Love this restaurant Such a nice place Waiters are friendly and food is delicious I recommend this place My whole family comes here and we are not switching to another place
Had a birthday party here for 20 people—everything went smoothly! The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was warm with soft lighting and quiet background music, making it easy to talk and enjoy. It was a bit crowded, but that’s just a sign of how popular this place has become. Definitely a great experience overall!
Absolutely loved this place! The food was incredibly tasty – every dish was fresh.
Great food at a reasonable price family restaurant. Was my first time there last night. Since Nadezhda was one of the few kosher restaurants still open, and i was running late, i took a cab. When i arrived, the kitchen was already closed. Thankfully, I managed to speak with the owner who heard my story and spoke with the kitchen staff on my behalf. I ordered Uzbek bread with a side of hummus and the lamb soup, which was excellent. The food came quickly; was fresh, hot and very tasty and I left feeling very happy and satisfied before my 1-hour and 36-minute subway ride back to Boro Park. Very happy to have chosen to dine at Nadezhda and am looking forward to seeing my new friends there on my next visit to Forest Hills.
Russian restaurant in Forest Hills. They said it’s Russian but I think it’s more like Eastern European. It’s nice restaurant with plenty of space inside for just to hang out with friends and family or make any big pastries for any occasions. A lot of seating outside as well. Food and n general was good. Salad Nadegda was not to satisfying $11 for small plate of spinach some avocado cherry tomatoes that was not even cut and carrots just not what I expected I think just fresh salad would be better and cheaper. Lamb kebab I ordered with no bone but for some reason some of them still have some. Pelmeny meat didn’t taste fresh. And I don’t know why they charge me 15% service charge just for two people if that’s a tip per would tip much more but other wise what that charge for?
I’ve been driving past this restaurant forever, wondering if it was worth stopping. Today I finally decided to try it—bold of me, I know. Unfortunately, the chaos began at the door. When I walked in, a few employees approached me… and by “approached,” I mean drifted over like NPCs with low battery. And guess what? One of them was so rude it was almost impressive. I couldn’t hear him because the music was blasting like they were hosting a rave in the kitchen, and instead of, you know, speaking like a normal human, he hit me with a full “I DON’T HEAR YOU” attitude—like my mere existence offended him. The negative energy was strong. Honestly felt like the guy didn’t like my face, which is wild because I personally think your face is doing the best it can. Anyway, onto the food. I ordered two samsas. They looked promising, but apparently the oven took the day off. Cold. Disappointing. Betrayal in pastry form. Then came the Shashlik Saga. The lulya shashlik was surprisingly good—rare moment of hope. The beef shashlik, though, arrived still auditioning for the role of “Living Cow.” I asked for well-done, but I guess the cook misheard it as “serve me a biology lesson.” I sent it back, and they responded by torching it like it was evidence they needed to destroy. Third act: edible, but nothing exciting. The honum and manti were actually good—proof the kitchen can cook when the planets align. My server? Absolutely fantastic. The only person in the building who understood the assignment. Super friendly, super attentive, the kind of guy who deserves better than the chaos swirling around him. Some of the other staff, though? Acting like being polite to new customers might shorten their lifespan. Regulars got smiles; I got “Why are you here?” energy. And then we arrive at the grand finale: the bill. A beautiful, majestic $211. For that money, I could’ve been at Fogo de Chão having endless meat carved at my table by guys who actually smile at you. Instead, I paid premium prices for a shashlik mood swing. They also include the tip automatically—but of course, no one bothered to mention it. So I tipped again. I don’t mind, because my server earned every cent, but a simple “Hey, tip’s already included” would save newcomers from financially sponsoring the restaurant’s emotional support fund. Food: 2 stars Server: 5 stars (give him a raise) Experience: Priced like fine dining, executed like a sitcom Will I come back? Absolutely not. Will I order again? Will I order again? No, my friend, that chapter of my life is closed. I ate the burned meat purely out of self-preservation, because the energy coming from the kitchen had strong “I will beat the living daylight out of you if you send this back again” vibes. I wasn’t dining—I was surviving. Every bite felt like a scene from an action movie where the hero eats charcoal to avoid angering the villain. By the time I finished, I wasn’t thinking about dessert—I was thinking about escape routes. I left that place like I was fleeing the country, not a restaurant.
terrible service! I saw for myself that you have to wait for your order for 1 hour, the waiters can't give you a clear answer when your order will be ready, in the end our order was given to other customers, and you have to wait again. I was there for the first and last time!
JUST TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! 1. We waited 40 minutes for soup 2. Mexican waiters bring you dishes without gloves and touch all the cutlery with dirty hands 3. There is no order in customer service, the last ones to arrive get their order first. 4. The guys themselves set a 15% and it is not the customer who decides
Ordered Lyulya Kebab via UberEats. Lyulya is red. It’s totally raw inside. It’s not safe to consume like this food. Called to explain the girl on the phone started arguing with me that it can’t be raw. Told her I can send a picture she said no it’s ok just go ahead and order something else and we will give lyulya for credit. Speechless…
Service is the worst I have ever experienced. Waiter was rude and yelled at my wife that outside is the only table available and then snapping in her face. Who cares how good the food is if you are going to be treated like a dog.
Came to have lunch, forgot to look Jewish or Uzbek, sat for 5 min wasn’t even busy no one took the order they just looked like I’m Spanish very racist place. Happened on 6/26/25 at 3:50 Came back again on July 1st after reading your response to give you guys another chance and once again you guys failed terribly, the only person that came by is a Hispanic waiter to move the plates and try’s multiple times to get me the waiter and again nothing happened for 5 minutes so once again I just left. You might have good food but you need better management
No kosher certification! The owner did show me her order receipt from the kosher supplier (Glat Boys). However no mashgiach at the spot. %15 was added to the final Bill for service and then we were still asked to leave a tip on top of that. The food was ok. Nothing special but not bad. Most of the servers and employees don't speak English.
This is the worst Central Asian restaurant ever I have experienced. We ordered Ukrainian Borsh, they brought something looks like only Ingredients were cut and put boiled water on top. I doesn’t taste like a Borsh or soup at all. Also, I ordered Shish kebab and lamb kebab which made me wait for exact 1 hour. Both of those kebabs were not cooked well at all, blood kept coming while I was eating. Even, so hard to chew. Shish kebab was so bad, tasted like old and spoiled meat. Just a waste of money and time. Work on how to earn money fairly! I don’t recommend
