On a trip to CA for work. I found this place by driving around. If you are near Fairfield, CA, and want a really good old-fashioned hamburger, this is THE place. The lady that took my order was the daughter of Dave. I'm a sucker for nostalgia, and this place has it. I loved how everything was clean and up to date but still "ol' school" if you will. I ordered a single cheese burger, added bacon, and grilled onion. All burgers have lettuce, tomatoes, fresh onion, mayo, and mustard. And they are cooked to perfection. I ordered tots and added chili and cheese. And all I can say is Dang! So if you have NOT tried this place, get there asap!

If you’re looking for a solid, old-fashioned burger experience, this could be your place. While I prefer my lettuce unshredded, I’m not going to hold it against these folks. My cheeseburger was delicious. Parking and outdoor seating available.

The best classic American hamburgers and cheeseburgers served with lettuce, tomato and crunchy raw onions (or grilled onions if you prefer). The winning recipe hasn't changed for years and we like it that way. Dave's is consistently voted Best Burger year after year after year because their food is consistently good. They also have excellent chili, shakes, and slices of pie if you still have room for dessert.

Very small burger shack. Great service. Limited menu. No fries, only tots. In my opinion the tots are slightly too dense. Free refills. Outdoor seating. Large shake menu. The burger was good and cooked perfectly

Best burger around. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is sparkling clean, the food has great taste is served hot. Not as messy as the last time I enjoyed a burger from here. Don't come here expecting french fries with your burger they still don't have them. They currently are not selling chips (I'm assuming due to Covid) they do have chili and tots. Grab a milk shake while you are here they don't disappoint. Dave's has been a staple in town my entire life. I only get dave's about once every 10 years

I grew up in a small town in Ohio and this place took me home. From the moment I walked in I felt welcome. The menu is straight, simple, and to the point. They know what they are good at and stick to it. Thanks for good food, conversation, and the slice of blueberry pie. I will definitely be returning.

Great burger! I have driven past this spot for years on my way to this or that. Have always wanted to try them. I was not a passenger this time and headed there. I was disappointed that they did not have French fries. I got a bacon cheeseburger and soda and was happy. Burger was cooked perfectly. There were many milkshake flavors too choose from, a selection of chips and a sign offered sides of macaroni and cheese. I did not try it.

Very small location that gets lots of customers during the lunch hour. You get to see your meal cooked right in front of you as you mesmerize over their large variety of shakes menu and smell the grilled onions getting a glaze before going on your burger of choice. You can get a regular burger, cheese burger or chilli cheeseburger. Some burgers are served open facet depending on what gets put on them. The grilled cheese is made on a round style of bread and their tots are cooked to a nice little crunch. Everything was just a perfect amount of portions and a good consistency on their shakes. Good spot to take the family or team for a good ole bite to eat.

Cute burger spot. It’s pretty fragrant on the inside so I would say eat outside if you don’t want to smell like a burger. The burger itself was ok. Patty didn’t seem like it was made fresh, the seasoning was ok, but the toppings were tasty. Tatter tots were crunchy and delicious. Overall I wasn’t disappointed but also wasn’t impressed.

I ordered a cheeseburger with no mustard. The lady put mustard on my burger. When I reminded her that I requested no mustard, she proceeded to scrape the mustard off with her finger. When I asked for the manager, his response was no response, and he refused to give me a refund. I haven't been back since then

We moved to the far end of Sacramento a few years ago. But we try to make it back around just to eat at Dave’s. The last 3 attempts to eat there were a waste. On all 3 occasions they were closed when we arrived. Please update your hours of operation! We arrived during posted business hours! Drove 1-2hrs for nothing. I even try calling but ever since you stopped taking orders by phone, I can never get an answer! Today the restaurant is open until 4… we arrive 3/320 and you’re closed. Please fix this! It’s very frustrating disappointing and upsetting!
