Blue Moon Fish Company in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is a fantastic Sunday brunch spot if you want a great view and a meal that feels like an occasion. The ambiance is relaxed but upscale, and the intracoastal backdrop with boats and yachts rolling by is hard to beat. It is not cheap, but the food more than holds up, with an impressive spread of shellfish and breakfast favorites plus a carving station with prime rib, brisket, and ham, and a baked salmon that disappeared fast. The French toast was the runaway favorite at our table, and the smaller bites were all solid, especially the crab cakes, the chocolate chip pancake, and the Korean BBQ spare ribs, plus some really tasty lamb chops. The oysters were some of the best I’ve had anywhere from Florida up through Maine, and there was so much variety, sushi, charcuterie, soups, and more, that you almost have to pace yourself. Save room for dessert because it’s just as strong as the rest, the key lime pie and carrot cake were excellent, and the bread pudding was completely out of this world. Add in plenty of mimosas and Bloody Marys and it ended up feeling totally worth it, we’re already planning to come back for Mother’s Day.

Absolutely Worth Every Bite. From the briny perfection of Pirates Creek West Coast oysters to the Blue Crab & Corn and beautifully roasted grouper, every dish was flavorful and expertly prepared. The Swordfish Paillard was a standout, and the service was polished and attentive without feeling forced. Dessert sealed the deal..don’t miss the cheesecake or the key lime pie. A sharp, memorable dining experience from start to finish.

The perfect water views and the food was amazing as well. I couldn’t get enough of the fresh bread with garlic. The polenta was my favorite with fish. Yummy yummy

Webb was FANTASIC! Great recommendations, service was impeccable. Lovely water view. The food was amazing and the pumpkin espresso martinis did not disappoint. Portions were more then I expected. I had the Salmon and it was cooked medium which was perfect!!

best restaurant i have been to in a while !! … came monday night for my birthday .. we sat at the bar untill the dinning area opened for dinner the bartender was absolutely a doll…. the bread was good and the calamari was amazing!!! best calamari hands down!!!!…. the entrees are delicious!! the dessert topped it all... our server was ralph he was amazing he was very professional polite great personality really friendly man we even talked about our lovely dogs at home.. had great experience it’s hard to find good restaurants now …i’ll be back soon :)

Celebrated my wife's birthday there this past Sunday and it was absolutely amazing, the place it self was lively the ambiance was top notch, the service was 11 out of 10 our servers were completely awesome in everyway allowed us to relax and enjoy the moment no rushing or forcing courses out, they were knowledgeable about all the food and oysters and they completely added positive marks to the overall score and as for the food it was delicious we started with a tasting of all four oysters 2 from the east coast 2 from the west all but one were shucked perfect (I got the one with a big shell peice luckily not her) then we went on to the squid prepared in a southwestern style on toastones on a mole sauce with the squid being so tender and delicious apps 10 out of 10...as for the main we did the florida lobster tail special 10 out of 10 and the sea bass 11 out of 10 both course were accompanied with tasty sides but they did not need them bc the main were good enough alone I would of spent 60 dollars just for the sea bass alone on a plate...then for her birthday we did a amaretto cake that was mind blowing and the bread pudding with banana ice cream that could get me back there just to stop in for desert...all in all the price was completely justified bc the night was perfect the setting was perfect the service was perfect and the food was perfect even with that horrible shell the seabass earned a extra point to make up for having to take a point away for leaving a shucked shell that was that bad.. we will be back again and again!!

The atmosphere was very nice to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Joseph S. (Dining Table-401) our server was very nice, friendly, respectful and professional. I’ll be dining again due to the great food and staff!!

If you like top notch quality, delicious food in an elegant, spacious atmosphere then this is the place for you! We went for a late lunch (2:30). Their lunch main menu is varied but we opted for the Lunch Price Fix Menu (starter, entree, dessert) at $35.00 each. Each portion was generous and absolutely delicious! We both had the Tempura Rock Shrimp for starters, which was light (NOT greasy tasting), flavorful with the shredded multi colored cabbage and dipping sauce (we had on the side rather than tossed together). For entrees, the Crispy Skin Butterflied Rainbow Trout was great! However, I did not eat the skin! I peeled it away to eat the perfectly cooked delicious, flakey fish! The Chicken Milanese was excellent as well! The accompanying sides with both entrees paired perfectly and created a flavor dance with your taste buds!!! The desserts of Chocolate Pearl Brownie and Crème Brûlée were exceptionally heavenly and perfect finish to a perfect lunch!!! Much kudos to the wait staff for their attentiveness and to the chef(s) for their wonderful creations! Even though it was a stormy day on our visit, the Blue Moon Fish Co. is our new favorite restaurant and will be going back again for another tasteful adventure!

Food was amazing waiter was fabulous. Every entree was cooked to perfection. We sat by the water under the full moon great atmosphere. The only negative I had after a 250$ check is to find the next day someone at the restaurant ran my car again and again for another 250 2xs. Food was great so maybe next time ill pay cash

So I want to give a big shout out to Pedro, who works there. He was so accommodating, and hard working, so respectful and a great conversationalist. Jason was our server and again just all around great service. An absolute gem those two, and proper etiquettes surrounding placement and table setting. Food was amazing and well presented. Ribeye was to die for and worth every cent.

Great seafood restaurant with a view. The food was served fresh with a wonderful presentation. The seafood gumbo was authentic. Our waiter, James, was attentive and professional. We recommend a table outside to enjoy the boats go by. We loved everything about with our experience at Blue Moon Fish Company and recommend it for all.

We enjoyed a great happy hour and dinner served by Raymond! If you are looking for ambiance and taste, look no further! Pictured below is the gumbo, lobster bisque, salmon, lobster special and Linguine with seafood. All very perfectly prepared and delicious! The chocolate molten cake for dessert didn't stand a chance against the three of us. 2nd time celebrating my dad's birthday, and if we are fortunate enough, next year we will return for a third. Great Job!!

This place was great..not cheap. 80 bucks a person..but the service and food presentations were absolutely great.the view right on the water made it even better. Always like valet parking as well...well done!!!!

This is THE place to go to for some yummy seafood, drinks and desert. I have a special spot for grits and these had to of been one of the best servings I've had to date. Our server was chill and attentive, we enjoyed ourselves very much and appreciate the inside accommodations cause I ain't good in the heat. Great place to visit or enjoy on the regular.

We arrived a little early and were sat right away. Joe was our server ands were we lucky. He made the experience very special. The waters and drinks were always topped off, plates were cleared immediately as we were there to celebrate Mother’s Day with an unbelievable brunch.

Sergio took care of us and it was the best! The food was absolutely delicious. The drinks were amazing as well. I had the blue crab grouper and wow I was impressed. I definitely recommend coming here because you won’t be disappointed.

The food, drinks and appetizers all top notch. My only complaint it how hard the crust on the bread at the table was, I think I cracked a tooth lol. That aside service was awesome, hat tip to Sergio our waiter. You can tell the people that work here love their job. That's a good sign ;)

Damn. What a delicious lunch spot. We've been to the area a few times but never really gave BMFC a chance. That all changed this past February. Our waitress was so cute and attentive. We watched her graceful deal with a Karen hell-bent on ruining her day and still manage to attend to each time unaffected. The food was delicious! I've never really been a Reuben fan, but their seafood Reuben was amazing, which was recommended to us by the waitress. She was right. It was a delight. The fish tacos were great too, but the drinks is where it's at. Ask for then your way and they won't bat an eye. We wanted "super spicy" margaritas and they delivered. Check out their specials. They seemed really reasonable even though we decided not to enjoy them. Pst. If you're here around 4. Stay for happy hour!

Just wow!! We had the most amazing time for brunch! We came for our anniversary and we were completely impressed with the view and the quality of food and wonderful service we received. Our server Domenic was exceptional! He did not miss a beat. Our glasses were never empty and our table was always immaculate. The small plates were delicious and all the stations were absolutely scrumptious. This is your sign to visit!

Our favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. It's delicious and has a great atmosphere. Add to that the sun, the canal with yachts, professional service and daily promotions and discounts. It's a great place for a romantic date! I recommend it with confidence.

Amazing dinner experience...birthday dinner consisting of a calamari appetizer, grouper with asparagus & dragonberry mojito while on the patio overlooking the adjoining marina...definitely recommend and will return!

Great atmosphere inside and out. We sat on the covered A/C w/fans patio and large windows to view passing boats, ships, and the drawbridge. The food is high quality and taste and very friendly attentive service.

Came here for brunch. Had a reservation and was seated right away. The food was good, the service was amazing. Staff very actively would bring out wet towels and bowls and refill drinks proactively. Would definitely come back again!

We really enjoyed our most recent visit in July of 2025. The fish was fresh and we were able to get a virgin mojito, which was excellent. We were seated outside and the view was good.

If you’re looking for the perfect way to spend your Sunday, this all-you-can-eat brunch is it! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and full of good vibes. The food selection was incredible — everything from made-to-order omelets and crispy bacon to fresh seafood, pastries, and a dessert table that looked straight out of a magazine. The staff was friendly and attentive, keeping our drinks topped off and making sure we had everything we needed. Every dish tasted fresh and flavorful — you can tell they really put care into what they serve. Between the great food, bottomless mimosas, and patio scenery this brunch turned an ordinary Sunday into something special. We will definitely be coming back — 10/10 recommend! I've been to this place for Lunch, Diner, and their Brunch special, over the course of years and never had a problem. The food is so good and the atmosphere is great, doesn't get better than waterfront dinning. What I really want to recognize them for is their exceptional service. I feel like service or the hospitality business in general has declined so much everywhere, but this place maintained their standards. From the valet to the waiters everyone is so friendly, professional, and just have a happy energy to them. We were last here on Valentine's Day, it was very busy, and yet no one dropped the ball on service. The food is a little on the pricier side but it is fresh tasty food.

I have been here before for special occasions. Went this past Sunday for February birthdays. As always service was excellent. Our server was Ray. He was excellent, very friendly and attentive to all of our needs. I also must compliment the entire staff working there and the young greeters when you first walk in. Food was very good as always. You always need to make reservations as we do or you might have a very long wait time. A plus to this restaurant is sitting outdoors by the water on a nice day seeing all the boats and yachts motoring by. A shout out to the young greeter who had a great personality who resembled Will Smith’s son!

Wonderful first visit to Blue Moon Fisk Co! Parking by valet ($7) but there is some street parking available. Seated immediately on the beautiful patio (easily enclosed and heated if necessary). Service was amazing. Great Smokey Old Fashioned. Rock Shrimp tempura was delicious. Grouper and the Caribbean lobster with crab dishes were delicious. By the server’s suggestion we got a delicious Icky Sticky dessert which was great but consider the off-menu chocolate soufflé, which looked delicious. Highly recommend!

Incredible views, consistent service, delicious menu. This is a tried and true gem of a spot, great for special occasion dinners and classy lunches. Made famous for the grouper dish and service that never disappoints, we’ve come here for over a decade. I love a menu that you can close your eyes, point, and never be disappointed. Cheers!

Back at Blue Moon Fish, Lauderdale by the Sea. This time I tasted the Maine Lobster Chitarra, a half Maine lobster with squid ink pasta and calamari. It was excellent. This is the reason why I keep coming back to this place so often. This time, Big Jim was our waiter. Very efficient and friendly. A great place to have nice bay front dinner ! Book your table.

We visited Blue Moon Fish for brunch to celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday. I’ll start by saying this is definitely not a place I would normally splurge on, so $273 for brunch for two people was pretty shocking to me. That said, the overall experience was nice. The atmosphere was pleasant and the waitstaff was attentive and professional throughout the meal. As for the food, it was good, but for the price point I honestly expected better quality. The prime rib was very fatty, and even the staff member carving it seemed to struggle to find a solid piece worth cutting. The salmon was decent, the mashed potatoes were delicious, and the sushi was good. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, but given the cost, it didn’t quite live up to the expectations that come with such a high price tag

Had very high expectations for brunch unfortunately my experience was less than satisfactory.I made a reservation online and also called to verify speaking with the manager I specifically asked for an indoor table which clearly is on a reservation but we were seated outside at almost the end of the dock where there was a yacht docked there so there was no view. Not sure why my inside request was not honored. The reason for the inside request was because of seafood and flies which happened. The service was really poor. When I asked for melted butter for my crab legs I was told it's on the buffet. Although the waiter brought it to me he acted like he was doing me a favor. Dirty plates remained on table and the food quality was just not there for me. The crab legs were small and the meat stuck inside the shell which made them very difficult to eat. When it was time for coffee the server was nowhere to be found I went to speak with the manager and his response was that the server may have gone out to his car... seriously? That's not acceptable...not sure why the manager acted like it was no big deal. My party waited almost 15-20 minutes before we saw the server again and when I asked for coffee it was another 10 minutes before we received it... it was very embarrassing for me as it was my suggestion to go there for brunch. At the current price point I think I expected more from this well-known acclaimed restaurant. On a positive note the desserts were wonderful. Hopefully it was just an off day but not sure if I would return.

I don’t usually write negative reviews because I figure places can have a bad day. Blue Moon has been a restaurant of choice for us when friends and family visit. We have always been happy with the food the and service. But dinner last night has left me questioning this opinion. It started with the host stand we walked in. Two young girls were at the stand. They asked if we had reservations I said yes and gave my name. I literally stood there. They said nothing else. Then after a few minutes I said are we all set and finally they addressed us and said it will be 10-15 minutes. Horrible first impression. We then made our way to the bar. The bar had two seats, we decided to have dinner there. We sat at the bar at 8. While we were in the middle of our salads. They began to break down the bar and bring out cleaning supplies and restocking. I was shocked that it wasn’t even 9. It was disgusting to have bottles pulled out in front of us and cleaning supplies sprayed around us. It was an awful experience. We felt rushed and as if we were in their way. Either restaurants aren’t doing proper training on etiquette, or people just don’t care. Not sure if I’ll consider this a nicer restaurant to go to.l in the future.

Philip was an exceptional server—attentive, professional, and made the experience very pleasant. I have been going to Blue Moon for over 10 years and have always ordered the Grouper Dinner, which has consistently been excellent. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was disappointing. The grouper was very overcooked—hard and rubbery—and did not taste fresh at all. It almost seemed as though it had been prepared well in advance and frozen. This was surprising and not up to the standard I’ve come to expect over the years. Additionally, I was disappointed to learn that there is a 2.5% credit card fee. For a restaurant that has been in business for many years, this was unexpected. If you plan to dine there, you may want to bring cash to avoid the additional charge.
