Oh George Restaurant

Delicious food in a classy but casual atmosphere. Will, our waiter, was polite and funny. Probably the best waiter I've had since moving here 6+ months ago. He offered specials and recommendations for us and checked in with us throughout the meal to ensure we were enjoying everything. Would definitely come here again. Highly recommend, especially if you're into craft brews. Ask for Will and you won't be disappointed with the service.

I’d like to thank the staff. Very Courteous, and supportive who care about their quality of service. We were going to have my daughter’s birthday party there for just having lunch and cupcakes but we were offered to use the back room instead which is separated by glass doors. Very nice and cozy place! The kids had a blast and We couldn’t have more fun! Big thanks to the manager and staff… I don’t know how thank them other than leaving this review. We will definitely go back there.

I had a good time with friends on the weekend evening.The selection of beer was very good and food too. We first visited but enjoyed the delicious beer and food thanks to the friendly staff( Cc ). Gooood atmosphere~!

Great burgers and Pizza and beer selection...bring the dog on Tues and Wed on the patio...really. UPDATE DEC 2017...celebrated two 50th birthdays with friends. Staff incredibly helpful (shout out to Roy on emails), food, drink, service, atmosphere in the "taphouse" part of the restaurant was amazing. Love this place again and again!

I don't think I've had onion rings this good ever 😭😭😭 FOOD WAS DELICIOUS !!! I'm sorry I forgot our servers name but he was an Asian guy super sweet and attentive I'm gonna recommend this place to everyone now so good

Food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. The new GM was very attentive to our needs especially since we were celebrating a birthday. I highly recommend the OG burger and shrimp and grits. The key lime pie was exceptional. My first time dining here, will not be my last.

First time guest Oct 28, 2025 lunch time. Great service. Food was so good. I had the Mason pulled pork sandwich with fries. The sandwich was huge. I had to eat a lot of the pork with my fork first to get the sandwich to a reasonable size to bite 😂 the sandwich had slaw, pickles and an onion ring. It was really delicious!! The fries were crispy and not greasy. I’m a fry lover I approved 😜 I really love the atmosphere, decor, design and seating options. Absolutely going back soon!

Allie was our fabulous server. She took our dining experience to a new level. Split our salad without asking. Refreshed all beverages automatically. Was here at the table just the right amount. I literally flagged down the manager to say how wonderful she is! We will definitely be back and hope we get her again!

We were there on Thursday, Sept.25th and walked in to a great jazz band playing. The vibe was so smooth and made our experience there so enjoyable. If they are there again, please let us know. We would definitely be back to eat/drink there and listen to the band. Made our day!

Food was great, but the staff was amazing, Melissa and Brian were on top of all our orders. They anticipated all my needs and requests before I could even think of them. They were witty and funny and great conversation and made our visit the best. Whether you want an ice cold beer or craft cocktail, these guys are the best!

We Had a party of 13 . I am sorry I don’t remember the name of our Server. She was fantastic. I must say the food was outstanding! The Service was Fantastic in the atmosphere extremely delightful.

My experience was amazing! My server was Caroline who was just the sweetest waitress ever! She was very helpful with recommendations and was very on top of it! I also had the chance to talk to Penny who makes amazing drinks and is so funny! Hosts and environment were very comforting. Will be returning 😁

Stopped by to see my friend Mel while she was bartending, and she absolutely killed it! Her service was amazing—super attentive, friendly, and fast. She made great drink recommendations and everything was spot on. You can tell she creates a fun and welcoming vibe for everyone at the bar, not just people she knows. The whole experience was made better just by having her behind the bar. If you’re thinking of visiting, definitely grab a seat with Mel!

Came in for a bite and a drink while visiting friends in town. Place was busy but the food (butcher's block pizza) came out quickly and was very good. The bartenders (Brian and Kylie) were great, handling the crowd well and being attentive and friendly

Melissa was fantastic! She gave great recommendations—we loved the cocktails and our meals were delicious. She was super attentive, and made sure everything came out perfectly. Her service made the night even better! Will definitely be back again to see her!

The amazing team at Oh George hosted our very large group (100+) after GMUs Homecoming game on 2/7. Early and consistent communication to meet our requirements was outstanding. The food was wonderful, as usual. And, the service team treated us incredibly well. We will definitely return for another Homecoming celebration. dined at the restaurant right after the George Mason basketball game yesterday, and wow it was absolutely packed. What really stood out was how fast our food came out even during the busy times. One of the workers Nelson truly hustled and brought our food freshly out and was quick when we requested more things. He did us the favor of also cleaning the dirty dishes off our table so we had space for our newer plates. The worker had a very positive attitude and tone with our table and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table in the rush. I will definitely come here again with my family.

I was getting over a cold, didn't want to drive far from home, and wanting some healthy comfort food and a good strong hot toddy drink, so I decided to give "Oh George" another try, as it had been about a year since I'd be there and my previous experiences there we're just ok. However, this time I noticed a much improved difference. They now have a new menu that is bigger and better than before, and new manager (Lily) who made me a fantastic hot toddy, and a very attentive server, Isabella, who was happy to honor my requests. They didn't have hot toddies on the drink menu, so I asked Isabella if she could inquire with the bartenders whether they could make one - and what resulted was one of the best hot toddies I have ever had (so I had two)! And then my meal was cooked perfectly to my request - a well done honey glazed salmon, over a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and long-stem carrots, and all of it went down as smoothly as the honey in my drink. After my meal, Isabella told me they had pecan caramel cheesecake, but because I was already full yet loved the sound of it, I said that I'll take one to go. She later informed me that Lily paid for my dessert, so I cornered her and thanked her on my way out the door and of course I also asked for the hot toddy drink recipe, which she so kindly provided. It was a great experience all around, so I will definitely go back and most certainly in much less than year...maybe even in less than a month! Oh George is oh so much improved and well worth a visit!

Hello, I am here to talk about my experience at Oh George. It was a very wonderful and comfortable experience, and I will be making sure to come back and dine in again. The service was sublime, quick, and very pleasant. There is a very kind hostess by the name of Madelin who made sure to prioritize my comfort and dining experience, which is why it is so elevated. 10/10, please do consider dining here, because the experience is very worthwhile.

Had a late(ish) dinner after a long week. Been here a couple of times, the food is good with nice portion sizes. You get your moneys worth. However tonight’s experience was enhanced by our wonderful server Amber L. She was very polite, prompt, and attentive without being pushy. If you are lucky enough to have her as your server you will be in for a great experience.

Our server was great. There were eight of us and he kept up with all of us and was able to give us individual checks upon request at the beginning of our meal. The food was delicious. I had the wings few people had different pizzas. Some had the Buddha bowl that was outstanding. Salads were good. Can't say that there was one meal that wasn't good.

Dined in on Friday had Evan as my server. One of the most friendly servers I've ever met and was very professional. Food was okay Ordered the Oh George Burger and was slightly let down. Burger is $20 dollars but underwhelming. Service was great and Ambiance was nice.

Pretty good. The burger was good, but the fries didn't start super hot and kind of got cold. Plus the ketchup is limiting...I need a lot of ketchup, and those little ramekins just don't cut it. I asked for a bunch at once, but it didn't happen. Still a good place to go. Calamari was excellent!

Stopped in for a late afternoon lunch with my l/o. Great ambiance, clean with ample seating. Was seated immediately. Albeit I’m not a drinker, but appeared to have a large wine selection along with a decently sized menu. Offers indoor and patio seating. Patio feels intimate although adjacent to Parking lot. Food was fairly priced…Taste wise, to be expected. Only complaint was I had to ask for refills twice and waited a bit too long for ketchup (there were only about 4 other patrons so I find it unreasonable to wait 5 minutes/have to ask for refills). To that end, I would definitely return.

Got to try out OH George! today thanks to a University of Alumni event before we played George Mason. This was my first time at this location and to watch a game at George Mason so I was excited to try it out. Our apps included wings, pizza, pretzel bites and salad. Everything was fresh. I also decided to order fried Mac n cheese to supplement. The food was good but service was a little slow. They are located in a plaza with other businesses and plenty of free parking. We had a section by the bar reserved for our group. The alumni provides a few appetizers and a cash bar. We came towards the end of brunch but was given the brunch menu. I was a little disappointed to learn that they added 25% gratuity to the bill. I didn't get to see my detailed bill before signing. When I asked they told me I wouldn't be able to see it until after I paid. I found the $10 difference a bit high and learned it was due to the high gratuity.

really good food!! I once had a sort of important meeting there and it went super well, all parties present loved the live jazz in the evening, wonder when all they have it??

Service: We made a reservation at Oh George! before heading to a WNBA game at George Mason, and it turned out to be a great call, it’s located just across the street from the stadium, which made things super convenient. Though the restaurant was packed due to game day, our party of six was seated comfortably and on time. We didn’t get seats at the bar (happy hour is bar-only), but our server was attentive and responsive. When we mentioned that there was more spinach dip than bread, they quickly brought out extra chips without hesitation. Taste: The food was solid across the board. We started with the spinach dip, creamy, flavorful, and definitely a crowd-pleaser. For mains, most of us went with pizzas. I ordered the Porky Fig, and it did not disappoint. The balance of sweet and savory flavors was on point, and it wasn’t overly heavy or greasy. Everyone enjoyed their picks, and the portion sizes were satisfying. Ambiance: The atmosphere was lively and fun, understandably busy due to the game, but still manageable. It’s a great pre-game dining spot with a mix of casual and slightly upscale energy. Great for groups, friends, or a relaxed dinner before an event. Overall Review: Oh George! is a convenient, tasty, and welcoming option if you’re headed to an event at George Mason or just looking for a quality pizza and pub-style meal. Great service, creative flavors, and a location that can’t be beat. Will definitely return, especially for that Porky Fig pizza!

The menu will please all palettes with a wide variety of choices. My Reuben sandwich was filling and satisfying. The fries were crispy and not oily. Special kudos to our server who memorized the orders for all 8 people in our party without making any mistakes.

Fun place. Only been for lunch so far but they seem popular. Great beer and good food. Salads looked great (add steak) and the tacos I had were awesome. Beer selection was really good. Had the usuals and some rare finds. Flights were good - had the stouts they had on tap and not a bad beer in the bunch (Stone was the winner today). Service was good. Fast and polite. Our waitress couldn’t answer some of my questions about the beer but was willing and friendly at getting answers for me. On the way out I noticed they had a decent whiskey selection. Might need to come back for dinner soon.

Service was great. Menu change for brunch. Good but not as tasty as the previous. Maybe a chef change, but the potatoes were not nearly as good as before, everything else was good. Had great atmosphere.

I had a fun and tasty meal at Oh George! Tables and Taphouse. The food was fresh and flavorful — my burger was juicy, and the pizza had a great crust. The beer selection was impressive, and the staff were friendly and quick. The place has a lively, casual vibe that’s perfect for hanging out with friends

Near the campus of George Mason Univ. The food was different but really good. Loved the trashcan nachos. The burgers are good, the fries are good, and so is the pizza. Would definitely come back.

I visited on both a Sunday evening and a Tuesday evening to sample offerings from this eatery next to University Mall Theater and across the street from the George Mason University Center For The Arts. Parking seemed adequate both times with an adjacent corner lot and overflow parking next to other University Mall shops. On both nights the place appeared to be half to two-thirds full with customers. I received attentive service from Sabrina at the bar on Sunday night as well as good service from another person on Tuesday whose name I did not ask. The bar staff seem conversational with patrons and expedited a couple of dishes after noticing some delays. The kitchen struggled on Sunday with food times but redeemed themselves with my selections on Tuesday. My choices Sunday consisted of a southwest salad with chicken, a turkey burger and fries, and some donut holes. On Tuesday I had a Margherita pizza with prosciutto and key lime pie. The salad definitely had some spice heat from the chipotle dressing which surprised me with the assertiveness of the chili flavor. The protein was cooked well and the overall balance of other ingredients was satisfying. The turkey burger was cooked just about right with some sear on the outside, even if I would have preferred the patty a little more done. The fries were hot on arrival and stayed that way as I ate. The donut holes took nearly 30 minutes to arrive, but I found they were close to worth the wait. The exterior was crisp, the interior was properly doughy with steam rising after each bite, and the raspberry sauce was just the right portion and not too sweet. A little powdered sugar for garnish might dress the presentation a touch. The pizza had a well baked thin crust that held up well to the sauce everywhere except the very middle which might be expected. I found this relatively straightforward pie easy to finish. The key lime pie seemed to be portioned for two. The custard has a nice lime flavor which I could have enjoyed on its own. The pastry seemed a bit thick for me, as I perceived almost double the thickness to which I am accustomed at other eateries. Despite other recipes using kiwi slices with lime pies, I did not take to the kiwi coulis presentation or flavor with this dish. The coulis might show better on the plate rather than on top of the pie, but the combination does not work for me personally. My bill for Sunday totaled $40 even without tax and tip including some sparkling water and $27 for Tuesday with the same beverage. I could be tempted to return in the future if I wanted a convenient place to have a before- or after-show meal whether at the theater or the Center For The Arts.

Casual dinner place Food is good, proteins could be seasoned more. Grilled chicken is very bland. Side of broccolini not seasoned, not even salt or butter. Fish (bland) and chips was good, but cole slaw tasted funky. Menu is creative and versatile. Good casual dinner place.

Dirty glasses on table had to tell waitress to bring clean water glasses. Around 2:30 we were there. High price are not comparable to what you are served as you see from pics. Local hangout for students. Can see the draw. For family the costs exceed what is served.

Nice open restaurant. Nice ambiance, food is just okay and service slow even though restaurant is quiet during the evenings weekdays. We had the steak fries and it was okay. The shrimp Po boys is huge and good. Both on a large bed of fries. They have a grapefruit margarita which was just okay. The traditional margarita was decent and other drinks were okay.

My twin sister had a funeral service just down the road and I was taking 14 of us for lunch as a thank you for coming to the service. 3 of us ordered different hamburgers and all cooked differently. Every single one was cooked not to what each person asked for. Two people ordered the ribs and each person said that they were very dry! Another older person ordered the BLT and she was served with something that had a fried egg on top, NOT a BLT! We also ordered appetizers and the 2 orders of spinach and artichoke dip, plus the crab dip wasn't very good. The trash can nachos were just okay (no meat just cheese) because I was thinking when I finally tried it, where's the cheese? No one complained to me and they didn't want to send things back or complain, because I was paying and they didn't want to sound ungrateful. Several people had 2 mixed drinks each. Others had water or sodas. So, I spent approximately $35 per person before a tip of 20% (which is appropriate for a large group). But, when you have over 50% of the people complaining after we left who told others and it finally gets to my ears, I am then apologizing to each of them and telling them that they should have complained. Of course I am one of those who didn't send my burger back because I am thinking that everyones is done correctly but mine! The restaurant was not any way near full at all and so I can't blame the bad food on that. I am sorry to say that I can't recommend this place at all! Oh, and lastly...for the men's room to only have 1 stall and 1 urinal is ridiculous especially when you serve sooo many different kinds of beer and if you're packed with a lot of men drinking, really!!! I have never left a bad review before, but I had to this time with me spending $575!!

Was placed in the backroom with a large african american party. Had asked the hostess if a front table was a available. She said no but there were tables free the wole time we were there. We are an asian couple. Feel discriminated against. We will not be dining here again.

I used to go every Thursday for the Sandpiper Jazz combo. Last night they played one song and were kicked off in favor for a singer who was too loud. The environment the band cultivated, where me and my friends could go out and hear live jazz, was one I will miss until they return. Lately the food has gotten more expensive without any noticeable improvements in quality or portion size.
