Opinions de Cowboy Chicken Forney
Cowboy Chicken is def a bit on the pricy side, but thinking back on the dozens of times I've dined here over the past 10+ years, I have never had a bad meal! Where to start?.. The chicken. It is absolutely top notch. There are very few places that serve this level of quality chicken. Any main dish you order will be fantastic. But if I were to recommend one, it would be the enchiladas. That amazing chicken mixed with their homemade tomatillo sauce is out of this world! The sides are all incredible too. Taters, mac n cheese, cucumber salad (if it's not on the menu, ask anyway. They will let you order it). Grab a dessert if you can't decide on your 2nd side. The cobbler is to die for!
The food is always fresh the staff is always nice and friendly especially Kristian I look for her smile and welcoming spirit everytime I visit. I will always come here for good fresh rotisserie chicken love the okra and the cookies are to die for!!!!! The chicken buffalo salad is sooo good!! Highly recommended
Food was so good that I had to stop what I was doing and take a picture before I ate all my food. I ordered through Uber Eats as a delivery and got the quarter breast chicken with green beans and black beans. Got a side of their rolls also got the lemon pepper buffalo chicken bites that my kid liked with fries and lastly got the veggie option that came with three sides, sweet potato, black beans and green beans. And oh wait I can't forget about my house salad that I got which was also really good. Thanks.
I got the family meal deal and the food was really good. The amount of food you get with the deal is worth the price. Also includes a dessert, peach cobbler or banana pudding. The chicken was good and out of the sides the beans were my favorite. The beans had more flavor than I expected and I am definitely getting them next time! Great dinner idea. They also have a drive-thru!!
I’ve been here several times and the food is always good. Depending on who you get behind the counter they may help you OR you may feel like you’re just a bump in the road. So close to being a wonderful option for all of the fast food chains nearby
Let’s start with the Ranchero beans, they were just beans. Anybody can throw a little jalapeño flavor in something, but there wasn’t anything exciting about them. Nothing bad, just… beans. Now, the Cowboy coleslaw was interesting. I actually liked it different, tangy, and fresh. It had a little crunch to it, maybe from broccoli or just larger pieces of cabbage. Either way, it stood out. The chicken was good. Juicy, nicely flavored, but not hot. Maybe that’s on me for having it delivered. I’m from Louisiana, and we say, “If you’re not sneezing, you ain’t seasoning.” So I like a little more kick. Still, it was solid. I’ll definitely go back next time, I want to sit down and get that fresh-off-the-fire experience. Overall, Cowboy Chicken in Forney gets a thumbs-up from me not perfect, but worth another visit.
“It breaks my heart to post this because I really do love Cowboy Chicken—I eat at the Murphy location at least twice a month (and the guys at Christian Brothers do too!). My wife and I recently stopped in at the Forney store for lunch. The food was good as always, but the dining area wasn’t clean. We had to wipe down our own table, boxes were stacked in the dining area, and the floor was covered with food. I know the restaurant business isn’t easy, which made it tough to leave 4 stars instead of 5. Hoping this was just an off day, because I really enjoy Cowboy Chicken and want to keep coming back.”
I used to look forward to the roll, but not this time. It was stale and burnt on top (probably from trying to reheat). And it's not the first time I've gotten a stale roll from the drive thru. Stop doing this please! If that's all you have to give the customer, just leave it out. The rest of the food was good though.
Had a late lunch (2:45) on a Sunday. Associate working the counter was effective, efficient and helpful. $30 for a brisket mac n cheese bowl and a brisket sandwich w/side salad and a large tea. The portions looked surprisingly small as detailed. I could not say there was even an ice cream scoop of brisket on my mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was well prepared, tasty, a good portion and even had a cheese pull. However, the dollop of brisket was disappointing. What brisket there was tasted good. My friend's sandwich was shockingly small. Think of a Buc-Ees brisket sandwich and then think of a regular Mcd's hamburger. The sandwich itself was about the size of a McD's hambuger. However, there was at least 2x more meat in the sandwich than there was on my mac and cheese. For $13.50, the sandwich looked really small. But again, the brisket itself was tasty. For $30 would I do it again? Probably not. Would I go to Cowboy Chicken again and try something else? Yes.
The food here is so tasty that it should take minimal effort to prepare the various meals and serve it to customers. What I mean is that this place is TOO delicious to encounter issues so severe that it would keep me away. NOPE, not to mention the price. But that’s beside the point because I’m going to pay it. The food is FIRE. Tonight however there were a few concerning aspects of this meal…1. The tortilla wasn’t fully cooked, it was tough as leather. 2. The chicken bbq sandwich was missing ALL the toppings, we asked for no onion, not “no cheese, no pickles, no onion” 3. The hard bits of dry rice are taxing on the teeth. Honestly felt like I chipped a molar…also, hate to be that guy but there were food prints all over everything. I was sad because again, THE FLAVORS are incredible, the execution tonight was not there. I hope this is an isolated incident and next time things are better. We spent $48 on 2 meals and 2 banana puddings. The banana pudding is the best on this side of the galaxy.
I just can’t take it anymore and the only reason I continue to come is because me baby loves their ranch and chicken and and AJ is the best manger ever!! But this girl just continues to cough and sneeze In her hands and handle all of the customers orders and that s just gross me out.. I hate to walk in and even see her there I said something to her before and she got a serious attitude and I didn’t care. Please stop spreading those germs stay at home if you’re sick!!!! If this continues I won’t come back cause my baby eats here 5 times out of the week and you won’t have her sick……
I had the brisket mac bowl. The Mac was fine, but the brisket was in big chunks and was tough. It was my first time having it, so I don't know if it was to be chunky or not. I think if they make the bowl with pulled brisket it would be much better. It wasn't very smokey tasting. I may give it another go, but at a different location.
Cowboy chicken has always been one of my favorites. The location in Forney could be better, staff was talking and playing behind the counter. Environment feels like a high school cafeteria.
We arrived at 8:00 PM, a full hour before closing (9:00 PM), and from the moment we walked in, it was clear the staff was visibly upset to see customers. Even the kitchen employee behind the register seemed annoyed that we were there. We placed our order, and the food came out extremely fast — which quickly made sense once we tasted it. Everything was cold, poorly prepared, and absolutely terrible. It was honestly inedible. I have never received food like this from the Irving location before, and this experience was shockingly bad in comparison. The women in pthe front seemed more focused on cleaning up and rushing people out of the restaurant than providing any level of service. The entire atmosphere felt unwelcoming and uncomfortable. Terrible food and an even worse experience. Very disappointing.
Today is my birthday, I decided to swing by an old favorite just because I havent had this is soooo long. I am BEYOND DISAPPOINTED!! I cannot believe is spent $41 on burnt, hard, mini drumsticks that are smaller than my toddlers hand. These pictures dont do justice there was no meat because its all burnt and stuck to the skin and its touch as jerky!! I literally paid $41 for twice baked mashed potatoes amd sweet potatoes!!!
I had to come into Cowboy Chicken in order to pick up an Ubereats order. I spoke to one employee at the front, while other employees were present. I proceeded to have to wait 30 minutes, while consistently making eye contact, and while consistently checking in with very rude employees; when they still could not provide the food needed, I had to cancel my order and therefore lose money I would’ve gotten. The employees that watched me stand and wait for an order for 30 minutes also watched me walk out without saying a word. This was the most atrocious customer service I’ve ever come across- I pride myself on being incredibly patient, and I was extremely unhappy with the service I received at this particular location. I was ultimately burdened financially due to your incompetence.
I spent 15$ on enchiladas that were ice cold and the two sides were too, and they close at 9 so I can’t take it back. I didn’t get a receipt but i want a refund because I had to throw it away because it doesn’t taste or look like enchiladas
I really hate writing bad reviews and usually avoid it unless something truly bothers me, but my experience at Cowboy Chicken was disappointing. I paid about $20 and waited around 10 minutes, but the service felt snippy and rude from the start. I ordered the half chicken meal with Mexican corn, ranchero beans, mac and cheese, and bread. The chicken was extremely salty and dry, the Mexican corn tasted like cigarette smoke, the beans had almost no flavor, and the bread was stale and crusty. The only good things were the mac and cheese and the Sprite. Overall, it felt like a waste of money, and I honestly wish I could get a refund. This was my first visit, and I definitely won’t be coming back.
This is one of my favorite places to eat, with the EXCEPTION of the FORNEY location. I went back more than once because there aren’t many places I like to eat out so I kept them giving chances. This has got to be the worst location in the chain. Wilted salad, COLD FOOD, terrible customer service, stale rolls, COLD FOOD, no plasticware at the drive through, nasty floors. These are all occurrences I have experienced more than 3 TIMES! I will NEVER go back there
We arrived at 10:55am waited in drive through until open. Received our food 5 min later after ordering. The young lady at the drive thru was very polite and friendly. The hot wing chicken that was served to us was old and cooked the day before you can definitely tell because it was hard and dried out. We didn’t notice until we got home. I spent too much money for this go at your own risk but I will never go again.
This is why I don't do take out as much I used to. I ordered family meal for 6. All the food were cold and hard like it's been sitting there for 10+ hours.....two of the side were not filled. 80% of the pinto beans were juice......this is second time happened to me at this same location......I won't go back there again....
The manager named 'D'(heard his name from another worker) was extremely rude and unprofessional. From the get go, you could tell that he would rather be anywhere else but at his job. If that wasn't enough, he spent the entire time rushing me, rolling his eyes, and mumbling under his breath. When I got my food, he basically shoved it towards me, and gave me no time to move before talking to the next person. It was an overall awful experience, and I don't think I will ever come back.
Let me start off by saying, this use to my favorite spot to go to for food in Forney. I been going here for around 7 years and it might be close to 9. Over the years the quality has significantly decreased. Keep in mine, me and my family would order her once a week. A couple of weeks ago we received chicken that was still bleeding. We been receiving salad that was bad for a while now that we overlooked. We received a salad that was for a family of four but looked like a kids meal salad(it wasn’t brown, I must admit). I will not be going back to this restaurant moving forward. Paying $40 plus for a subpar meal is ridiculous. (Side note my child is upset they don’t have any chips or salsa).
1st we went through the drive-through ordered our food justtified out the restaurant had absolutely 0 cups so there was no way possible you could have a refreshing beverage with your meal at all and they were doing nothing to fix the problem. Once we got to the window we were told the incorrect price. But was corrected. The food was sooooooo dry we had to go to another restaurant to get drinks in order to Survive the meal. I ordered the chicken wings lemon pepper chicken wings which I thought would be small drummets which were large drummet and they were so dry I thought dust would come from my mouth when I was chewing I would not recommend this restaurant restaurant steer clear unless you have a death wish
