Went to this restaurant for the first time with my mother, what an excellent choice. The food was probably the best Pakistani food I have had in North America. Needless to say, the service was great where we were greeted and checked upon to ensure everything was well. The taste was authentic and reminded me good cooked back home. A must try if you haven’t been there! I will definitely be planning to visit again with my entire family! Thank you :)
Impeccable Pakistani cuisine. From Northern classics to Karahis to cool drinks. Service is amazing and the vibe is there too. The only thing i’d say is music is a bit too loud. The thing that really stood out was the beef and chicken kebabs. Juicy spicy and flavorful Pakistani skewers, will be coming back for this. Waiter was super nice and attentive, no complaints putting Pakistan on the map
It was a wedding anniversary of Mamom Adnan and Fatima dinner at 11 pm late night by Famous Shirazi karahi New york USA. I visited last week during my visit to USA with my father! Highly recommended to visit that place! It was a summer but clouds make the atmosphere excited! Family reunion and visited with my best friend and Mamon Adnan hussain Mirza’s family! As i spent most of the with him during my stay in USA. It was a great experience to spent some holidays in USA.
We decided to visit Shirazi Karahi House today, right before a winter snowstorm, and it turned out to be the best decision. The snowy weather called for something warm and hearty, and their goat karahi hit the spot. We arrived just an hour after they opened at 12:00 PM, and for the first time, the restaurant was relatively empty—likely because of the timing. It was a nice change of pace since this spot is usually packed (not a bad thing, but a quieter setting was just what we needed). We started with the Chicken 65, and let me tell you—it was incredible. The chicken was perfectly crispy, juicy, and had the right amount of spice with a jalapeño kick. The portion size was generous, and even with three of us sharing, we couldn’t finish it all at once. For an appetizer, it was beyond satisfying. Next came the Lahori Fish, which had a nice flavor but a bit more coating than I’d prefer. While the batter didn’t take away from the taste entirely, I feel a lighter coating would’ve allowed the fish to shine more. The portion was slightly smaller than expected compared to other places at a similar price. Additionally, we had to request fresh lemon, which they provided promptly, but it would have been nice to have it served initially. That said, the chutney paired well with the fish, making it enjoyable overall. We also tried the Chicken Cheese Kebabs and a Beef Kebab. They were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. However, the cheese was sprinkled on top rather than integrated into the kebabs, which was a unique presentation compared to other places I’ve been. Nonetheless, they were delicious, and we had no complaints. The highlight of our meal was the Goat Karahi, which we ordered by the pound. It was flavorful, tender, and more than enough for the three of us—probably could’ve served four! The karahi was prepared quickly, and I think we beat the rush because everything came out much faster than usual. Even when it’s busy, the wait is worth it, but this time we were thrilled with how quickly we were served. To end the meal, we enjoyed their hot, freshly brewed chai, which never disappoints. It was the perfect finish to a fantastic lunch. A special shoutout to the servers, who were attentive and quick to address anything we needed. What I really appreciate about Shirazi Karahi House is the personal touch—they go above and beyond. On this visit, the chef came out to check how everything was, and I always value that attention to detail and care. If I had one piece of feedback, it would be that the restaurant could benefit from expanding. The space, while cozy, often gets crowded, which can affect service during peak hours. That said, every visit I’ve had has been enjoyable, whether with family or friends. Overall, Shirazi Karahi House delivered again. The food, service, and atmosphere made it well worth the drive, and it’s a must-visit spot for anyone who loves authentic and flavorful dishes. Highly recommended, especially if you want a warm, satisfying meal during chilly weather!
For a Pakistani spot in NYC, 10/10! The food is authentically Pakistani and the interior is very nicely decorated as well which is new for NYC. We ordered the Goat Karahi, Butter Chicken, and Garlic Naan. All were great although the butter chicken was a bit too tomatoey for my liking. They even did a fire show for us which was alright lol but if you’re into that, definitely request it! The pricing of the Karahi did catch us off guard especially when we received a small portion. Pricing for everything was decent. It seems service has improved - we had very kind and respectful waiters. Our goat Karahi had too many bones in it compared to meat, so we made the waiter aware, and the chef himself came out to discuss with us and offered more goat Karahi (with meaty pieces) and complimentary firni which was really yummy! Their menu is very broad, the vibes are very family-oriented, and I definitely will be visiting again to try other items on the menu! Highly recommend especially for big family/friend outings.
Terrific #Pakistani food. Spicy #Samosa with the best tamarind sauce in Queens. The chicken #Biryani was very good. We also had #80, 3 meats and rice. Portions were generous we had lots of extra to take home. Staff not knowledgeable, I had to speak to the chef to get answers.
My friend took me out for dinner and they have been talking about Shirazi Karahi for a long time. Loved their chicken tikka and tandoori kebab. Its right amount of flavor around the char instead of tasting burnt. With the mint and yoghurt the bites tasted fresh. The kebabs came with a side of rice. We also ordered Goat Karahi, Garlic Naan, Butter Naan and Sweet Lassi. Goat Karahi is a must. The meat was tender and it paired with naan the whole meal was a chefs kiss. Definitely recommended. It was bit crowded though because of the weekend so please make reservations beforehand if you are going with a big crowd.
We recently visited this restaurant for lunch with family friends, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with their chicken kabobs and BBQ chicken. The chicken salan was also quite good. However, the other salans were just average, with the chicken salan being the standout dish. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. It was very slow, and the staff seemed inattentive. We were not given accurate wait times for our food; they kept saying it would be ready in 3 to 5 minutes, but it actually took 15 to 25 minutes. Additionally, they were unresponsive when we needed more water or other items. We asked for more naans, and they took so long that our friends decided not to eat anymore as the salans had gone cold. As for desserts, the kulfi was the highlight, while the falooda and other desserts were just okay. Overall, while the food has its highlights, especially the chicken dishes, the service needs significant improvement to ensure a better dining experience.
Took 2 stars off for customer service. Their food is eligible for 5 stars. August 2023: we dined in today for lunch. The food was good as usual, but management should work on customer service. For 15 mins, no one came to us to take order, then they brought out rice after 20 minutes' wait. Then it seemed like they forgot about the rest of the order. Kunna came after 20 minutes of biryani... then we had to remind the attended that we ordered naan too and need to eat kunna... anyhow, please work on your customer service. Wait time is bearable if you serve the whole order together so customers can enjoy the dine in. It wasn't that much busy. Cook came out to ask us why we didn't eat properly. I explained to him that their "serving" spoiled our appetite. He mentioned being short of staff as ots Tuesday and lunch time they usually have more staff in the evenings. It seemed like there was only 1 person in the kitchen with 1 server and 1 receptionist. It was a good gesture by the cook to come out (he was serving ppl, too) and ask us as we were packing most of our order. We ordered chicken biryani, kunna, Sesame naan, and tawa chicken. January 2023: The food was good, but the service was super slow. We went in for Sunday breakfast, which They recently started. The waiter mentioned it's their 2nd Sunday brunch, and "thats why many of the items on the menu were not available." Well.. I was expecting them to be prepared to serve the menu if they just started it. To begin with, they forgot to hand out the menu, and we had to go and ask for it after waiting for 10mins. It wasn't busy at all.. there were 3 tables occupied which were already served. We ordered halwa puri, alo paratha, nihari, kulcha, mango, and salted lassi... paratha and halwa puri was given 1st.. then nihari after 15 minutes.. had to remind them for roti... and they forgot about lassi too, which we reminded them a couple of time also asked for water. 2 lassi were given to us after we were done eating, and 1 was given after we signed the bill along the water bottle where i asked for water from 2 different attendands. And yes, they charged $2 for a couple of spoon of yogurt as they don't serve anything with paratha.. Lahori Chana and nihari tasted good. Kulchy was fresh, too. We are regular at buying cheese kebab and naan from them as take out. it was our first time dining in, and honestly, I'm not happy with the service at all. As their food tastes good and being a loyal customer, I would suggest the management level up their service.
Went for the first time to try out their food. Although it was very busy on a saturday night, as expected, but we got a table in 20 min. As its so busy, its also loud. We ordered the chicken karahi 7/10 Beef bihari: 6/10( too much spice) Shirazi chicken xl kabab : 7.5/10 Nans: 8.5/10 Green chutney: 8/10 White chutney: 3/10 Overall the experience was good, as food came on time and service was pretty efficient.
I recently visited this restaurant and while I found the ambiance to be pleasant with good lighting and seating, the food was a bit of a letdown. The portion sizes were small compared to the price, and the Biryani we ordered was dry and lacking in flavor. Additionally, the Butter Chicken had too much tomato, which was disappointing. The service was also poor, with long wait times for everything including receiving the bill. We even had to ask for cups, soda, and water multiple times before receiving them. To make matters worse, the restaurant charges a 15% gratuity by default, which I found disappointing given the poor service we received. All in all, I would rate this restaurant 3 out of 5 stars. While the food was okay, there is certainly room for improvement in terms of portion sizes, taste, and service. I hope that the management takes this feedback as constructive criticism and makes the necessary improvements to better serve their customers in the future.
My husband and I cater food from her often as it is delicious and reasonably priced. however , the last 2 times we ordered pulao rice which full of raisins and veggies and very tasty but received only plain rice. because we live far away , we couldn’t do anything about the order but I am extremely disappointed. Not sure if I will go here again because we spent quite a bit and now it’s money lost but if we do return I will definitely double check my order.
Hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was disgusting — cold, bland, and clearly not fresh. Everything tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The service was unbelievably slow and careless; we waited forever just to get our order taken, and even longer for the food to show up. The staff acted like they couldn’t care less about the customers — no greeting, no follow-up, no apology for the ridiculous wait times. The place itself was dirty, unorganized, and gave off a bad vibe overall. Tables were sticky, the floor wasn’t clean, and the whole atmosphere just felt neglected. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone — not even as a last resort. Save your time and your money. I’ll never come back here again, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place completely.
I’m honestly very disappointed with this experience. Google Maps clearly states that this restaurant opens at 12:00 PM. We arrived at 12:20 PM, expecting them to be open and ready to serve. Instead, the person there told us, “You’re here early.” When we pointed out that their listed opening time is 12:00 PM, he responded that it takes them an hour to get the kitchen ready. That makes absolutely no sense. If your kitchen isn’t ready until 1:00 PM, then your opening time should be 1:00 PM — not 12:00 PM. When I calmly explained that they shouldn’t advertise 12:00 PM if they aren’t actually open and ready for customers, he simply laughed it off It’s frustrating to plan your time around a business’s listed hours only to be turned away ESPECIALLY since we drove 45 minutes go get there. Please update your hours to reflect when you’re actually prepared to serve customers.
Placed a pickup order and went in to get it. Place was in disarray and dirty due to remodeling. The cashier was on the phone, so respectfully I waited until he was fined. He continued on the phone for several minutes and never acknowledged me once. Walked away, came back without my food, then answered another call — still without saying a word to me. I had no idea if my order was ready or even started, so I left. Bad communication and zero customer service. Never even got a follow up.
Ordered the Chicken Biryani (Buy 1, Get 1 Free) via Uber Eats_rcvd spicy rice and 2pcs of chicken in the whole thing_waste of money for spicy rice, no real flavor, no life, nothing, rice pretending to be biryani_no substance or flavors as a biryani should be_don'twaste ur money/time becuz the food has no flavor/character/nothing special_better off ordering Chinese Food or Halal Munchies to actually a real meal for the price_disappointing since I see this place often off the Horace Harding_deserves LESS than ONE STAR!!!_(Not related to restaurant)-Uber driver just left my order in the hallway and ran_smh_whole experience a waste of money and time (order time 1hr)
The restaurant ambiance was modern, Instagram worthy. However, the food, as much as it looked nice and tasty, in reality, tasted cold. Ordered biryanni rice with tikka chicken, which was quite surprisingly very bland and cold. Shocking service. Additionally, tasted in sample all of the small round deserts and were very fried and simply not eatable, tasted horrific, honestly. Unable to give this restaurant another chance, when the food served was cold to the bone, basic hospitality missed; greater improvements needed for better cooking service.
