Opinions de G&B Oyster Bar Fort Lauderdale
Reviews seemed good and I was in the mood for seafood. This spot did not disappoint! Had a Tito's vodka mojito, coconut shrimp, blackened mahi, and the coconut cheesecake. I enjoyed it all. Also tried the shrimp and conch fritters and they were not my thing. I would definitely dine here again. Sat at the bar and the lady and two men there all took great care of me and everyone around me.
Thanks to G&Bs, I now like oysters! I love coming here and trying the new oysters on the menu. Everything seems to be super freshly made with some rotating limited quantity specialties like the paella. I've only ever sat in the bar area and not the main restaurant, but the is a great place to come have a drink and meet up with some friends over delicious food. And try the scooby snacks (not on the menu, crab claws in a bath of garlic deliciousness) you won't be disappointed! *Update: Scooby snacks are now on the menu!*
One of the best meals and seafood restaurants I've ever been to! Will be going here all week while I'm here. The oysters were so fresh and meaty. The side house salad was a great portion and taste. The coleslaw is a honey mustard taste which is delicious. The LOBSTER CLUB is best sandwich I've ever had. Absolutely amazing with a whole Maine lobster on it. Atmosphere and staff were sweet, fun and super attentive. New spot in FL!
The food was very good. If you are from a foreign country that is not very used to eat spicy foods, keep this in mind when ordering. Almost everything was spicy. The octopus was super tender, I recommend it. The atmosphere sadly was very noisy. I don't think there's sound panels that reduce the noise. I got very overwhelmed.
I had a great time at Coconuts Wayside and G&B Oyster Bar. I was in a hurry with little time and didn't think I had time for an off airport meal and would have to eat at FLL. Glad I took the risk. This is my favorite place to eat when in Ft. Lauderdale. I love it because it's close to the airport and with valet parking and dining at the bar, I can stop here drop my keys eat and leave with ease. Or stick around if ai have the time. I had the Surf N" Surf Oysters and the Blackened Butterflied Red Snapper as the Local Fialsh of the Day w/Sausage & Sage Stuffing. I added an Eapresso Martini. Every thing was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect for an early Friday evening meal. The female bartender suggested meal choices and I was very happy with the service and her suggestions. Always a great place to enjoy a meal and some drinks.
my boyfriend and I visited Fort Lauderdale for a weekend ,to celebrate my birthday. I love seafood, so this place was first on our list and we were nothing but pleased with everything from the great service to the delicious food! we will definitely be back the next time we come to Fort Lauderdale. we had raw oysters , lobster fried rice, and the lobster cheese fries. They all were a 10/10 .
Tried to get into Coconut’s but there was a 75 minute wait and so glad there was. Decided to go to G & B’s instead and oh so glad we did. All the the food we had including oysters & clams on half shell, conch chowder, crispy snapper (fish of day special) and linguine & clam sauce were all fantastic. May even go for back for second night in a row to try some other dishes. Oh, and the wait staff is super friendly as well! A true fem and must stop if in S. Ft. Lauderdale!!!
We dropped in during the boat show not expecting to get a seat for a while but they found us a spot and we started the never ending seafood ordering that my wife did. Everything was excellent! Shrimp, oysters, hush puppies, amongst other items and nothing was a miss. We had 6 people that all came in at different times and the servers worked with us and were incredible. I will definitely come here again and recommend it to any seafood lovers.
Loved the options for oysters here. Where fresh and about 6 different kinds. But you just must to try their crab cakes- they are the best for sure. I always skeptical about it in other places, but here I just want to come back because of them.
Great place for a fun meal, good food, nice servers, cool atmosphere. Very busy so you might need to wait but it's worth it.
Sat by the bar, very comfortable. Bartenders are very attentive and gave us good recommendations on food! Had the oysters that were super fresh and tasty as well as the lobster boil which had plenty of seafood and a nice presentation. My girlfriend had the fish with arugula which was excellent and a nice piece was served. Had the lobster bisque which was a little cold but they rectified when asked. Awesome food, great atmosphere and worth the $$$.
Mega amazing spot! G&B Oyster Bar is pure delight. Huge thank you to German — an outstanding server with a warm smile, true professionalism, and the kind of attitude that elevates the whole experience. The oysters were absolutely FIRE! I’ll definitely be back. 20 dec. Second visit, and once again absolutely fantastic. After the first time, I couldn’t wait to come back — and it did not disappoint. Impeccable service, incredibly fresh and delicious oysters, and perfectly chilled Prosecco. An ideal spot to start the day right. Will definitely be back.
Great place to drop in. First come first seated service. Shared a table with another group. Fun and casual. Share the menu and options with nicer dining next door.
G&B, and Coconuts share the same menu and kitchen. Loved their lobster roll, and oysters rockerfeller. I found their lobster club a bit lacking in lobster, but was very fresh.
We had raw oysters and a lobster roll delish. Service was good..and as a bonus watched the staff feed the Tarpon. Very cool seeing them come up and feed..
Great place for fresh oysters and chilled lobster. Our bartender couldn't have been nicer
Food was amazing. Fresh and hot from the pot to your plate. Drinks were good. Anna was a great server/ bartender. Anna recommended great food options. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves being from out of town.
Came for the crab claws, left obsessed with the oysters and spicy Florida style clam chowder. Busy spot, but worth it.
If you love seafood this is the place for you. Get the oysters 🦪, the grilled octopus (cooked perfectly), the scoobies, the steamers (clams), and the hush puppies. The waitstaff is incredibly NICE. Amazing service. Recommend getting a reservation for big groups or you can find a spot at the bar.
We were looking for a place to try a variety of oysters and this was perfect. We ordered four different kinds and some wine . Also went for their specialty of garlic butter crab deliciousness - totally recommend
I recently dined at G&B Oyster Bar and, surprisingly, experienced one of the best steaks I’ve had in years. Despite being known for its seafood, this place delivered a steak that was juicy, tender, and absolutely delicious. To start, I had the Ahi Tuna Poke, which was also fantastic. The flavors were fresh and perfectly balanced, making for an excellent appetizer. Overall, G&B Oyster Bar exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re there for the seafood or, like me, end up savoring a superb steak, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend this spot for its delightful dishes and unexpected culinary surprises.
G&B Oyster Bar is a companion restaurant to Coconuts, and we grabbed a quick beer at the bar while we awaited our seats at Coconuts. The customer service was outstanding, and the drinks were great. G&B Oyster Bar servers the same menu as Coconuts. Do yourself a favor and give G&B Oyster Bar a try; you will not be disappointed! If you find my review helpful, please click the thumbs-up👍icon! Thanks!
What an awesome little gem we found here. We were actually going to the restaurant next door and due to the wait of almost 2 hours we decided to go to this restaurant next to them. And we are so glad we did. Everything was delicious, fresh, and very rich in flavor. Their drinks were also really good, we had their signature blueberry mojito and it was to die for. Their dessert was also very yummy and rich in flavor. We will definitely be going back when we visit again. Their customer service was really awesome even from the fact that is gets really busy. We recommend their oysters and their lobster. If you find this review helpful, click the like button 👍
Always a great time. They get BUSY but the staff is built for it and know how to be efficient. We love sitting at the bar and having Brad and Taylor to make us feel at home! There's lots of things to enjoy, on this particular trip we started with spinach artichoke dip. Let me say I understand that it has been on menus for the past 20 years, but this stuff is made in house, full of spinach and artichokes, and not thick or goopy. Served with a nice thin chip that pairs well. I then enjoyed a delicious calamari steak with chorizo sofrito, that's something you never see on a menu and is extremely tender and worth every bite. The fresh oysters, delicious seafood, friendly service, and great location are always a good reason to visit! You can't go wrong with lots of things on the menu and don't forget there is a happy hour! Of course the best sunset and food in the area, we will be back for sure! Remember as they say, Be Nice.

A great seafood/oyster bar… excellent, professional service, generous happy hour selection and good prices. We enjoyed a dozen oysters, 3 stone crab claws ( ok these were expensive) the skobis (house special snow crab claws) peel and eat shrimp and shrimp fritters. EVERYTHING was fresh and delicious. Enjoy!!

Fun crowd, casual oyster bar with well chosen list of oysters. Good service. Food is very good. The lobster club sandwich alone is worth the trip. Seeing the lobster philly sandwich surprised me as a concept so I had to try. Very good but I'd go for the lobster club. No blender drinks - go next door to Coconuts. Valet parking only.
Sat at the bar top by the open garage door. Even though it's like 90° outside the A/C did the job and it was a comfortable temperature. The bartenders were friendly and informative. Had one of each of the raw oysters and they were each delicious. The menu gives good descriptions of how each oyster tastes. I had a caipirinha. G&B modified the classic recipe by adding sprite. Untraditional but still tasty. The Scoobies, buttery lobster claws served with bread practically melted in my mouth. I would try it again if I'm ever back in the area.
Mahi mahi was good. I think it was too expensive for bar food. I was genuinely alright, I wouldn’t go back. The atmosphere is packed and feels super nice,no music though. I feel like nothing there was superb but feel like everything was just alright, edible. Worst key lime pie I’ve had so don’t order that, order the potato crusted snapper or the lobster club if you go. It’s alright.
I have been coming to G&B for over 15 years. It’s been a few years since I’ve been since the pandemic started and I live in Canada. That being said it’s always been the same food and the same service. This time we went they changed their formula for the lobster rolls and discontinued the alligator ribs. The were two staple items that I have literally enjoyed consistently for over a decade and was always part of the itinerary whenever we would visit florida (usually 1-2 times Per year). The lobster roll was packed with lobster as usual but it lost its charm being served in the little rolls with cheese and bacon. This was now served cold and was a more mature taste but it lacked it previous flavour. The lack of alligator ribs was also a missed favourite but changes happen. The grilled oysters were delicious and had a good kick to them. To top it off the coconut cheesecake with berry drizzle was phenomenal. Staff taking the booking at the front were somewhat unpleasant but our waitress was great and helpful with making suggestions. This has been the most consistent restaurant I’ve ever visited so it was disappointing to see the menu changed after over 10 years of having the exact same items that we grew to love. If you are patient enough to wait for the outdoor seating with a view, it’s worth it. Expect minimum 30 min wait times on almost any day or time you visit.
The Oyster Bar and adjoining Coconuts share menus, kitchens and staff. Freshly shucked east coast oysters and the baked Surf&Turf oysters with crab were amazing. The "snapper" was weird, on a rubbery skin, but tasted good. Bar drinks are expensive but bottles of wine are moderately priced. The venue, on a marina, is perfect for seafood lovers.
I ate here twice on my vacation. Food is great, giving 4 stars because of the price. It's not fine dining, but a tourist area so I guess it's justified. The Scoobys are amazing, tuna dish. Oysters fresh. Always busy!
This was the first restaurant we hit up when we got to Fort Lauderdale. The streets in this town are very bizarre. I somehow missed the entrance to the restaurant parking lot three times and had to circle around. there isn't any free parking around so you might as well use the complimentary valet and tip the valet service, we were lucky enough to come on a Thursday night without any wait. There were still a lot of people however, we were able to get a table right away. I really wanted to give this a five star, but there were some things that detracted from the experience. I had read a lot of the reviews about the wonderful assortment of fresh oysters, and I was not disappointed. There was six different types of oysters from the East Coast. We got an assortment of all of them, and they were every bit as good as other reviews. The only disappointing thing is as some other reviewer's mentioned were very varying size of the same oysters. The entrée that I selected was the fresh grouper which was the fresh catch of the day with crab lump meat. I was expecting more of a refined dish since it's a market price food item and it cost 42 dollars. It did come with a side which was tomato and balsamic vinegar, which is probably one of the best that I've had in a long time. The actual main dish look like a grilled fish with the lump crab meat thrown on, and this mysterious yellow sauce. It didn't reflect a $42 dish. We got clam linguine for the kids to split since there's no way to kids would be able to eat an entire adult entrée. They recommended if we wanted to add shrimp to the dish and my wife felt guilty about it so she said yes. The added five extra shrimp for a total of $13.75. The Keylime pie is definitely a hands-down winner for dessert. Overall, I'm happy that the food that I was served was fresh but they could work on some presentation for the main entrées. Our server was really nice and was patient and explaining the different menu specials however, it got very busy and she never got back around to refilling the water for our table but who can blame her on a busy night

They have great oysters from the east coast. Definitely know where to get oysters. Cold water really is the way to go. Drinks were great, food was great. They have a few servers that take care of everyone. So someone is always close by if you need anything. It's a Great spot to stop by for drinks and apps.
One of my favorite local spots. Relaxed, casual atmosphere. You can grab any open table. The seafood is amazing. I prefer the brunch, apps and lunch items over the dinner entrees. The waiters are friendly and quick. The seafood is delicious. The only critique is that the drinks are a bit weak and they don't have happy hour specials.

Thank you to the wait staff and the valet team. Says a lot about the place when your greeted with such warmth and smiles. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting. Very busy place yet we were seated rather quickly. Our table was inside with a perfect view. On to the food…. I was a little disappointed that they no longer had the alligator ribs seen in photos online because that was apart of my reasoning for coming next to the oysters. We ordered the oysters, the peel and eat shrimp, blackberry mojito, a beer, a lobster BLT and the jambalaya. We ended up sending the jambalaya back. It was way too salty and the chicken seemed fake in tasting. I was not impressed by the shrimp either. The lobster BLT was delicious and the grilled oysters were so good we ordered another round. The scenery up the road coming is beautiful as well. I will be back to give some other items on the menu a try and walk the shopping area as well that is near by.
Although the presentation of the food and the server David was delightful, the oysters were small compared to others I’ve had (and I have them every weekend). In addition, the cocktail sauce and horseradish is for a jar and not made in house. Had the same meal at another establishment last weekend, price was 20% more and food was 100% better.
