Owner and staff are excellent. They have a great alternative to some of the better Japanese restaurants in Costa Mesa/Tustin. I don't know that we have run into the same patrons twice yet, but the crowd here is always awesome and fun. We love it. When I want Honda Ya but do not want to drive, which is often, I head here.

I had a few things and they were all really good first of all the soup they serve when you order something from the menu is nice the 12 piece sashimi was amazing and the eel was even better now there red dragon rolls were also pretty good and font get me started on the scalops they where like butter and amazing and the staff were very nice id definitely come back here and i recommend it to anybody wanting some reasonably priced sushi.

Found this place near our hotel. It was phenomenal. We ordered over the phone and picked up the food. The sashimi was fresh and melted in your mouth. The bento boxes has tons of food- definitely more than 1 meal. The ramen and the avocado volcano were delicious. The staff was very careful with the packaging of the to go food to be sure everything arrived at the right temperature and wasn’t soggy. Highly recommend.

This place is a great sushi restaurant! My buddy and I have been here twice. Both times have been very consistent. Great service and the food is excellent! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes fresh, and finamimal sushi. The prices are decent too!

Not everyone in our family likes raw sushi so we're very happy that Ahi Ahi also serves ramen and udon. I really like the crunch salmon roll, crispy pork belly, and shrimp tempura. My girl likes her ramen. The waitress was very friendly, food came pretty fast, and everyone left with happy tummy, 🙂

This place always is a delight ! The flavors and freshness stands out, Don't be affraid to experiment. Their ramens are the best ,but the eel rolls are great too. My 11 year old son is picky but loves this place....A++

Literally amazing service. They kept checking up on us and making sure we were happy. They even packaged our leftovers for us. I love this restaurant and will come back. The food was so good too.

Great sushi bar! The special rolls were fantastic. Staff was prompt and friendly for an out-of-towner / non-regular, which isn't always the case in sushi bars. Would definitely come again!

We often go to Ahi Ahi at lunch, the service and food are always good. Poke bowls, Ramen, Edamame, Sushi are all good. Good hot tea and iced green tea. Seating can be limited and come early if you have a party larger than six.

This place is not only really tasty, but has fantastic and quick service, with great portions. The prices are really good too, I can’t think of anything bad to say about this spot.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years, and it never disappoints! The food is consistently excellent, and the service is always top-notch. They import their fish directly from Japan, and the menu has something for everyone—from classic rolls (cali rolls) for casual sushi eaters to premium options like uni for true connoisseurs. We dine here at least 4–5 times a month. I also run a business across the street, and we regularly order takeout for our team. The food travels well and still tastes great even after delivery.

Very good experience. Came here Friday night. Lee Mei was the one taking care of us. Wonderful lady. The vibe is great. It's not your typical tiny sushi spot with crammed tables and grumpy waiters. This sushi restaurant actually feels like a restaurant with caring staff and a nice clean dining area. Food is pricey, but the experience is totally worth it. We will be back here for sure.

I love Ahi Ahi Sushi Bar and Grill and think it’s the quintessential restaurant for excellent sushi in the heart of our community! I often dine here with friends and/or business associates for lunch as well as enjoy the sushi bar for a more intimate experience. Jay is a constant presence and he makes sure his customers are always very well taken care of with respect to ordering, selecting drinks (and topping them off!), and the Sushi Chefs are impeccable with their workspace, food and preparation as well as friendliness. Ahi Ahi is yet another gem nestled in the heart of Lake Forest/Foothill Ranch/Portola Hills and you will not be disappointed!

Party of 9 went for dinner on a Wednesday evening in May. We had reserved a table for 10 beforehand. The seating was very nice and quick. We were a bit confused how to order for the table so asked our server for help. He decided the dishes, their sequencing, and the quantity himself. We were all really happy with the food. We were all full. I especially enjoyed the gyoza, the halibut fin, and the salmon belly sushi. Hard to pick really, because everything was really good. We had a couple pitchers of beer for the table too. Total came to 62 per head, tips and taxes included, which I felt was very reasonable.

They are amazing! Food is amazing - tasty and fresh, service is amazing - everyone is quick and polite. Love the sushi bar with hot green tea, the kitchen is delicious too. Have yet to try their impressive selection of alcoholic beverages. They have happy hour Mon-Thur 5-7, after that time good luck finding a seat, it's so popular! Really one of the best sushi bars out there. The crowd is pleasant toom as some other reviewer has mentioned.

Went on a family vacation and wanted to try some sushi. Boy, this place was amazing, a hidden gem for sure!!!! My kids usually ate the California rolls in our hometown. We had about 4 rolls of fresh and tempura types, and my kids actually ate all of them!!! The kastu chicken was delicious. My favorite is definitely the pork belly!!! The waitresses were super sweet and gave my kids learning chopsticks. My son was practicing on everything. Really enjoyed our time. We will definitely come back next time we pass thur town!

Fish is fresh, delicious, and skillfully prepared by real sushi chefs. The seating is comfortable and the restaurant is very clean. Service is the best! The staff refills my water, soda, and removes empty plates without me having to ask. Best sushi in OC I believe this place deserves 5 stars!

Greeted pleasant ly at the door. Found a nice spot at the sushi bar. Services attentive . Chef friendly and focused on orders to go and us. Server kept my water full.. Each plate was a work of art and fresh. Beer and wine were top dollar& and great vintage. I Will return and refer friend's.

Hidden treasure! This is the freshest sushi I have ever had! The rolls are inventive and the service is friendly and helpful! I can’t believe I have never heard of this place. It is now our go to sushi restaurant.

3/5 (Saturday), that day is so cold due to the wind and close to the water. It was a perfect day to go have hot pot, but the wait is a little long since we have a party of 9. We are starving and can't wait, we left and went a few doors down and ended up here. We got seated right away. Overall, the food is good and fresh. The service is okay, we have to ask for refill tea a few times and they also forgot one of the orders. Place a small place and tables close to each other. Price is reasonable We ordered many dishes, but I did not try half of it and too hungry to take all the pictures of foods My favorite yellowtail collar shioyaki Baked salmon roll - its good I recommended for non raw eater Salmon belly sashimi Salmon Avocado Carpaccio - I like this a lot Sexy Salmon Roll (Salmon Sashimi on Spicy Tuna Roll, Pickle Wasabi, Red and Green Tobiko, Ponzu Sauce) - Pictures look good but I was not aware it has spicy tuna. I am not a fan of tuna or spicy tuna. Others like this roll. I will go back if I am close by.  I want to try Avocado Volcano (Baked crab & Scallop on 1/2 shell Avocado)

Nice restaurant overall! Party of two, on a Friday evening, around 6:30 pm. The restaurant was not too crowded, no waiting to be seated, and plenty of parking. Choice of table seating or bar seating. They also do take out. Our waitress, Viví was really cool. She was friendly, funny, kind, and helpful. Excellent recommendations. Good restaurant for a family, couples, or solo! Noise is average. Restaurant is clean, neat, and well organized! Worth checkout!

Good food. Enjoyed the Crunchy roll w sushi and a sife of Shrimp Tempura.

Great local sushi spot, the Baked Lobster roll is the best I've had anywhere! The place fills up quickly so don't hesitate. Get there early and enjoy!

I had beef ribs eye yakiudon which was pretty good. Portion was really big and they also cooked my steak medium rare which I asked for. Just wish they use a little less of oils to cook since it was a bit greasy. The atmosphere is perfect to have a casual conversation.

For the price, it was a great amount of food, there were tons of options, and there is a very friendly staff. It did take a while to get our food, but that might be due to our party size (7 people), and the meat, while well seasoned and flavorful, was a little dry (for both the beef and the pork).

Not a bad meal but there are better Japanese restaurants in the area. We had the combo meals and they seem reasonable value for the portion size you get. The tuna sashimi was tough and tasteless, other sashimi looked like it had a road accident. Service and friendliness of staff is good thought. We had a problem with one of our dishes and they dealt with it very professionally.

Recently came here for dine-in. Quality of service has diminished quite a bit. The prices have also went up and really not worth the quality if you’re looking for good or even mediocre sushi. Rolls have way too much rice and fish isn’t fresh. Wouldn’t recommend.

Sorry but the worst sushi I've eaten since I came to California. Almost everything wrong. Size, firmness, packaging, flavor. I never saw salmon and avocado sushi with cucumber !!! We realized that they were with many orders, but that is not an excuse for giving good service.

Their baked muscle are tiny...as far as the meat and they stack it with crab meat. Something seem fishy in my opinion..they should be inspected. Also fish quality is not good... specially considering the price. You would expect good quality fish. Never going there again.

The sushi is very good. The prices are good as well so as the service. What was not good is a sushi chef inappropriate behavior. He was asking me what parfume I’m wearing or what do I do he thought I was a model. All that right in front of my husband or when he went to the bathroom. Your chefs are an embarrassment. We not going to be back.

If you're a white person with mediocre taste in Japanese cuisine, this is the place for you. The sushi is not only made with poor craftsmanship, but with smallest morsels of fish I've ever seen. The non-sushi items were akin to buying a cheap microwave meal at the grocery store (the latter being arguably better).The menu is cluttered and features around 5 different types of sushi that they serve (most of which served with cucumber chunks instead of rice, disgusting). Customer service is severely lacking, as there are only two waiters running around trying to remember everyone's orders while leaving tables and seats tacky and sticky (again, disgusting). As if a restaurant could get any worse, Ahi Ahi also manages to steal your money by overcharging you for the miniscule serving sizes of their dishes. I recommend this place to people with no taste receptors or people who want to waste as much money as possible and still feel hungry.
