Samurai Kitchen & Sushi

I was working in Erie for a few months and this place quickly became a favorite. A friend and I went once a week and we were always met with friendly workers and amazing food/ sushi with large portions. The staff pays great attention to detail and Kenzie H Remembered our usual order. Both she and the other serving staff are attentive to their tables. The kitchen has a great turn around time too so you’re never waiting long. I look forward to when I can come back!

THE place to go for the BEST sushi in Erie! The staff and service were excellent. Outdoor seating is very happy and comfortable. Wonderful selection of food, all of it fresh and delicious. Not to mention the gorgeous presentation. All aroung fantastic experience -Can't wait to go back!

We went here for my birthday dinner and the rolls did not disappoint! We sat at the sushi bar and chatted with the head chef, along with another diner. The restaurant itself is not large, however they also have an outdoor space that can accommodate more people. The sushi was amazing, and I'm still thinking about the Erie Sunset roll I had. The staff was all very friendly and attentive to our needs as well. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to stop by.

The food was really good. Really fresh sushi. The service was good. The atmosphere was extremely loud when we were there cause it looked like a girls' night out, and it was more than 10 girls in a table talking abnosiously loud. Nobody could have a conversation across the table because these people were really loud talking and laughing. I wish they could have asked nicely to tone it down to make the other customers happy, but I guess not. Anyways I'm not sure it is like that all the time. The place was nice and cozy and clean. The service was good and the food was great.

This was my first time eating sushi, and it was an amazing experience. I would love to go back! Highly recommend the Erie Sunset roll. Also, the Vietnamese Pho was delicious, and my husband loved his Chicken & Shrimp Hibachi. The service was excellent.

We've eaten here several times, and tonight was THE BEST EVER!! Not only was our waitress fast and attentive, she really cared that I couldn't have a bunch of spices all over the steak & shrimp Hibachi dinner I had. She checked with me twice after we ordered to make sure I was okay with certain seasonings, and was obviously very clear with the cook about how to prepare my dinner! I was extremely impressed with her, I can't gush enough! We've had other wait staff there, of course, but she put them ALL to shame! The entire meal was cooked perfectly ~from my daughter's sushi and my Hibachi to the Mochi for dessert. I wish they'd bottle and sell their salad dressing too! I only gave 4 stars for the atmosphere because it was very loud and the noise was coming from the other wait staff, not the customers! The prices are good, bathrooms clean, all was great.

Cozy atmosphere with delicious apps and entrees during both lunch and dinner. Friendly and inviting.

We needed a table for 7. We waited 5 min for hostess to clean off a table. We were served immediately. Very polite. Clean restaurant. Friendly sushi chef. Good miso soup. Great jasmine tea! Had a kids menu, too. Rolls and tempura were excellent as were the spring rolls. Will go again.

Kami roll & Sunset roll were the best! Outdoor seating was nice! I only wish they had a dessert menu too!

This place is fantastic. My husband is upset we only went once this summer since we moved to Pittsburgh. He's a big sushi fan and I'm not, but I did try the white fish on his plate. It wasn't too bad for a person who can't stand raw fish. It's still not for me, but my husband loved every bite. He had gotten the deluxe and added on some rolls, and I had gotten the sweet potato rolls with hibachi dinner. We sat in front of the cooler with fish, and we were able to watch them work. That didn't distract us from our conversations, though, which was nice. Out waitress kept our drinks coming when empty, and she was so nice and pleasant. I can not wait for our next erie trip to go up there again to eat.

It was my first time dining in there and I had a wonderful beautiful time. The atmosphere was good. The staff was Very welcoming and it was nice because I was a little nervous. I would highly recommend you go there the awards they have for their food. It's top notch.

My husband and I made a reservation for a Friday night. We were seated on the patio - thankfully, because it was rather loud inside since it's so small. I ordered the yaki udon seafood, and he ordered the Sumo hibachi plate. We also got a shrimp tempura roll. Everything was delicious! This was our second time at Samurai Kitchen and we will definitely be back.

Been here twice now and both times did not disappoint. Had lobster and filet minot hibachi and it was amazing, very tender and the flavours on the meet, fried rice and veggies were unreal. Second time has some sushi and it was also excellent, highly recommend if you are in the area! Owners and service is also great. Lovely experience!

Whitney was our waiter and he was very accommodating, very personable and very helpful. The entire staff was wonderful! The sushi was great and quite tastey!! Went back 2 more times before our vacation was over. Yes, the sushi was as delicious as it looked!

First time coming to this little gem. My friend from Japan was in the mood for sushi. We sat outside. The environment was great, server was fantastic, the prices were reasonable (for what you get), and the flavor…was the best I ever had. You know it’s good when she gave it two thumbs up! Will definitely be back.

Perfect staff. Makenzies Hard Black Cherry Cider is aust here! Sushi is perfect. Pho could use a bit more flavor, however the portion is amazing! A perfect end to a day at, very close , Presque Isle.

A true gem of Erie! Ordered the calamari from recommendations from Google as the app, truly a great choice! Great spicy flavor to the seafood along with some veggies started the meal. Main course was the poke bowl, which was simply the best Poke I’ve ever had. Generous portion of salmon and tuna on a modest plate of rice. The fish was accented by a light sauce and each bite was an explosion of flavor and freshness. The plate was accented by seaweed, avacado, and some sort of pickled veggie. A wonderful meal, 5/5 stars!

Looked up sushi places before heading into town for our trip, and this place was the highest rated. I brought my siblings in for dinner, and for it being a Tuesday night, the place was insanely busy. We were sat outside, but it was a beautiful evening so we didn’t mind.Our server, Kassandra, was super nice and despite being swamped, she made sure we were taken care of, and was very sweet with the kids. You wouldn’t have thought from her demeanor that she was one of three people helping everyone, she handled herself well. The kitchen food came out first, which the kids raved over and gobbled up. Our sushi took a while to come out, but that was understandable since there was only one sushi maker and their assistant in training handling the load of the dinner rush, which, again, was absolutely packed for a Tuesday night. Not to mention, the other a lot of the food industry being hit by lack of help, I know they were working as hard as they could. The sushi was amazing, second best to our favorite place back home in VA. We will definitely be coming back during future trips!

I posted a few months ago how I thought Sushi Samurai was the best sushi place in Erie, Pa. My and I went again today and they did not let us down. My wife had a philly crab roll. I had the Sushi Combo. I was blown away. The Sushi Combo feature generous portions Salmon, Tuna, Squid, Tilapia, and delicious Mackral Sushi. A spicy roll and Shumini. All delicious. The price tag was $27 for my plate but it's enough for 2 people and the price is right in line with what you would pay at Wegmans. Wegmans sushi is good and recently vote People Choice for best Sushi in Erie. Skye our server was prompt, helpful and friendly and offered the best service I've had at a restaurant for some time. Thank You.

the salad is so good. not a big sushi fan but still had something delicious to eat

Finally had the opportunity to try this place and it was every bit as good as it looked. We got the kani salad, a few maki rolls, and a chicken and shrimp hibachi dinner with side salads. Our server was incredible... Absolutely on point. The sushi was the best I've had in the area, the hibachi was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, and the kani salad was the best I've eaten. The inside of the restaurant is small and you don't have much privacy, but it doesn't feel tight or cramped. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Best Hibachi I’ve had in Erie in a long time! Fried rice, chicken & shrimp, house salad were delicious. Wish I would have tried this place sooner.

My family and I came in for dinner on a Tuesday night and it was fantastic! The food was delicious and well-portioned, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was very comfortable. It was our first time and won’t be our last!

Parking and tables were a bit crowded but I suppose that comes with having a quality place that is popular. Service was outstanding. Selection and food where excellent. Great value.

It was my daughter's 12th birthday, we made a reservation got in immediately. The food was amazing. We ordered so much, they even brought her fried ice cream decorated so pretty! Just the best experience. I would absolutely go again.

Stopped here on vacation. Great service!! We ordered the spicy crab roll, California roll, chicken tempura roll, and shrimp tempura roll. Everything was great. We had the calamari appetizer and it was overcooked and rubbery. Would definitely avoid that. We would also come back again!

I ordered take out. They were busy so it took 30 mins. I love sushi and I was craving it bad! I ordered the Shrimp Tempura and the Crazy Dragon Roll. I loved the Shrimp Tempura, perfectly made! The Crazy Dragon Roll was great also BUT the skin of the eel was very rubbery and I couldn't chew it so I had to pick it off the rest of the roll before eating. Please consider removing the skin. I would recommend and come again.

Food was good, delicious filet mignon. My husband loved the ramen. Restaurant is small and even though it was busy, the waitress did an excellent job, great customer service.

cute and semi enjoyable, was hard to give an accurate review.... the waiter, I will say for the first time was to helpful, I had mentioned that if it was good I plan to order some more that was my mistake he kept coming back every two minutes and I didn't get to savor the food at all. I didn't get to spend much time communicating with my guest, as the waiter was there and stayed. give me a second or two to chew,lol. temperature of sushi was a little warmer than I enjoy, . I may give it anther try, to see if it was a one time fluke.

Not my best time here. We were super appreciative that they took our group as late as the did but the food was subpar. The atmosphere was nice. Our waitress was super sweet and very patient with us considering we had 4 kiddos and 4 adults. If you want hibachi it's worth the show, experience and taste of the food at an actual hibachi restaurant. I would not recommend for someone wanting hibachi.

The staff was as speedy as they could be for a walk in and mostly friendly. Atmosphere was rather pleasant and seemed upbeat. The food was pricey and absolutely terrible. We literally grabbed Burger King to get the after taste out of our mouth! My fried oysters were some type of pre frozen generic tasting funky breaded oysters like something you'd expect to be a great value brand from Walmart. And EXPENSIVE! And my girlfriends eel meat on her sushi roll had an insanely strong, fishy taste that you just couldn't even wash away with your drink after. We felt so unsatisfied for a finishing meal of the day we each both just got one of our favorite sandwiches from Burger King around the corner and had that so we could lay down and feel satisfied for the day. Haven't been here in a long while. Used to be a very high quality food place with decent prices. Somewhere along the line. The prices sky rocketed and the quality of food tanked. Was rather disappointed. Especially for the final bill and such an unpleasant feeling on our taste buds and in our stomach. Didn't bother bringing it up to the staff and didn't want to waste our time dealing with it. Just paid and left a fair tip and left. With no intentions of coming back.

I called the day before New Years Eve to make a reservation. Every time I called, it got "disconnected". I attempted to call 4 times throughout the day, every time, the line went dead. So I decided to drive there to make my reservation. I parked right in front of the entrance and, just for the heck of it, decided to try calling. I watched the woman at the front desk pick up the phone, then hang it up. I was extremely disappointed since my spouse and I usually love going there, but I figured if they don't want my business, then I won't give it to them. I pulled out of the parking lot and we made a reservation at Roma's instead.

Me and my Fiancé just went this Friday and now have food poisoning. I’m pretty sure it was the chicken stickers or cross contamination because we both have the same symptoms. Not cool !
