I recommend this place to anyone I talk to, it’s perfect for many occasions. It has great Swedish food, wonderful interior decor and so many great options. The staff are friendly and the food/coffee was amazing. Highly recommend!
Lovely indy coffee shop with amazing cinnamon buns and pizzas - according to my husband. Unfortunately, I can't have gluten or dairy, but the staff make every effort to accommodate me. Between us, they always come up with something tasty. Super friendly staff and speedy service. Dog friendly outside only. If only they had gluten free dough for their pizzas and cinnamon buns, it would be epic!!!
My first time visiting the Söderberg and they do nice coffee and cake and it's a very well presented place with friendly staff and nice cake. My son rated his cinnamon bun an 8 out of 10. My coffee and chocolate ball (chopped up by myself) were very nice.
This menu is incredible, would be perfect for a date. Especially love the cocktails selection. Staff were super friendly and made me feel happy and welcomed. My flatmate ordered a flat white and a bun and I ordered a ginger ale and a Kladkakka (Swedish chocolate cake). All 10/10! Lovely experience, recommend for a date, friend date or just a coffee!
I only came for a coffee and bun but was tempted by the meatballs. Delicious! Cozy atmosphere, especially in the evening. If I was staying longer in Edinburgh I would of come again. If you like Swedish food you'll love this.
Sodeberg has always been my go to place for good coffee and friends meet ups. They always have fresh bakeries and great ambience. Keep it up !!
Delicious food and drinks. It is a little pricey but the quality and taste of the food makes up for it. Would really recommend the omelette and waffles!
I came here late on Saturday evening. It was very nice, spacious and comfortable atmosphere. I have only had a coffee here but will certainly be back to try the food, which looked amazing! The coffee was very good, nice and hot.
It is a real pleasure to pop in anytime, and always receive a warm welcome and delicious treats!
This is my favourite place in Edinburgh for coffee and cake! The cinnamon buns are divine! They have also started having jazz nights on a Sunday which are relaxing with a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Wonderful Swedish breakfast in this moderne Swedish modern design restaurant Very friendly staff Nice plate of omelette and delicious salmon and lovely scones
Such a great and cozy cafe. Everything is excellent. Definitely get the cardamom and cinnamon rolls.
Great coffee and cakes from soderberg! Have only ever been in for coffee but has never disappointed, averagely priced and really friendly staff working here! The food looks pretty tasty too and a very open and comfortable feel to the coffee shops! There are 3 in close proximity to each other near the quarter mile in Edinburgh! So you are sure to find a seat amongst the 3!
Visited on for a jazz night. The atmosphere was amazing and our pizzas were just as good. The prices are on the expensive side though.
I love the breakfast and brunch here! Highly recommend their pizza, breakfast items, carrot juice (freshly squeezed) and coffee.
Nice modern Scandinavian spare/cozy hybrid design. Good place to meet up with friends or sit alone to read or work, or wait out a rainstorm. Friendly staff and uni-heavy crowd. First time I had a bottle labeled "Speyside Glenlivet" that was filled with...mineral water.
I love coming here for awesome pizza. A real treat! Always lovely service and good advice. Recommend!
Söderberg is an underrated hidden gem! They serve a great Swedish brunch, and their coffee is excellent. The staff were extremely friendly, and the service was quick despite it being quite packed. I definitely recommend you stop by!
Cute building, great service and great deal. We went for the Valentines 2 for 1 deal and got so much food but for a great price!! Good pizza, not the best pizza I've ever eaten (still absolutely delicious) and I loved the different toppings choices, very exciting.
This veggie sandwich was excellent! And the sweet buns with coffee, super tasty. I would definitely recommend this spot for a meal.
Always a fabulous cup of coffee in a lovely chilled out atmosphere. Highly recommend the blueberry buns!
I have visited many times for their delicious coffee, lovely cinnamon buns, and lunch but this was the first time meeting friends for dinner there. The pizza and salads were fantastic! Full of flavour and really tasty. My friend and I shared a salad & pizza and it was perfect. The wine was great too. Atmosphere is warm & service is attentive and friendly. Looking forward to visiting again!
My top choice for pizza in the city. Perfectly smoked salmon paired with creamy, rich mascarpone on a light, wood-fired sourdough crust. It's an elegant, balanced masterpiece that showcases unique, high-quality ingredients. Even though I was sitting outside, enjoying the Edinburgh air, I couldn't help but notice how incredibly cozy and inviting the interior looked. The warm lighting and welcoming ambiance promised a delightful experience, mirroring the sophisticated comfort of their food.
The food is excellent. The pizza is top class, and the buns are amazing too. (Disclaimer: I know the chef, but the review is unbiased)
We had a great time at Soderberg, very nice staff, good coffee and pastries. We even came back to see the live music on Sundays and try the pizzas which are very good too! Thank you for everything :)
There are only a few options for the evening menu (pizza and salad) Two girls sharing a pizza was enough for us. The crust was crispy on the edges but a bit too soggy in the middle (because of the tomato sauce) but was still a good pizza base. Each ingredient as a topping played a good role as themselves. My friend said the hot chocolate was not impressive at all😿 not rich enough and was quite bitter (2/5) But overall was a good dining experience in the evening
Very nice place with a quick service and cozy environment. £14 for bread with fried eggs tho…
Great. We were hoping for a hot lunch, but the chef was due to leave at lunchtime, so they could offer only cold food. The items we had were delicious though.
Food was great, and the drinks were delicious - fresh, homemade juices. We sat outside in the sun, and received great table service from the stuff. If you're in Quartermile, this is a great place to stop for a quick snack
Love this place - great venue and lovely outside seating bit for when the sun comes out, otherwise you feel very cosy sitting inside looking out through the walls of windows. The sourdough pizzas are amazing, the coffee is great, and they always have a wonderful selection of baking to tempt you to stay longer. Staff have always been very friendly and helpful as well, although I haven't been in the last few weeks so can't comment on how it might have changed like other reviewers have mentioned.
Nice brunch place! Friendly staffs and delicious bakery menus.
Server was very nice, the atmosphere is lovely, but the chairs aren’t very comfortable. The coffee and pastries were decent.
Stopped here for a bit of shelter during rainy weather and glad we did. Nice pasties and good cocktails
Atmosphere is very cozy and pleasant for people of all ages! The food itself is tasty and high quality, although a bit pricey. The sweet pastries are also quite good and the coffee is very nice.
Got the sourdough margarita pizza. Tastes ok but not so impressive. Chai Latte is also ok but not so impressive. Would be a nice place to go for lunch with friends and chat but not suitable for laptop working. No wifi.
Beautiful pastries and coffee, but pricey! I wouldn't make it my regular but I'll pop in from time to time for great coffee and a bun. There are indoors seating. I've never order hot food there but it looks delicious.
Came here for a brunch lunch date. We shared the sourdough pizza. Tasted pretty good but it was badly cut so we ended up using knife and fork. Oat flat white each. I did not like it and honestly make better coffee at home. My date did not mind it so that is probably personal taste. For dessert we shared a blueberry vanilla bun and a pistachio mazarin. The vanilla and blueberries were only on one side of the bun, so the other half was just plain bread and felt a bit dry. Flavour was good overall. Overall it was pretty good and the atmosphere is pleasant. The only downside was the water glasses, which were a bit dirty, so they could pay more attention to what is being served.
The atmosphere at Söderberg is calm and relaxing. My wife and I sat at a sofa facing a floor to ceiling glass wall, looking out on a quiet street. It's certainly an excellent place to just sit and watch the world go by. Unfortunately the drinks that we ordered were not as great as the vibe. We had a chai latte and a hot chocolate, and both missed the mark by quite a bit, feeling a little watered down. Perhaps the place is more well known for their pastries, which we will definitely try next time
Ordered a soy milk latte which was delicious, I regularly stop by the smaller Soderberg and they do a divine cinnamon bun that goes down very well with the coffee. This time though, as I was sitting in, I ordered an smoked salmon omelette. The salmon was lovely and definitely carried the dish as the omelette was quite rubbery, maybe a tad overcooked while the toast was rock hard. The location is fantastic but Soderberg is not dog friendly, which is a shame as I'd say it's a great place to finish a dog walk being just off the meadows.
Nice place but weird cuisine and cocktails. Swedish pizza ain't all that but the pastries were good.
Even though the staff is 5 stars, the pizzas are average and it was empty on a Thursday night. On the plus side, it's family friendly!
Lovely venue, we went there on a Saturday evening during the festival, so it was busy but not overly so. Unfortunately they may have been understaffed but the service was incredibly slow. We waited 30 mins just for drinks and about 45 for food. I don't mind waiting if somewhere is very busy but at least get the drinks out fast and say something like, 'I'm sorry we are very busy at the moment but please bear with us'. Apart from that food was fine but yeah, the service kind of ruined it a bit, also, there was no sense of urgency in the staff, they were all very chilled and just swanning around. Our server was lovely but yeah could all do with speeding things up a bit! We weren't the only ones getting frustrated, one couple just left and many people were getting visibly frustrated, the couple beside us were also served food but no cutlery.
The food when it eventually arrived was good . If you wanted Pizza thar arrived promptly but a salad and open sandwich took 45 minutes to arrive and that was after twice asking where our meal was . I will not be going back .
The food and pastries are always really good. It wouldn’t hurt if the staff were friendlier and more proactive.
The atmosphere in the place is lovely, but I have a couple of suggestions. I ordered a draft beer which turned out to be a sour lager not quite my taste. It would be great to have a more traditional, easy-drinking lager option on tap. Honestly, I’d have preferred even a pint of Tennent’s over the sour one. I also tried the salmon pizza out of curiosity. The combination of sourdough, cream cheese, mozzarella, salmon, and dill was certainly unique, but it felt a bit too heavy for me. I’d love to see an alternative salmon pizza on the menu perhaps with garlic butter, fresh onion, salmon, and just a touch of dill. I think that could be a lighter, fresher option that still celebrates the salmon. Thank you for the great service and welcoming atmosphere I hope this feedback helps!
The quality of the food will depend on the chef, today, the chef looked so unhygienic that we left. Its a minimum requirement to have a clean and tidy looking chef, and long unkempt hair down your back mostly falling out of a pony tail is not this, i blame the manager for not keeping the standards up, clothes were also dirty and dishevelled, not the look you want for someone placing food by hand onto a pizza, really unnecessary and disappointing and i love the atmosphere and the pizza from what i call the good chef (short dark hair and beard)
I'm tired of waiting 20+ minutes to be served even when they are not busy. They asked the table next to me, who arrived after me, if they were ready to order... No... But completely ignored me, who WAS ready, and then didn't come back to the area for over 10 minutes despite many efforts to get their attention. Not the first time... Nice place and good food when it comes but they are the opposite of pro active and attentive!
Not worth it im afraid. This is a bit of a tourist trap. Great location, and the coffee is nice but the service is sooooooow and the food is shoddy considering the high price tag. Edinburgh is full of gorgeous cosy stylish cafes you can do better than here. Each of the salads picture cost more that £10 each which is crazy. If you're just wanting coffee and you have time to burn it's a nice spot.
When a once beautiful plant is neglected due to lack of water for days and is dying in front of you, you wonder about the zombies who work here and the lazy management. Shame on you, Soderberg
Horrible experience. In a group of 4, the rest of my group was done eating by the time a server came around to inform them I never received my food. I then received the worst, most oil-soaked omelet I have ever had. I found each bite more challenging than the last, and left feeling very nauseous. Due to the delay in service I didnt even have time to ask for something else or it to be remade because we had a timed reservation to get to. I just forced down what I could, paid and left. If you find yourself here I would say stick to the coffee and scones which actually looked quite good.
