited about 10 minutes and were never even offered drinks. I won’t be coming here ever again. 0 stars for me.

I had to return the steak twice. It was all bloody and then they played it back in the same plate with all the blood around the mashed potatoes and the green beans real bad.!!!

Very dirty. You can see that they have not mopped with clean water in a long time. Smelled really bad when we walked in. Floors were sticky. Restrooms were stinky. Good was mediocre.

1/2 stars all around. Food was cold. Daughter ordered mozzarella sticks as a side and it came with a bug. They replaced the sticks as if my daughter didn’t gross out. This place needs a major update. It’s dirty and the ceiling looks disgusting.

I wanted to try that new hamburger in the creamy cheese. it came to the table and didn't look anything like the commercial. the cheese was just a very small amount of cheddar cheese. not creamy. It was served on one of those hot plates. I couldn't even get the hamburger off the plate. I got a salad with it and couldn't eat much of that either. it was frozen. tomatoes were chewy. the ranch dressing turned into liquid like milk. I told our server that it was ridiculous to serve food like that. told her I can't eat it. she told the cook and they took it off our bill. she asked if I wanted a to go box I said yes I will take the meat home for my dogs.

We were at your restaurant last night and had your new C M Cheeseburger.. what a mistake you advertise a cheeseburger, soaked in cheese on a platter, we got a cheeseburger, sitting in a little bit of cheese, and it was no runny cheese and not it wasn’t dripping. It was just hard as a rock. What a disaster cheeseburger was overcooked. I will never order it again and I will make sure everybody knows that it’s no good.

Horrible service and professionalism. I wasn’t allowed to bring my water bottle in, I bring it to every restaurant and I’ve brought to this location along with other Applebees multiple times. The rest of my table got served before me, when my food was brought out my pasta somehow tasted burnt, and when I got my new plate there were multiple hairs in it and the manager was still being apprehensive and rude. As someone who works in the food industry that is just embarrassing on y’all’s behalf .

Ate dinner there. Food was horrible. Stale wings and chicken. Almost like it was out of the freezer. Service was terrible. Waiter ignored us entire time, was talking to everyone and asking them what they needed. Only talked to us when we were done with are food. Needed a refill and not once did they ask. Overall terrible food and service.

ALLERGY WARNING: They use the same fryer for shrimp, fries, chicken, and all the fried appetizers. 2023 Update: WHY DID I COME BACK?!?! This one's on me. I came back and ordered the exact same steak plate. Ordered a medium well and got a grey rock of a steak. Got the old "the skillet is hot, it cooks on the way." WELL IF YOU KNOW THAT adjust for it. You're the cook. I shouldn't have to guesstimate the heat of the skillet, the length of time it'll sit in the kitchen before getting to me, for ME to time it to my table to arrive medium. Horrible food as usual, Applebee's, but service was still great. Photo of the leather steak cut in half is from tonight's visit. 2022: It's barely just okay, but I wouldn't go back. Not with so many other food options in the area. The service by Jacklyn was excellent. She was the best part of our visit. She gets 5 stars. The food wasn't amazing or anything to really return for. The steak had a lot of gristle for an 8oz and it was overcooked. The chicken was chopped up and probably regrilled to be served again because it wasn't served as a breast that had been simply sliced. It was tossed chopped and mixed with burning on some pieces. The mac was missing the bacon and even with the bacon added it wasn't good. The mashed potatoes were delicious as were the mushrooms that came with the steak. Maybe this sounds like expecting a lot from an Applebee's because it's not like it's Salt Grass, but I've been to other Applebee's and I've been served better versions of the same food. I wouldn't return to this location nor recommend it.

Salads should be served on a cold plate and not look like it's the bottom of the bag. I had to ask to bring me a real salad and they brought me another one but on a warm plate. I ordered pasta with chicken and the food was left on counter looked dried and chicken was hard. Waitress was sloppy and poured hot Alfredo sauce on my sons plate just because it was too hot and was boring her hand almost poured it on him. I have been to many Applebee's and this location is by far the one that stands out being the most horrible. Please educate your staff and hire qualified people to serve others.
