Food was a 4/5 but the amazing service bumped it up to a 5/5! The guy in the white shirt that had newly been promoted was absolutely amazing. He really went out of his way to give us what we were asking for. His efforts were greatly appreciated and his promotion is very well deserved!

Lovely lunch with the family. Our experience at Bisque Brasserie was wonderful. We had an amazing afternoon for our families pre-Christmas get-together. Our group of 14 were effortlessly accommodated, from a few drinks in the bar before we sat down in the lovely restaurant to have our meal. The whole booking process was easy and efficient, the food was beautiful, and the service delightful. While all the food was beautiful and highly complimented, a special mention to the fish & chips, which got unusually high praise from the fussiest of eaters in our clan. Thank you to all in Bisque Brasserie team, to Colin and the kitchen team, and to Fiona in reservations. Great day had by all, we look forward to being back again soon.

We went here while staying at The Bruntsfield Hotel and we was pleasantly surprised! The food was really good and tasty , the portions big and the staff very freindly and helpful. The drinks are also good and the prices fair. It's definitely worth a visit! :)

I organised a large dinner for a group of friends last night here at Bisque and it was fantastic! From the super communication with Fiona before the night to arrange the menu to the friendly staff and delicious food. We all had a wonderful evening and we look forward to returning again soon. We all recommend this wonderful restaurant. Thank You!

Stayed at the Best Western Hotel which this restaurant was located in. Loved the hotel and the staff (best value in Edinburgh). The two dinners we had there were excellent with service to match. The bar area is really active with many people there each night and again very friendly service. Our hotel breakfast there was also very good with either menu service or buffet or both. Even the soda was included. Stayed there in Oct. 2010.

At last the moribund menu has been refreshed! Service is always prompt and courteous. Despite the new items on the menu I was feeling a little tired and just fancied a steak. The ribeye was nice and pink if a little too fatty for the price. The tobacco onions (whatever they are) tasted alright but looked rather a mess on the plate. The older Canadian tourist at the table next to mine ventured that the fish and chips are "very good".

Was here for a private function and it was excellent.we also had use of a private courtyard outside that had covered area for having drinks. Friendly staff and good food.

Stopped in for lunch one Sunday afternoon. Good food, polite staff, and well priced. We did seem to be the only people in at the time, which detracted from the atmosphere a bit.

Great food and free wifi. During the summer it has a lovely court yard at the back that you can sit out in.

We thought we had booked a restaurant. We entered through the hotel and took the lift downstairs. We were not greeted and not seated. The waitress was a very pleasant young lady rugby player who had clearly not been trained. The table wasn’t set properly, we had to ask for napkins. The entire experience will never be repeated.

Poor slow service. No one came to take our order after being seated so we had to go to the bar after 20 mins. Same experience through out our time there, poor table service, had to continually go to the bar for drinks, extras etc. Menu prices are much higher than the "chain pub" standard of food they serve, and the service does not live up to the price point also. Save your money and go to a Greenw King instead!

We enjoyed our lunch at the neighbourhood. We ordered smoked salmon sandwiches, they arrived with a small salad and crisps. Pleasant surroundings, service was very slow.

Very poor quality pizza. Hard to chew the dough, and I am not an old lady. Even difficult to cut it using the pizza cutter. But the staff was super nice. And the garden was good vibe. Wish they could improve the food !

Have eaten here many times and have been impressed. Today, however, was different. Plate of soup was small, lukewarm and had no bread to accompany it. My partner’s linguine with squid had only two pieces of fish on the plate. We were with friends and didn’t want to ruin the meal by complaining. With so many other eateries nearby Bisque will have to up its game or suffer.

Poor experience. Couldn't get anyone's attention to be seated when we walked in, order taken but then after an hour it still hasn't turned up. One of our table had to leave for another appointment and hadn't been fed! Manager came over but didn't actually apologize, just spoke about the rugby that day and told us to come back when it's less busy next time (!). Only reason for the second star is the food was good, but that might just be because we were starving. There are much nicer places in the area, go somewhere else!

Wanted to try this restaurant so booked a table on Tuesday for 19.00 on Saturday night to take clients. Received confirmation email. In the car at 18.40 on route to restaurant we got a call saying sorry we can't take you we forgot we had 60 people for a pre theatre dinner. What kind of establishment "forgets" they have a booking for 60. VERY embarrassed in front of our guests.

Over salted greasy food. Last meal with our daughter before she starts nearby University, as you can imagine it was a fairly emotional night. We were seated in the bar and ordered 2 portions of fish and chips and a plain pizza, nothing complicated, or so you would of thought. Service was very slow, looked as though there was only a young lad on duty. Food arrived fairly quickly, the fish was extremely greasy and the batter was soggy and it was so so salty, the chips were almost at the point of being burnt, and the pizza was swimming in grease, daughter could only eat 2 slices of it. The young lad serving was very busy as we couldn’t get his attention, the hotel restaurant manager just ignored us and walked passed several times. Rather than make a fuss my daughter just wanted to leave. G If your after informal, decent, well cooked food, go elsewhere. Spoilt, what was an emotional night.

Our experience was terrible. we booked for boxing day festive menu 1st or 2nd Oct 16. we had an email to confirm our booking as we were on holiday in Edinburgh for 5 days. we found our way to the place and went in early to have a drink. then when we were seated the menu that came out was not the festive menu that was advertised when i booked. i explained this to the person who was to take our order and he said the festive menu was now over. Really a bit poor that nobody had the decency to send an email or phone call, so we had our drinks and left. we emailed the establishment about our experience and nobody had the decency to reply. i think the 1 star that was given was too much as i could not leave feedback without it.

After 2 attempts at serving the right starter. we told kitchen is closed and main dishes are off the menu. Really disappointed 😞
