Opinions de Lin Taiwanese Cuisine Elmhurst
The food is served very quickly, perhaps too fast. The portions are also huge and the prices are great for the amount given. This place is great if you're coming with a large party of guests since each person can get something different and share due to portion sizes. The food is alright, it's never bad but they won't take creative risks with it. I suppose for most people looking for traditional taiwanese food that is a good thing.
So yummy. Always come here with a craving! Good and fast service too
A truly hidden treasure of Taiwanese food in Queens! All the food we had today was so authentic, finger food like the steamed sticky rice, stinky tofu. Entrees like steamed cod fish with soybean sauce, sautéed loofah with clams and fried oysters, all so perfect and are exactly like I had in my childhood in Taiwan. Best part is there is a free parking garage in the back and none of the food we had today is greasy. Highly recommend!
"The best Tasting Food, I have ever had in my entire life".. The beef Over Rice with chilly Pepper is so perfectly prepared, The taste is like no other. Trust me When I tell you, That this is my favorite restaurant in all of NYC. I live in the bronx its so good that I actually Pay the bridge every time to go to queens just go get Taiwanese Gourmet. Take it from me.. I don't even like paying for bridges here in nyc, BUT only for Taiwanese Gourmet I will pay the ultimate price for this heaven sent perfection food dish. "oh bless the hands of the creator of Beef Over Rice with chilly Pepper".. AMAZING I recommend this restaurant 100 MILLION %. Thank you for your kind Service & perfection in quality food
Authentic Taiwanese food that reminds me of home. The Hakka stir fry is especially delicious! The hollow heart vegetable is great as well. Sausage I’d skip next time; it’s just not the sweet, Taiwanese sausage I want. Stinky tofu is pretty mild/tame. Good introduction for those who have never had it before. Friendly, welcoming staff that reminds you of your aunties or mom. Would definitely be back again!
BEST Taiwanese food in the area!! Been going here for a while now and it never disappoints. Flavor? Price? Service? Option? They have it all. I highly recommend the Crispy Chicken, Mapo Tofu, Braised Pork Rice, and basically everything lol. Everything is really authentic and most of the dish are like $5 - $15 per plate. I love this place, idk, should definitely check it out if you're looking for some good Taiwanese cuisine.
I just moved to Queens and always wanted to explore food varieties around. I never new that this is what Taiwanese Specialties offers. They have a lot of similar dishes to my home country and it's definitely worth tasting. I liked the pork roll or in my country "kikiam", as well as the friend intestines. Mmmmmm. All we need is suka(spiced vinegar). They seem to be healthier than other Chinese dishes. They certainly are different. I, for sure, will be back to this place with my family. Oh, and I believe it's CASH only.
A typical no-frill, cash only asian establishment in Elmhurst. Just to be clear: this is TAIWANESE restaurant incase their name was clear enough. I’ve been coming to this joint since forever and oh god i miss the old times when i used to live close by and prices were lower. Their dishes have always been excellent and portions are generous. Again, cash-only!
They have some affordable options below $7 and below $10. Specifically, the over rice options. It looks like you're only getting half a plate of food, but even that amount is very filling and so flavorful. I've been here twice and have been satisfied with the experience both times. The chicken leg over rice is crispy and nicely marinated. It's so flavorful. The second time, I got the braised sliced pork over rice. The pork fat was so soft and buttery and left me feeling very full. I had it as a late lunch and ended up not eating dinner after that. They're a cash only restaurant, though
We came for Sunday lunch with a party of 7 (called ahead to make a reservation) and sat at one of the few large tables with a Lazy Susan. Two Taiwanese American friends had picked the spot as a Taiwanese favorite, suggesting Elmhurst (a little closer to the rest of the group that lived in Manhattan) as a Flushing-alternative. It feels like a family-owned and family-frequented spot, as we saw many multi-generational parties on that Sunday afternoon. They had a lot of homestyle and street food dishes you don't typically see at restaurants - stinky tofu included! Note it is cash only! We also ordered the pork chop, basil fried chicken, oyster omelette, braised pork over rice, a vegetable dish, and Atlantic cod with savory crispy beans (personal favorite - I could eat that shallot oil over rice as a meal itself). The food was all delicious, and I enjoyed coming with a large group since we were able to try more things. It was incredible value (~$20pp with tax and tip, and being extremely full) - hard to find in Manhattan, and even Flushing these days. Service was fairly minimal, but I think thats a sign of the most legit Asian restaurants. I will definitely come again with other friends!
Cash only. There is a parking lot in the back of the restaurant. This is my go to spot for Taiwanese pork chop over rice when I’m in the area. I’ve done both take out and dine in and the food is consistent. Pork chop is crispy; add an egg. Besides the Taiwanese pork chop over rice, the Stinky Tofu and the Clams with Basil were good as well.
My mom and I have come to this place and ordered 3 cup chicken, oyster pancake, fried pork chop, stinky tofu, and many others. The food is wonderful, and the service is fantastic. The atmosphere was there were many people in there, and many others.
One of my favorite Taiwanese restaurants. All dishes are reminders of what I miss when I haven’t been back to Taiwan in so long. The stinky tofu is actually a bit stinky and the fried rice is a go to as well as the Dan Dan noodles. The super crispy popcorn chicken is the best with a ton of scallions and basil. For the price, I believe this place as definitely a great value for those looking to enjoy Taiwanese food. I’d suggest going in a group of 3 or more to be able to try more dishes. Service is quick and food comes out hot! Hot Tip: take a chicken/pork/beef over rice to go for another meal it reheats well. Cash only.
After nearly 10 years of faithfulness to Taiwanese Gourmet, I decided it was time to do a lunch-for-one review. Not going to post up polished photos of my food, because that's not what this place is about. It is a straight forward, delicious, and perfectly priced family owned Taiwanese restaurant. The staff is always friendly, the dining room is clean and comfortable. Open till 2 a.m. and equipped with a parking lot. Today I ordered the lunch special, where you can mix and match 3 different dishes. All-in-all with taxes included, lands softly at about $20. I truly hope this place never changes.
A great place for family or just a couple people who would like to get some Taiwanese food. As a Taiwanese who grew up in south Taiwan, I can confirm the foods here are decent. Price is definitely a bargain that you won't find elsewhere in New York City especially with this kind of quality. Some waiter/waitress does speak fluent Taiwanese if you prefer to order by that.
Cash only but worth it. I really like it here and the dishes are really authentic/reasonably priced. The service is fast both for wait staff and food coming out. Place always has at least one customer and is clearly popular. You can order in English or Mandarin. The tea is really nice too. My friend and Taiwanese mother love this place.
We had a group of 8 come to dine for dinner. People waited for a whole hour to be seated, we waited for 45 mins-an hour. Shows how good the food could be to wait so long. Food came sparingly and no reservations available. and we were already starving so by the time each dish came the one before it was practically gone. At least the food was still hot when served
Love this place. Definitely try the fried pork chop - so crispy on the outside, tender inside with great flavors. Also ordered the milkfish soup and it came with so many pieces of milkfish! The portions are very big for the 2 of us. Tried the oyster vermicelli soup on a separate trip - I won’t say this is the typical 蚵仔麵線that you get in Taiwan but I kinda liked the big oysters they put and the small portion of food. Overall, although perhaps some of the food items may not be “authentic” compared to what is in Taiwan, I really like this place and would come back to try the many different variety of food that they have here, and are reasonably priced. They are also very friendly. The only downside is that they are a cash only establishment.
The restaurant delivers a complete experience without gaps. The food at Taiwanese Gourmet makes me want to return quickly. The people working here have great attitudes. Staff members exceeded expectations and the place sits in an ideal area. I wish them continued operations.
The dishes here impressed me more than I expected on my first visit. The workers delivered delightful assistance. My referrals to this place come from genuine appreciation. Each mouthful pleases deeply. This restaurant merits at least a single visit.
The food here was really good. For five people, we ordered around 10 dishes and it really filled us up. The sticky tofu was soooo delicious and perfectly fried and the pork chop was amazing too. This place is CASH ONLY so make sure to bring some. For all the food out total came out the around $180 with tax and tip (not all pictures of the food are shown)
Everything here was really good. The stinky tofu was one of the best I've had. The oyster pancake was the best I've had in the US. The table loved the fly head dish (chive flowers and pork). The scallops and loufa/winter squash was a big hit as well. The salty crispy chicken could have used more pepper but the texture was good. I can see why folks say this is the best taiwanese restaurant in NYC.
Great spot for lunch and dinner! Constantly delivers delicious Taiwanese dishes. Recommend appetizer Glutinous Rice with Large Intestine, from Taiwanese Specials, my favorites are the Pork & Dried Tofu, Pork & Bamboo Shoots, and Beef with Scallions. If you need a veggie dish, I would recommend the Chinese Watercress w. Garlic. Make sure to have these dishes with rice as they can be a bit salty to be eaten alone. I also enjoy their complimentary pickled radish. ~Cash Only Restaurant~
Great service with our first dining experience at this Taiwan eatery. We had some classic dishes such as the fried stinky tofu and oyster pancake for starters. Their fried intestines and the clamps and chicken soup were quite good as well. The tofu was probably one of the better versions we have had in a long while. Will return.
The food at Taiwanese Gourmet is very comforting and filling. We had a spread of dishes and they were all really delicious. I think the stand outs for me were the fried chicken, lamb chops, and mapo tofu. The service was fast. No complaints here, I recommend stopping by if you want a taste of authentic Taiwanese cuisine.
Loved this place! The Oyster Omelette was crispy and delicious, and the Pork and Pickled Vegetable Noodle Soup was so comforting and flavorful. The Clams with Basil were fresh and aromatic, and the Crispy Fried Pork Chop was perfectly seasoned and juicy. Both the Fried Stinky Tofu and Three Cup Stinky Tofu were packed with bold flavors. Every dish was spot-on. Definitely coming back!
Came here to try the trending beef noodle soup — it was pretty good! We also ordered the braised pork with rice and the pork and fried tofu with rice, both were 10/10. We didn’t bother getting drinks since they serve fresh complimentary tea (we even got a refill!). I noticed almost every table ordered the clams, so I definitely felt like I was missing out. I’ll be coming back to try the seafood next time — especially those clams everyone seems to love.
This restaurant offers very authentic Taiwanese cuisine with a traditional touch. From classic street snacks to more skillfully prepared dishes, you can find nearly all the Taiwanese favorites you might think of. The stir-fry dishes, in particular, are highly recommended—they’re full of wok hei and best enjoyed fresh on-site. With the fast service, it’s a good choice both for a quick solo meal and for casual gatherings with friends.
First time trying this Taiwanese restaurant and it went way beyond our expectations! We ordered so many dishes just the three of us and finished everything. 😆 The fried pork was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the fried intestines were surprisingly clean and super tasty. Every dish was full of bold, well-balanced flavors just like what you’d expect from authentic Taiwanese home cooking. The restaurant has a cozy, homey vibe and to top it off, the staff were lovely and provided great service. If you’re in the area, definitely give it a try — now we know why we couldn’t leave a single bite behind.
Queens doesn’t chase food trends. It creates them. Before Taiwanese food was “cool,” before the hype spots and influencer noodle pulls, Taiwanese Gourmet in Elmhurst was already putting in work. 40+ years deep. No gimmicks. No attitude. Just straight-up bangers. Green awning, red lanterns, fish tank, and what looks like straw armor on the wall (turns out it’s old-school rain gear — respect 🫡). This place is built like a food dojo. Ordered like men who feared nothing: sausage with raw garlic (don’t ask, just do it), pork rolls that taste like childhood joy, stinky tofu that’s way less scary than its name, and a Taiwanese meatball that looks like it came from another dimension but absolutely slaps. Then the closer: three-cup chicken. Dark, glossy, basil-packed, cooked like it’s someone’s grandmother judging you from the kitchen. Unreal. Yes, also picked ordered their famous beef noodle soup. Solid. It was spicy and flavorful. Very Comforting. But the real flex here is the old-school menu — dishes you don’t see on TikTok, made the way they’ve always been. Lesson of the day: trends come and go. Real spots stay dangerous. Taiwanese Gourmet is still swinging.
Very cozy restaurant! Food overall was yummy and had large portion sizes - Stinky tofu: 8/10, first time having this. Texture was so airy and soft! Sauce was good. Wish there was more flavor or salt to the actual tofu. Def strong smell. The pickled cabbage it came w was very yummy - Sautéed cabbage: 7/10, standard - Sweet and sour pork chop: 10/10, crispy and loved the sauce - Oyster pancake: 10/10, first time having this. Very chewy, and lots of oysters!! Sauce was good
I don’t know why they kept messing up my big table rezzy even I called to confirm but let alone that I like the food here and so did my friends. The price is not bad considering the inflation but it’s cash only. The food is definitely authentic loved the stinky tofu and pork chop. They accommodate large table downstairs. I got my bday dinner here with family and friends. They don’t sell cakes just to clarify.
Went for the first time, overall experience and food were okay. I ordered braised pork over rice. It was okay, was expecting more sour taste of the preserved vegetables. the braised pork was too sweet to my taste. The place is cash only, make sure to bring cash before getting a table. Went before lunch time and when we were about to finish the waitress put the bill on the table before asking for it. There was a line when we finished our brunch. Thank goodness we went at the right time for brunch. They also have a parking lot in the back, which we found out after we paid parking on the street.
We had 5 dishes for 3 of us which was more than enough food. Two of the dishes were disappointing...the beef with celery and the tofu with shiitakes were both bland and dull. However the delicate ginger scallion whole fish wa beautifully seasoned and moist and fresh...well it was alive minutes before! And the spicy shrimp with crunchy shells was superb and delicious. As was the seasonal Chinese greens with garlic.
The problem with most so called "Taiwanese" restaurants in the US, is they have only serve about 5 or so taiwanese stuff, which can be all exhausted in one sitting with a couple of friends. Sadly, the overwhelming stuff are chinese american styled dishes with generic american styled soya sauce based sauces. Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant, though, have many, many dishes, very authentic taiwanese specialty dishes including taiwanese (stewed pork with rice) rou ba bon, rou gen noodle soup, oyster orha mee sua, and taiwanese beef noodle soup. They also have pig liver dishes, oyster omelette, stinky tofu, clam ginger soup, and lots more. Are they as good as youd find in Taiwan? The answer is no. But its the closest so far in my search to satiate my taiwanese cravings. Someone also recommended Nan Bei Ho in bayside queens. Ive yet to try, but their menu and photos are extremely tempting. Thats my next stop. Cheers.
First time back in a loooong time. Well worth the wait. Had the chance to crispy pork chops, nice especially with a little dab of salt. The oyster pancake was very goey and tasty. The intestine, blood, sour vegetable hot pot was nice. Worth a trip back. Next time I want to go late and try their late menu special (starts at 10p)
We have been here a few times in the past. We like the weekdays lunch specials but today is weekend. We ordered my favorite oyster pancake, Duck & Chinese Herb noodle in soup (3 star...As the duck is tasteless. Soup has strong herb favor without favor of duck meat), meatballs (our first time trying.... Not what I thought ... It's not ground meat ball, instead it's minced pork, mushroom, and dried baby shrimps covered by sticky sauce...) I would stick to the lunch special next time 😛 This restaurant is always crowded but they still provide good service. There are a shared parking lot in the back which is a plus.
I'm not a Taiwanese food connoisseur but what I know is tasty food, and their shredded beef with scallion with a tad of spicy peppers is just amazing. Highly recommended!. I try to eat this particular dish everytime I'm around Elmhurst. Try it, you won't be disappointed. Edit after a few years: The shredded beef with scallions is still amazing. Try it! Also make sure you try their three cup chicken and crispy fried chicken. Delicious! Cash only! Ps: The owner's son needs to watch his attitude and be nicer to his customers.
One of the last authentic Taiwanese restaurant in Queens. It has a private parking lot in the rear. The place has not renovate in a few years, but it still looks pretty clean. The servers here is always OK. Pork chop over rice was good. Lacking on the cabbage and egg. But the case is there and is crunchy over a very good dish. The stinky tofu was OK, again lack of marinated cabbage because this is one of the most distinguished dish for Taiwanese food. The cuttlefish soup is very small in the amount. It serves for one person only, that's why is only $6. Will definitely be back soon for other main dishes
Great spot for traditional Taiwanese food with good service to match. The stir-fried kidney and three cup chicken were the standouts for me – both full of flavor and really well done. Some of the other dishes were solid but didn’t quite hit the mark, and a couple were a bit too salty. Regardless, I’ll definitely be coming back!
I'm always searching for delicious Taiwanese food throughout NYC, so I was so excited to finally have the chance to stop by Taiwanese Gourmet recently. It's been bookmarked for quite a while, but it's a bit out of the way in Elmhurst where I don't find myself that often! Our party of 2 came by around 7pm on a weekday -- we were able to get seated immediately, and while the place was really busy the whole time we were there, I think there were always a couple of empty tables available. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share: - 蒼蠅頭 "fly heads" which is just stir-fried ground pork with chive flowers and black beans was not bad. I thought the ground pork had a great savoury flavour to it, but the chive flowers tasted a bit undercooked. I felt it was a bit heavy/oily, too. - 清炒高麗菜 sautéed cabbage was a little disappointing. Taiwanese cabbage is probably one of my favourite vegetables, and I was disappointed at how bland this dish was. The leaves were a bit too chewy for my taste, and I felt like it was significantly under-seasoned (salt/soy sauce/sesame oil would have gone a long way here). - 溼煎虱目魚 braised milk fish was delicious! It's not that common to find milkfish in the US (especially of this quality) even as a classic Taiwanese dish, so I was really pleasantly surprised at how yummy this was. The portion size was SO big, and the flesh was just soo fragrant -- tender, juicy, practically melted in your mouth with an amazing savouriness. Definitely would strong recommend this dish. - 番茄牛蓋飯 beef and tomato over rice was really tasty too. The tomato was cooked to a perfect softness, and the mature flavour paired really well with the slightly more umami bites of beef and scrambled egg in the thick sauce (some mix of black pepper and oyster sauce flavours). It was not too heavy at all when eaten with the rice; I felt like I could have just eaten this itself as my meal :) Service was very quick, and all of the staff were very lovely with taking our order and offering suggestions and whatnot. Note that they are a cash only place, so do come prepared! While there were some spots for improvement, I think this was still a very yummy (and promising) meal overall, and I'm excited to come back to try some of their other dishes (on their quite expansive menu).
Note: This review is primarily for vegetarians who may find themselves dining here with meat-eating friends. Taiwanese Gourmet offers an authentic Taiwanese dining experience, and it’s best appreciated by those who eat meat. While there is a decent selection of about a dozen vegetarian dishes—mostly healthy, steamed tofu and vegetable options—they’re not the main attraction, lack depth in flavor and tend to be less exciting. That said, there are some more flavorful choices like crispy tofu and the traditional stinky tofu. The best vegetarian option is the crispy tofu with the savory garlic dipping sauce hands down! They are also accommodating and if you can describe something you’d like with their existing ingredients, they will try to accommodate. The real draw of this place is its traditional Taiwanese entrees, which are clearly a hit—on weekends, every table is packed. It’s a lively, bustling atmosphere: expect a lot of noise, clanging pots, and fast-moving staff. Service is friendly but busy, and the overall vibe is more family-style chaos than quiet, relaxed dining. Also, they’re cash only, so come prepared.
I didn't realize I'd written a review over 6 years ago. Yeah, I'm still perplexed with the English name of this restaurant. I had to click on a few establishments on Yelp and look at the photos before I could confirm I am reviewing the correct restaurant. The exterior signage says "Taiwanese Cuisine, Inc", so does the printed receipt, and the menu says "Taiwanese Specialties - Won Hua Corp". I really don't know where the name "Taiwanese Gourmet" came from and how other reviewers identified it, especially the first reviewer. Maybe it was an error and everyone just sticks with it. The Chinese name (華西街), on the other hand, is rather rare; it's a name of a Taipei night market that used to be famous for its "snake alley." The interior is somewhat inviting, with clientells occupying most of the tables when I went in to pick up my orders. We ordered 4 dishes. Beef Stew Over Rice (紅燒牛肉飯). OK, but I didn't taste any distinguishing Taiwanese flavor in it. (Price is $.50 higher than takeout menu) Taiwanese Pork Noodle Soup (肉羹麵). While it did sport the signature bonito flakes and smoky flavor, it had too much black vinegar. In my son's own word - it tasted "fermented." The pork wrapped in seafood paste was overall too soft and lacking texture. Pork Noodle Soup (肉絲湯麵). My mother in law said the soup was too salty, and pork too tough. She dumped everything except the noodles. What a disaster. Beef Stew Noodle Soup (紅燒牛肉麵). Broth was promisingly dark, and while spicy it was surprisingly bland and totally lacking the defining flavor. The amount of protein was pathetic. (Price is $1 higher than takeout menu) Maybe I'll check back again another few years later.
Maybe my expectation is too high but i think it’s ok Ordered a few highly hyped dishes on red note - kidney slice with green onion: 葱爆腰花 - chicken 三杯鸡 - chive with beef All taste very similar and not one dish like “wow” me
Good family restaurant. But everything is overly sweet or ketchup flavored. We did enjoy the fried chicken flavor and the beef w dried tofu. The soup is soy sauce flavored and the vegetables were pretty oily. The spicy prawns were the ketchup flavored w mala oil. Big shrimp but flavor were nott it. Lastly the fried roll(chicken or pork not sure) had taro in it which was nice but we were confuse whether it was pork or chicken.
Food n service are decent. Return on 6/10/24, the beef noodle soup has no taste, the Taiwanese stir fry noodles has only little bit of veggie and sliced meat with no taste, the oyster pancake is ok but not enough egg, the waitress is very nice though but I would not recommend the restaurant anymore.
Got the Lunch $24.95 with a choice of soup and 2 dishes: clam with basil (was good, with a bit of hot peppers) and deep fried mackerel pike (didn't like the bitter taste in fish belly area); pork and pickled vegetables soup is very mild with pork strips and very little veggies. Fly Heads - we asked for mild spiciness but came without any so although tasty, was missing something. We just took the peppers from the clam dish. Pork chop over rice - didn't expect the pork to be on the sweet side. Food came out quickly. Service was attentive. Cash only.
Worst service ever! Last night, my friend and I waited for a table for about 15 min. The female staff seated a couple who came after us at a table for 4 people simply because our friend has not arrived. When I asked her for an explanation, her attitude was rude and horrible. I couldn't put up with that kind of an attitude and left without waiting further. I understand that restaurants have their own rules but they have to make sense and be fair to their customers. I have eaten there before, and their food is okay. But after what happened, I don't plan on going back any more because of such terrible service.
Ordered from their late night menu special. Beware of the smaller portions. I guess the regular menu size should be larger. $30.00 of food the pork chops and crispy salted chicken were soggy. The portions are smaller than a kids Mcdonalds Happy Meal. Its my first time ordering from here. Maybe if you dine in the food will be better.
Sharing thoughts on a restaurant I’ve been dining at for a long time – I started enjoying this Taiwanese cuisine since 2003. Back then, the flavors were excellent, and the prices were reasonable. Many have told me that the owner has changed several times, but I’m unsure if it’s the owner or the chef who has undergone multiple shifts. Getting to the point, this time, we mostly ordered snacks: 1. Oyster pancake was decent, 2. Fries stinky tofu was average, with less intense flavor than before. 3. Crispy fried intestine wasn’t very clean in the middle, not crispy enough. When we complained, their response was that it’s less tasty without the intestine’s flavor. So, if you’re sensitive to flavors, avoid it. 4. Glutinous rice & sausage were alright, although not as authentic as in Taiwan. 5. Flavored glutinous rice – don’t order this; I suspect it was pre-made and microwaved, as the inside was hot but the edges were hard and dry. 6. Oyster in thin noodle – definitely avoid this one. The taste and noodles don’t match those from Taiwan or the southern Fujian region, and surprisingly, they added vinegar in advance, resulting in a sour and highly unappetizing flavor. Lastly, this place only accepts cash and offers no discounts. Confirm that the prices on your bill match those on the menu, as many Chinese restaurants, especially handwritten ones, may have variations.
Worst experience today!! I've been coming here for more than 23 years and the service has gone down hill lately under new ownership. We arrive at 9:10pm at the entrance and the owner (see picture) stopped eating with food still on her lips and rushed towards us and yelled "We close at 10 and you guys come so late! You better sit down and quickly order." with an very unpleasant facial expression and attitude. We turned around and left the place immediately, we are not coming back here EVER again and you should reconsider. It's a shame because the last owner was wonderful. There are literally 20 restaurants nearby so it's not worth the unpleasantness..
The place is crowded, the seat is limited, and they don't take reservations. They failed to notify me that one of my dishes wasn't available, and when I tried to make a follow-up order, I was again ignored multiple times. Finally, the owner/waitress came out to confront me about why there isn't at least a 20% tip on the table 🤦♂️ Overall the experience is extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. As a Taiwanese who misses his home dish, this is disappointing.
I went to the Taiwanese Gourmet to have lunch today , I order the lobster , the lobster meat tase like rock, and the lobster legs are not the same size . My friend just sent me the pictures of lobster , so the restaurant’s only give me one leg of the lobster, And charge me the full price .
I ordered delivery from Fantuan, and there were several issues. First, the delivery arrived an hour late. Second, when we received the food, we noticed that the prices listed in the delivery app were $5-$10 higher per dish than what was on the receipt. This means we paid at least $40 more for the delivery. The discrepancy between delivery prices and the standard menu prices is significant, with delivery prices being nearly twice as high. This situation is both frustrating and disappointing, and it feels like fraudulent pricing.
Everything we got tasted just okay if not a bit on the bland and slightly sweet side, even though they were savory dishes. The service was minimal. Overall I was just disappointed because I was really looking forward to this place.
Terrible!!! DO NOT COME!!! PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU COME!!!! The staffs and cooks are extremely discriminating and disgustingly rude and if you arent a tourist who has a camera out ready to post a video for them I advise you to avoid at all cost. I ordered a pork chop that was $15 They gave me all bones and fat and edges that were cut off and looks like a family of wolves got it before me it was greasy and disgusting. I told the owner herself about the situation then she told me to not question how her food looks when I clearly pointed that another table who was toursits got a way bigger portion and atleast looks edible and not looks like some dog bit out of it. Then she told me to never come back. I am also a asian and never had problems with takeout I came with my family once and this is how Im treated sick and disgusting.
