Greek Chicken in El Cajon has been around forever, and I’ve always heard great things about it, so I was definitely looking forward to trying it. Overall, it was just… okay. I ordered the chicken combo plate with gyro, chicken, and onion rings. The flavors were decent and everything tasted fine, but nothing really stood out. The biggest letdown was the portion size on the chicken. It felt pretty small. The onion rings were fine, and the gyro was good, just not memorable. Not bad by any means, but not quite the amazing experience I was expecting based on the hype. I’d maybe give it another shot, but this visit was pretty average.

I used the drive-thru and I thought I was clear with my order. I ordered a medium Greek salad w/ garlic bread, and a side of fried zucchini. I received a chicken Greek salad w/pita bread and the fired zucchinis. This is the second time they taken upon themselves to add the chicken plus the cost. Also noticed Greek Chicken changed the way they make their salad. I was not happy with the service nor the quality of the food.

We often eat at this restaurant, but I have to say something today – oh my god! I always order the half-chicken and it's never been a problem before, but today I ordered the half-chicken meal, and the chicken was incredibly salty and overcooked, making it too dry, and there was sand in the rice. Has the restaurant changed chefs?

Our Greek Chicken tastes like basic Costco roasted chicken, didn’t taste much lemon or spice. The rice was plain, I was expecting some lemon sauce flavor and more moisture. Overall the food was underwhelming. But the lady that served us was fast, friendly and efficient.

This used to be my go to spot for a great chicken salad. I’m sad to say times have changed. My salad contained several pieces of onion with the onion peel still on them. My few pieces of chicken were greasy and very dry. You can see from my photos that my lettuce has grease on it. I called and spoke with the manager 9/19 and she said she would let the kitchen manager know. She didn’t offer to remake my salad and she didn’t offer to refund me. Considering that I drove 27 minutes one way, for this salad, I am extremely disappointed. I’ve been eating here since the early 2000’s.

Food is very good and always has been. A huge disappointment has been that the past times we come we are looking forward to having a shake and it seems their machine is always broken. PLEASE FIX THE ICE CREAM MACHINE PLEASE!!!! It's been months and it still isn't fixed.

We have been coming to this Greek Chicken for 2+ years and have always had a great experience. The service is always great and we’ve had good food in the past. But tonight was bad enough that management needs to be aware. We ordered the 1/2 chicken with two sides and garlic bread. As soon as we opened the to-go container (in the car immediately after receiving it) we smelled a rancid smell. I, at first, thought it was the garlic bread smell mixing with the grilled chicken. We got home and tasted it and I believe this chicken had gone bad and it was still grilled up and served. We took one bite and threw the rest away due to taste and smell being unbearable. Very disappointing. The purpose of this review is for the owner/GM to be aware and to address and fix the issue before anyone gets sick. There’s no way that chicken was safe to eat. Again, we have always had great experiences here and I totally get things happen. Hopefully this can be addressed asap.

Came from the south bay because my mom loves their salad. The blond girl was super rude not only to customers but to staff. Not sure who runs the place but if she doesn't she needs a reality check because she ignored the cooks in the back when they asked a basic question and her snooty face was unpleasant and unwelcoming for my first time. We placed the order and for the side asked for corn. She scolded the guy who took our order to tell him we couldn't get the corn and for him to handle it because he took the order. So he apologized and asked if we could order something else which we did. It didnt seem like she was a superior since she did nothing extra besides act extra bossing people around but this blonde girl ruined the entire experience and atmosphere that I was looking forward to. I grabbed a catering menu while waiting and immediately put it back as I will find a Greek salad closer to home with friendlier service. Just tried the fried zucchini, horrible absolutely zero flavor

Horrible experience. We ordered a salad for my mom because it's her birthday and that's what she asked for. It's the only reason we went there. The employee taking the order did not key it in. The woman bagging our food said the salad was in the bag when we reviewed our order with her, but there was NO salad. I live over 30 mins away and had to drive all the way back to get my mom her birthday salad. The manager made me pay even though they made the mistake. I even offered to pay but with a discount due to the trouble it caused me, but she said no. Totally ridiculous. I'm happy to pay for my order, but I'm not ok paying for other people's mistakes in time, gas, and missing my family's celebration. So pissed and irritated at the poor customer service and unwillingness to make it right in any way shape or form. Where's the accountability?

I ordered two medium lamb salads and when I got home and opened the box it was chicken. I live 25 minutes away from the restaurant and I did not want to drive back. The young girl needs to pay attention when she’s taking people‘s order. And next time I will look in the box before I walk away.

I’ve loved this place for years, but it’s gone downhill. They use canola oil instead of olive oil in their Greek salad, which is very disappointing. Prices keep going up while portions get smaller and the quality isn’t what it used to be. Sad to see a restaurant I trusted for years cut corners like this.

I’ve been coming to Greek Chicken for years, I don’t know if it was the update or what, but the food was so bland, from their signature chicken to the onion rings— they burnt my onion rings, and the amount of chicken on the chicken pita has drastically reduced. I will not be returning to this location. Wasted my money here! The Main Street location is so much better!
