I stopped in yo get takeout "DIY cannolis" on a trip to OK recently. These were very cleverly done. The filling was delicious & the topping selection was divine. I think the Cannoli "shells"were deep fried egg roll wrappers but they were really good once filled w/ you toppings. They were reasonably priced due to the quality of the filling & toppings & the fun of making whatever you want.

We live in OKC & don’t often get up to Edmond, but I am so glad we made the trip for Sparrow. Dinner was excellent from start to finish. Cute & cozy atmosphere, the restaurant is chic but approachable & not intimidating. Everyone on the staff was friendly & accommodating, especially our server, Lexy! We were a group of 6 that can be chatty & silly, she handled us well. The drinks, appetizers & our meals were all incredible. Our party ordered a wide variety & everyone was so pleased. I’m not a wine drinker myself but the wine menu did look impressive. I only wish we could have saved room for dessert, we’ll need to do that next time! We’re happy to make the drive for this experience again. Thank you for a memorable evening!

The Hype is Real - Everyone's Ordering It! I'm not even exaggerating when I say that literally every table around us ordered the bruschetta at Sparrow Modern Italian. And after one bite, I completely understood why. That Bruschetta Though... Hands down the best bruschetta I've ever had. The bread had the perfect char and crispiness, the tomatoes were bursting with flavor, and whatever they're doing with their seasoning blend is pure magic. I watched table after table get theirs delivered and every single person had the same reaction - pure joy.

Table of 6 at center round in entry dining. Food was incredible, service was incredible. The atmosphere was classy and fun. Everyone from other tables when looking around were all having a great time! 10/10 would recommend!

UPDATE. Visited in February and had a less than favorable experience. Evan followed up and invited us back. Second visit in May was everything anyone could ask for in an Italian dinner experience - excellent service, quality food, and we enjoyed both wine and cocktails. Look forward to including Sparrow in our future dining plans. Can't miss with any of their pizzas or pastas.

Well, another amazing stop in Edmond while in town from Alabama. The place has amazing service and the food was top notch. They are know for the lasagna and now I know why. I am so happy I decided to give it a try while in town. The garlic knots and Cesar salad was over the top. I got the lasagna with meat sauce on the side so I could enjoy the flavors as separate and enjoy the backed cheese as well. If you have not tried this place yet, get there and make it happen soon! Locally owned and a staple on my list next time in town.

I've liked coming here and really enjoy the food. The 100 layer lasagna is good (even when I had it 2 days later reheated it was still top notch), the Lobster + Shrimp Scampi is so delicious, and I throughly enjoyed the House Tiramisu. You can make a reservation online (which I really appreciate), no need to dress fancy (jeans/casual is just fine), and I really appreciate how the restaurant is not wasteful either.

Incredible restaurant, service, and food. I have a ton of food allergies and the servers were kind enough to have the chef come out. The chef was accommodating and also helped me develop something “off menu” that not only met my gluten free, dairy free, tomato free needs at an Italian restaurant, but also made sure it was delicious! Thank you for your attention and service on Christmas Eve, it was so refreshing and would 10/10 recommend

Ash Marie provided top notch service, first and foremost. We never felt rushed, never had to ask for anything and everything was timed perfectly. The food was equally on par with the service. I had the Sparrow negroni. No complaints. Then I tried the Caesar salad, a must try, along with the burrata which was also perfection. I had the spicy shrimp and tasted of my coworkers dish, which was the special featuring a pesto cream sauce. He added crab. I actually preferred the special to the spicy shrimp pasta, but that is no knock on the dish, only my preference between two outstanding and perfectly prepared dishes. I recommend everything I had and will be returning the next time I'm in the area.

Absolutely delicious modern Italian place and while it isn’t *quite* the absolute favorite we’ve had, my spouse and I definitely enjoyed our food. Our server, Jimmy, was excellent as well and very knowledgeable about all the menus. We started off with the house focaccia bread and were given bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar to mix ourselves. We then ordered the pizza rolls and my gosh, if you’re looking an elevated pizza roll, get this! It comes with a delicious Calabrian chili ranch and goodness, I could dip that ranch in everything! 10/10 would recommend! My spouse ordered the spicy shrimp ravioli and really enjoyed. He did think it was a tad too creamy but that is completely a personal opinion! The shrimp were huge! I ordered the tagliatelle al ragù and it was delicious too. Like a fancy meat sauce! They had an impressive dessert menu too, with those made in house and those from their neighbor restaurant. We ordered the tiramisu and bombolini to go. While not quite looking like what you would think of a tiramisu, the flavors are definitely there and you could definitely taste that rum! We’ll definitely return here in the future to try other menu items!

Loved everything about this place! Our waitress was great, shared all the best recommendations and so friendly. The food and drinks were delicious. We went with burrata and garlic knots for apps, and both were *chef’s kiss*. For dinner we all ordered different things, but personally I had the carbonara and loved every bite! Of course, you can’t skip dessert - so tiramisu! I love a good tiramisu and this one did not disappoint.

Got this to go and it was excellent! My first time eating here. Got the bolognese, lasagna, and meatballs with the polenta. Each were really good. Bolognese is definitely sausage and super rich. The meatballs and polenta are super good and creamy. Lasagna was great with lots of layers! Definitely ordering here again. I believe the noodles are even hand made.

Sometimes it takes to long to get out to a place you have wanted to try for a while. This is the case with Sparrow. I love Italian food and will be a harsh critic if you don’t bring the flavor. With that said, Sparrow has the flavor. We started with the meatballs with polenta. Deliciously seasoned meatballs that are not to big not to small. The polenta is creamy and a perfect partner to the meatballs. My girlfriend went with her favorite shrimp fettuccine and was pleased. I had the Cacio e Pepe. If an Italian restaurant doesn’t do this dish justice, then you should probably go somewhere else. I loved this Cacio e Pepe! The thick long noodles carried the ingredients with ease. It was lite, but full of all the right favors. I added some grilled chicken. The chicken was moist and tender. This is a great Italian food spot! Enjoy!

Server was great! We tried several items on the menu. All was good. The lasagna was exceptional. The meringue dessert was delicious. I prefer the mozzarella cheese sticks at Upper Crust but these were good too. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience with my husband. We had fun trying a restaurant to which we had never been.

I have absolutely no complaints! We were one of the first in the door and were greeted with a smiling face and given the option to sit anywhere! Prompt service followed where they took our drink orders and offered suggestions. The drink I ordered I had never had before, the waiter offered to wait to see if I enjoyed it... If not he would have given a replacement! The food was absolutely amazing and the drinks were strong. A classy establishment. Will be back!

Took my wife here for our anniversary and it was a home run! My wife’s family is Italian (like born in Italy Italian) so she has very high standards and was blown away with the pasta, my ravioli was delicious although the portion was a bit smaller than I wanted but it makes sense if everything is made in-house. Our waitress was attentive the entire time and just had a bubbly, joyous attitude the entire time. The atmosphere wasn’t too bad, I would just say it was a little loud with everyone talking but I think it also speaks volumes to just how popular the restaurant is. We look forward to going back when we move back from Florida!

This was a phenomenal experience! The lobster and shrimp scampi starter was incredible. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a butter knife. My wife got the bolognese and it was to die for. I got the Arditi to drink and while I usually don’t enjoy most hard liquors, this was smooth and delightful. Definitely a place you have to try in OKC if you haven’t already. We’ve had lobster in Maine and this was on-par with that experience. Simply amazing.

The atmosphere and the service was fine. It seemed like they were a little understaffed but our food came out in a timely manner. The food made up for that. It was delicious. Some of the best Italian I’ve had in OKC. We ordered Caesar salads and the 100 Layer Lasagna. Can’t recommend enough!

K

We absolutely love their food. It's creative and not typical Italian. Their 100 layer lasagna (it's not what it sounds like) is a refreshing take on traditional lasagna. It's so amazingly flavorful - we get it every single time. They also have great craft cocktails. The service is always impeccable!

We live in the middle of OKC and it's impossible to get my husband to go anywhere north of Memorial unless it's REALLY good. Sparrow is REALLY GOOD and absolutely worth the little lie about it's location I had to tell him to get him to go. He loved everything and we'll definitely be going back for their crave worthy risotto and lasagna. Natalie was also the best server we've had anywhere in ages!

I brought a large group to taste the new executive chef Jessie Gomez’s specials and WOW were we blown away!! Our table couldn’t stop raving about the quality of food and service we received from Auburn!! From the hostess to the guys clearing the tables everyone was so friendly, sharply dressed and most importantly a smile on their faces. We had not a want or need that wasn’t met. A truly FANTASTIC experience! Special s/o to Dakota their beverage manager who introduced us to some fabulous spirits and took great care of us the whole night. Lastly, if a restaurant is lucky they will have team members like Maki who elevated our evening from the second we walked in. 10/10 Pete would be so proud!

Guys, I loved it. New takes on old favorites abound at Sparrow Italian. Is the food homey? No, it's modern and unique and explosive with flavor. Instead of warm familiarity you get bold expressiveness. It's perfect if you're starting to get bored with the usual Italian place. There staff are all super friendly (though I'm not sure if I have a good frame of reference; since I moved here I've discovered Okies are the friendliest people I've ever met), and the night I went, Jacee the bartender was crushing it with a drink she invented. To sum up: Food? Great. Ambience? FRESH. Drinks? Top of the line. Service? Easton and Jacee were BUILT for this. Branding? These people wrote the book. 10/10 will return.

Great atmosphere. Not too nice but higher scale than the hideaway down the road. Good Italian spot in Edmond. Would recommend the meatballs. Would return.

I had a wonderful night out here with a group of friends! We ordered food and a bottle of wine for the table, all which our server Lily recommended. The food was great in quality and taste. Lily’s service was amazing and her recommendations were spot on! I will be coming back!

We came in on Friday night for dinner and we are so glad that we did! We were able to walk in and immediately get sat even though we did not make a reservation! Our bartender Mary was fantastic! She went through the drink menu and helped us a choose a great wine and later made the best martini I have EVER had. She did the same for the dinner menu and made suggestions for each course. I have to mention that she did all of that while still helping out the other people that were also sitting at the bar AND making drinks for everyone. The burrata appetizer was delicious! We shared the 100 layer lasagna and I believe it was the best lasagna either of us have ever had! We were so full but Mary raved about the tiramisu so we finished with that! It was overall a great experience and we will be back soon!

Sparrow is truly fantastic! I recently attended a wine dinner there, and every course from start to finish was absolutely amazing. The wines were perfectly paired with each dish, enhancing the entire experience. If I had one suggestion, it would be for the bar staff to be a bit more organized and attentive. Aside from that minor detail, everything was perfect!

The 100 layer lasagna is fantastic! Great service, too. Parking is usually available in the lot next to the restaurant, but on a busy night you might need to park a block or two away.

We found this restaurant online & went because the reviews & menu were appealing. Mary was our waitress & was so welcoming, personable & informative. Everything from the wine list to the dessert was impressive! We had a glass of Valpolicello, a jalapeño Paloma, shared the meatball appetizer, a caprese salad & their lasagna & their special with short ribs, mushrooms & sweet potato crisps then a DIY cannoli & some fried pastries! Everything was divine! The house manager checked on us several times to make sure we were satisfied & had everything we needed. The ladies room was spotless too! If we are ever back this way again, we are coming here to have dinner!

We ordered the lasagna and the lemon fettuccine fettuccine alfredo. These dishes were executed with precision. We enjoyed the woven French techniques in the dishes. The sauces were clearly built with intention, reminiscent of a French gastronomy. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu and it was delectable!! Truly one of the best restaurants we have experienced.

Superb Holiday Dinner and Drinks! Highly recommend! Victoria, Lexy and the rest of the staff made our evening perfect. Subtle and classy Christmas decor add to an already great atmosphere, allowing for a real escape, while creating an intimate dining space to laugh with friends and loved ones. Everything was fantastic and seamless.

We have eaten here a couple times and the food is great. You can tell it’s freshly made and not frozen. Their 100 layer lasagna is amazing but get ready to go into a food coma. The staff is really friendly and when we went for a birthday dinner we had an ice cream cake and they were very accommodating. Definitely a nice place for a date night or celebration dinner.

The 100 Layer Lasagna was delightful and will now be a new comfort dish for me. The crispy artichokes weren’t my favorite but they were still good. Overall I enjoyed it very much.

Me and my high school girlfriends had a get together and had such a good time with great food and the service was excellent! Our waitress was Ashton and our Sommelier was Alex both gave great recommendations and made the experience fun. We will be back!

I’m traveling for work and one of the highlights of my day is choosing where to eat after a long day. I chose Sparrow, and I already told my coworkers, that I could have dinner here every day for the rest of my trip and be OK. Parking wad a little tricky when I first arrived, but I figured it out. I also had a brief moment of panic when the hostess asked me if I had reservations, but I was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t miss a beat and seated me immediately. This restaurant is a little higher end, but I was impressed at the approachability and general “fancy but friendly” vibe of the place. My plan going in was to order the hundred-layer lasagna and dessert, but when the server recommended the flash fried artichokes and feta, I couldn’t resist. I am pleased to report that everything was fantastic. The artichokes and feta were delicately charred and fried, and even better than I’d hoped! The hundred layer lasagna was also amazing, and it was a struggle to save half for tomorrow’s lunch. It was a perfect balance of noodles, crispy edges, cheese, and sauce. I ended the meal with the Italian meringue with lemon curd and roasted berries (I think) and I had to fight the urge to lick my plate! The server was very attentive And helpful, and I also noticed that the GM-or maybe even the owner-personally checked on every table. 100% five stars from me, I cannot wait to go back!

My husband and I visited for a date night for the first time. Service was great; they were very attentive to our needs. We made a reservation online and we were seated immediately, even though the place looked pretty full. The tables were fairly close, but there was still plenty of room between, as opposed to some of the reviews we read. The atmosphere was pretty noisy, so it was hard to hear each other. The parking lot was extremely small as is typical in this area of town, but we found a spot. The place is wheelchair accessible; it has a ramp leading up to the door, and the tables can accommodate. The food was good, but wasn’t stellar. We ordered Spicy Shrimp Lumache & Grilled Romesco Salmon; both were good. Fair warning - Spicy means spicy - it cleared my sinuses out! Overall we had a good time and will visit again.

Excellent food, very nice atmosphere, unique concept for modern Italian. My 1st visit. Word of mouth about the 100 layer lasagna led me here. The only disappointment I had was with the waiter. I won't refer to him as the server, because the folks that actually brought the food out were far more friendlier and attentive. Will I be back? Maybe. Don't let my review persuade you to not trying this place out, because you can tell this business is run with pride and somehow this waiter snuck in under their radar. Let's put it this way, I've received more attentive service at Chick-fil-A than I did here tonight. But enjoyed every bite. Thank you.

I have wanted to go here for some time. We were greeted immediately and taken to a table. Our server was nice and offered recommendations and checked back often. We got the garlic knots covered in Mozerrella. I was waiting for that punch of garlic that never happened. These were just meh. Wouldn't order again. My spaghetti with meatballs was good. Nice flavor on the sauce and fresh pasta was cooked well. We got the tiramisu for dessert. That was a miss. Neither of us loved it and we left it. I would go back again to try another dish or two because I want to love this local business. But this visit was just okay.

K
Kimberly Crisp

We got seated fairly quickly despite it being a Saturday and full. I ordered the jalapeño paloma, which was good but not at all spicy. My dad got the limon contento which was very sweet and not very lemony but not bad tasting. Three of us split the lasagna—phenomenal and definitely recommend—and the chicken parmesan. The latter needed more sauce, as it was very cheesy and just a touch dry. I'm usually the biggest chicken parmesan fan but wouldn't order this here again. In my opinion, the honey topping they provided didn't really do anything to compliment the for. All of the food was a bit small on portion for the prices. I would probably come back and try some other items.

Good food - good service. I love the gluten free options. The cauliflower crust was excellent and I love the fried chickpeas instead of croutons in the salad. I’m a fan of a clean fork with my entrees and was surprised that at this level of establishment I was asked not only if I wanted to keep my fork, but to hang onto it. Why is it so difficult to bring me a new one?

The 100 layer lasagna was layers of magical joy! The ambience and food choices are great and I'm looking forward to trying the DIY Cannoli.

Great local place. Clean, fresh and open atmosphere. Super yummy cocktails and the chicken Parmesan pizza was to die for.

Had the 100 layer lasagna, was alright but nothing amazing. Not worth the price. Service was great, atmosphere was decent, parking lot was an absolute headache. Most of the parking lot was flooded due to poor drainage. Was absolutely full as well besides the nearly foot deep puddle spots. Wasn’t even raining hard.

This was our first visit. We came for our Valentines Anniversary dinner. We started with the distilled water (they have tap, distilled & sparkling) and sweet tea. For our appetizer we enjoyed the meatballs which had a nice spice and polenta but wished the polenta would have been a little thicker, more of it & the ricotta. Our mains we chose the two specials seafood Risotto and Fillet with Asparagus and Mashed Potatoes with Crab and Hollandaise Sauce. We unfortunately were not impressed with the portions for the price and the seafood risotto should be marketed as appetizer. The amount of seafood on it was lacking. The Fillet minion was good but again portions were off needed more asparagus and crab. For dessert we enjoyed the baked Italian meringue with lemon curd and roasted berries. It was like fun-dip for adults! Overall our experience was lacking but the atmosphere and servers were great enjoyable.

Overpriced, mediocre Italian food. If you like big white plates with small portions and paying for “atmosphere,” it’s perfect. We went because someone kindly gave us a gift card and told us it was their favorite restaurant. The gift card, though for $50, paid only half our meal, and we split our main dish and ordered appetizer and dessert. Ouch. Food wise, maybe our expectations were too high? I don’t see what all the fuss is about. We’d rather go to Vito’s or Moni’s if it was still around. Way better food and wouldn’t cost a gift card arm and our own leg.

m
martin sanders

I really want to like this place. Have given it multiple tries. Atmosphere is lovely, staff are attentive. However, the food is just really not good. There are so many options in the area in this price range and culinary style that are leaps and bounds better. Bar drinks are great, however extremely over priced. Not something I normally complain about. But 18$ for a glass of house cab is excessive. Maybe I caught them on five bad nights.
