I can't say enough about Ali Baba - the food was not only delicious but the portions were plentiful and the service was so kind. The platters especially have a lot of food so keep that in mind when ordering! So far this is my favourite middle eastern restaurant in the area.

This place is truly a jewel to your palate and pocketbook! Delicious food, ample serving, personal family service, and all at a fair price! The place could use some cleaning up, fresh paint, putting someone on regular bathroom detail, but that aside I do recommend this place to anyone looking for that Middle East charm!! We ordered the feast for 4, but it could easily feed 6 starving students!

We were greeted upon entering the restaurant and immediately sat down. The woman who was serving us was super friendly and made some recommendations for us. While we were waiting for our food, we saw the table next to us get this giant flatbread and we knew we had to try it. We ordered some and it came out pretty quickly; it was about as big as the table!! I loved the crispiness, but also the soft chewiness of the edges and it was delicious with the super smooth hummus. The food was delicious and my plate was enough food that it fed me for three different meals!! I feel like the price was reasonable for the size of the portion and the service continued to be good throughout our meal. We would definitely come back and if you're looking for delicious Middle Eastern food in a relaxed, laid-back environment with good service, this is a great place to go!

Loved this place..... Didn't have to wait at all to be seated! Got our drinks and appetizers all within 10min of arriving... Our server was great, he kept checking up on us. food was amazing every thing taste good. We ordered a meal that had a bit of everything they offered for only $65 perfect for the amount of food on the platter. Deserts are good as well... Visited Alibaba in El Cajon and had a very enjoyable experience. The food was halal, flavorful and well-prepared, with generous portions and a good variety of dishes. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a satisfying meal, and I’d definitely return.

The entrance is really cute with ethnic tapestry and artwork it transports away from the busy city life. I went on a Sunday around noon and it wasn't busy. There is plenty of free parking. The food was nit spicy which is great for my IBS. The portions are big and the bread is huge. I ordered a half order of an entre and was not able to finish it.

4.5⭐️ I am never disappointed by Ali Baba. But this was the 1st time eating inside the restaurant. It was cute and the service was excellent. Good food, huge portions, good price. We left fat n happy. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Mediterranean food.

Don't post reviews much but I felt compelled because I loved Ali Baba. It has gone seriously downhill over the last few years. It was always bustling with families/parties but is now empty and feels like they're doing bare minimum to keep the store front open...rice tasted like it was out of a microwave bag from Vons. Tasteless, no spices, raisins, or shaved almonds. Veggies were not fresh. They were out of normal dishes. Hardly wanted to touch my food. Sad to say after many years, we won't be visiting again unless it returns to its old form.

The owner himself was so rude and disrespectful. These people think they can act this way because theres no one else but them in El Cajon. Theres so much better places and respectful out there. The owner is disgusting. This place will fall down in no time, I would never have came here if Mal Alsham was open. Just a tip for the owner to teach you some manners, you should treat your customers as your guest at home. I don’t think you’re rude to your guests at home, we’re your guests. We’ve eaten here before and the food was good, but today’s experience was absolutely disappointing. We ordered food for six people to go, and as we were eating our meal, my son found a big curly hair in his yellow rice. My husband called the restaurant to let them know, and instead of apologizing, the person who answered was rude and even accused us of putting the hair there ourselves. His “solution” was to offer a discount next time, well, there will definitely be no next time. What a shame. The food might have been good once, but the customer service and hygiene are clearly not. I do not recommend eating here.

We went yesterday, six persons to celebrate a birthday. I am very worried and concerned with the fact that…. They cook the ground chicken meat spoiled . I could smell it and tasted, adding that they mix the leftover of lamb meat and beef and fried it. To me it’s a high risk for customers, only because they don’t want to lose money? I am so sorry, even in the Middle East community, We the Westerners Are not use to serve our customers spoiled groo beef and chicken. Be very careful!!!
