COURTYARD CAFE Dom Caruso has partnered with an old neighborhood favorite that I thought was gone for good: Courtyard Cafe. I have been here for three meals in their first week and I am so happy. The food seems to be even better than it did at the original location. The portions are large, everything was cooked perfectly, which was a particularly impressive feat considering that they have just opened. I understand that the original chef is involved with the reopening, and I see many familiar faces in the wait staff. It has been great to see Aaron again, as well as Todd and all of the others. Welcome back to a neighborhood favorite!

We had a 60th birthday party for 11 people. Cheryl and Will did a fabulous job as our servers. The food came out perfectly. They know how to handle a small to a large party. Bon appétit !

Not sure why anyone would give a bad review but my dad and I have been there about 6 times and everything was awesome! Food, service, price. We love the Doms Big Pizza. Best pizza ever! Shout out to Dave and AJ.

What a night! All started with a smiling “WELCOME!” At the door. Front end redone looks so nice. Can still see the kitchen, just not in your face. Looks great. Dom right up front! Taking the delicious hot (soon to be garlic) rolls out of the oven, THEN Sheryl!! She has been with this location for 25 years! I always said she’d be there long after the owner left, and she’s been through 3 others! Same regulars nodding as they were seated. New full liquor license and ‘party room’ can be reserved. Lovely art on the walls which they switch out every month or so with local artists work. I knew I’d love the food, which is different from the prior Bona recipes, as I frequented Dom’s old place. I loved the food! . Started with Calamari which was a lightly dredged and fried mix of whole/tenacle rings with marinara. Delicious. It was upstaged by the bruchetta!! So special and different fresh tomatoes and red onion and shaved freshly Parmesan. And the glaze was amazing. The Shrimp Scampi has a hint of pepper flake so be warned of a little kick (can request no pepper) the sauce was a bit creamy and I loved it!! Remember to ASK about your favorite foods as the servers are more than willing to explain your choices, as Doms recipes differ a bit. Delicious but if you want the white bean pasta fagioli you’re in for a surprise. In its own it was delish beef broth and kidney beans but not what I was anticipating. It was QUICKLY remedied with a perfectly fresh Caesar salad with fresh shaved parm and crunchy homemade croutons. No Italian meal with friends is complete without dessert! The cannolis were crunchy and yummy!! This is a great new place on the drive in Wilton Manors. Welcome to Dominic!!

Haven't been since they moved from their other location so we decided to try dinner. It did not disappoint. The service was great and the staff was on point. The nachos and cheese quesadillas are great. The dinner entries are limited but they are known more for their breakfast and brunch. The chicken parmesan and the baked haddock were delicious. We even had the chocolate cake for dessert.

Absolutely phenomenal! Dom Caruso’s Cucina is a true hidden gem in Wilton Manors. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the mouthwatering aroma of authentic Italian cuisine. Every dish feels homemade with love—rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and perfect portions. The pasta is cooked to perfection, the sauces are deeply flavorful, and don’t even get me started on the desserts—absolutely divine! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. You can tell Dom puts his heart into every plate and every guest experience. This place is a must-visit for anyone in Fort Lauderdale looking for a top-notch Italian meal. Can’t wait to come back!

So happy to find Dom Caruso’s on The Drive! We’ve loved them since their Dixie Hwy days — they even catered our wedding. Best pizza anywhere, amazing lobster ravioli, and a warm, family feel every time. Great daily Happy Hour and BOGO entrées on Tuesdays. A Wilton Manors gem!

This local Italian gem nails the cozy, laid-back vibe. The LGBT-friendly staff makes you feel like family, and the food delivers consistent, NYC-level flavors — perfectly cooked pasta, rich sauces, and spot-on martinis. If you’re after a fast-paced scene, look elsewhere — this is a relaxed spot where great food and genuine hospitality shine. Lets keep getting more restaurants on the drive that don’t suck!

Hands down, the nicest staff at any restaurant I've ever been to! They were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout my visit. The lasagna and garlic knots were absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The ranch dressing was fantastic—definitely a must-try! And to top it all off, the cheesecake was perfect; creamy and rich with just the right amount of sweetness. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes when visiting Florida❤️ Georgina Bruce

I first had the privilege to have tasted Doms Cuccina culinary magic a few weeks ago by chance as we had a lunch meeting and the person who catered for us is known for her good taste. I met Dom and you could tell he cared about his product. I have to tell you, I was not disappointed, in fact, very impressed. So tonight I went to the Cuccina to experience the cuisine along with my wife,Mary. The restaurant is very nice, I love the art all around, the staff is amazing,AJ, our waiter was awesome. The food ..amazing! Just as good as the catered event. Meatballs melt in your mouth, flavorful, along with the sauce. My wife had linguine and carbonara sauce, again, out of the ball park!

Dom Caruso Cucina is an absolute gem for authentic Italian food. Their pasta is rich and flavorful, the pizza is perfectly crispy with fresh toppings, and the sandwiches are packed with flavor. On top of that, the service is outstanding, with attentive waiters, and their catering is just as impressive—highly recommend!

My family and I have been going to Caruso’s for years and was so happy to find out their new location is in Wilton Manors. They have amazing Italian food and their bread/pizza dough is the best I’ve had. The owners, manager, and staff are top notch and make you feel at home. The portions are great and everything is fresh.

So happy to see Dominic back doing what he's meant to do and is so passionate about. After a couple years hiatus, he has set himself up in a wonderful location on Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors. The place looks great. He's upped his game with his menu and the food was delicious. His staff is wonderful. Looks like the locals are taking notice. The place was full. I predict great success at this location. It's definitely worth making a visit. You'll definitely be coming back. Buena Fortuna, Dom!

I am an Asian customer coming here for the second time, everything is perfect, my friend really likes Italian cuisine, he has searched for many restaurants but is not really satisfied. But with DOM CRUSO after two experiences, the food taste is great, really has many typical flavors of Italy. We had a chat with DOMINIC, an experienced chef, he is very passionate about bringing Italian cuisine to everyone. I will definitely come back next time.

I am so happy to be writing this review for a few reasons.. It was my first time back to Courtyard Cafe since they closed from their previous location and I was a frequent customer and I never had a bad experience through the years. Aaron was always an exceptional server and I missed his presence when they closed. I was so disappointed when the closing happened and I am aware the rents have gone up so ridiculously on the Drive in Wilton Manors, it’s a sin in my eyes to be charging such high prices‼️🥺 Anyhow I went to the newest location on the Drive with a friend and to our surprise Aaron was there again as the server and our food was amazing just like before‼️ It doesn’t matter what you order it’s always delicious as it’s from the same menu as before and I’ve tried everything‼️👍🏼🥘🥗🍔 Special shout out to the chef and owner Manny for his personal touch on what comes out of the kitchen with his cooking talents and pleasant personality.. just like Aaron‼️ Go check out this gem in Wilton Manors for some delicious foods and nice atmosphere as well‼️👍🏼😉

Hands down one of the best pizza spots I’ve been to. From the first bite, you can tell everything is made with care. The crust is perfect, the sauce is flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and generous. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and makes you feel like family. If you’re looking for pizza that actually hits the spot, this is the place. I’ll definitely be back again and again!

This was my first time for breakfast here. Joyce was so friendly and attentive! I used to love going to Rosie's for breakfast on Sundays and now I will watch Rosie's as I enjoy my new favorite across the street 😁. The quality, service and price couldn't be better! I am honestly surprised this is the case for Wilton Manors. The music was very enjoyable! I will be recommending friends and family!

Since the Courtyard Cafe has opened we have been twice and love it. Food is better than the original. Great tasty portions, fair pricing and wonderful service. Glad to have them back. ☕🫖🥤🥗🍳🥞🧇 Great to have a Wilton Drive favorite back! Courtyard Cafe keeps the fun, familiar menu offerings while adding some welcome new items to mix things up. Order turnaround time was a bit on the slower side and the soft drinks were a little flat, but honestly, it’s just exciting to once again have a Diner spot you can actually hang out in. A welcome return to the neighborhood and a great place to socialize.

J

While it is an unassuming, corner building that's easily passed by as compared to be the louder and flashier establishments on the Drive, Caruso's & Courtyard Cafe is one of the coziest neighborhood spots one can find. The staff were incredibly accommodating (Thanks Lloyd and Cheryl, y'all deserve a raise!) and created a welcoming atmosphere that's a prime example of a 3rd space! The food, from the wings to the pies, were surprisngly tasty based on my lackluster expectations from the fairly middling interior decor. Plus, it's in a walkable, easily accessible, multi-modal area on Wilton Drive, complete with outdoor seating that makes it an even better experience.

We stayed at an airbnb close by and didn't want to drive far. We were in the mood for pasta and found this place online and it was in walking distance for us. The staff is friendly but at times a bit overwhelmed. We had the tomato mozzarella salad first, which was just OK. Then we had pasta which was OK but not great. The atmosphere was a bit bland and I would definitely not take anyone for a date. overall OK if you need a quick dinner but nothing special.

We were happy the Courtyard is back. We loved the breakfast in the past. We had awesome service today. We will be back. The food today was for the most part very good. The biscuits and gravy were so good. The eggs were cooked perfectly. However the bacon and home fries were a little over cooked as were the pancakes. The waiter offer to replace mine, without me saying a word. Good eye on his part. As can happen a grill can get away from the cook, but given the other food being so good, we can overlook it. We were happy and will be back. I recommend you try it out. Welcome back guys!

It was pretty much the same as the old place. Food average. Hollendaise sauce was lumpy. The pancakes were rubbery.

When I was leaving, I believe it was Dom himself who asked me to post with a thumbs up—so here it is. I’ll be honest: I still miss Bona, the restaurant that was here before. Their eggplant parm? A definite yes. Dom’s version? Not quite there—the sauce just didn’t hit the mark for me. On the bright side, it was great to see the longtime server who has now worked under three owners. She’s as sweet, attentive, and kind as ever. The place is decent overall, but I think the room could use a little more warmth and coziness to really make it inviting.

R
Rob Gould

After years of Bona being a dinner destination, the change in name and ownership raised expectations that were dashed. It comes down to average food, because the same lovely servers are to be found. The pizza is blah and the salmon we ordered wasn't cooked through and served over an overcooked plate of rice they called risotto. They added a whole bunch of outdoor seating and took down some deco that dint' help the ambience..., but it comes down to food that is just average. In a city filled with good Italian I think they have a long slow summer ahead.

R
Richard Wise

I am really trying to support this place but today at brunch service was horrible. Thank you to step that game up, but I will go back again to give them another try.

T
Terry DiVincenzo

Food was still good, but more expensive. Garlic rolls were dry and cold. Atmosphere was uncomfortable as the lighting was too bright and reminded of a cafeteria. Service was excellent as always, but unless Caruso’s takes some tips from the “Bona” reputation…sadly we may not see it last.

I was there last week for breakfast, and the service was very slow from the start. It took a long time just to receive my first order, which was water. The restaurant was not busy at all due to the cold weather. I was seated near the kitchen and could clearly see that the staff seemed confused and disorganized. They were walking around constantly but not paying attention to my table, which was right in front of them. After placing my food order, I had to repeatedly ask for my coffee. By the time it arrived, it was cold—this happened three times. Once we finished eating, we waited almost 15 minutes for the check. Because of the delay, I didn’t even want to take the leftovers. The old Courtyard Café had servers who were fully connected to their tables and attentive to guests’ needs. Unfortunately, that level of service is no longer there.

So I took some colleagues from work there the other day and we decided to get some food and some of us actually had diarrhea afterwards, no wonder the food is cheap it's not good quality and the place is not a very good atmosphere there's other places you can choose to have better quality food I'd rather pay more money and have better food. We will skip dom diarrheas in the future.

N

We were really looking forward to trying Dom Caruso’s Cucina, but unfortunately, the experience left us pretty disappointed. Right off the bat, there was a lot of confusion—there was a short man running around, and to be honest, we couldn’t quite figure out what his role was. It gave the impression of disorganized management from the start. Russell was kind at first, but the service quickly started to slip. He brought out Tom’s food, which was supposed to be salmon with no pasta and double broccolini, but instead, it came out with the pasta anyway—and the salmon was incredibly dry. Tom had to scrape the pasta off himself, which was frustrating given the clear instructions. On top of that, the salad came out before the appetizers, and the final straw was the check being incorrectly split across three cards instead of four—which caused even more confusion at the end of the meal. Overall, it felt chaotic and mismanaged, which took away from what should’ve been a nice night out. The food had potential, but the experience didn’t live up to expectations. Hoping they can get the service and organization under control, because the location and concept do have promise.

We ordered appetizers and they never came. Our cocktails took forever and the waiter said the bar was overwhelmed when they finally arrived. We never got our second drink. The entrees once we finally got them were very tasty but the portions were small for the price. This retaurant is a skip.

I never write reviews & will probably eventually remove this review I went twice. 1st time, was the week they opened. I got chicken and broccoli rabe. The noodles were just covered in butter and garlic. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. Bland and basic. I wouldn’t order it again. I asked for the check, the server Russel brought it to me. I waited 15 minutes before I asked the wife of the owner if she knew where my waiter went. She herself, just sat down to eat at the table next to me and offered to cash me out. She asked if I wanted to leave a tip and I said yes, I said 20%. She accidentally put 25% and she apologized after I already tapped my card without looking at the receipt (my fault for that, I trusted that she knew what she was doing). I usually tip 30%-100% sometimes based on my experience but I felt it was only worth 20%. So I was like let me come back a month later when they become more organized and get a routine and rhythm going. I understood they just opened up. Give it a second try. 2nd experience: came in for dinner a month later. I ordered a grey goose dirty martini and the salmon and broccoli rabe this time. The same waiter Russel said they don’t have a button for “grey goose” so they will need to charge me something similar. I said no worries, you guys are still new. Food: was still bland. Just butter and garlic. I had to throw some chilli flakes and salt and pepper on it. The salmon was good and seasoned well. (Side note before I finish my second experience: as I was eating, I had this weird feeling people kept staring at me as I ate. Everytime I looked over, it was Russell and other serves just staring at me. Laughing. He noticed I kept catching them and he came over and said he was just looking to see if I needed a refill on my beverages. It was just weird because he passed by quite a few times and looked at my table without mentioning anything. Weird. Anyway, I got the check. My salmon came up to 26$ and my “grey goose” dirty martini was 18$. They had to over charge me for one of their special drinks called “ the rosemary martini” since they didn’t have the grey goose button yet. I was like okay cool. I will definitely not come back here. Atmosphere : cheap. Brown paper disposable table covers with cheap disposable plastic dressing container . But they want to charge Morton steak house and j Alexander’s prices. J Alexander’s charges 15$ for a Belvedere dirty martini with hand stuffed blue cheese olives and you get whatever is left over in a shaker ( basically a whole 2nd drink) for just 15$. This is Wilton manors. Not Miami, las olas or a Michelin star restaurant to be charging prices like that. Instead of undercharging me for a drink they over charged me and I still gave a decent tip. If they would have undercharged me a few bucks for the drink, I would have tipped more. I’m a generous tipper and do not mind dropping some cash on some good food. Well when I called the restaurant to just give them some feedback. Russel answered and he said “ this is a mom and pop place and that’s why the prices are higher and I worked at another place on the drive and they charged the same price” and I’m like where ? I go to all the places on the drive and order Belvedere and grey goose and I’ve never been charged 18$. The range is always 15-16$ (not during happy hour) because happy hour it’s cheaper. I’m not tripping over a few bucks because I enjoy going out and eating and drinking, but when I finally spoke to Dom, he kinda had that rough tough Italian New Yorker mentality, lack of hospitality and just said “come back and we will make it better”. He kept comparing it to the previous restaurant and kept throwing their “cheap alcohol” under the bus without addressing that his own prices were higher than most places around him. I didn’t even bring up Bona and he kept in a weird way comparing the previous restaurant and his. Anyway, I won’t be going back. I wish them the best. I’ll continue to go to North Italia and also my other favorite mom and pop places.

Was excited about trying out the new restaurant that took over unfortunately the food took absolutely forever to get out. Once we got the food I want to say it was mediocre and not piping hot for something we waited so long for. Nice to see a couple of the old staff members there I don't know if they kept the same kitchen team?

Food was room temperature and very bland. Some of the worst italian food I've had. I don't know what why you're blaming your mediocre food on a gift card from Bona when I didn't even use a gift card to pay. How would you know what a customer uses to pay the tab based on a review?

The location is nice and the server was very good, but the food was not very good at all. We ordered ribs that were very overcooked. Typically ribs should fall off the bone, but these ribs were as tough as leather.

Courtyard Cafe: Decided to go there for breakfast this week... Eggs were runny and watery, sausage patties were dry, maybe from the day before and were reheated??? Unfortunately I had to have the dish sent back, which I very seldom do that's how bad it was!! Reordered something different.. took way too long to come out as my friends were already finished with their breakfast. I could understand a delay however the place was not crowded at all at that time. Will not be going back to C.ourtyard

Waited forever for food. Breakfast was horrible! Nothing was even close to warm. The waiter was rude and didn't want to separate the check into parties...what! Never will I go back. Did I mention the rude waiter that we still pitty tipped!

I’m confused about what is going on here. They once had a full Italian menu, including fantastic vegetarian options. They served Chianti by the carafe, it was all very good. The last time we went for dinner we got what equated to a breakfast/lunch diner menu. We told the server we received the incorrect menus and she let us know that is the new “all day” menu. This is a big step down in quality and service compared to what used to be offered here. Understand new management means menu changes, but this seems to go a bit too far. If ordering drinks stick to classic bar drinks (martinis etc) and wine. The specialty cocktails aren’t great.

So this is my first review ever… my husband and I used to love to go to the courtyard café. That was the little place on Wilton Drive near sixth Avenue. The eggs Benedict was always perfect and so was the atmosphere and service. I am sad to say that we tried the new location and was very disappointed. I Always get eggs Benedict and asked the server to PLEASE have the chef make sure my egg was not overcooked. Not only where my poached eggs hard boiled, but the English muffin was not toasted and the hashbrowns were ice cold, under seasoned and undercooked(some raw potatoes).. This saddens me😟 . We try to patronize restaurants on the Drive but this one was a SWING AND A MISS… Maybe it was an off day😬

Had breakfast here. Spongy, flavorless, dry pancakes. French toast was so bad I couldn't swallow it and had to send it back! Server was great in handling the issue. However, terrible food and good service aren't a winning recipe.

Wasn't a great experience. Went with friends, waiter was rude and inattentive. I got a BLT and it's probably the worst sandwich I've ever had... And it's literally three ingredients, two of which are vegetables. Don't go here, I go to WM every year and there's way better places than this.

been there 3 times. Group of 4 each time. way to expensive for quality of food. 1st experience horrible. had chicken parm. chicken was tough and the sauce horrible. 2nd time had pizza. very good. 3rd time horrible. had 2 appetizers. mozzerella sticks. they were good but were $14. also ordered mozzerella with capers in lemon sauce. I thought it would be mozzerella with bread and fried. the plate comes and there are 3 pieces of mozzerella (1/8" slices) with capers in lemon sauce. $14???? rip off. had the chicken franchese for dinner. the chicken was horrible. tough - really horrible. i/we will not be returning. service was good. woman that was there from bonas is still there. she is wonderful!! atmosphere was ok. it's a restaurant in wilton manors. atmosphere cant be all that bad with all type of men walking by. I won't be back. there are many italian restaurants in the area with much better food at lower cost.

The food is great, it's everything else that's got problems. It's EXTREMELY noisy. There are no soft surfaces anywhere, so all sound echos in the dining room. VERY slow wait staff and kitchen staff. Expect to wait and wait and wait. Server took our drink order and it took 20 minutes to get sodas and tea. Server said they would be right back to take order. 15 minutes later they came by the table and said "I'll be right back to take your order".... It took another 15 minutes before they came back. After ordering salads arrived in 40 minutes, with entrees about 10 minutes after. Our server complained to us all night about the way the place is run. One person at our table complained to Dom about the wait for everything and all he did was yell, first at the host stand and then followed to the table still yelling. This was at a Give Back Monday and we had a 6pm reservation. They weren't even busy yet. I can't imagine what it would be like on a weekend night! Food is good... Maybe just order takeout.

Discrimination and Unprofessional Treatment As a friend of someone who was recently mistreated at this establishment, I’m appalled by the behavior of the staff. My friend, who is handicapped and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, was spoken to harshly and told not to return due to his method of communication, which is entirely out of his control. We expect businesses to be welcoming and respectful of all customers, regardless of their background or abilities. Unfortunately, this restaurant failed to provide even basic courtesy and respect. Until significant changes are made, I cannot recommend this place to anyone."

Really badly done Italian food! The salad was wilted. The garlic rolls were hard as a rock and non edible the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was a watery broth of soupy cheese and maybe 6 small pieces of chicken. The wine list is well not a list! And and the price point was way above for I what I would say is a poor version of olive garden. The ambiance is also lack luster and plain. The 10-12 people that were working appeared to be very confused and were very non attentive. Definitely not a place I will be going in the future

Ordered lasagna that was worse then store bought Flavorless meat and runny canned sauce. Spaghetti overcooked and meatballs with little flavor. Service was great though they weren't busy on a Saturday evening. Not going back. Previous owners/ chef was much better!!

Waste. Of. Your. Time. The good reviews posted here have to be coming from friends of the owner. The highlight was the flavorless food. The miserable amount of time waiting and waiting and waiting was the second least unpleasant part of the experience. The rude service staff who has received no training at all was the cherry on the top of this disgusting Sundae. Would only recommend to people I dislike.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food is bland and lacking in flavor—definitely nothing memorable. The ambiance of the place feels careless and uninspired, giving off a strong “we don’t really care” vibe. On top of that, the prices are outrageously high for what you’re getting. Overall, it’s a disappointing experience that doesn’t justify the cost.

Just awful. Too bad. The lasagna was gooey and tasteless and the veal was tough and rubbery. The staff kept saying how overworked they were, given that there was one large party in the restaurant. Will never go back.

This space used to be occupied by an Italian restaurant called "Bona" it was a decent place, good food and reasonably priced. Went today to check out the collaboration of Carusos restaurant and the old Courtyard Cafe. Disappointed with the interior drap color on the walls, the wait staff looked like they had not had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was subpar, and a little pricey for eggs and home fries. Needless to say as much as I want to support gay owned establishments, this one disappoints 😞

Went for a group New Year’s Day brunch with a pre-fixed menu only the menu was their regular menu so ended up paying $40 for a $15 meal that sucked. The restaurant was completely unprepared. The food took forever and half the table was swerved an hour after the rest. The food was cold and tasteless. The price was supposed to include a glass of champagne but good luck getting the server to bring it. Take a pass- you can do better. TOTAL RIP OFF!
