Pho Edinburgh

Had a wonderful meal and the service was brilliant. Josh was very attentive and had the initiative to bring the children's meals out when ready so they didn't have to wait until the adult meals were ready which was greatly appreciated. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

Always wanted to visit as Pho are CoeliacUK accredited, only 2 gluten containing items on menu. Great choice of food and flavours, and beverages. Chopsticks on the table but I understand knife fork & spoon available on request. Attentive service, not overbearing. Will visit again!!

Our first time having Vietnamese food and we had enjoyed it. Taj was friendly and we felt welcomed even though the restaurant was busy during a Friday night! Looking forward to coming back again.

We visited this Vietnamese restaurant today and the food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter, Lauren, was wonderful, incredibly kind, attentive, and truly dedicated to his work. We were blown away by the whole experience and highly recommend this place!

My partner and I popped in for lunch and now fully understand why there’s often a line outside and yes, we’d absolutely line up for this food again. We started with the pomelo salad and baby squid. Both dishes arrived quickly and packed a serious flavour punch. The salad was bright, zesty, and so refreshing, while the squid was perfectly cooked and tantalised the tastebuds right from the first bite. A surprising highlight was their TRIP mocktails; light, vibrant, and beautifully refreshing. They paired incredibly well with the bold, layered flavours of the food. For mains, I went with the fried rice topped with a fried egg, simple but done so well, bursting with savoury umami goodness. My partner had the spicy fish curry, and it was equally impressive; rich, aromatic, and just the right amount of heat. One of the unexpected stars? The house peanut sauce. We asked for it on the side, and it turned out to be mind-blowingly good; creamy, nutty, and addictive. Best of all, it’s complimentary! All in all, Pho delivers big on flavour, fast service, and those little touches that make a meal memorable. It’s easy to see why it’s so popular and trust us, it’s absolutely worth the wait. Compliments to the friendly waiting staff; Taj, Maily, Laila and Tom! As well the chefs!

One of the best Phó place I’ve been in, including Hanoi itself. Everything is in its perfect amount.. The spicyness, the portions and prices. Friendly and quick services. Please let me help you opening one in Reykjavik! Seriously👊🏾

The food was so good it warms the soul, and Inan our waiter was welcoming and excellent.

I frequent Pho in St James as the food is always good. My favourites includes the pork spring roll for starters and their curries both normal and spicy as well as the pork grill for main. It was also a nice touch that on my birthday, they emailed me with an invite to have free starter.

Love this place and the service is top notch! Every sunday we dine here for lunch and always get great, fast service. Every one is so kind and easy to approach, especially Laila. I would like to commend her for the great job she always do! Laila is quick, efficient and always makes sure we enjoy our meals. We also had free pho bowls as part of the Happy Pride month. Everything is delicious here, from the Pho to the spring rolls. Just delicious. Atmosphere is great with good lighting too!

Layla, our server, was great and really helpful. Our food took a while, but the manager handled it well. The baby squid, steak with garlic noodles, and beef noodles were all delicious. Definitely recommend!

Amazing place to eat and the restaurant was very clean, emil was very helpful and give the best service to us we love to come again at PHO.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Pho in Edinburgh St James’ Square! The reception was phenomenal, and everything we ordered was delicious! The manage Aurelia was so lovely and welcoming she really took time to explain Vietnamese culture and make our experience the absolute best! Highly recommend! The desserts were amazing too!

While walking through John Lewis Shopping Centre I was looking for another place to eat at, but I notice a place called Pho. I’ve been hoping to eat some pho, There was a small line up but thought we would give it a whirl. The food was Great, we had spring rolls and Pho. I always forget to take a picture before smashing my meal was super hungry. So the photos aren’t that great. The only down fall was the service, was way too slow. Probably understaffed as it was a Sunday at 2:00pm

First time eating in this restaurant, great service, great food and a very nice atmosphere . We will definitely be back .

I came in for a solo lunch trip between shows yesterday, and was served by a lovely waitress, Cerys. She was incredibly helpful in recommending vegan-friendly options (I wouldn’t have realised there was an option to have the vietnamese coffee black had she not pointed it out). The food was lovely and very filling - and not stingy at all on the protein portions! I would definitely return :)))

I enjoyed the food, it was a really nice experience and meal, Scarlet provided a really welcoming and kind service. I am 100% satisfied.

Great Vietnamese restaurant. The summer rolls and spring rolls are brilliant. I ordered the beef brisket pho, and I was very impressed with the amount of beef I was given. Great service. I’d highly recommend. I’ll be back!

We were a group of five and hadn’t booked a table, but Lauren was incredibly quick and helpful in finding us a lovely spot. From the moment she seated us to when we asked for the check, she was kind, attentive, and highly professional throughout. One of us is coeliac, and Lauren made sure to recommend suitable dishes with care, while also offering great suggestions for the rest of us based on our preferences. I had the chicken curry noodle soup, which was wonderfully warm, packed with flavour, and truly satisfying. The others ordered a variety of rice bowls, including chargrilled chicken thigh, the 3 meat combo, crispy beef in betel leaf, and wok-fried beef noodles, all of which were absolutely delicious and generously portioned. We’ll definitely be returning to try more dishes from the menu. A big thank you to Lauren for making our evening so enjoyable and for being a wonderful host!

Tyson our server was amazing! Very attentive and knowledgeable about food which is and is not coeliac safe. I appreciated his explanation of eating Pho and mixing things to enhance the flavours. It WAS a flavour bomb! So so delicious. We had beef brisket and the chicken Pho. Also had the chicken wings! So happy 98% of the menu if gluten free!

Love love !! We were served by Loic who was attentive to our dietary needs and provided great service. We found that wait times could have been an issue if we were in a rush (which we weren’t so no worries) as it was quite busy when we went (dinner time Thursday night). This is not an issue for us but maybe something to look out for if you have somewhere to be afterwards! As always, amazing food/ great value for money and lovely staff! Thank you :]

I booked this restaurant for three people. As soon as we arrived we received a warm welcome by one of the staff and we were given a table very quickly. Dhaksha one of the servers came over promptly to take our food and drinks order. The food and drinks arrived quickly and was delicious. Dhaksha was lovely and very attentive and we all felt very looked after during our visit. Will be returning again :)

We had a lovely time at Pho! Our group really liked the food and drinks. The service was great and efficient. Harley was our server and was very friendly and attentive. The staff treated the birthday boy with some extra dark chocolate sorbet ice cream which was a very nice touch ;) We will be back!

We went for a dinner on 14th night. Whoever cooking in the kitchen that night, they deserve a medal. The pho was so good that it was the best so far I’ve ever had with the restaurant. The noodle type was different from the usual that night but it was the best difference. I liked the noodle that night than the usual one. The soup, the taste and the noodle everything tasted so great. We also ordered stir fried morning glory and fish curry and needless to say it was delicious as well.

I am an Asian and Curry noodle is better than what I expected for an Asian taste bud. I think adding a creamy egg yolk as an extra topping made it better (maybe). Prawn pomelo salad is nice too. I was pleasantly surprised they carry Beer Lao. Out of all the good food and services, I want one thing as improvement - the kitchen smell and cooking smoke sometime too strong and as usual make our clothes smell when left the restaurant

The Steak & Garlic Pho was very good, and the optional bean sprouts were a good touch. Additionally, the portion size is on the more generous side, and you will not be disappointed. If you get here before 6pm on a weekday you are likely to easily get a table for small to medium group sizes.

I had a fantastic experience here. We tried both the spicy chicken pho and the classic chicken pho, and both were incredibly flavorful. The broth is clearly high quality, but what really took it to the next level was adding the 3 mushroom mix and pak choi as it added such a fresh and hearty crunch to every bite. Beyond the food, I was really impressed by the hospitality. The staff were welcoming and made us feel right at home. For the quality and portion size you get, the price was very reasonable for Edinburgh. It is the perfect spot for a healthy, delicious, and affordable meal. I will definitely be back.

Great restaurant with delicious food and amazing staff. Vido has made our regular visits feel like family. We love the pho soup here and we haven't tried anything that's not good. Team members are great, starting from the very friendly hostess to the entire staff and manager. We thank you for always accommodating us and our needs and make us feel so welcomed. Our daughter is recognized by name and made feel special at every visit. Can't give enough good words for the place. Thank you

Had the vegan fried rice and vegan fried noodles. Truly delicious! And the service was really lovely - We accidentally arrived 5min before they closed and the staff were still super welcoming. They patiently answered our questions around allergies without any rush or frustration. So excited to try more things on the menu!

Went here as a group of 4 for a birthday and everything was amazing! Staff was lovely and had a good chat with us and the food was delicious with good sized portions. We all tried different cocktails and they were also super tasty and refreshing! And to top it all off our birthday person got some free ice cream as the staff overheard us talk about the birthday which was also incredible! I want to thank everyone who served us today and for being such a good sport despite it being busy when we arrived :)

We had a great meal at Pho. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. Our waitress, Lucy, was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The only small downside was the waiting time, which was a bit long. Overall, a good experience and we would come back.

One of my absolute favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. I come here so often and it never disappoints. The food is always amazing , my personal favourite is the squid, honestly the best I’ve ever tasted. I also love the prawns summer rolls and the pomelo prawns salad, which are always fresh and full of flavour. I don’t eat meat, but both of my kids absolutely love their famous steak pho. And the Vietnamese coffee is a must every time I visit! Everything I’ve tried here has been consistently impressive. I’d also like to give a special mention to Vito, the general manager, who is always smiling and welcoming. His ability to recognise regular customers like me and even remember my favourite dishes really makes the experience extra special. I can’t recommend this place highly enough… amazing food and truly excellent customer service

Busy little restaurant at St James quarter, this is ideal for those who love fresh fragrant food. This isn’t to our preference however it would be unfair to rate fault on my preference in food as the food was still nicely presented and full of flavour. The beef brisket soup had amazing broth and noodles, the brisket was a little chewy for me however I can’t fault the dish. I loved the sea food spring rolls but wasn’t a big fan of the summer rolls, this is purely to preference I’m not a fan of cold peanut sauce or the texture of the rolls, if you love glass noodles you’ll like this though. I’ll certainly try something different another time as we ordered on a whim with no knowledge of Vietnamese food. Can’t fault the service either they do their upmost to keep everyone happy even difficult customers who are simply complaining about the price of water. Was absolutely happy to pay the service charge because of this.

The food was good, no real issues other than something coming out incorrectly, but was quickly resolved. We ordered the veggie soft rolls, prawn soft rolls, lemongrass meatball, steak pho, chicken and prawn stir fry noodles. The issue for us was service. We seemed to be the only table not greeted or taken care of. When we sat down, it took about 20 minutes to be acknowledged while our server (rainbow hair, didnt catch her name) greeted others, took orders. We got our food and she disappeared again. We waited for our bill 20 more mins before asking for someone else to help us. I am not sure what the disconnect was, but it ruined the dining experience, for sure.

The food was okay, but not great. Our food stayed on the counter to be served a good five minutes. Found onion peels in our bun and pho. As for my mango salad, the mango wasn't ripe at all, making it sort of flat in flavor. I wouldn't come back personally.

Thought I’d try this place out after seeing a few posts about it. Unfortunately, the food was pretty average nothing really stood out or gave that “wow” factor. I also don’t think I’d return, as it got busy and even when it was quieter, the staff weren’t very attentive. Overall, it didn’t quite live up to the hype for me.

The pho portion was delicious and filling. However, the service was very slow. And worse, the person working at the bar put the straw they had used to drink their cocktail back into someone's glass... Seeing this, I wanted to unfurl a banner that said ✨HYGIENE✨. The tables were generally wooden, so they absorbed grease and looked dirty.

The Arab guy with the ponytail was quite rude, impatient and hostile. A ruined experience. The waitresses were friendly tho. But don't expect high service even tho you're paying high prices. The service from the guy was the worst, you don't even get treated that way in Macdonalds. So, not going back there. We paid £52 total for 2 ppl starter and mains. Food was dry but ok. Atmosphere had loud music and usually very busy. For £50 I would've had the same nice food with far better service at Harvey Nichols.
