Opinions de Blue Bay Diner Flushing
Great classic diner with huge portions! The cornbeef hash and freah hashbrowns were cooked to perfection. They can get busy in the morning weekend times. Be prepared to wait. Very kid/family friendly!
Love Blue Bay Diner. It's one of my favorite spots in Queens. I don't mind making a trip here from Astoria with friends and family. Worth it 💯. Excellent food. Top notch service. Very clean. Big portion of food. Good prices. There is plenty of safe parking. Great neighborhood. I have zero complaints! Highly recommend 👌🏽 I'll give 10 stars 🌟 💫⭐️✨️🌠🌟🤩💫⭐️✨️🤘🏼
Omg enjoyed the atmosphere here, Very delicious breakfast and the portion were Hugeeee!! Plus for me was the parking lot LOL
This is my step-dad favorite place. The staff and food are excellent . The is always parking too.
This is one of my favorite diners in New York City. Classic and well run Greek diner. The food is always made with quality ingredients. Everything we ordered was delicious. The purple Cole slaw was unique and delicious. The staff is professional and accommodating. Bravo to the management.
Wonderful. Great portions with pricing to match. Understand that. The prices match the portions of food you receive. Everything is well seasoned and the staff is Wonderful. It's spacious enough for a group outing and there's so much parking available. It is wheelchair accessible. I love this staff.
Good was great, my party of 5 was sat pretty quickly as the place was busy. All of us loved our food and there was plenty of leftovers. All the wait staff were very nice and sang my mom Happy Birthday.
I have eaten here quite a few times in the past (mostly dinner time) & I must say the food is quite delicious (my favorite being the lemon chicken soup. The service is great & staff are always attentive. The atmosphere is also great just that it’s right by a busy road. 4.8/5 best diner in Queens ⭐️
Been coming here with family for what feels like decades. Everything on the menu I’ve tried since has ranged from good to fantastic, haven’t been let down once! The burgers are big and juicy, fries cooked perfectly, great breakfast options, even the roumanian steak is delicious. It was sad when the diner exterior became red instead of blue after a renovation 😢
OMGGG AMAZING SERVICE & food is OUTSTANDING.. the staff is EXTREMELY attentive and willing to help with all your needs. Our server Yigael was so good. He paced our meal. He asked if we needed anything else and continued to come and check in on us. He was outstanding. Very courteous and warm hearted. Just beware They up charge 3.5 % with credit cards so bring cash. Overall amazing amazing no complaints. We will definitely be back. SUPER GREAT.
Wonderful NY diner experience. Definitely not the cheapest, but do you want cheap, or do you want quality? I've never had a bad meal. The corned beef hash pictured was made from scratch. The burgers- everything down to the bun made in house. Come hungry, large portions. Save room for one of the many cakes and pastries. All great.
I always go to this diner after class by myself for some wings and fries, they have the best atmosphere , the vibes are so great and the staff is always friendly and welcoming!!! Love coming here🫶🏻
The chicken corn chowder was great and filling and the side plate Greek salad was loaded. Could not finish the main course.
Had a wonderful experience at this diner! Our waiter kindly noticed my wife was pregnant and offered us a more spacious table, which we really appreciated. The food was delicious, service was quick, and the prices were very fair. Highly recommend!
What a nice place to eat off the I495-LongIslandExpressway. A server by the name Rebecca took excellent care of met grandmother and her friend. Food was amazing had the Texas Burger and it was delicious and huge. The establishment has a beautiful deco classic diner and an amazing atmosphere. Very hustling. Had a cake after I believe it’s called the Neapolitan and for a single piece it can easy fill a family of four. Again I will be revisiting this establishment again
The food was flavorful with generous portions, and every dish tasted homemade. The owner was present and very welcoming, and our waitress was friendly and patient while we took our time ordering.
I've been driving by Blue Bay for almost 20 years and this was my first time actually stopping by. Now it might be my go to weekly diner stop. Everything was done great, atmosphere was very relaxing, staff was courteous and polite and more importantly didn't make you feel rushed as I sat at the counter this morning. Food was served hot, fresh and tasty. You can tell they don't just throw it on a plate. A person always eats with their eyes first. Definitely coming back.
Thank you Blue Bay Diner for being open 24/7! It's a salvation when you want to eat at night. We stopped by at 3 a.m., and the food was as fresh and delicious as it was during the day. The service is fast, despite the lateness of the hour. They helped me out more than once!
The one thing that you have to know about this diner is that it's expensive. Prices are a little hard. Other than that, the food is excellent. Ample parking courteous service. I love the place. You will get what you pay for 99% of the time
According to my son The food was super good and appetizing. The restaurant was super organized and beautiful.
If you are looking for breakfast, I recommend the eggs Benedict. The cheeseburgers are delicious.. overall great diner .
Excellent attention. Good parking space. Very friendly staff. Delicious food 😋 👏👏👏full recommended
Came here for many many years. Either it's for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even nighttime hangout, the food there are great. I love their omelettes. My kids love their pancakes with bacon! We always order their fresh squeeze orange juice. My husband and I can't find any other diner as good as theirs.
Went to the Blue Bay with my family for Sunday Brunch. Always a good time and the food is delicious. A real gem for the Fresh Meadows/Bayside community. A+
Met up with my brother to have breakfast on labor day. We both ordered french toast platter; HUGE serving and the food was delicious. Service was fast and our waiter was very nice (I'm annoyed at myself because I cannot remember his name). The place was already crazy busy at 9am and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and spending time with family/friends. Overall a great experience, will definitely come back.
Blue Bay checks all boxes when it comes to a diner. Went with a group of 4 on a Saturday, at 9:45. Waited for 5 mins and was seated. Big menu, fast and friendly service. $15 minimum per person, also they don’t rush you out so you have time to chat and digest. Complimentary coffee refills were nice,. Would come back.
Blue Bay Diner is a popular local spot, and we’re always happy with the food. It consistently delivers that classic comfort food at a competitive price, which is appreciated, especially with so many places closing these days. That said, the service could be improved. We often find ourselves having to track down our server for coffee refills and other basics. The restroom is also quite small and tends to run low on supplies during busy weekends. Overall, though, it remains a reliable choice for a good, hearty meal.
Popular local diner, always happy with the food. Service could take it up a notch as we always seem to have to hunt down our server for coffee, refills, etc. Bathroom is small and not well stocked with supplies, especially on busy weekends. Overall, in a landscape of closing eating establishments, Blue Bay Diner still offers good old comfort food at a competitive price.
Nice local diner. The prices were higher than average but the servings were huge. Service was very nice, too. The Niçoise salad didn’t come with any protein unless you asked (and paid extra) which was unusual as that dish would almost always have fish. For the price, that dish was disappointing. However, we enjoyed our sandwiches, sweet potato fries and soups. It was nice to see healthy options including the cottage cheese and fruit salad. They also have a nice range of classic American and Greek desserts.
I treat myself here every other week. You get great portions. The food quality is great. The staff is friendly and polite. They don’t rush you like many diners do.
I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit to Blue Bay Diner, the environment was clean, inviting and friendly. The service was fast, the prices are reasonable and most importantly the food was excellent, I ordered the Greek burger platter, it was mouth-watering and flavorful, so delicious!!! It was a nice place for one of my colleagues, a good friend of mine, to bring me to celebrate 🥳 my retirement. I just love❤️ Blue Bay Diner and I recommend it to all other visitors to come and experience it for yourselves.
First off, they should call it Blue Bay Big Food Dinner. Servings were huge. Our waiter was fantastic, we never waited for refills,or had to ask for extra anything(napkins, sugar etc) The ribeye portion was very generous as was the Club, Steak Quesadilla and French Toast. We could not have enjoyed our experience anymore than we did, 100 percent recommend Blue Bay Dinner.
I have been coming here for over 20 years. I have friends here who are servers. The new owners are pleasant and professional. The servers are courteous and friendly. It's a little pricey but the food is soooo good. They give you so much on the plate. It's well worth coming here. It's clean and very pleasant. I give it 5 stars. 👍
I visited Blue Bay Diner this morning with a friend, and it was a wonderful experience. I arrived a little early, sat at the counter, and enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee and a tomato juice. The waitress was friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. When my friend arrived, we moved to a booth. I ordered an American cheese omelet with fries, and she ordered three eggs over easy with sausage and home fries. Our meals came out quickly, and everything was absolutely delicious—hot, fresh, and perfectly cooked. Both of us were very happy with the food and the excellent service. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!
My husband and I go to Blue Bay every weekend—it's truly our favorite spot, hands down. I prefer it over any restaurant, and for good reason. The food is absolutely delicious, with generous portions and incredibly fresh ingredients. The salads are always crisp and refreshing—better than anywhere else we've been. Every dish we've tried tastes like a homemade meal, filled with care and flavor. The staff are warm, patient, and go out of their way to accommodate. The desserts are all made in-house and are perfect. The old-school atmosphere is so inviting—spotlessly clean, polished, and full of charm. It feels comforting, familiar, and like home. This is definitely our go-to place. A big thank you to everyone at Blue Bay for consistently amazing food and service! You are the best!
Came to have breakfast here with my family for my grandmas 93rd birthday. The food was really good they gave very big portions. We asked them to sing happy birthday to my grandma, along with a slice of cheese cake, which was soooo good! Best cheesecake I've ever had! A group of the waitresses came to sing. Made it really cute for my grandma. The service was good. Our waitress was very attentive, definitely coming back.
The food is flavorful and the portions are generous. The dishes we ordered tasted like home made! The owner was there and was super hospitable. The waitress was nice and patient when we took time to order. Very accommodating to large groups as well. All deserts are made in house. We tried the Black Forest cake which was rich and decadent.
This was a great place. First time at a diner tbh. My friend told me that diners are amazing so I had to try it out. I got the chicken chipotle sandwich with the deluxe option that came with fries and onion rings while my friend got French toast with the 3 egg cheese omelette with bacon. He seemed to enjoy the cheese egg. I didn’t try it because I’m not a fan of American cheese (fight me 😴). The French toast was great! Soft, sweet and with little sugar and cinnamon in it but well balanced especially with the syrup. The presentation was good. Not so exceptional for the French toast but I’m not complaining, I still devoured one of it 🌝. As for my food, it’s was amazing. The chipotle chicken sandwich portion was bigger than I had anticipated. I had asked how big it was gonna be but it still exceeded my expectations 😭 I took one half home and ate it the next day lol. It was really good. The spicy flavour of the chipotle with the creamy avocado that was so fresh and the soft ness of the brioche bun and then the nice texture of the chicken. It was so good. I kinda wish the chicken was a lil more seasoned but it was still good! The first were great! The onion rings were so crunchy and flavorful, I wish I had more. The service was amazing! The people were patient and really nice. They were so welcome and overall, I’ll be back again 🫡🌝
This is a really good diner. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The management is present and also very attentive, checking on tables frequently- which is rare at a diner. The location is easily accessible and there is ample parking. The food quality is very good. I also like the music selection- very calming and chill, low key French lounge music, which is interesting for a diner, but very welcome and soothing. I really do like this diner and I think many others do as well. I've been here many times. I usually have their Cobb salad, burgers, gyro platter, souvlaki platter or an omlette. All have been very tasty, good quality and nice portions.
A little wait at peak hours, but worth it..The coffee service needs to improve( that's why the 4 stars for service) Over all very good.
You can't go wrong with the food nor the portion of it. They serve in a large plate which is a huge plus nowadays where most restaurants portion is getting smaller. Though the price is quite high for a diner. I guess this is the new norm nowadays. But could be lowered a tad. This place is packed when we were there but all the staff knew exactly what they were doing in serving the customers. I would recommend this place for the food.
The food was okay, wasn't hot enough for my taste, staff was very nice, place was very crowded. My only complaint with the food was it was warm, not hot. Could have been because the place was packed
The portion is what I like about this place. Compare to other diners, it is definitely a money-worth. The taste was great and this has been my go-to diner for breakfast. Only downside was that when I went there last time with my wife and my little daughter who definitely needs a high-chair, the server inexplicably led us to a table with bench although I held my daughter in my arm, and when I asked for a round table, he kinda grimaced and made a face like, “Oh, what a nuisance”, but because I wanted to have a quality time with my family, I didn’t say a word. That’s the reason I am giving a 4-star instead of 5, so that this place won’t get complacent and pay more attention on treating the customers.
I love diners. They have their own spirit. On a rainy day we only order a hot matzo ball soup. It was good,my son order a burger he was happy with that . A bit pricey. $50 for 3 soup and a burger. But they serve big portions. The bread (challah) must be really good I can tell, because my kids finish it in a second. I didn’t try any desserts but all looks very delicious! I loved the light jazz music… Service was really fast and parking easy.
It has been a minute since I've been to an old-school New York dinner, and the Blue Bay Dinner didn't disappoint. The food was good. The Chicken and Waffles were just delicious. The Waffles were perfectly cooked but the star of the show was the Buttermilk Chicken. The Chicken was flavorful and juicy. I never had Red Cabbage Coleslaw before but I really enjoyed it. It was sweet without being overpowering. The Cappuccino was heavenly.
One of the best diners in Queens! Always and when I mean always, busy. And that speaks for itself. The food is great, and plentyful! The service is good. I'd say too busy to be great, the biggest leg down is the price. Things can add up pretty quickly here. Have the kids order off the kids menu and thing of sharing a meal to save some money. If not spend a bunch and have a good time. Even saw a celebrity eating here with his family one busy Sunday afternoon
Everything was very good, the only thing I can complain about is that, they were not very good about refilling your coffee, or touching base with the table to see if we needed anything else. I guess I am used to the way the diners in Long Island quickly refill your coffee, and continusly check on the table, that I was expecting the same from a similar diner in Queens. But, an overall good experience. Very nice people.
1. Big and busy restaurant. I try not to go for lunch or dinner hours. I have been going to this place for years. Never fail. 2. Foods are always excellent. For food price not bad. They give a lot, so no complaints. Lol 3. Employees are friendly, but sometimes, there are unfriendly workers too.
Their menu is VERY big and a bit overwhelming, especially because of the font! Very busy morning and we were attended in less than 10 mins for a table for three. Our waitress was friendly but forgot to get some of our drinks, but I understand it happens. I ordered the Romanian steak and eggs, it did not disappoint. Steak was medium cooked as I requested. I do wish my hash brown was not as crispy, felt like I was eating potato chips. Overall would visit again.
Super busy dinner, always a crowd when I come. They must be a neighborhood gem. Helps that there's a shared parking lot as part of the strip mall. Indoor and outdoor dining available but it seems indoors is the place to be. Menu is about four pages front and back. It's been streamlined already believe it or not. Cash is King but credit cards accepted, just know you're paying 3.5% more. Prices on the menu are reflective of cash. Breakfast is the go to choice for all day. Can't go wrong with a salad either, they are huge portions! Plenty of soup options besides the "soup of the day" so do ask. Service was great - food was good. Classic diner, no complaints. (They have almond milk if you don't want milk or half and half for your drinks).
The food was good. Fresh squeezed oj, the corn beef hash was home made. Not from a can and the service was great. Very expensive though. It was two of us. We both had omelets, cornbeef hash, toast, juice and coffee and with a tip it cost $74. That alone would keep me from going there again
Went to Blue Bay Diner for a late night quick bite while in the area. The fare was as expected for the usual eggs and bacon platter. Sunny side up was made right and portions were more than enough. Plenty of parking so that's not a problem.
The food was okay honestly nothing to obsess over, had some French toast with bacon, the bacon was soggy & so were the frech fries. Very pricey as well
I was here week ago. The food was fine, but the service really affected the experience. Even though the diner wasn’t busy, our table was cleared after one hours, and the server questioned me for ordering coffee refill “why more coffee?“😓 It made the visit uncomfortable, which is disappointing for a place I hoped to enjoy.
Consistent bang for your buck! A group of us came here for lunch and the food was very good! You get a huge amount of food that is very delicious! The service here is quick and attentive as you would expect! The place does get very crowded certain times of the day, so I would plan according! Overall, great diner!
Old school diner that are a dying breed these days. Love places like this and glad I came. The Fresh baked muffins and other treats on the counter tops are a must order. The banana muffin toasted with a little butter was a welcome breakfast for me. Breakfast is my go to at diners and this one didn’t disappoint. Is it 5 stars? No… but its a solid 3.5.
We treated our couple friend to breakfast this morning, who both seemed satisfied. Their omelettes, crunchy hash browns, pancakes, toasts and french fries were fresh, tasty and big portions. Service was prompt and attentive. However, I find their rates that don’t include coffee, tea pricey! They charge higher for non-cash payment.
First time visiting and very disappointed. The waiter was nice but the food and overall experience was not so pleasant. Diet Coke was watered down, so did the chicken noodle soup. I ordered a roasted beef club and it was bland. There’s no flavor at all. My husband ordered a meatball hero and it was not bad. The waiter was friendly and kind. However, when we paid our bill, I noticed a surcharge and I was told it’s because I used a credit card. There was a small sign by the cashier on the right side showing that a debit card wouldn’t have a surcharge. I wish I was told because I did have a debit card with me at the time. I know there’s a lot of positive reviews but my experience could have been better. We won’t come back for sure.
Food was good. Service was bad. I after I got my meal, our waiter disappeared. No coffee refill, no water. I had to kept calling other waiters. I asked to take my food away and they just threw it in the take away dish. I suggest selling Crème brûlée in to go dishes because just scooping it out and throwing it in a dish is horrible.
Okay I like the place the vibe is cozy and comfortable. The music is not to loud it's just right to the ears. The setting of the diner makes you feel at home. The food I ordered was the Belgian waffles, egg whites and hash brown fries along side with French toast and four slices of toast. They also hand squeeze the oranges to make orange juice which is good I give that a 7/10. The food that I ordered well I give it a 6/10 due to the fact the taste wasn't all that great and also I spotted the a tiny bug with wings (I'm really good at spotting these things especially when it comes to food which I'm putting into my body) and we were giving a discount but it wasn't a real discount the waiter didn't add the food I found the bug in to the bill that's all. Overall cozy place but the cooks need to be more cleaner and carefull how they handle the foods.
Dec 2025 Awful fried chicken overcooked and flavorless. Broccoli sauteed with garlic oil was just steamed broccoli with a ton of chopped garlicin oil dumped on top of the serving dish.
Food was good, the toast was however burnt. The service was so so til the end when the waitress and waiter try to rush us out with a check saying there is a need for other people waiting which is NOT true as I went to the restroom and passed by and saw no one was waiting anymore for tables. Please don't rush people to hurry and finish. Also didn't like the fact that while we are eating, they went vacuuming the same time. Dust could be flown to the air on people's food. They could have waited. Also window shades should be down when it's the midday. Not everyone wants the sun shining on them heating up.
Used to come here all the time for a hefty and good-tasting breakfast, but they've been increasing the prices year after year. This place is way too expensive and significantly more expensive compared to other diners. Very unfortunate.
I wish the fact that they have a $15 per person minimum on Saturdays was posted more clearly. My mom and I went in for warm drinks one evening and were embarrassed to have to move from a table to the counter partway through our stay. They said it was written on the menu but I didn't see it and it wasn't on the door or the website. My mom was frustrated that they moved us even though there were many empty tables.
I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere of the diner upon walking in, so with high expectations I dined at Blue Bay Diner. I can say with confidence that those expectations were misplaced. Service: 1/5 I came in at a decently crowded time, where about 50% of the restaurant was full. However, I saw my waiter a grand total of 2 times: one to take our order, and another to give us our check. As for taking our orders, he was dismissive and barely even glanced at us, and didn’t say anything besides ‘anything else?’. My table also had to ask multiple times for refills on water and coffee, as the waitstaff seemed to just forget once they were asked. Food: 5/5 I ordered corned beef hash with two eggs, which came with another side of hash and two slices of toast. The food was absolutely spectacular, being some of the best hash I’ve eaten. However, someone else at my table ordered a burger, cooked medium well. It came more cooked than well done, without a single trace of pink inside. Aside from that, the food was spectacular. Atmosphere: 4/5 The atmosphere is just superb inside the diner. The counter, the decor, the music, and the overall feel of the place was just unmatched. Everything just radiates top-quality diner energy, which is just wonderful. However, I’m not a fan of the chairs as they were slightly uncomfortable and the space between tables is a bit tight. I must also add that the price is definitely up there. I ended up paying 22-ish dollars for a plain hamburger deluxe. Compared to some other diners, the price is quite high. The prices of dinners, combos and anything else is definitely in the upper range, especially compared to other diners. You might end up spending quite a bit here, and the price tag might not be worth it. Overall, the food and atmosphere are wonderful but ultimately undercut by the lackluster service. Blue Bay Diner is definitely a decent diner, with great food and atmosphere, but the prices and subpar service make it one of the lower-tiered diners in my opinion.
horrible experience. clip joint diner. waiters pad the bill. service horrible, will never set foot in that clip joint ever again
horrible experience. clip joint diner. waiters pad the bill. service horrible, will never set foot in that clip joint ever again
BE AWARE!! Staff was busy at times to accommodate our party of 10. However, that's understandable....After receiving my bill i proceeded to the cashier. after using my debit card there was a UP CHARGE OF NEARLY $10 more than the check stated.. After asking the cashier what's the reason for the up change .. she stated because i used my card. I find this to be totally ridiculous and not customary for businesses to charge customers extra for using a debit card.Especially after spending a significant amount of money.. WILL NOT RETURN .. and will spread the word as much as i could.. totally unfair to valued costumers that has supported this place for years!!
Worst place i have ever been to! 40 min wait for some egg and sausage breakfast! While all the ppl came in after us got their food in 5-10 min. And they got the nerve to ask for a tip!? 🤨 never again!
I do not think I have ever had a moree dissapointing meal at a restaurant than I had this morning. The Blue Diner was always overpriced and crowded because the service was good and the food and portions were above average. Because of the pricing and health reason I have stayed away from eating out in general and the Blue Bay diner specifically. my wife and I went this morning, first sing weekend morning no line half the tables were empty. Price on the menu shocked me I was expecting that. however when the waitress came over and I ordered home fries with my breakfest I was told only hash browns. THIS IS NYC, how the hell does a diner not offer home fries. Are you going to take burgers away too or maybe matzah ball sou should not be on the menu. But i tell the waitress to cook them well done. What to I get a basic soggy soup of shreded potatoes that crunch because the potatoes were basically not cooked Of course I send then back a very brown on the outside but soggy and soupy remained no spicing at all completly bland. My ommelette was also bland and flavourless, It was a third western ommlete because they use a third of the ham a normal ommelette would have. But the bill came 50 dollars for 2, no real extras to common breakfast orders for 2. I was prepared to spend that much because i thought I would get an above average breakfast, what I got was a disgrace. Of course i complained and it met complete deaf ears and uncaring that a customer was unsatisfied. no wonder the lines are gone on a Saturday morning and the diner is half filled.
Train your young females on how to treat customers 8pm 2/26 .. come to pick up my food and they have no manners as if we are young classmates or something .. female handing out carry out orders
Used to be a loyal customer, but had a horrific experience on Christmas Day. It was understandably busy, but I was served a literal raw burger. I asked for Medium Rare, and got deep red/purple inside AND OUTSIDE, making it dangerously inedible. Even the waiter, who spilled a drink on us and got our orders wrong, was stunned and commented "That's raw!", just to walk away and do nothing about it. Was still charged for it! Worst of all, I witnessed waiter making someone visibly uncomfortable. One of us also got sick from the salmon. What happened to this place? Incredibly disappointed as a long-time customer...
Can you repeat after me.. GARBAGE!! This place is terrible. I have to be honest, so the “tea” on this place is, it is OVERRATED for cold, half way decent OVERPRICED food. I came for breakfast and the waitress was not very friendly which was ok but the fact that my toast were freezing cold, my hashbrowns were undercooked and the bacon and ham were warm was NOT cool. The only thing I liked was the OJ but I was not happy to spend over $7 for it. Next issue was, while I was eating, the greeter came and took one of the chairs to accommodate another table. He never said excuse me. I didn’t need the chair but he could have asked. Everything about this place sucked. I am so disappointed because I needed a go to breakfast spot. I wish I could give a zero rating because they could care less about these bad reviews because people still frequent this establishment.
First i work right next door i called in to try and place an order and the manager rafael had an attitude over the phone being nasty telling me i cannot order over the phone to sit in and im on my lunch break. Secondly i asked for a well done burger with ketchup and mayonnaise and this is what i got a pink burger with a ton of mayonnaise no ketchup on the burger or on the side. Usually my service here is great but after today worst service ive ever had i will not be coming back mind you i paid 15$ for just a burger. I am pregnant and cannot eat any raw meats, this service was disgusting.
This place had horrible customer service and I actively watched a manager Jose yell and embarrass a employee while all the customers and I watched. This could have been easily solved behind closed doors. I had a pancake with an hair literally cooked within the batter and I was disgusted. A place where family always had a dinner quickly turned into a horrible mess of a morning.
The hot chocolate was really good. Outside of my company, that was the best part of the entire visit. The rest of the food was ok. Basic diner food flavor. The staff was all polite. My main issue and reason for the poor rating was asking for a minor request that was denied by the manager because they were more concerned about how it would "look" to other patrons. The ask was for plastic utensils for 1 person at a table of 2. The esthetic of 1 person using plastic utensils in a space where there was maybe 50 other people paying absolutely no attention to the 1 was a concern but not the scratched up water cups that were provided making it more than obvious they had been in use for quite some time. Neither the diner nor its decor is by any means new. So the big concern with how 1 person using plastic utensils would look is laughable. A person should not have to disclose personal medical information to a random person for such a request. And yes, it was only after it was clarified for the manager that the need was due to a medical condition that they agreed. Honestly, I don't care what reason anyone gives for the request warranted that response. Someone may just not want to eat with utensils that thousands and thousands of others have used. We are expected to just trust that the sanitization process is sufficient or even done properly. I'm not saying don't go here. Decide for yourself. This was simply my experience.
Recently visited for breakfast during their lunch special from 12-4 and was surprisingly disappointed. The food was mediocre and very tasteless . Order the steak and eggs, and they do not have home fries. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! Also orders the mushroom omelette and it was very blah. No vegetables or anything. The service was okay, so many different people bringing water/tea then your food. It’s so confusing. I will not be coming back.
