I had the Boom Boom burger and it was delicious . Also I had the sweet potatoe fries ..Nice and sweet . My children had the steaksubs ..Everything was so good . It was worth the ride from Rochester, NY . Service was awsome .

I too used to be one of the faithful Mac's customers who would order the cheesesteak every visit. I mean, its in the name so that has to be the top menu item, right? Recently, however, I felt like it was time for a change in my life. I decided to branch out, ordering a chicken philly. It couldn't compare to the majestic cheesesteak though. Weeks of cheesesteaks went by before I had the courage to try something different again. This time: the pizza steak. Better than the chicken philly, but still only a shadow of the cheesesteak. At this point I was almost done with my menu-wandering ways, but alas that roasted pork section on the menu. Always as I ordered my cheesesteak, I saw it in the corner of my eye. Calling out to me. I ignored the call - until today. I ordered the Cuban. And what a life changing choice that became for me. A perfect combination of sweet ham, savory pork, and crunchy pickle. I knew from the first bite that the reign of the cheesesteak was over. Long live the era of the Cuban.

Delicious and filling. Bread is soft but has a satisfying chew. My personal favorite is a Philly steak with peppers, onions and mushrooms.

Mac's was recommended by a friend who was originally from Philly. It did not disappoint. This is probably the best cheese steak I have had anywhere and will definitely be back with the family. Try the pickle fries!

We have been going here since it first opened in the East Rochester location. The food is always great and the employees are friendly. This last time we had a small issue where the wrong toppings were put on the sub. They immediately apologized and cooked us a fresh sub and gave us the option to keep the old one. This is nice because we really hate it when a place just throws out the mistake thus wasting food. On top of all this they gave us a cookie for the inconvenience. Top notch service which made us feel so good about the place we decided to put up a review!

Really friendly staff here! And the food is delicious. My sister got the mac and cheese bites while I got the spicy Italian sandwich. Food came out quickly. No wait at all. Really pleased with our overall experience and can't wait to come back! Conveniently located right in the Village near the canal. Can't rave enough about Mac's. Cheese steaks are sooo good. Love their mac salad so much we sometimes stop and get a big container for a side dish to take home. This is multiple location restaurant, but we have found each one we have gone to has the same excellent service and delicious food.

Everything was great. Clean dining room and bathrooms, a hang up of mine. The customer service is fantastic and the food comes out very fast but it's hot and tastes great. The menu is really good as well I can take my whole family and there is something for everyone and it's all great.

Decent cheese steak and overall greasy spoon fair. Can't complain about much. Good flavor on the food and the service was good. The overall restaurant seems dated, but it is what it is. They serve a need and do it well. It's about the food. Would and have always come back for another cheese steak.

First time here. Very friendly staff. We shared a 16 inch Philly cheese steak with onions, peppers, mushrooms with mozzarella. Bread was very fresh - sandwich was as good as one at the NYS fair! Barbecue sauce, delicious. We will be back!

Great Philly Steak Sub...a very nice suprise. We were traveling home from Victor to CNY and feeling hungry. All I could think about was how much I was craving a good Philly Steak Sub. My wife did a Google search and came up with " Mac's Philly Steaks" In Freeport a beautiful and cool town. We arrived just before closing but that didn't matter none. They were super cool and happy about making some food for us. We took it to go because of the hour and decided to eat in their parking lot before hitting the road. Once we got a taste of Mac's food we were very happy. We all ordered various items to try that were a nice treat but it's the Philly Steak Sub that I want to mention~ what their known for. I ordered the 8 inch Philly Steak with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and extra cheese ( American). They offered a 16 inch steak sub but I thought I'd order the 8 inch to try first and we were ordering other items as well. Well I gotta say the PHILLY STEAK SUB WAS GREAT! Plenty of meat, veggies, and cheese...on a nice sub roll. All quality and rich in great flavor...just what someone would want in a great Philly Steak Sub. All agreed. The 8 inch Philly Steak sub was absolutely plenty in size ( seriously) but I guarantee next time I'll be getting the 16 inch Philly Steak Sub...it really was that Good!! Can't wait to stop in again...it won't be long!!

My brother and I come here for the Philly steak sub. I've not had any of the other items on the menu besides the fries. They make an incredible Philly sub and the fries are good. Watch your step coming into the back room. They have it posted on the floor. That little slope down into the room gets me every time.

Most definitely has to be one of the best places to go for a nice hearty cheese steak. I definitely recommend Mac's!👍🏾

Don't be fooled by the name, it has really good sandwiches, and a full kitchen menu. It's right by the railroad tracks, so you get to watch the trains pass every few minutes.

The breakfast here was top quality. The home fries were the best I have ever had. I ordered Papa Jack's Plate and could not finish because the helping was so generous. It was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend dining here. I will be back soon for another Papa Jack's Plate.

Great portion sizes. Also the fries are incredible!! 100% will be back to try the garbage plates! You won’t regret earning here.

Have been eating lunch and dinner here for years! I have never had an issues on a take out order, whatever I ordered is actually in the bag when I get home and open it. Great prices and the food is excellent. UNA bonus is that if you're really hungry, the portions are huge, and there always seems to be leftovers for later!!!!

They had nice friendly service. Restaurant was clean and pleasant smelling. There's not a whole lot of seating if they get busy. There's a nice sized parking lot and I would definitely go back. The Only thing I didn't like is there's no prices on the menu boards.

The food was good, but they did mess up two of the orders. Rather than making my niece another sandwich ( she didn't want peppers), they apparently picked off the visible peppers and brought the sandwich back. There were still plenty of peppers on the sandwich underneath the cheese.

I'd like to give it 5 stars. I have to say other than this "Raygan" girl on the phone telling me "tips are wanted and greatly needed" word for word, it was great food and quick service times. When I showed up the bathroom was kind of a mess and smelled but what bathroom doesnt. The consistency of this phone girl asking for tips not once but twice, and a third time when I got my food, was off putting. Hope they reconsider her employment.

The reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because they put WAY too much Tabasco sauce on the Philly plate. Because of this it's pretty much too hot to eat. I can only get through about a quarter of a full plate; I would rather have it be an optional choice, not the default setting.

Really good Julienne salad. Split one with my wife and we were both full! Much more than just thin sliced steak done up right. Nice dining patio and front dining room with nice view of Village of Fairport.

Ordered cheese steak subs for take out. The subs were very good, great roll. Good amount of steak, more than in the past. I would have given a 5, but the mushrooms seemed to come from a can and $36 for 2 large subs was crazy.

This was a case of a bad experience turned into one that tried to make up for the bad experience. I can't say I am completely pleased, but the efforts taken by the young woman at the counter to make things right was appreciated. Much appreciated. It doesn't take away the bad experience as it still happened, but her efforts are genuinely thoughtful and good customer service. I order dinner for my family of 3 with an order time of 6:05pm (online order). It said delivery time of 7:05pm. At 7:20pm, I tried calling the restaurant a few times. No answer. The phone just rings and rings. I decide to go pick up dinner from somewhere else but take a route that will go by Macs. I see the restaurant lit up and the open sign in the window. I park and go inside. Wait...I tried calling while sitting in the spot looking directly into the restaurant. No one answers. Just rings and rings. Maybe their phone isn't working. There was 1 person at the counter ahead of me, but the hostess did come up and greet me after a few minutes. I explained it's now been an hour and 40 minutes, I've tried calling with no answer, etc. She says the driver is new. But....as she asked me my name, she goes to the orders and mine is on the bottom unstarted. The restaurant doesn't appear busy. I took pics. I have no idea...maybe timing is everything and I showed up at a quiet time. I ask the young woman to rebate my delivery charge and she offers me an additional discount, which is appreciated. After I wait for my order to be completed, she apologizes to me for the inconvenience of having to show up, wait time, etc. That was nice of her. When I get the food home....it was delicious!! I can't say 2hr wait time delicious, but sooooo good.

A good but not great cheesesteak. Thought the onions and peppers were cut large but the mushrooms look tiny and either canned or not really fresh.. the roll was the highlight and the cheese and pizza sauce gave good flavor.

Have been a Raving Fan of Mac's in Canadaigua for many years. Have eaten at the Fairport location a few times over the past year and last night realized along with my fellow group of diners; these cheesesteaks are decent, but they are not great by any stretch. If I can eat one of these things without a napkin, there's a problem. Dry, lot of bun. A good Philly is a bit messy, a great one is really messy. They're not at this location. Good individual ingredients. Great roll, provisions are of a higher quality...but they gotta up their game.

Small subs that are decent. The bread from philly is not as good as other local places. The cheese sauce is good on the subs. The buffalo chicken sub is good as well.

What you'd expect. Fast food that's not so fast. Orderd a side of sauce and never made it into the bag. Saving grace is the food was good without the sauce I wanted, but would have been 4 stars with it.

We love the food here and order a few times a week. The orders have been wrong a few times and today we had 5 meals and called to let them know what was wrong. The man was rude at first telling me he's not dumb he heard me say the order was wrong. Bad customer service. We won't be ordering anymore.

I was very disappointed with my sandwich and will not ever got back that was very little peppers and maybe 3 mushroom slices! The meat was ground beef not shaved beef. The staff was nice. The cookie was the best thing about our meal.

I've been going here for years, and the food is almost always very good. However, their prices have skyrocketed in the past year or two. I used to think they were a great value and would go often; from now on, however, I'll probably only go on sporadic occasions if I feel like splurging or if someone else is paying.

It has the look and feel of a chain restaurant, with the soda dispenser, little tables and long menu. My Philly Cheesesteak with American cheese was tasty and very messy (the sub-rolls are soft). I am guessing the shaved beef includes sirloin, not quite as tender as rib-eye. The sides (fries, onion rings, mac salad, etc) were your typical fair.

I've ordered from Mac's in Fairport many times and it has always been great, but not so much tonight. Ordered on GrubHub for pickup at 645pm on a Sunday night. Food wasn't ready till 730pm (despite the GrubHub app saying that it was "ready for pickup" at 705pm). Yet, it was not busy at all (only saw 1 delivery and 3 other customers) and they had at least 3 cooks plus 1 counter girl. The cheeseburger deluxe wrap was falling apart and poorly wrapped, and had no onions (despite them being a standard item for the wrap). Despite the lack of onions, it was still good. The turkey club wrap was wrapped better, but not cut in half. No big deal, but come on... The fries were obviously old and not warm when I got them, and cold when I got home. I'll continue to order from and support this spot, but I feel like MGMT needs to know what's going on. Counter girl was very nice and apologetic. Raise your prices if needed and hire better cooking staff. This is coming from a long time restaurant vet. Thanks

It's fast and fairly convenient. But as far as Philly Cheese Steaks go, there are some many better places to get them in this area.

Normally I love Mac's but today my husband went into the store and ordered direct. My sandwich was COMPLETELY wrong. I tried to call about it and was told "sorry". Yes I could have driven all the way back there for a new sandwich but I am still working, already took the time to try and get what I wanted. I ate the horrible sandwich I got because that was my only dinner choice. Would have been nice if I was offered more than "I'm sorry"

Of course I didn’t unwrap them to check before I left. 1 order of sweet potato fries and 1 order of onion rings. The picture shows the sizes. Normally this place is amazing me and my bf love their subs. Usually we go to the one in the city but they’re closed on Sundays so we make the hour drive to this location. Last weekend we ordered I got a fat Mac with slaw instead of Mac and he got a steak sub with mayo horseradish and cheese. Both subs were absolutely disgusting the meat was so greasy and the fat Mac wasn’t made right the toppings were on the bottom and there was barley any. It may sound picky but when it’s made how it should be with the toppings on top it soaks into the steak. Both subs had a ridiculous amount of steak it was disgusting to bite into. I had to pick half of the meat off my sub to even eat it and my bf couldn’t even eat his. I called on Sunday and the girl who answered didn’t even apologize just said I’ll have a manager call you. Next day I call back still no manager at least this time the girl was actually professional and apologized. It is now FRIDAY and I still have yet to speak to a manager. I called today and they said the “manager was too busy” and promised they would call me back which they didn’t. They had nothing but excuses to offer that sundays are busy that they have new cooks that sometimes it’s so busy they can’t properly clean the grill even though my boyfriend always says to make sure they drain the meat really good. I myself work in food service as a manager and it is DISGUSTING the customer service I have gotten from this location. I am so disappointed because I really do love their food normally and I really just wanted our food remade. We come here almost every week sometimes 2 times if the city location is closed. I am at loss for words how unprofessional this situation was handled the manager should be making time to handle customer complaints. Customers come first! It shouldn’t take almost a week for a manager to call me I shouldn’t have to call 3 times to get a manager to call me! And each time I was told they would personally tell the manager so clearly the manager just dosent care about customer service. Completely unacceptable service and food especially for driving a hour out of our way.

So I had a issue a month or so ago and had gotten in contact with the owner and he talked to the manager who was very rude at first to me basically refused to give me a refund and I had to call her over 5 times just to get ahold of her and told me I could come in WHENEVER I wanted to get my food sense I live over a hour away. I called tonight to get my food and the “manager said” that it has been to long so I can’t get my free food. Nobody told me there was a time limitation on when I get my free food or I would have made a point to go out that way sooner. Hoping to get in contact with the owner and figure this out as I am very displeased with this location especially after my last visit.

Second time going there for dinner and second time our dinner was messed up. Reciept was right but cook can't read. Use to go many times for lunch seeing I work close by , but not anymore . Time to find a new place . For the money spent , should of got the order right . Live 30 minutes away so taking it back wasn't an option

Literally the only people in the place. Ordered food. I specifically asked for cheez wiz and mushrooms but no onions on my steak sub. Of course I got onions. No cheez wiz. I asked for them to fix it, they picked the onions off and added mushrooms. Still no cheez wiz. My wife’s sub had burnt pieces of something off the grill sprinkled throughout. She had to throw it away. We will never eat here again. Complete waste of money. This used to be a decent option for us. I wondered why it looks like there’s never anyone here anymore. Guess I know.

Ordered a chicken Philly yesterday afternoon on 11/13/2022. Woke up with severe pain as if someone was twisting my stomach constantly and needing to use bathroom constantly. Also had sweats and chills. Went to ED, they said it's food poisoning. I will never go back and eat from there again and I will definitely not recommend to anyone!

The cheesburger plate is awesome. But I'm not even kidding it's 2 dollars more and half the size& the half plate is a 1/4 of what it used to be. I understand they have bills but either keep the same size and raise the cost little. Or keep the price and cut alittle portion GEEZ we have to live too. My girlfriend and I ordered our dinner from here. She ordered a Cuban sandwich with grilled onions, I ordered a large classic cheesesteak with only extra cheese whiz. We also ordered a soda. We only received my cheesesteak without any cheese, and it included grilled onions. The Cuban didn’t have any grilled onions and on top of that we didn’t get our soda. Tried to get a refund and we only got refunded for our soda. So we lost a lot of money, my sandwich was completely inedible, and the dinner was ruined. Thank you

Ordered and picked up a Buffalo Chicken Philly. BEYOND DISGUSTING! Not only was the chicken ground chicken, there was little to no lettuce on it. It was completely drenched in sauce to the point that the roll was so soggy. It was just disgusting. Bad first experience.
