Beautiful location, with gorgeous sea views. The food and service were spot on. Very fresh crab, and the pickled oysters were tried, with a bit of caution, but turned out to be an absolute delight. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will be back for more oysters.

We went to Hooked on the Rocks on Monday and Friday evening this week. Both times the food was excellent and the service was good. The seafood is fresh and delicious and it was great to be able to try a Cornish sparking wine and some of the local beers and tonic water. The view of the sea and beach is great from where we were seated in a covered/heated outdoor area. I would recommend booking ahead as this is a popular place.

Came here for dinner and then came back the next day for the snacks van. Such incredible fresh and flavourful food! Highly recommend the crab fries and the mussels. Hot seafood platter was delicious and a good sized portion. Delightful finish with the refreshing coconut and lime posset. Staff were lovely too. Will be coming back next time we're in Falmouth.

I’ve eaten in a lot of high end restaurants and I think that this might be one of the best meals I’ve had. The John Dory (shown in picture) was perfectly cooked with a sauce that made me want to lick the plate-I honestly believe many Michelin Star restaurants would be proud to have that dish on their menu. The scallops were simply the best I’ve had-perfectly cooked and presented. The guys in the kitchen clearly know what they’re doing. The staff here are amazing and the atmosphere is a friendly, warm unpretentious place. If I lived closer I’d eat here all the time. I think it might be time to move to Cornwall.

Wow. Just wow. One of the best seaside restaurants I've been to in a long time. We started with oysters which were so delicious that we devoured them in seconds. This was followed by a hot seafood platter. We we skeptical about it being 'hot' but it was delicious - mussels, clams, scallops, prawns, langoustines and we added half a lobster. The meal was so good, that we immediately booked the restaurant again for the next night. Much of the following morning and afternoon we were giddy with anticipation and discussion about what to have next. Night two, they had run out of oysters so had to make due with scallops (poor us). Then we had the prawns (which both of us felt may have been the best we've ever had) and the grilled turbot. The first night we sat outside, by the water as we intended to get messy with the platter. The second night we sat in the cosy interior. As I write this, I wish I were there now. Thank you Hooked on the Rocks for incredibly delicious food and two memorable evenings.

Amazing seafood restaurant with incredible food, though a bit on the rich side. We ordered the shell-on wild prawns, Falmouth Bay scallops, whole plaice on the bone, and fries. While everything was delicious, the whole plaice was slightly too fatty for our taste. The service was exceptional, and the beachside view added to the experience. Highly recommend booking in advance.

Went here for lunch as we really wanted fresh seafood. OMG it did NOT disappoint in any way. The service as spot on and the food was to die for. Had prawns, scallops and 1/2 lobster it was so good we ended up ordering a second portion of the prawns and scallops along with the focaccia with dipping sauce. 1st class all the way will be coming back any time we are in Cornwall. Thank you it was ace.

Lovely little restaurant with a superb selection of sea food dishes and a great view of the beach below. The choice of beers could be better in my opinion, e.g. the current selection feels a bit too mainstream, but the excellent sea food more than makes up for the limited choice of ales 😊.

Incredible food in a laid back atmosphere. I visited with 2 friends (at their request after a previous visit!) We had another enjoyable evening. Our waitress took care of my dairy intolerance with ease and there was still plenty to choose from. Between us we had the mackerel as a starter which was divine, half a lobster, prawns, scallops and the risotto. Washed down with the exquisite Knightor baccus. Not a cheap place to eat, but worth every penny for fresh, delicious seafood. Another memorable evening. I'm sure we will return.

Fantastic food! Utterly delicious! Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Lots of gluten free options. Highly recommend!

Quaint little seafood restaurant with a lovely view of the water. Plenty of Gluten free options. Sat on the terrace and enjoyed the sunshine while we ate. Scallops, chorizo, mussels, crab, seafood risotto, all were lovely. The today’s special was turbot on the bone which was fresh and cooked beautifully but a little bland for our taste. Overall great meal, service and ambience. Will return!

Our favourites were the seafood platter, the smoked cod focaccia and my wife’s fish but honestly we can’t fault them on any of our dishes. It was fantastic throughout. Strong recommendation to visit for nice seafood at lunch! The place can get quite busy, so make sure to book in advance. We did not and were happy to get the last place outside which was incredibly windy - but we stayed and the food was worth the struggle with the wind. ;)

I very much recommend this restaurant. First, the service. Excellent. Very fast and super friendly. The food is very good but expensive. I trust that the fish is fresh and of highest quality. The desert was delicious. We spent a wonderful time for lunch and came back for beers in the evening. Same team in service, working real hard and still super friendly.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely incredible experience at Beach House in Falmouth! I celebrated my birthday here yesterday and it was unforgettable. The seafood is on another level of fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. I loved it so much I travelled all the way from London again with family just to try the lobster this time (after having their amazing crab last visit). The staff were warm, the atmosphere perfect, and the views stunning. Can’t recommend it enough! 🦀🦞🍽️

Outstanding, locally sourced, perfectly prepared and presented menu. Great wine list and fabulous service. Kitchen team know how to bring out the best in fantastic produce. Front of house team are just amazing. Always pre-book as you never want to miss the opportunity to visit the best dining experience in town.

Wanted local seafood for our last night in Cornwall - this was the perfect place. My partner had the mussels to start and I had the scallops both were delicious ! Then both ordered a half lobster for main and chocolate salted caramel mousse for dessert. Everything was 10/10 Sat in the covered area outside listening to the rain - service was friendly and vibe was very chilled My Partner keeps telling people about this place saying it’s the “best place he’s eaten in the UK”

An unforgettable experience! This restaurant exceeded all my expectations. I tried the octopus and the scallops, and both dishes were simply spectacular. The octopus was perfectly cooked, with just the right texture and a subtle smoky flavor — it melted in my mouth. The scallops were beautifully seared on the outside and tender on the inside, striking the perfect balance between sweetness and ocean freshness. Every detail on the plate showed care and precision. The ambiance and service were also top-notch. Without a doubt, this is a place I’ll return to and highly recommend to any food lover.

Hands down best seafood in Cornwall! Amazing vibes. Amy and Becky were excellent! Incredible customer service and the most delicious food! They are also so chilled about dogs which makes it even better. Definitely will be back! Thank you Amy & Becky for making our night so fab! Mia & Will x

Delicious seafood all round. However the starters we shared were the highlight. Don’t miss out on the foccacia to mop up the sauce from the prawns! Not a fan of Loveday gin though so please stock another brand behind your bar as well. Thankyou

The very best experience here last night celebrating a family birthday. From the exquisite cocktails, stunning njuda prawns and beautifully prepared lobster to the first class service with a special shout out to Dylan…this was a treat night, we all thoroughly enjoyed! We’ll be back!

We had a wonderful dinner with oysters and a mixed seafood platter with half a lobster. It was a fairly expensive meal but absolutely worth it. The seafood was fresh, very tasty and the portions were generous. I can highly recommend this place.

If you come to Falmouth, this venue is well worth a visit, it has a trendy comfortable vibe with fantastic views. The service and food is fantastic, with a comprehensive selection of fine wines. My wife and I came down and really enjoyed.

Had a selection of sharing plates at The Beach House and the food was delicious. Beer, cider & cocktails to suit. Great location and the service was quick and easy.

Our first visit for a special celebration and was more than amazed. The food and service was outstanding. The best bit was the menu and the food was so good with flavours I've never experienced so good before, thank you for making the evening special 💖. Just can't wait to go back.

Really relaxed lunchtime meal from the set menu. Two of our party were under the age of 6 and they catered for them perfectly. 1 dog also in attendance, welcome to sit with us in the outside dining area. A great lunch. Would recommend

6 of us came here for lunch today and what a lunch we had. To start we shared a selection from the starter menu mussels prawns and scallops all absolutely delicious with some of the breads and oil. The mains were equally as good I had the smoked haddock fish cake which again was lovely and some of the others had the plaice which they also enjoyed. Will definitely come back again.

Had an incredible meal at Hooked on the Rocks. Service was impressive, all be it a little slow at times but it was very business, the location is second to none and is just majestic views. The vibe and atmosphere was awesome.

S

We visited with the intent of getting the lobster and we were definitely not disappointed. We called ahead to check availability which I would recommend as it may not be available and it would save the disappointment. But I can hands down say that this is one of the best meals we have had (maybe ever!) for a special occasion. The food was unmatched and the staff were incredible. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food you are getting. The setting, location & interior decor is also incredible.

The Monday oyster deal is worth it. Oysters were fresh, plump and delicious. Pair it with some great cocktails during happy hour!

Just eaten here, OMG what a hidden gem. The food is amazing, if you’ve never been here then you need to. I can recommend the scallops and the buratta to start, we then had the tuna and the hake which was to die for and finally the chocolate tart for the finale, that didn’t disappoint. The sides were epic too. Really friendly staff, good price for what you get and the quality and taste is worth every penny.

Best seafood we have tried in UK so far !!! Me and my family came to celebrate my birthday on the 14th of September and the service was perfect and the explanation about the dishes was spotless too! Had to go there and shake the Headshef's hands ! Will be back in October from London! Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed the food and service. Both of us had lobster and also had fish starters which was delicious! The server was nice and talkative with us and was talking about the area and dishes which was a nice touch! We will be back!

Great seafront restaurant with lush view. Food was fantastic, especially the scallops they were amazing. Really friendly service and great drinks, not cheap but worth it for the quality, location and service. And dog friendly!

Sharing platter advertised on the online menu wasn’t available which was a shame. Food was good quality without being standout, maybe better in season

We had a very delicious meal here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great little fine with beautiful views. Would definitely recommend.

We went on a Sunday evening, not overly busy. The weather wasn't great so only a few people sitting outside. Service was good. Scallops and focaccia with the usual for starters...not enough oil but really flavoursome. Friend had duck which was really good with fries. I Had half a lobster which was over cooked in the main body but tender meat in the claws. All drinks were expensive for Cornwall, cocktails were good. The building is shabby and shack like which is fine...but prices were ridiculous overall in my opinion. Lovely waitress. Wouldn't rush to go back myself but many do. Slightly pretentious air about it but that is not unusual at time of year. Better places for fish dishes but maybe without the view.

Food good for what we had. A starter of Cod roe on foccacia with pickled cucumber, and mains of Grilled Mackarel on tomatoes and onions. My wife and I ordered the same dishes. Fish dish was on the small side so we ordered some skinny fries between us, which came hot and deliciously fried. Horrible weather outside, but since we didn't book ahead we had a table in and under the 'tent' extension. Not very pleasant but comfortable enough to eat. All in all, a good dinner.

Hooked was a fantastic experience both on terms of view, service, and food. The only reason for the 1 star less was the value for money and portion size. The day we went was a beautiful sunny day, so we requested to move from indoor to outdoor seating to enjoy the weather and the awesome view. It was my bro in law's birthday too, so Katie immediately checked and moved us to a free table outside. The service was prompt, and the I am told the food was really good. I couldn't taste anything other than my dish as I am Coeliac and the Thai Mussels in green sauce as that was #Gluten Free. The Scallops were the star of the meal, and 18 of them were devoured between 2 people. My only complaint was the waitress suggested the special of the day was a Turbot fish at 40+ Pounds but could be shared by 2 people, however when it arrived it was barely sufficient for 1 as there was only a few sautéed vegies with it. At 40 plus pounds, I would have expected a substantial meal with some mashed potatoes or rice and vegies. Because of this mis information, I was still quite hungry as I hadn't ordered any starters. All in all it was a great place with fabulous views, great service, good food and drink. I would definitely recommend it and go back again too.

We went on recommendation on an October Wednesday night & it was dead - only 4 other guests. The service from a young lady was impeccable, helpful & informative. The mussels were superb but we both had the sole on the bone in caper butter which was frankly swimming in butter oil to the point of being unappetising. Also more salt than Lot's wife. The bill with 2 glasses of wine was £123 & honestly that was incredible given the overall food quality. Maybe with no other bookings we hit them on a bad day but honestly I wouldn't give them a second chance out of season.

New Review: This place had a noticeable drop in quality in the last year of the old ownership and I thought I would give it another go under the new name. My first thought is that it’s new name, same chef. Obviously I can only go what we ordered. Lobster & Chips - Good Crab - Sad (almost just an empty crab) Bay Octopus - Sad Tuna Tartar - Sad We wanted to try a bit of everything and it would have been better if we stuck with 2x Lobster & Chips as normal. The service was fine and friendly but if you’re spending over £100 for 2 people you should leave feeling good. I think 3 stars is fair. ———————————————————————— Old Review 3 years previously: Went as a group and everyone had seafood. Crabs, Lobsters, Wild Prawns etc. All was great and and everyone had a great time. This place has got it right time after time!!!

Lovely setting, and I was fortunate enough to see a super moon whilst enjoying dinner with family. The service was prompt and discussed the menu. However, we did have a few items not available from the menu as they were sold out. We had the hot shellfish platter, which was wonderful, although there were no clams or mussels, but we did have additional prawns and scallops. I felt the wine list could have a few more choices, especially to compliment the wonderful fresh fish. Dessert choice was okay, but again, felt there could have been more of a choice. I would definitely recommend visiting, we will return but will book a table for not so late to allow for a full choice from the menu.

Kevin Farmer-backhouse

Food was very tasty, although you had to order sides seperatly with your main, which was disappointing when you spend £90 on a mains, you would expect to get sides, but this now seems the norm with resturants. The service was good but struggle to understand why there is an automatic service charge applied, although you can always ask for this to be taken off, i feel this puts people on the spot great location over looking the sea, but very pricey at £220 for what you actualy get, wouldnt return.

I went with a group of 4. The atmosphere was great! We all got oysters and an appetizer each plus a main meal each and 2 bottles of wine. The appetizers were amazing and wine was good! The main dishes were something left to be desired. My one friend got the duck and she was disappointed with the portion size. Another friend got the crab fettuccine and said there was barely any crab. I got the crab. The presentation was great, but there was barely any crab meat in the crab and it was over cooked. Of course not every crab will have a good amount of meat, but there was barely anything. It was not enough for a main. I was too polite to say anything, but my friends did as they saw me struggling to find any meat. The waitress was lovely and did her best when speaking with the manager, but the manager said she wouldn’t do anything about it. The waitress came back and said unfortunately there’s nothing she could do unless I wanted to submit a complaint, which was confusing since that’s what my friends had done. I didn’t want to cause a fuss so I just left it and paid. As I said, the appetizers were great, but main meals were something to be desired. DO NOT get the crab!

Didn't go to the Beach House restaurant as such. Had a snack and a couple of drinks ordered from the kiosk outside (orders then sent to the restaurant). Very nice place, also nice food, but very expensive. I went back for two more drinks as the tiny 200ml of coke was finished before I even sat down. I ordered 2 normal size bottles of lemonade and nearly fainted when I was told the price. £9!! Looking briefly at the restaurant menu, it looked very high end and of course very pricey. But like I said, nice place, nice food, but way too expensive for me.

Was travelling alone and heard really good things about this restaurant so booked a table for 1 for lunch as a treat before heading home. Lovely location and views. I had the crab risotto with a side of focaccia bread which was delicious, can’t complain about the food, but the service was unfortunately really disappointing. After being served my food I was completely ignored by staff. Wasn’t asked if I wanted another drink or anything else, sat with finished plates in front of me for well over 20 minutes while they seemingly ignored the corner I’d been sat in (sadly quite common when travelling solo). I would have ordered dessert but had to wait too long with no waiting staff in sight, in the end I was about to get up and go to the front desk when the waitress eventually took notice, but then on her way over started talking to another table near me. I basically had to shout across the room for my bill still with dirty plates in front of me. No asking if everything was ok, no apology for slow service, no asking if I wanted anything else. Came away from my end of holiday treat quite disappointed and would expect better trained staff for a lunch that cost £40+ for one person.

Previously named Hooked on the Rocks - I've been going here when down in Falmouth for several years now, but is the change any good? Honestly I'm still trying to figure the link between the seaside location of the restaurant and the assembled skiing (note as in snow/mountains and not the sea) equipment displays along with a varied selection of postcards again centred around snow/mountain ideals. It seemed slightly out of keeping to my mind. Anyway onto the service and the food ... Service furst and the lady who seated and served us was friendly albeit on her own and dealing with all customers - not such an issue today as the restaurant was only partially full but on a busier day I'd hope she has some help. Notable was the noise, aka the restaurant music! This needs turning down just a little and indeed I know others have asked but have been told they can't turn it down further - that im my opinion is absolute poppy cock, but then again who are we who ask ... just the customers I suppose. Food wise we'd gone for scallops and chips; tasty but the scallops were minescule! Kindly the charged these at half price, so thank you for that it is noted. What is missing from the menu is the fish and chip option though ... a shame and something they really need to bring back, making sure it's good of course. We decided to have a desert - the crumble and custard was lovely with a good selection of nuts in the topping but the Affogato was sadly at best average - all it would need is better ice cream really, so are the team at Beach House missing a trick here I wonder? Anyway all in all a good meal but due to the slight "issues" I've noted I can only award 3 *'s rather than the 4 I gave when we last visited.

Initially a lovely welcoming atmosphere, only stopped for a drink, went to sit outside but unfortunately started to rain so took a seat in the awning area. We laughed and giggled, enjoyed our drink and as the sun came out we decided to sit on the bench outside on the terrace (as photographed)... we were then approached with our bill "incase we were going to run" and informed that the benches belong to the food wagon on the lower terrace. We then moved to the benches directly infront of the awning to which it then began to rain again... we, along with everyone else sat outside (who hadn't been judged and accused of potentially "running") moved inside of the awning again - my partner helped an elderly lady with her dogs out of the rain where we were then approached again by the same member of staff to be told we couldn't sit there - we were standing finishing our drinks before leaving as i informed her. A real shame as we were talking whilst there about returning for food but given the utter judgmental mentality probably because we weren't in their preferred attire, im unsure I will return! Yes we did pay!!

This was our last night in Falmouth and met up with family who live out here. Emma, the manager, was amazing and managing a booking for us at 5pm on Tuesday night and we were so looking forward to eating here, especially as the restaurant had such a good reputation. We sat at the tables within the enclosure; we asked if we could sit on the sunny side and were told that these were reserved for locals. When I asked how come they could book these but we couldn't', we were told they know to order them by table number and we would have to move when someone came. We did sit on the sunny side and no one came during our time there. On the whole, service was disjointed. Lots of delays ordering drinks, then food; people waiting at the entrance for a period to time to be seated constantly. Food was good. I can see where the reputation of this being a decent restaurant comes from but the service needs to match the price they charge as at the moment, it's way off. They just need to work out their service, make sure to get orders in and communicate well between staff. IE No idea of specials (we weren’t told about them), burger off the menu, one of our party was so looking forward to, replacement was steak in sauce (not a burger!!). Asked for sauces and waitresses walked off to deal with people waiting. When she came back, had to ask if she’d heard what we asked for as just walked off with no acknowledgment. She explained they’d opened downstairs and it was getting busy. Dessert menus were soiled with food stains which is not acceptable when you have disposable paper menus under covid. Great food. Not great service. Would normally turn a blind eye but not at this price.

We came when this place was hooked on the rocks and loved it. Unfortunately the re-brand misses the mark. The staff came across pretty rude. An example of which, was when we came to pay. The waiter just put the card machine on our table with our amount in and walked off. When he came back to collect the card machine he ripped off the receipt and walked off. No thank you or anything. The food was ok but to be honest…. Overpriced for what it was.

The food is alright but the music is ear splittingly loud to the point that it ruins the experience. We'll not be back despite being regular visitors to Swanpool Beach. It's worth bearing in mind that the overall review score includes reviews from the previous restaurant, Hooked on the Rocks, which was much better.

R

Incredible food in a stunning beachside location. The local scallops were cooked to perfection and the fish and chips, amazing, genuinely. We were totally wowed by it all, especially as we were expecting the usual seaside burger joint upon approach... how wrong we were! 🙂 Can't recommend this place and its wonderfully attentive staff highly enough.

We were really looking forward to this, but unfortunately the food was a big disappointment. £120 spent and we ended up grabbing a pizza back at the hotel — which probably says it all. The staff were genuinely lovely, but the food just didn’t deliver.
